Padgy Wanee Turley, 83, died November 3, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born October 24, 1937, in rural Hanover, to Ernest ‘Ernie’ and Marvel (Rose) Buesig.&nbsp;

Padgy graduated from Marysville High School in 1955. She was the owner of P and J Brokerage, Hutchinson. Padgy’s love for the outdoors and gardening was second to her love for her grandchildren.

On June 15, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, James ‘Jim’ Turley at the Afton Church in Marysville. In 1975, they moved to Hutchinson from Medina, OH, and shared 52 years of marriage before his death on September 23, 2007.

Padgy is survived by sons, Richard Turley and James Turley (Wendy), all of Hutchinson; brothers, Bob Buesig and Jerry Buesig; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family, Cindy and Michele.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Turley; one brother; and one sister.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2107 8th&nbsp;Road, Blue Rapids, KS. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Beverly Ann Kaufmann, 74, died on October 31, 2020 at Diversicare, Hutchinson, KS. She was born March 7, 1946 in New Hampton, IA., the daughter of Arthur O. and Edna M. (Pierce) Larson.

Beverly graduated from New Hampton High School in 1964. On June 10, 1967, she married Thomas Kaufmann in Nashua, IA. She worked as a nurse aide for over 42 years.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; brothers, Alvin, Earl and Larry Larson; and sisters, Marie Pierce and Jane McBride.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Kaufmann and wife, Lisa; and two grandchildren, Jarron and Tenley Kaufmann.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Linda S. Gardner, 78, of South Hutchinson, died October 30, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born April 7, 1942, in Norwich, to Harold Ota and Edna (Allen) Pugh.

Linda was a 1960 graduate of Sylvia Rural High School. She had a passion for working with dogs, from agility training to teaching obedience classes at the Hutchinson Kennel Club. Linda worked at Wesley Towers, and Fairfield and Sylvia schools as a cook.&nbsp;

She enjoyed doing cross stitch and was an avid crocheting enthusiast, making afghans for seemingly everyone she knew. Linda was an accomplished baker, with her homemade cinnamon rolls being one of the family’s favorite. She was a homemaker who enjoyed doing things with and for her family. Linda treasured her family, and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.&nbsp;

On September 10, 1961, she married Max Harold Gardner, in Sylvia. They shared over 59 years of marriage.

Linda is survived by husband, Max Gardner of Hutchinson; son, John (Becky) Gardner of Pocahontas, AR; daughter, Gayle (Lee) Johnson of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brooke Barker, Bailey Gardner, Austin Johnson, and Jenna Gardner; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Dorothy Ann Pugh and Dixie Dodson.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Steve Sears officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary.

Teresa Marie ‘Terri’ Willis, 62, of Hutchinson, died November 1, 2020, at Hospice House. She was born October 9, 1958, in Olathe, to Edwin and Florence (Smith) Willis.

Terri graduated from Buhler High School in 1976 and was the Kitchen Manager at Plum Creek Elementary School. Prior to that, she worked at Prosperity Elementary School and was the manager at the former Neufeld’s Deli. Terri enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel and caring for her pets. She loved to cook and spend time with her family.

Terri is survived by her mother, Florence Willis, Belize; children, Aaron Willis (Lisa), Pretty Prairie, Jason Huff (Sara), Hutchinson, Lindsay Huff, Wichita; six grandchildren; siblings, Jackie Gilbert (Rod), Hutchinson, Lori Meadows (Gerald), Sterling, Kathy Neufeld (Stan) Belize; Edwin Willis Jr., El Dorado; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Kelly Willis.

Theda Maryse Ball, daughter of Ernest Fred and Eva Marie (Campbell) Minor, was born July 2, 1934, in Leoti, Kansas.  She passed away peacefully at her home in Norton, Kansas, surrounded by her family, on October 30, 2020, at the age of 86.

Theda grew up in the Leoti community and graduated from the Wichita County Community High School where she was very active in band, vocal, cheerleading and basketball.  On October 7, 1956, she married Max Colvin Ball at the First Presbyterian Church in Leoti.  To this union three children were born.  The family moved 16 times around the state of Kansas, due to Max's profession of being a brick mason.   In 1960, they made Norton their permanent home.  

Theda was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  Theda was a homemaker and loved raising her family and her garden.  She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Spending time together, Theda and Max enjoyed fishing, turkey hunting and bird watching.  

Survivors include:  her loving husband, Max Ball, of their home in Norton; three children, Patricia (Dave) Fischer, Randall (Tammy) Ball, and Tammie (Dan) Bainter, all of Norton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gordon Minor, Stilwell, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lois Phillis, Hutchinson, Kansas; Margaret Turner, Scott City, Kansas; other relatives and friends.

Theda was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, Gerald, Leon, Duane, Vernon, Kay, Harold, Donald and Larry Minor, and two sisters, Joyce Farr and Charlotte Carson.

There will be a private family service held at a later date.  

A memorial has been established to the Theda Ball Memorial Fund.

C. Janice Brauer, 95, of South Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Mennonite Manor. She was born October 12, 1925 in San Juan, Texas, the daughter of Fay and Mabel (Linn) Snowden.

She married Milton E. Brauer on November 24, 1944 at Harlingen, Texas, moving to Haven, Kansas after WWII in 1945. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1995.

Janice was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haven, where she started the music choir for the church in 1948, and was director for 60 years. She had the phone numbers of each church person, man, lady, or child, calling them on a birthday or anniversary, wishing them a “Happy Birthday or Anniversary and many more with God’s Blessings.”

She loved her farm life of housework, yardwork, and the driving of tractors, grain trucks or combine farming.&nbsp; Her well known “trademark” was a loud and shrill whistle, smile and the wave of a hand to everyone.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Linden K. Meyer of Birmingham, Alabama; three grandchildren, Greg (Carrie) Meyer, Jenna (Paul) Green, and Nathan Brauer; five great-grandchildren, Cason and Kiley Green, Hadden, Spencer and Nash Meyer; sisters-in-law, Connie Brauer of Haven, Theresa Kincaid of Des Moines, Iowa, and Hermione Brandis of Hesston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Mabel Snowden; husband, Milton Brauer; son, Spencer Craig Brauer; granddaughter, Kelsey Jill Meyer; brother, Donald Snowden; sister, Patsy Mae Wilson; sisters-in-law, Helen Haines and Tusnelda Ebel; and brothers-in-law, Louis, Johnny, Edger and Tony Brauer.

Eugene Williams, 44, passed away on October 29, 2020, at his home. He was born March 1, 1976, in Borger, TX, to Terry Eugene and Carol Elaine (Cooke) Williams.

Eugene was a 1996 graduate of Yarbrough High School, Goodwell, OK, and a 2006 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL. He served in the United States Navy from June 1998 to February 2007.&nbsp; Eugene was employed by Helix HP1 as an electronics technician officer. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed shooting and reloading ammunition. Eugene loved riding his motorcycle, tinkering in his shop on the metal lathe, working on the computer, playing guitar, and loving his ‘fur babies’. He was an intelligent and kind-hearted individual, who was always seeking to increase his knowledge--to learn about anything and everything.

On September 25, 2010, Eugene married Mindy Renee Gardner, in Ulysses, KS.

He is survived by his wife, Mindy Williams of Hutchinson, KS; father, Terry Williams and wife, Tammy of El Dorado Springs, MO; aunt, Tammie Crafton of Fritch, TX; and cousin, Matt Crafton of Stinnett, TX.

Eugene was preceded in death by his mother, Carol E. Williams, and an uncle, Mike Crafton.

Vernon C. Martin Sr., 88, of Hutchinson, died October 25, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 8, 1931, in Hutchinson, to Leonard and Hazel (Roher) Martin.

Vernon graduated from Central High School in 1950. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, serving in the Korean War. Vernon was a Class A Mechanic and worked for Morton Salt for 30 years. He belonged to the VFW Post 906 as a Lifetime Member, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68, Moose Lodge 982, Confectionary Union, and the United Steel Workers Union.

On May 2, 1955, Vernon married Seville Anna Irwin, in Omaha, Nebraska. They shared 65 years of marriage together.

He is survived by wife, Seville Martin, sons, Vernon Martin Jr. and Randall Martin, all of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Martin; and brothers, Glenn and Gregg Martin.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary. Gwinnell R. Nickel, 87, died on October 28, 2020 at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson, KS. She was born April 25, 1933 in Doniphan, MO., the daughter of Noble A. and Pearl L. (Hunt) Bass. 

Gwinnell worked for Fort Worth Cattle Express for over four years and C&amp;H Transportation for over 10 years. She later worked as a housekeeper in the Dallas, TX. area and later moved to Hutchinson and continued housekeeping until she retired. Gwinnell was great at sewing, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed designing and making lamp shades and doing upholstery work.

Gwinnell was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Bill, Dusty, Bob, Dean and Hugh Bass; and sisters, Maxine Edwards and Judy Cummings.

Survivors include her children, Janet Lee Smith of Texas, Deborah Ann Baughman of Hutchinson and Larry Wayne Smith of Texas; a brother, Jack Bass of Hutchinson; grandsons, Justin Bartak of North Dakota, Gary L. Argo of Missouri and Justin Wilcher of Texas, and one great grandson, Jordan Bartak of North Dakota.

Bruce Andrew Toews, 57, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020, at Pleasant View Estates in Inman.

He was born April 5, 1963, in Moundridge, the son of Harvey R. and Jane Penner Toews. He was a graduate of Inman High School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Bethel College, North Newton.

Bruce was a resident of Neodesha for the last 32 years. He spent his entire teaching career of 30 years as the kindergarten through 6th grade vocal music teacher in the Neodesha school district.

He was a lifetime member of the Inman Mennonite Church. He also attended the Neodesha United Methodist Church, where he played the organ and piano and was involved in their Vacation Bible School program.

He is survived by his mother, Jane, Inman; brother, Mark, Inman; sister, Rhonda (Dave) Toews Moore, Inman; close friend, Susan Gouldie, Chanute; niece, Andrea Vandever-Moore and nephew, Nickolaus Vandever-Moore, both of Inman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Toews.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Inman Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, at North Inman Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Inman Mennonite Church. Penny Sue MacArthur, 60, died on October 27, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. She was born December 14, 1959 in Hutchinson, KS., the daughter of Loren E. and Beverly A. (Hoffman) Thompson.

Penny graduated from Hutchinson High School. She was a homemaker and a CMA for over 25 years at Wesley Towers. Penny enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and watching soap operas and loving her family endlessly. 

Penny was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Patty Hoffman and Jonni Lynn.

Betty Jean Keeler, 90, died October 26, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 24, 1930, in Stafford, to John Park and Minnie Hollis (Bemis) Smith, Jr.&nbsp;

Betty graduated from Stafford High School and attended Hutchinson Community Junior College. She retired from the Dillons Bakery, after 20 years of service. Betty enjoyed reading, flowers, and playing Pitch, Solitaire, and Phase 10. Her favorite card game though was Bridge; Betty was an avid Bridge player, and enjoyed the friendly competition and friendship. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson. Betty always felt blessed, but she was also a blessing to many others with her warmth, love, and hugs.&nbsp;

On June 25, 1950, she married Lloyd ‘Allan’ Keeler in Hutchinson. They shared 47 years of marriage before his death on November 13, 1997.

Betty is survived by children Karen Crain (Jim) of Argyle, TX, Kenneth Keeler (Jackie) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Kimberly Gustafson (David) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Benjamin Crain (Rachel), Kristin Cumbie (Jeff), Kendall Keeler, Kyleigh Geary (Justin), Katie Collins (Mike), and Brody Gustafson (Katy); great-grandchildren, Colton, Hudson, Leighton, Makiah, Nevaeh, Carter, Cason, Morgandi, Corinne, Nora, Park, and Guy; sister, Donna Kay Swanson (Jerry) of Loveland, CO; and sister-in-law, Glenda (Smith) Giles of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John P. Smith III.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson, with David Tappe and Jim Crain officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

James Albert ‘Jim’ Ragsdale Sr., 85, of Hutchinson, died October 26, 2020, at his&nbsp; home. He was born September 30, 1935, in Kansas City, MO, to James and Ruby (Gillette) Ragsdale.

Jim graduated from Mehlville High in Lemay, MO in 1954. Following high school he joined the United States Army and served until 1958. Jim worked for 19 years at Associated Grocers as a truck driver and 17 years at Wheeled Coach in assembly and inspection. He was a member of the Central Kansas Gun Club.

Jim is survived by sons, James Ragsdale Jr., Dwain Ragsdale, Antonio Ragsdale, all of Hutchinson, Robert ‘Bob’ Falcone, Cedar Hill, MO; daughters, Denise Loy, Hutchinson, Lisa Gann-Ragsdale, Hillsboro, MO; brothers, Bob Ragsdale, Wichita, Don Ragsdale, Hutchinson; sister, Sue Ragsdale, Sylvia; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Vounia Ray Allen, 78, of Hutchinson, died October 27, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society - Hutchinson Village. She was born September 3, 1942, in Atoka, OK, to Elton E. and Lessie E. (Melton) Adams.

Vounia graduated from high school in Kiowa, OK, in 1961. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and canning food, and listening to gospel music. Vounia had a strong love for her children and grandchildren and enjoyed road trips to visit friends and family. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.

On November 16, 1962, Vounia married Vernon Gene Allen, in Antlers, OK. He died April 8, 2010.

She is survived by children, Cody Allen (Jelice), Wichita, Kathy Krebaum (Jim), Linda and Jennifer Allen, all of Hutchinson; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Williams (Joe), Sylvia; and brother, Donald Adams (Betty), Mustang, OK.

Vounia was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elvie Reed.

Sharon Jeanne Sutton, 78, died October 23, 2020, at her home.&nbsp; She was born May 17, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Frank ‘Mason’ and June Louise (Raines) Tennant.

Sharon graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960, and attended Hutchinson Community Junior College.&nbsp;&nbsp; She retired as a home health aide for Hospice House and Hospice of Reno County, after 14 years of service.&nbsp; Sharon’s true passion was that of an ultimate caregiver to her family, friends, and those she served as a home health aide.&nbsp; She was strong-willed, yet kind, compassionate, and always put others ahead of herself.

Sharon is survived by daughter, Rita Mora and husband Ed of Hutchinson; sons, Jeff Sutton and wife Carrie of Buhler, Todd Sutton and Gary Sutton, both of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Gail Lynn Sutton.

Alvin ‘Al’ P. Eash, 87, died October 22, 2020, at his home. He was born May 9, 1933, in Yoder, to Perry H. and Anna S. (Yoder) Eash.

Al volunteered alternative civilian service from 1952 to 1953 in a psychiatric hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. He mixed and delivered feed for Bornholdt Feed and Seed, and sold feed and seed for Security Elevator. Al retired with 30 years of service as the elevator superintendent for The Farmers Cooperative Grain Company, Abbyville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, passionately mowing his lawn for the past 20 years, playing the guitar, mandolin, and Qchord, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Al was a member of&nbsp;Journey in South&nbsp;Hutchinson.

On August 31, 1958, Al married Betty A. Borntrager, in Hutchinson. They shared over 62 years of marriage.

He is survived by wife, Betty Eash of Abbyville; children, Carlton (Diana) Eash of Hutchinson, Doreen (Mark) McCabe of Larkspur, CO, and Evert Eash of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Crystal (Will) Weast, Bayleigh (Brandon) Warner, Carla Eash, Emily McCabe, Christa McCabe, Ryan McCabe, Jared Eash, Tyler (Amanda) Eash, Lindsy Eash, and Kelsey (Caeden) Fly; step-grandchild, James (Kali) Avery; great-grandchildren, Cody Weast, Raelynn Warner, Cooper Eash, Harper Eash, Cannon Bryant, Kambrie Fly, and Kip Fly; step-great-grandchildren, Abi Weast and Austin Weast; and siblings, Samuel (Esther) Eash, Perry (Ada) Eash, Clara (Glenn) Yoder; and, sister-in-law, Alice Eash.

Sara graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a cook for the lunch counter at Woolworths for many years until it closed. Sara was an avid Bingo player and loved to cook for her family. She was a longtime member of the former Southwest Baptist Church.

On May 19, 1956, Sara married Daniel V. Vieyra, in Hutchinson. They shared 64 years of marriage. He survives.

Also surviving are: children, Anthony Vieyra, Melinda Aleman (Richard), Alex Vieyra, Vince Vieyra; sister, Rachel Caudillo; brothers, David Razo (Joyce), Tony Razo (Linda); sister-in-law, Carol Razo, all of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Melissa Vieyra; sister, Ruth Garcia; and brothers, John and Joe Razo.

Susie Koehn Schmidt was born on May 5, 1931 to Cornelious and Alda Koehn at Ulysses, Kansas. She passed away on October 24, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge, Kansas. Having reached the age of 89 years, she is now awaiting the resurrection, the final judgement, and her eternal reward.

Times were difficult in the 30’s, and her family moved to Fredonia, Kansas, as her parents sought a place where they could provide for them all. After about seven years her father was advised to move to California by his brother, Minister Abe T. Koehn. So, it was in 1942 that the nine Koehn children and their parents moved to Winton, California. It was quite a trip with the speed limit being only 35 miles per hour.

When Susie was twelve years old, she got converted and was baptized on the confession of her faith by Minister Hirem Mininger on December 12, 1943. She embraced this faith all her life. She continued her basic education in the Winton Public Schools. It was at this time that California required children to be enrolled in school until sixteen years of age, so she attended Livingston High School for a short time.

Susie kept herself busy and was a very hard worker. After leaving school she worked in various places to help support the family. She worked in a nursing home for a time and had thoughts of going to school to become a nurse.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; At 18 years of age, Susie was married to me, Edward LeRoy Schmidt on July 13, 1949. This union was blessed with seven children, four boys and three girls. They are all married, and we have thirty-two grandchildren and seventy-two great-grandchildren. Between being a farmer’s wife and meeting the demands of raising a large family, Susie was a diligent homemaker and carried a heartfelt concern for the salvation of her children. She could often be found out in the field doing what she could to help while also conscientiously keeping house and meeting her children’s needs. Since she was a splendid cook, she enjoyed sharing hospitality and often had Sunday company. &nbsp;

There were many opportunities to serve and she endeavored to serve the Lord in her varying responsibilities. Whether it was as a minister’s wife at our home congregation at Livingston, CA, and later at Willcox, AZ, or as a missionary in Mexico, Guatemala and El Mirage, AZ, she was a prayerful help in the work of the Lord. In 1988 we were asked to Pastor the small congregation in Willcox, AZ. We bought a farm there and lived on it until retiring in 1995.

After retirement we lived for awhile in the nearby community of Sunsites. In 2007, we moved to Halstead, KS, and for a time lived off and on at both Willcox and Halstead. As Susie’s health began to decline, we settled more permanently in Halstead with Susie moving into the Moundridge Manor in December of 2015. Being a very determined and active person most of her life, she found it difficult to accept her inability to live independently, but the Manor staff very graciously endeavored to help through this time. Prior to March 2020, I was able to be with her and cherish those days we could spend together reading, praying and listening to the singing at the Manor. We shared life’s joys and sorrows together for seventy-one years. God has richly blessed our lives together, and for this we thank you, Lord!

Susie was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Edward; her children: Milton and Lucille Schmidt, Pearce, Arizona; Clayton and Marilyn Schmidt, Buhl, Idaho; Frances and Lonnie Medina, Buhl, Idaho; Margaret and Kenneth Conley, Halstead, Kansas; Glenn and Linda Schmidt, Willcox, Arizona; Daniel and Ronda Schmidt, Willcox, Arizona; Karen and Murray Wiebe, Willcox, Arizona; one sister: Rosella Millsap, New Plymouth, Idaho; one sister-in-law: Norma Koehn, Atmore, Alabama; 32 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Mountain Valley Mennonite Church, 3588 E. Since she was a splendid cook, she enjoyed sharing hospitality and often had Sunday company. &nbsp;There were many opportunities to serve and she endeavored to serve the Lord in her varying responsibilities. Whether it was as a minister’s wife at our home congregation at Livingston, CA, and later at Willcox, AZ, or as a missionary in Mexico, Guatemala and El Mirage, AZ, she was a prayerful help in the work of the Lord. In 1988 we were asked to Pastor the small congregation in Willcox, AZ. We bought a farm there and lived on it until retiring in 1995.After retirement we lived for awhile in the nearby community of Sunsites. In 2007, we moved to Halstead, KS, and for a time lived off and on at both Willcox and Halstead. As Susie’s health began to decline, we settled more permanently in Halstead with Susie moving into the Moundridge Manor in December of 2015. Being a very determined and active person most of her life, she found it difficult to accept her inability to live independently, but the Manor staff very graciously endeavored to help through this time. Prior to March 2020, I was able to be with her and cherish those days we could spend together reading, praying and listening to the singing at the Manor. We shared life’s joys and sorrows together for seventy-one years. God has richly blessed our lives together, and for this we thank you, Lord!Susie was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Edward; her children: Milton and Lucille Schmidt, Pearce, Arizona; Clayton and Marilyn Schmidt, Buhl, Idaho; Frances and Lonnie Medina, Buhl, Idaho; Margaret and Kenneth Conley, Halstead, Kansas; Glenn and Linda Schmidt, Willcox, Arizona; Daniel and Ronda Schmidt, Willcox, Arizona; Karen and Murray Wiebe, Willcox, Arizona; one sister: Rosella Millsap, New Plymouth, Idaho; one sister-in-law: Norma Koehn, Atmore, Alabama; 32 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Mountain Valley Mennonite Church, 3588 E. Compadre Road, Willcox, Arizona, with viewing starting at 9:30 a.m..&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery. Arizona arrangements will be handled by the Westlawn Chapel &amp; Mortuary in Willcox, AZ. Moundridge Funeral Home is in charge of Kansas arrangements.
