
Donald Paul Hiebert, 80, of Goessel, Kansas, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Newton Medical Center. He was born Sept. 19, 1940 in Goessel, the son of Paul M. and Sara (Janzen) Hiebert.
He graduated from Goessel High School with the class of 1959.
Donald worked as a welder and crew chief for Hesston Corporation and AGCO for 43 years, retiring in 2003.
His hobbies included flying ultralight planes and R.C. airplanes, and motorcycle riding. Donald also sang in several quartets.
He was united in marriage to June Ratzlaff on Sept. 11, 1960 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his son, DeWayne (Amy) Hiebert of Middletown, Connecticut; daughter, DeVon (Craig) Abbas of Newton; four grandchildren, Derek Brown, Kaley Brown, Sophia Hiebert and Rachel Abbas; brothers, Norman (Marcia) Hiebert and John (Bertha) Hiebert; and two sisters, Mary (Larry) Lindeman and Bonnie (Sid) Ratzlaff, all of Goessel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Sara Hiebert.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery, Goessel. Friends may call from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel.
