
Winifred Jean Nienke, 88, of Inman, died January 9, 2021, at her home. She was born September 12, 1932, in Ellsworth, to Roy W. and Jane G. (Cowie) Kelley.
In addition to being a homemaker, Jean worked many jobs over the years, retiring as cook at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was known for her wit and love for her family. Jean enjoyed baking and crafts of all kinds. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, where she was active in LWML.
On September 3, 1948, Jean married Leonard Nienke, in Lyons. He died May 3, 2010.
Surviving are children, Stephen Nienke (Shandra), Georgia, Richard Nienke (Mary), Dubuque, IA, Ronald Nienke (Debi), Hutchinson, Tammy Wright (Mike), Buhler, Kelly Nienke, Pratt, Tara Griffin (Bob), Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Tonya Nienke, Hutchinson; 25 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy Nienke; grandchildren, Angela, Teresa, Jason and Joshua Nienke.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th Ave., Hutchinson. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Kanopolis Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
