
Ruth Marie Schrag, 83, passed away January 9, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born December 15, 1937, in Castleton, to Daniel B. and Esther Edith (Stucky) Schrag.
Ruth graduated from Adela Hale Business College, Hutchinson, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Grace University, Omaha, NE. Prior to her retirement, Ruth was the Secretary to the Registrar and became Assistant Registrar at Grace University. She served with Stonecroft Women’s ministries. Ruth was a long-time member of First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, serving as a Sunday school teacher, helping with AWANA, and participated in the women’s group at the church.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Harder, Polli Schrag, Leona Schrag, and Rosi (Don) Pahl; nephews, Jon (Amy) Pahl and Nate (Kimbra) Pahl; great-nephews, Caleb, Ryan, Cohen, and Finley Pahl; great-nieces, Ashley and Adleigh Pahl; aunt, Ellen Stucky; uncles, Ben Friesen, Harold Kaufman, and John Pauls; and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Schrag; and brother-in-law, Harold Harder.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at First Mennonite Church, 1718 W. Pretty Prairie Road, Pretty Prairie, with Pastor Everett Schultz and Dr. Don Pahl officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The wearing of masks will be left to the discretion of those attending the funeral service.
