Jolene Georgia Self, age 92 “has flown West" on July 27, 2020. Jolene was born in Clay Center, KS to Eva (Blanchette) and Leroy Friend and grew up in Salina, KS.

Some of&nbsp;Jolene's fondest memories included being a flight hostess for Trans World Airlines (TWA) where she was based in San Francisco and Kansas City. Jolene was married to Robert L. Self in&nbsp;December, 1952 and made their home in Hutchinson.

She is survived by her three children; Rhett Self of Hutchinson; Rolee Self- Kelly (Mark Citta) Council Bluffs, IA and Jonee Phillips (Jim) Auburn, KS and also special friend Rita Rivard-Carson of Hutchinson. 

Jolene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who passed in November, 1980. After his passing she spent time living in Chicago, Omaha and Dallas and returned to Hutchinson 10 years ago. During this time, she returned to working for TWA as a Quality Assurance Agent and volunteered at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; Jolene was a member of TWA Clipped Wings.

Private burial is planned at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County use&nbsp;or the Hutchinson Animal Shelter in care of the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 East 30th Avenue, Hutchinson, KS.

Melvon Darrell “Barney” Fike, 80, of Cape Fair, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020, in Moundridge, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His parents were Eli and Charlotte Corain (Hoyt) Nelson.

Darrell graduated from West High School in Wichita, Kansas. He was a route delivery driver for Pepsi Co. in Wichita where he raised his family. In his retirement, he moved to Cape Fair, Missouri. He worked for Walmart in Branson, Missouri.

Darrell married Carol Percival on March 30, 1962. She survives of the home.

Darrell loved fishing, boating, antique cars, motorcycles, and playing pinochle.

He is also survived by five children, Jayne Fike (Kenny Welch), Wichita, KS., James (Tina) Porter, Peck, KS., Hope Fike, Goessel, KS., Jason Fike, El Dorado, KS., and Angela Stucky, McPherson, KS.; grandchildren, Heather, Amber, Matthew, Bradley, Nakisha and Amanda; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Dean) Marshall; and sister-in-law, Marci Nelson, both of Wichita, KS.; and many nieces and nephews.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Iona (Fike) Monroe; and brother, Woodrow “Woody” Nelson.

Carlene Inez Huffman, 91, of Hutchinson, died July 25, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born October 21, 1928, in Utica, to Bert Carl and Lola Eunice (McBee) Acuff.

Carlene was a 1946 graduate of Cedaredge High School, Cedaredge, CO, and served as an Air Controlman WAVE 3rd&nbsp;Class, in the United States Navy, from March 1952 to December 1954. She was employed as a clerk for the City of Hutchinson, and retired as a bank teller from Hutchinson National Bank and Trust Company, in July 1985. Carlene volunteered for twenty years at the Cosmosphere International Science Education Center &amp; Space Museum, formerly known as the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Museum. She also was a twenty-year volunteer at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

On November 21, 1954, Carlene married Douglas Clair Huffman, in Grand Junction, CO. They shared over fifty-six years of marriage, prior to his death on November 8, 2011.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Huffman of Hutchinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Huffman; and daughter-in-law, Susie Hornbeck Huffman.

Cremation has taken place. To honor Carlene’s wishes, no services are planned.

Lannis Kahmeyer, 72, died July 24, 2020, at his home. He was born March 22, 1948, in Nashville, KS, to Leonard Kahmeyer and Velma (Knuth) Kahmeyer Lamb.

Lannis graduated from Nashville High School in 1966. For 42 years, he worked as a machinist at Cessna (later known as Eaton), retiring in 2014. Lannis enjoyed watching Wichita State University and Hutchinson Community College basketball games. His hobbies included golfing and making lighted Christmas decorations. Lannis’ favorite pastime was attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school and community events.&nbsp;

On March 3, 1979, he married Rebecca ‘Becky’ Anderson in Hutchinson. They shared 41 years of marriage.

Lannis is survived by wife, Becky; daughters, Karla Kahmeyer, Kristi Kahmeyer Laing (Richard), and Heather Starks (Jeremy); son, Josh Bether; sister, Vicky Goetz; brother, Lyle Kahmeyer (Shirley); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Kahmeyer; mother, Velma (Knuth) Kahmeyer Lamb; in-laws, Bob and Marianne Anderson; and brothers-in-law, Robin Anderson and Randy Goetz.

Dorothy Fulks died at home on July 23, 2020. Dorothy Lum Fulks was born in Drew, Mississippi on May 8, 1927. She was the daughter of Sidney Edward and Erma Ellen (Evans) Lum.

She married John Harvey Fulks in 1945, and they moved to Kansas in 1949. John and Dorothy had five children: Ellen, Sharon, Linda, Nancy, and John.

She became a teacher and taught first at Nickerson Elementary, then at McCandless Elementary until her retirement after 37 years. Her students still remember her unique lessons on bread making, butter churning, and sewing.

Dorothy was an avid reader and a life-long learner, taking classes during summers, on weekends, and by correspondence to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees from Emporia State University. She continued to add to her knowledge, even after receiving her college degrees; studying nature to become a Master Gardener, learning Japanese, Spanish, and Russian languages, even touring Russia and Europe with her husband, John.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was a member of Heart of Kansas Quilt Guild, inspiring the members with hundreds of quilts created and given to many. She joined the Honorary Teacher's sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma, and was a member for over 50 years.

Survivors include: children, Ellen (Joe) Wixom, Tucson, AZ, Sharon Fulks, Gardner, Linda (Jim) Parker, Hutchinson, Nancy (Louis) Crowl, Salina, John (Peggy) Fulks, Divide, CO; grandchildren, Laura, Jeremy, Charlie, Jenni, and Melissa; and great-grandchildren, Tobias and Colin (Nancy), Chandler, Daemon, Derrick, Jaelyn, Maddi, and Jake (John).

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John, of 60 years; as well as her parents; eight sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Jeanine Rishel officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2020, with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Marvin Rea Keyser, 72, of Hutchinson, died July 23, 2020, at his home. He was born March 16, 1948, in Hutchinson, to John O. and Ethel I. (Shinkle) Keyser.

Marvin graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966 and served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1974. He graduated from Hutchinson Community College in 1979 and received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University in 1981. Marvin worked 30 years for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services as a manager and trainer. He loved the Kansas State Fair as a kid growing up in Hutchinson. After retirement, he worked for the fair as the Ticket Taker Supervisor and as a Marketing Assistant at the 2019 fair.

He loved music of all kinds and HCC and KU men’s basketball. Marvin was a ‘punny’ guy with a dry sense of humor. He would now say, ‘I found Jesus . . . and He’s at home!’ Marvin was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.

In 1967, he married Billie Thrift. They divorced in 1985. On April 25, 1992, Marvin married Margo E. Lytton, in Wichita. She survives, of the home.

Also surviving are sons, Michael Rea Keyser (Kelly), Chad Roberts, all of Wichita; daughter, Cami Hoag (Sean), South Hutchinson; granddaughters, Morgan Faulds, Colorado, Madison Rea Keyser Koehn (Cory), Anaheim, CA, Xanth Roberts, Altus, OK, Shaundasey Hoag, Wichita, Saijah Cook-Roberts, Haysville; favorite grandson, Austin Hoag, South Hutchinson; three great-grandsons; brother, John Keyser (Gwen), Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Marie Keyser, Hutchinson; ex-wife, Billie Eberle, Oakley; lots of Lytton in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Steve.

Robert Alvin ‘Bob’ Trostle, Sr., 87, died July 23, 2020, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born August 23, 1932, in Wichita, to Melvin Porter and Olive May (Gallant) Trostle.

Bob graduated from El Dorado High School in 1950, and attended Phillips University, Enid, OK, and Friends University, Wichita. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and Europe from 1951-1955. Bob worked for AT&amp;T (formerly Southwestern Bell Telephone) as the area manager for installation and repair. He retired April 8, 1989, after 38 years of service. Bob was a lifetime member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68. In addition, he belonged to the Telephone Pioneers Association. Bob was a member of First Christian Church, El Dorado.

On February 25, 1954, Bob married Dona Faye Shields, in Weisbaden, Germany.&nbsp;

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dona; children, Terri Sherwood, Robert Trostle, Jr. (Michele), Pamela Holland (Jeff), and Lisa Uhl (George); 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and per Bob’s wishes, there will be no service. Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, is in charge of arrangements.

Bob was a lifetime member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68. In addition, he belonged to the Telephone Pioneers Association. Bob was a member of First Christian Church, El Dorado.On February 25, 1954, Bob married Dona Faye Shields, in Weisbaden, Germany.&nbsp;Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dona; children, Terri Sherwood, Robert Trostle, Jr. (Michele), Pamela Holland (Jeff), and Lisa Uhl (George); 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Cremation has taken place, and per Bob’s wishes, there will be no service. Thomas ‘Tom’ Carl Deines, 79, of Hutchinson, died July 22, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 29, 1940, in Hays, to Ruben and Lorrayne (Kobler) Deines.

Tom was a 1958 graduate of Trego Community High School and served nine years in the United States Navy. He retired as a letter carrier from the United States Postal Service and then retired from Arconic Aerospace in 2019.

Tom enjoyed tinkering in his shop and taking care of his lawn. He loved horses and retired as a horse farrier. Tom’s greatest love and most rewarding job, however, was being a husband, father and grandfather.

On August 10, 1985, Tom married the love of his life, Susie K. Lear, in Hutchinson. They shared over thirty-four years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Deines of Hutchinson; son, Troy (Kyla) Gaston of Point Clear, AL; daughters, Stacy (Chris) Cahoon of Stanton, ND, and Tammy (Ross) Clouston of Meriden; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Deines of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Rane, Ros, Tegan, Kenzie, Caysen and Carley; sisters, Karla Johnson of Manhattan, and Leslie (Kevin) Owen of Camdenton, MO; and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Lorrayne Deines; son, Tim Deines; brother, Alan Deines; and brother-in-law, Leary Johnson.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at his residence.&nbsp;

Cali Grace Stowell, five months old, died July 13, 2020. She was born February 4, 2020, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Kelly and Erin Stowell. 

In Cali’s short time, she brought tremendous joy to everyone that was blessed to meet her. She had the cutest little grin and she was absolutely perfect in every way.

Cali is preceded in death by her sister, Shelby Jane Stowell and great grandfather, Fay Smith.

She is survived by her parents, Kelly and Erin; sister, Brittany Stowell; grandparents, Gwen and Bryan Stowell and Sandi and Russ Crozier; great grandmothers, Beverly Smith and Mrs. George Sakai; many aunts, uncles, cousins and people that loved her.

Margaret K. Barrett, 81, died July 23, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born November 15, 1938, in Beloit, to Warren and Ava (Broadbent) Kelley.

Margaret graduated from Jewell High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crafts, reading, and leatherwork. Margaret’s greatest joy was making scrapbooks for her family and spoiling her four grandchildren.

On April 9, 1966, she married James ‘Jim’ Barrett in Jewell.&nbsp;

Margaret is survived by husband of 54 years, Jim of Hutchinson; children: Daniel Barrett (Wendy), and Michelle Silas (Dan), all of Nickerson; brother, Floyd Kelley (Paula) of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Stefani Barrett, Connor Barrett (Logan Gitchell), Caden Silas, and Gage Silas; and great-grandchildren, Piper and Skarlett Barrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; and a grandson, Logan Barrett.

 She was born on August 9, 1937, to Albert and Edna Bruce.&nbsp; She married 
Robert Mills in 1963 in Hoisington, Kansas. She worked as a nurse aide 
and retired from Clara Barton Hospital.

Carol is survived by her children;&nbsp;Terri Roberts of Wichita, Kansas,

Glen Lee Smith, 87, died Sunday, July 19,2020 at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born December 8, 1932 in McPherson, KS the son of Ray A. and Mildred Rump Smith. He was a graduate of Inman High School. He was a farmer and had worked for over 30 years at CertainTeed, McPherson.

Glen served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany. He was a member of the Groveland Christian Church, was an avid bowler and Yahtzee player, and was a KU Jayhawk basketball fan.

Survivors include a brother, Howard (Vivian) Smith, McPherson; a sister, Helen Regehr, Inman; brother in law, Gene Meek, Little River; sister in law, Mary Jane Brunk, South Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Smith; a sister Gladys Meek; and two brothers in law, Arthur Regehr and Ivan Brunk. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Inman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at N. Inman Cemetery. Milford D. Wedel, age 91, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at his home.&nbsp; He was born September 26, 1928 in a farmhouse in Galva, Kansas, to Hilkie P. and Lena (Wedel) Wedel.

He attended grade schools in Galva and McPherson and high school in Potwin and Moundridge, all in Kansas.

Milford’s family moved to Los Angeles, California during the height of World War II for a short time.

After moving back, he married Jane Anne Regier on February 6, 1948 in Moundridge, Kansas. &nbsp;They were blessed with 73 wonderful years together.&nbsp; Three children were born to this union, Susan Kay, David Ray and Danna Gay.&nbsp; He and Jane lived in Moundridge until his retirement in 1991, after working 43 years at the Moundridge Journal/Ledger as a printer and later advertising manager.&nbsp; They then moved to Grove, Oklahoma to enjoy living on Grand Lake where he and Jane had weekend get-aways for many years prior to retirement.&nbsp; After 20 years on the lake, they moved to McPherson.&nbsp; They have been members of the West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge.

Milford loved music.&nbsp; He got his first guitar at the age of 7.&nbsp; He was taught to play rhythm correctly by his father.&nbsp; He sometimes got a light tap on the head with a violin bow if he wasn’t getting it just right.&nbsp; He played his first paying job in 1938 with his father, brother and another local fiddle player and violin maker in McPherson for $1 – quite a sum for depression times.

Milford performed with his brother, Clayton, at local movie theaters and PTA meetings in country schools in the area.

In 1939 at the age of 11, Milford entered a contest sponsored by Royal Crown Cola.&nbsp; First prize was a 4-week spot on KSAL radio station in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; He won the finals with the song “Back in the Saddle Again” (Gene Autry) and a Bob Wills’ song “Sugar Moon”.&nbsp; The job paid $9 a week and it cost $6 a week to be driven from McPherson to Salina.

He later went on to play at numerous Legion Halls, VFW’s and Elk and Moose Lodges in the central Kansas area.&nbsp; Milford played in several different bands – “Flying V Boys”, “Country Men”, the “Chapperals”, “Southern Comfort” and “Doc McCready’s Lost Creek Band”.&nbsp; He was guitar player, vocalist and composer.

On October 1, 2000, Milford was inducted into the Western Swing Society Hall of Fame in Sacramento, California.&nbsp; He shares this honor with such performers as Gent Autry, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Bob Wills, Spade Cooly, members of the “Sons of the Pioneers”, Leon McAuliff, Merl Haggard, Jana Jae and many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, Clayton Dean Wedel.

Milford is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; daughter, Susan Leonard (Joe) of Hutchinson; son, Dave Wedel (Mindi) of McPherson; daughter Danna Owens (Scott) of McPherson; grandchildren, Shelly Helm (Troy), Highland Ranch, CO., Rhonda James (Jon), Pawnee, OK., Todd Leonard (Michelle), Overland Park, KS., Tisha Hoover (Jason), McPherson, KS., Chad Wedel (Jill), McPherson, KS., Kindra Schmidt (Craig), Moundridge, KS., Chance Pearson (Heidi), McPherson, KS.; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and other cousins and a host of friends.

Milford “Mil”, as he was known by many, was a people person and made many long-lasting friends along the way.&nbsp; He will be missed by all who knew him.

Wedel, age 91, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at his home.&nbsp; He was born September 26, 1928 in a farmhouse in Galva, Kansas, to Hilkie P. and Lena (Wedel) Wedel.He attended grade schools in Galva and McPherson and high school in Potwin and Moundridge, all in Kansas.Milford’s family moved to Los Angeles, California during the height of World War II for a short time.After moving back, he married Jane Anne Regier on February 6, 1948 in Moundridge, Kansas. &nbsp;They were blessed with 73 wonderful years together.&nbsp; Three children were born to this union, Susan Kay, David Ray and Danna Gay.&nbsp; He and Jane lived in Moundridge until his retirement in 1991, after working 43 years at the Moundridge Journal/Ledger as a printer and later advertising manager.&nbsp; They then moved to Grove, Oklahoma to enjoy living on Grand Lake where he and Jane had weekend get-aways for many years prior to retirement.&nbsp; After 20 years on the lake, they moved to McPherson.&nbsp; They have been members of the West Zion Mennonite Church, Moundridge.Milford loved music.&nbsp; He got his first guitar at the age of 7.&nbsp; He was taught to play rhythm correctly by his father.&nbsp; He sometimes got a light tap on the head with a violin bow if he wasn’t getting it just right.&nbsp; He played his first paying job in 1938 with his father, brother and another local fiddle player and violin maker in McPherson for $1 – quite a sum for depression times.Milford performed with his brother, Clayton, at local movie theaters and PTA meetings in country schools in the area.In 1939 at the age of 11, Milford entered a contest sponsored by Royal Crown Cola.&nbsp; First prize was a 4-week spot on KSAL radio station in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; He won the finals with the song “Back in the Saddle Again” (Gene Autry) and a Bob Wills’ song “Sugar Moon”.&nbsp; The job paid $9 a week and it cost $6 a week to be driven from McPherson to Salina.He later went on to play at numerous Legion Halls, VFW’s and Elk and Moose Lodges in the central Kansas area.&nbsp; Milford played in several different bands – “Flying V Boys”, “Country Men”, the “Chapperals”, “Southern Comfort” and “Doc McCready’s Lost Creek Band”.&nbsp; He was guitar player, vocalist and composer.On October 1, 2000, Milford was inducted into the Western Swing Society Hall of Fame in Sacramento, California.&nbsp; He shares this honor with such performers as Gent Autry, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Bob Wills, Spade Cooly, members of the “Sons of the Pioneers”, Leon McAuliff, Merl Haggard, Jana Jae and many others.He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling, Clayton Dean Wedel.Milford is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; daughter, Susan Leonard (Joe) of Hutchinson; son, Dave Wedel (Mindi) of McPherson; daughter Danna Owens (Scott) of McPherson; grandchildren, Shelly Helm (Troy), Highland Ranch, CO., Rhonda James (Jon), Pawnee, OK., Todd Leonard (Michelle), Overland Park, KS., Tisha Hoover (Jason), McPherson, KS., Chad Wedel (Jill), McPherson, KS., Kindra Schmidt (Craig), Moundridge, KS., Chance Pearson (Heidi), McPherson, KS.; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and other cousins and a host of friends.Milford “Mil”, as he was known by many, was a people person and made many long-lasting friends along the way.&nbsp; He will be missed by all who knew him.Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 at West Zion Cemetery, Moundridge, KS. Margie M. Kaufman, 87, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Pine Village. She was born March 12, 1933 in Moundridge, the daughter of Jonas H. and Anna (Kaufman) Vogt.

She graduated from Moundridge High School. After high school, she went on to work as a medical office assistant at Moundridge Clinic. Margie worked there for her entire career.

She was a member of Eden Mennonite Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Margie was on the founding board of the Moundridge Library. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, and jigsaw puzzles. Margie loved decorating and preparing meals for holidays, especially Christmas. Above all, Margie loved her family. She was always spending her free time attending her children and grandchildren’s activities.

Margie was united in marriage to Darrel D. Kaufman on May 31, 1953 in Moundridge. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2006.

She is survived by her daughters, Belinda (Jack) Galle of Pratt, and Sandy Stephenson (Roger Kampling) of McPherson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma (Jim) Neufeld of Richfield, MN, and Ellen Stucky of Moundridge; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Vogt and Bonnie Kaufman, both of Moundridge.

Margie was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcy Stucky; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Galle; sisters, Letha Ediger and Evelyn Goering; and brothers, Weldon Vogt, Marlin Vogt and Kenneth Vogt.

Private family services will be held at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2020 at Moundridge Funeral Home; the family will not be present. Dale Eugene Honeck, 74, of Park City, KS, passed away July 20, 2020, at Avita Assisted Living, in Wichita, KS. He was born March 8, 1946, in San Diego, CA, to Cecil and Hazel (Hobbs) Honeck. Dale’s father served in the United States Navy, and the family moved several times throughout the United States, before he graduated from Marshalltown High School in Iowa, in 1964, where he excelled in baseball and basketball. Dale went on to play both sports at Marshalltown Community College and Wartburg College in Waverley, IA, then attended the University of Virginia, where he received his master’s degree. After graduation, Dale began coaching at Albemarle College on Roanoke Island, North Carolina. In 1974, while coaching basketball at Southwest State University, Marshall, MN, he met Mary Peterson, who also worked at the school. They married on May 31, 1975, and had two daughters together.

Dale spent his career in education, having a passion for teaching government and history, and coaching basketball at both high school and college levels in several states, before settling down in Kansas, where he became a high school principal in Hugoton, for nearly ten years, then Hillsboro, where he retired. After a sixteen year hiatus, he returned to coaching for one season while serving as the principal at Hillsboro, stepping in as head coach for the girls’ varsity basketball team and leading them to a 1st place state title in 2007. Dale was a doting grandpa to his grandkids, loved telling stories, and making them laugh. In his retirement, Dale spent his time attending their many school and athletic events, taking his dog on daily walks, keeping up with politics, NCAA basketball, and going to Wichita State University women’s volleyball and basketball games with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Barbara Fulcher. Dale is survived by his wife, Mary of Park City, KS; daughters, Amy Jones (Trey) of Nickerson, KS, and Kate Honas (Craig) of Morrison, CO; grandchildren, Hunter, Ava, and Creek Jones; brothers, Mark Honeck of San Diego, CA, and Paul Honeck of Little Rock, AR; and sister, Becky Manship of Conrad, IA.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Gary Getting officiating. Ann Lancaster passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Friday July 17, 2020. She was surrounded in love by her four children and husband.

Ann was born on December 16, 1944 near the Great Smokey Mountains in Telford, Tennessee. She was raised on a tobacco farm alongside her sister Jean and brother Rufus. After graduating from Washington College Academy, she attended post-secondary school in Washington DC. Ann later relocated to Kansas where she raised her four children and settled down with the love of her life, Keith Kahrs.

She retired as a buyer for Cargill Salt in 2005 after 23 years of work, where she coined her favorite phrase, “heighth of pissitivity.” Ann was a force to be reckoned with and could not be stopped. During her retirement she enjoyed travelling, spending time with her family, and working at Kroger. However, some of her favorite hobbies included antiquing, going to the casino, cooking, playing the piano by ear, and crafting. Ann will always be remembered for her sass, wit, and spunk. Most people go through life simply existing, but Ann knew how to live. 

She is proceeded in death by her mother and father, Ruby and Steve Tipton. Her infant brother David, older brother Rufus, and grandson Tate.

She is survived by her husband Keith Kahrs, her five children: Kim Longacre, Angie Harper, Daemon Lancaster (Marti), Jeremy Karhs (Jennifer), and Meagan Lancaster. Her 10 grandchildren: Cory Longacre, Brian Bernard (Kelsey), Lexi Longacre (Ric), Micaela Garcia, Evan Kahrs, Tyler Brawner, Alexia Lancaster (Jaieden), Emma Garcia, Sydney Lancaster, and Elias Lancaster. Her eight great-grandchildren: Jalen, Kai’son, Aria, Jaydon, Jossilyn, Lucianna, Vaughn IV, and Melina.

A celebration of life for Ann will be held at the Dillion Nature Center Community Room from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. on July 26, 2020. 3002 E 30 th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.

Vincent Michael Cooper, 62, died July 18, 2020, at his residence. He was born February 19, 1958, in Hutchinson, to Merrill Clayton and Veronica Jo (Martines) Cooper.

Vince was a 1976 graduate of Mitchell High School, Colorado Springs, CO, and a 1982 graduate of Metro State College, Denver, CO. He was the Information Technology Director at REPCO – McShares, Inc., Salina.

On July 15, 2020, Vince married Christine Marie Gumeson, in Hutchinson.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Cooper of Hutchinson; sons, Jeremy (Melissa) Cooper of Joplin, MO, and John Cooper of Denver, CO; father, Merrill Cooper of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Cyndie (Frank) Blankenship of Dothan, AL, and Sarah Cooper of Colorado Springs, CO; four granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; one aunt and one uncle of Missouri; and numerous cousins of Missouri.

Vince was preceded in death by his mother, and grandparents, Silas and Odessa Cooper.

Michael Eugene and Delinda Lea Kaufman, both 67, of Hutchinson, died July 14, 2020, in an accident west of Concordia. Michael was born October 16, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Victor Herman and Joan Eileen (Hanselman) Kaufman. Delinda was born May 10, 1953, in Hutchinson, to Darold L. and Donna L. (Tillery) Baker.

Michael and Delinda were 1971 graduates of Nickerson High School. He was employed for twenty-two years with the City of South Hutchinson Police Department, retiring in 2006. Michael then went to work in security at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Delinda worked as a Certified Medications Aide (CMA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for various medical facilities in the Hutchinson area.

They were married on June 23, 1972, in Hutchinson. Michael and Delinda shared over forty-eight years of marriage.

Michael and Delinda are survived by their children, Brandon (Lori) Kaufman of Amarillo, TX, and Karisa Kaufman of Wichita; grandchildren, Cassie Kaufman-Danks, Hanna Kaufman, Ethan Alexander, Garrett Kaufman, and Hunter Kaufman; Michael’s father, Victor Kaufman; Michael’s two brothers and one sister; and Delinda’s two brothers and two sisters.&nbsp;

Michael was preceded in death by his mother. Delinda was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.

David James Bottomley, 68, died July 17, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born February 7, 1952, in Wichita, to Robert J. ‘Bob’ and Charlene L. (Nichols) Bottomley.

David graduated from Wichita Southeast High School and the University of Kansas. He was a salesman for Feist Publications for many years following his experience at Bob Bottomley Olds, Cadillac, Datsun Dealership and Midwest Ford.

On June 16, 1995, David married Mary Kay Brown in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are stepson, Jason Weilert (Nicole), St. Petersburg, FL; stepdaughter, Tisha Weilert (Cole Allaman), Lakin; step-grandchildren, Bailee Weilert, Hutchinson, Lawson Beymer, Tipton and Paxton Allaman, all of Lakin, Lily Jackson, Springfield, MO; and step-great-grandson, Jaxton Cooper, Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Robert C. and Steven N. Bottomley.

Cremation has taken place. A Come-and-Go reception will be held at Kay’s home from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2020. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Leona Omega Teague, 79, died July 17, 2020, at Hospice House. She was born October 1, 1940, in Mulberry, Kansas, to Walter Hamilton and Ruby (Burke) Hamilton Aten.

Leona attended West High School in Wichita. She worked as a cook and housekeeper. Leona was an avid reader, seamstress, master cook and baker, and loved music and to sing. Her proudest job was the title of ‘MOM’. Leona was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a lifelong follower of Christ, Bible trivia scholar, and continued to be a witness, even as her health declined.

On May 26, 1961, she married Burns Melburn Teague in Medford, OK. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage.

Leona is survived by husband, Burns; children, Rhonda Sample (Robert), Delilah Teague, Annette Hubbs, Gregory Teague (Janet), Alice Schmidt and Kelly Millett (Chris); brother, Marion ‘Pete’ Hamilton; 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; and son-in-law, Lester Hubbs.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at New Hope Baptist Church, 4815 E. 4th, Hutchinson, with Pastors Brian Lee and Christopher Millett officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.&nbsp;

Edwin ‘Dick’ Wiens, 90, of Hutchinson, died July 16, 2020, at Legend of Hutchinson. He was born August 13, 1929, in Inman, to Henry and Katie (Regehr) Wiens.

Dick joined the United States Navy on March 2, 1952, and served in the Marshall Islands during the Korean War, transporting and observing atomic bomb testing in the Pacific. He spent his life working as an electrician. Dick was active in metal detecting, wood carving, and the Electrical Workers Union. He served on the Board of Directors of the Delos V. Smith Senior Citizen Center, was active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and the Senior Sheriff’s Patrol for many years.

On February 16, 1957, Dick married Wanda Friesen, in Hutchinson. They shared 61 years of marriage before she passed on May 21, 2016.

He is survived by daughter, Tina Kirkpatrick and husband Chris Latimer, Hutchinson; son, Mike Wiens, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Lisa Byard, Jesse Vieyra, Bobbi Jo Kulbiski, Shana Arzate, Angie Wiens-Stout, and Michelle Wiens; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Susie Mitchell, McPherson, Betty Warkentin, Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Wiens; and seven siblings.

Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in North Inman Cemetery, with military honors being conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 and Tuesday, July 21, 2020, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Albert Raya, 83, died on July 13, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS. He was born May 23, 1937, in Hutchinson, KS, to Francisco and Luz (Castor) Raya.

Albert enlisted in the United States Army on June 1, 1955 and was honorably discharged on May 16, 1958. After being discharged he spent another eight years in the Army Reserve. On April 12, 1962 he married Olivian Monares. They later divorced. He later met his longtime friend Rosmary Davalos. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
