Georgeanna Dott Chaffin Keesling, 77, of Hutchinson, passed away Jan. 12, 2021. She was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Liberal, to Paul and Zoeme (Morrell) Chaffin, of Moscow. She grew up on the farm south of Moscow.

Georgeanna attended Moscow Grade School, Hugoton Grade School, and Hugoton High School, graduating in 1961. She attended Lindenwood College for Women, St. Charles, Missouri, then Kansas University, graduating in 1966 in business administration.

Georgeanna worked for Shield of Shelter Insurance, Columbia, MO, as a farm fire underwriter and computer programmer for three years. She then worked for Illinois State University, Normal, IL, as a computer programmer for five years. Georgeanna then worked for Eaton (Cessna), Hutchinson, as a computer programmer, retiring in 2001 after 25 years.

On November 25, 1994, she married George Keesling, at Tenth Street Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

Georgeanna was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Rainbow for Girls, Alpha Delta Pi Social Sorority, and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.

After George retired in 2002, they spent their winters in Del Rio, Texas. George fished and Georgeanna taught line dancing lessons. They also started helping with the wheat and corn harvests in Moscow. They went camping and four-wheeling with their neighbors. Sometimes as many as five campers would head off to Colorado, Missouri, or Oklahoma.

She is survived by husband, George Keesling, Hutchinson; niece, Lisa (Randy) Wilson, Colby; nephew, Eric (Gina) Fox, Rockwall, TX; brother-in-law, Robert Fox, Moscow; great-nieces, Cassie Cole, Gabby Wilson; great-nephews, Christian Wilson, Max Fox; great-great-nephew and niece, Emmett and Reese Cole; step sons, Dennis (Wynell) Keesling, Sheridan, WY, Roger (Donna Peterson) Keesling, Starkville, MS, Lyle Keesling, Tuscon, AZ, James Keesling, Fredericksburg, VA; ten step grandchildren, 15 step great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Georgeanna was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Paula Fox; and uncle, Grant Morrell.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Larry Brock officiating.
