LeNae’s life began sooner than expected on May 16, 1987, in Wichita, Kansas. She was very premature at 2lb and two ounces, but defied the odds and came home in a Cabbage Patch Doll outfit two months later. Her family called her PeeWee.&nbsp; 

She is the daughter of Kenneth H. Nelson, Jr, and Dayla (Dodson) Nelson. Growing up LeNae was a definite tomboy and enjoyed climbing trees, playing in the dirt, going to work with her dad in the gasfield and playing with her cousins and her friends. LeNae was baptized as a young teenager at the Christian Church in Florence. Her school years included Chase County Elementary, then Marion County during her high school years and graduated from Peabody High School in 2005. She went on to obtain her CNA, and then CMA license. In 2007, LeNae and Shaun Nelty had a son, Ian Morris, who was the pride and joy of her life. After Ian was born in 2007, she worked as a CNA/CMA at Peabody and Hillsboro. 

She married Josh Clevenger in 2013 and added son Bailey and daughter Emily to her family. LeNae was all about family - and once you were family, you were always family. Although this marriage ended in divorce - family was still family. LeNae went back to school and got her LPN license and graduated in 2021 from Flint Hills Community College in Emporia. Soon after, LeNae and her son Ian, moved to Enid OK. There, she worked as an LPN for Carter Healthcare as a Home Health nurse. She loved her job and her clients and began making plans to study for her RN degree. Enid is also where she met the love of life, Shannon Willson.&nbsp; LeNae and Shannon were so in love and thrilled to have found each other and were busy planning and looking forward to the rest of their lives together.

LeNae was a caregiver at heart, loving her family, her extended family, and her friends - and her clients. She loved her pets. She was always bringing stray “anything and everything” home - from snakes to birds to cats to puppies! She loved taking care of them. She also loved to travel, kayak, garden, can, fish, camp and just anything outdoors. She loved taking care of her family, and watching Ian and Bailey grow up, do well in school, and play sports and other activities.

She is survived by Shannon Willson, of the home, her mother, Dayla Nelson of Florence, father Kenny Nelson of Marion, children Ian Nelty of Enid, and Bailey Clevenger of Boston, MA, and her sister Christina Nelson of Kansas City, and Grandmother Judy Dodson, Emporia, and a host of many extended family and friends.

LeNae was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, “Grandma Barb” and grandpa, Kenneth Nelson, Sr., her maternal grandparents, Dale and Jeris Dodson, great grandmas Goldie Dodson and Clarice Hale, stepfather, Greg Troxell, uncle, Keith Nelson, aunt, Connie Dodson Reid, and cousin, Jeris Wunderlich.

Patricia’s life began on March 17, 1938, in Kansas City. She is the daughter of Don and Irene (Rindt) McCoy. Patricia was united in marriage to Richard Uhlig on September 26, 1959, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kansas City.

She was a special education schoolteacher for several years while her husband completed his medical school training and later was the office manager for his medical practice. Patricia was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Herington and had participated in ELCA women. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and served on the Herington School Board for years. Patricia enjoyed owning her gift shop “OMG Gifts” in downtown Herington as much for the fun things she sold as for the chance to visit with everyone who came in the shop.

&nbsp;She and Richard enjoyed travelling and seeing the world together. Her greatest joy was her family especially her husband of 63 years Dr. Richard Uhlig, DO of Herington; her two children Jerri (Kurt) Kemble of Lawrence and Richard ( Dr. Heather) Uhlig of Pordenone, Italy; grandchildren Max Kemble and Hanna ( Mick) Dalton, both of Lawrence and Logan and Jett Uhlig of Pordenone, Italy; and her cousins Vonnie Neiderwimmer, Judy Russell, and Sharon Alexander; and family friend Fred Wenthe of Germany.

Evelyn (Schmidt) Hensley passed away peacefully on June 29,2023 at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield, at the age of 104.

Evelyn was born in Durham Park Township in Marion County, Kansas to Reinhardt and Julia (Nuss) Schmidt, on January 22, 1919. She was baptized into the Christian faith on March 25, 1919. In 1927, the family moved to a farm south of Tampa. Her mother died very unexpectedly two years later, leaving the family devastated.

Evelyn attended elementary and high school in Tampa, Kansas graduating in 1937. As a young woman, she worked in area restaurants and as a housekeeper and cook for a Wichita family. On June 24, 1944, she married James Hensley at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tampa. Once all her children were in school, she worked at Havlik Grocery and George's Market. In later years she worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk in Tampa and Post Master in Durham. She retired in September 1984 following 22 years of service. In retirement, Evelyn and Jim enjoyed winters in Weslaco, Texas until he died in 1986. With the help of her children, Evelyn continued to be a Snowbird for many years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, Sunday School and VBS teacher, 4-H leader, hospital Pink Lady and volunteer EMT. She was a life long Lutheran with membership at St. John's, Tampa and Trinity Lutheran, Winfield. In 2003, Evelyn moved to Winfield, Kansas to be closer to her family. At the age of 99 she discontinued her favorite hobby of sewing quilts for missions.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Gary Utt, granddaughter Kelly (Utt) Naegele and her seven siblings: Esther Schmidt, Ruth Klein, Harry Schmidt, Edna Vajnar, Ida Backhus, Frieda Klein, and Reinhardt Schmidt.

She is survived by her children: Jim (Lisa) Hensley of McKinney, Texas, Rita Hensley (Charles Quinn), Pam (Lawrence) Moreno and Julie Utt all of Winfield, Kansas. Grandchildren: Charles (Danielle) Quinn Jr., Benjamin Quinn, David (Mary) Bruner and John Utt. Great grandchildren: Elasah Quinn, Micah Quinn, Hananiah Quinn, Addy Bruner, Shawn Naegele (Renee Padilla), Ryan Naegele, Aria Utt and Dawson Utt. Karen L. Thompson, 73, died July 22, 2023, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, KS. She was born February 28, 1950, in Great Bend, KS, to Russell Lee and Arline Lucille (Byers) Thompson.

Karen was a 1968 graduate of Great Bend High School. She attended Salt City Business College and Hutchinson Community College, formerly Hutchinson Community Junior College. She was employed as a Senior Data Entry Operator at Eaton Hydraulics and Far-Mar-Co/Farmland Industries, both located in Hutchinson, KS. In 1990, Karen began a career in the insurance industry, working at various insurance agencies located in the Hutchinson area, and retired with many years of service.

She was a member of the Mid-Kansas Insurance Association, serving as the president from 2003 to 2004. Karen was also a member of the National Council of Insurance Women. She attended the First Christian Church in Great Bend, KS.&nbsp;

Family was most important to Karen. She enjoyed needlework, crochet, and knitting and shared her artwork with family and friends. Karen loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed spending time with her sister at her home and her many animals. Karen had a cherished group of friends with whom she participated in numerous activities.

She is survived by: her sister, Janis (Robert) Battey of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Kirk (Stephanie) Thompson of Topeka, KS; nieces, Kim (Dan) Oborny and Mandy (Paul) Schroeppel; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023, at the Great Bend City Cemetery, 4500 Broadway, Great Bend, KS. Joyce Unruh, 83, passed away June 22, 2023 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.  She was born September 14, 1939 in Hillsboro to Albert and Irma (Richert) Duerksen. 

 She married Harold Unruh August 23, 1959 at Alexanderwohl Church rural Goessel.  Survivors include: sons, Jeff (Barb) Unruh of Walton, Mike (Jodi) Unruh of rural Goessel; brothers, Dennis (Norma) Duerksen of Goessel, Donley (Carol) Duerksen of rural Goessel; sister, Zenora Gard of Newton; 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mauri A. Zumalt, 31, of Nickerson, died July 21, 2023, at her home in Nickerson. She was born March 3, 1992, in Wichita, to Keith and Betty (Beeney) Zumalt.

Mauri graduated from Pleasantview Academy, Hutchinson, and Hutchinson Community College with an associates’ degree. She had a wide array of interests. She studied biochemical engineering at K-State University, and had a vast interest in science, where she received many awards.

Mauri loved Colorado and always had a dream to move there. She would spend her time painting landscapes, mountains and rivers. She spent every summer of her childhood and most of adulthood going to Colorado with her family and spend every day on the river and in the mountains.

She knew how to speak German and some French. Mauri had a talent for writing and enjoyed writing books and poetry. She could play guitar, piano, and the harmonica. Larry E. Dossett, 61, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at his residence. He had been battling cancer for the past three years.&nbsp;

Larry was born on June 9, 1962, in McPherson, KS, the son of Anson William and Eleanor Elaine (Newman) Dossett. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1980 and furthered his education at Kansas State University and Garden City Community College.&nbsp;

He was a bull rider in the rodeo circuit for 25 years. He also worked in fabrication at Moridge Manufacturing for 15 years and was a cook at McDonalds for 30 years.

He attended the McPherson Free Methodist Church.

On July 16, 2005, Larry was united in marriage to Pauline M. Johnson at the McPherson Free Methodist Church.&nbsp;

Survivors include: his loving wife, Pauline of the home; father, Anson (Peggy) Dossett of McPherson, KS; a brother, Keith Dossett of McPherson, KS; two sisters, Darla (Jeff) Jenkins of Las Cruces, NM and Susan Dossett of McPherson, KS; a brother-in-law, John Johnson of McPherson, KS; three nephews; three nieces; one great-nephew; and many more extended family members and friends.&nbsp;

Lawrence Duncan “Larry” DeCou, 83, died July 19, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born July 15, 1940, in Lindsborg, to Donald Frank and Marguerite (Meyer) DeCou.

Larry graduated from Manhattan High School in 1958 and Kansas State University in 1962. For 13 years, he taught woodworking at Central Junior High School before embarking on a new career as a manager at Kightlinger Lumber and later in sales for Star Lumber. Larry enjoyed antique cars, collecting clocks, and woodworking. He designed and constructed most of the furniture in his home. For 60 years, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On July 27, 1963, he married Karen Sue Jester, in Manhattan.

Larry is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Karen; son, Mark DeCou; daughters, Lori Bryan (Darrell) and Mindy Hayes (Eric); grandchildren, Rachel DeCou, Riley DeCou, Zachery Bryan, Abigail Bryan, Gwyneth Hayes, and Barrett Hayes; and great-grandson, Derek.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Donald Frank DeCou, Jr., and Robert Duane DeCou; and daughter-in-law, Shelli Ann DeCou.

Robert Lester “Bob” Burns, 78, died July 21, 2023, surrounded by family, at his home in  Wichita. He was born July 12, 1945, in Wichita, to John Raymond Horney and Bertha Naomi (Cavanee) Burns.  

Bob graduated from Wichita East High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University.  He worked in law enforcement most of his life, retiring from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department after 27 years.  Bob was a charter member of Wichita, Kansas FOP Lodge #5 and the “Blue Knights”.  He enjoyed basketball, riding his motorcycle, and woodworking.  Bob was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. He never missed a game dressed with his cheese head, cheese tie, and Nelson jersey. Above all though, he was his family’s greatest fan; Bob loved his family unconditionally.  His grandchildren and great-grandchildren always knew Papa would be there for them, in both the peaks and valleys of life. 

On July 23, 1977, he married Sharon Reese, in Wichita.

Roberta B. Shogren, 93, passed away on July 22, 2023 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler, KS. 

She was born November 29, 1929 in Ralston, OK, the daughter of Bob and Harriett Bell. Roberta married Dennis E. Shogren on August 26, 1948 in Emporia, KS. They were married 64 years before he passed away in 2012. 

Roberta graduated from Emporia High School and attended Emporia State University. She enjoyed spending her free time golfing, playing tennis and playing bridge. She was a world class bridge player, attending and playing bridge all over the world. Roberta was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. 

Survivors include her nephews, Stephen (Stormy) Shogren, Richard (Marilyn) Shogren and Evan (Sharon) Lindquist; niece, Katherine Shogren; and special friends, Gene and Pat Buxton and Wayne McMurray. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dennis. 

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, with Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating.

Roberta B. Shogren |1929-2023|

Kevin Craig “Chewey” Kay, passed away on July 11, 2023 in Marion, Kansas after a valiant battle with cancer. &nbsp;He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on August 5, 1958 to Richard Kay and Jacqueline (Ouellette) Kay. &nbsp;He was a lifelong resident of the road. &nbsp;He had limited formal education but obtained his education from a life spent mostly on two wheels. &nbsp;He lived in Rhode Island, Maine, North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri and spent nearly 20 years in Kansas.

Chewey enjoyed motorcycles and all events and people that it entails. &nbsp;He was truly a free individual and a free spirit. &nbsp;He was a giving soul: he organized food drives for the elderly and homeless, cleaned up graffiti on underpasses and such that children had to pass through, he opened an arcade, during one of his periods of settling down albeit temporary, for kids so that they wouldn’t be out running the streets. &nbsp;He moved to Kansas, where he met his love, the woman who finally got him to settle down (well sort of), Julie Scheideman and they shared nearly 17 years of love together. &nbsp;Chewey loved and accepted her children (Levi Anderson, Joey Anderson and Robyn Anderson) as a part of him as well. &nbsp;He loved spending time with his family: watching movies, going antiquing, thrift store shopping, doing yard work or taking them for rides on his motorcycle. &nbsp;

Chewey was employed as a maintenance man for Homestead Affordable Housing. Through his employment, he met and acquired many new friends who he absolutely adored. &nbsp;He had a great work ethic and always believed that if you were going to do something, do it well or don’t do it at all. &nbsp;He also believed that a person should always be learning, if he didn’t know how to do something, he would research it until he did. &nbsp;

He had such a magnetic personality and people were just drawn to him. &nbsp;He never met a stranger. Once he met you, you were his friend, often for life. &nbsp;He was a shooting star and the night sky will be much darker without him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father Richard, sister Kimberly, step-father Ray, uncle Bob and aunt Judy and numerous biker brothers and sisters. &nbsp;

He is survived by Julie of Marion, Levi of Marion, Joey of Phoenix, Robyn of Wichita, his sister Karen of Rhode Island, his brother Billy of Rhode Island, his mother Jackie of Rhode Island, his brother biker Sean “Diggs” of Missouri, and numerous friends, biker brothers and sisters from everywhere.

Chewey never wanted a funeral or memorial service (just not his style) but he wanted everyone he loved to come together for a party. &nbsp;His 65th birthday would have been August 5. &nbsp;There will be an Unbirthday/Celebration of Life for him on that day at Julie’s home at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated in his memory to the American Cancer Society.

 </figure>Kevin Craig “Chewey” Kay, passed away on July 11, 2023 in Marion, Kansas after a valiant battle with cancer. &nbsp;He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on August 5, 1958 to Richard Kay and Jacqueline (Ouellette) Kay. &nbsp;He was a lifelong resident of the road. &nbsp;He had limited formal education but obtained his education from a life spent mostly on two wheels. &nbsp;He lived in Rhode Island, Maine, North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri and spent nearly 20 years in Kansas.Chewey enjoyed motorcycles and all events and people that it entails. &nbsp;He was truly a free individual and a free spirit. &nbsp;He was a giving soul: he organized food drives for the elderly and homeless, cleaned up graffiti on underpasses and such that children had to pass through, he opened an arcade, during one of his periods of settling down albeit temporary, for kids so that they wouldn’t be out running the streets. &nbsp;He moved to Kansas, where he met his love, the woman who finally got him to settle down (well sort of), Julie Scheideman and they shared nearly 17 years of love together. &nbsp;Chewey loved and accepted her children (Levi Anderson, Joey Anderson and Robyn Anderson) as a part of him as well. &nbsp;He loved spending time with his family: watching movies, going antiquing, thrift store shopping, doing yard work or taking them for rides on his motorcycle. &nbsp;Chewey was employed as a maintenance man for Homestead Affordable Housing. Through his employment, he met and acquired many new friends who he absolutely adored. &nbsp;He had a great work ethic and always believed that if you were going to do something, do it well or don’t do it at all. &nbsp;He also believed that a person should always be learning, if he didn’t know how to do something, he would research it until he did. &nbsp;He had such a magnetic personality and people were just drawn to him. &nbsp;He never met a stranger. Once he met you, you were his friend, often for life. &nbsp;He was a shooting star and the night sky will be much darker without him.He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father Richard, sister Kimberly, step-father Ray, uncle Bob and aunt Judy and numerous biker brothers and sisters. &nbsp;He is survived by Julie of Marion, Levi of Marion, Joey of Phoenix, Robyn of Wichita, his sister Karen of Rhode Island, his brother Billy of Rhode Island, his mother Jackie of Rhode Island, his brother biker Sean “Diggs” of Missouri, and numerous friends, biker brothers and sisters from everywhere.Chewey never wanted a funeral or memorial service (just not his style) but he wanted everyone he loved to come together for a party. &nbsp;His 65th birthday would have been August 5. &nbsp;There will be an Unbirthday/Celebration of Life for him on that day at Julie’s home at 3:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated in his memory to the American Cancer Society.Baker Funeral Home Valley Center is in charge of arrangements. Juan Manuel Burciaga-Rodriguez, 69 passed away at home July 18, 2023. He was born March 8, 1954 in Morieleno,&nbsp;Chihuahua&nbsp;Mexico to Cruz Burciaga&nbsp;and Exiquia Arrieta Rodriguez.

He had a large loving family that consisted of his wife, Cheri (Lewis) who preceded him in death; his twin sister Juana Burciaga-Rodriguez; other siblings, Rafael Burciaga-Rodriguez, Celestino Burciaga-Rodriguez, Alejandra Burciaga-Rodriguez, Aureliza Burciaga-Rodriguez, Clara Maria Burciaga-Rodriguez&nbsp;and Rosa Burciaga-Rodriguez; 35 nieces and nephews and numerous other family members.

Juan was a talented minor league baseball player and had a lifelong passion for baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his great friends. He profoundly missed being able to spend more time with his family.

He retired&nbsp;from the City of Hutchinson where&nbsp;he worked 31 years.&nbsp;

Juan was a very hard working, generous, amazing man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gavin D. Phillips of Wichita, Kansas passed away on&nbsp; July 6th, 2023 &nbsp;in Wesley Medical Center surrounded by his family.&nbsp; On March 26th, 2004, he was born to April Phillips and Tony Erskine.&nbsp; Gavin attended middle and high school in Valley Center, Kansas before completing his GED on his own. He lived in Park City, Kansas and parts of Wichita, and Nebraska until adulthood.&nbsp;

Gavin was a man full of life, he lived his life to the fullest everyday. When he walked into a room the mood seemed to brighten. He had a way with words and could befriend anyone after a few minutes in conversation. He worked to be the best brother, husband, and son he could everyday. Gavin enjoyed the little things in life like fishing and was extremely good at it. He also valued time with his family and always listened to good music. He was called a gentle giant by many and had a heart of gold.

He is preceded in death by his mother April Phillips.

Gavin is survived by his wife Dena Phillips, siblings T.J, Adian, and Macy (Jay), and father Tony Erskine.

Ryan Gene Simpson, 58, was taken too soon on June 10, 2023, in Fort Scott, KS, as the result of a motorcycle accident. &nbsp;He was born October 29, 1964, in Kingman, KS to Terry and Norma (Warfield) Simpson.

Ryan graduated from Haven High School in 1983, and received his associate’s degree from Hutchinson Community College. He was employed for over 30 years at the Kroger/Dillons Distribution Center, working most recently as a perishable warehouse associate and trainer for new employees. Ryan was a long-standing member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 795. Ryan enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, taking trips on it with his wife, and making new friends wherever they traveled. He never knew a stranger. Above all, Ryan cherished time spent with his family and was an adoring “Papa” for his two grandchildren, Memphis and Addison. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

On February 14, 1987, he married the love of his life, Cynthia Newquist, in Hutchinson, KS at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ryan is survived by: his wife of 36 years, Cindy Simpson of Hutchinson, KS; daughter, Makenzie and son-in law Nick Messer and grandchildren Memphis and Addison of Manhattan, KS; son, Zach Simpson of Denver, CO; parents, Terry and Norma Simpson of Hutchinson, KS; sisters, Robin and brother in-law Mike Murphy of Dallas, TX and Kathi and brother in-law James Craig of Wichita, KS; in-laws, Harry and Maxine Newquist; brother-in-law, Mike and sister-in-law Annetta Newquist, all of Hutchinson, KS; and many cherished nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Memorial service for Ryan will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th Avenue, Hutchinson.

Bonnie M. Johnson, 93, died July 19, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born October 19, 1929, on Patterson Ranch, near Maitland, MO, to Rollie and Colene Margaret (Butzer) Landess.

On December 22, 1950, she married Daryl H. Johnson Sr., in Maitland. They had four children together, Daryl H. Johnson Jr., infant daughter (died at birth), Lorna B. Foster, and Jocelyn Elaine Johnson, who died in January, 1968. Later, Bonnie and Daryl got a divorce, but remained friends.

She attended North West Missouri State College after graduating from Maitland High School in 1947. Bonnie taught in Andrew and Holt County, MO schools for 9 years. She graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 1969.

Bonnie’s teaching career started in a single room school house. Nearby farmers would take turns driving Bonnie to the school house to teach their children ranging in age from 1st grade to 8th grade. She told her family of one particular instance where a farmer had to take Bonnie across the river. Later, Bonnie taught English and reading across the United States of America, including: Interlaken, NY; Gallup, NM; Blytheville, AR; and Neosho, MO. She retired from Neosho School District in 1994, teaching a total of 33 years. Bonnie’s love for teaching didn’t stop there - she was a substitute teacher for several years, tutored, and led the Volunteen program at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Bonnie found great joy leading the Volunteen program. She would throw pizza parties, give Christmas cards, write letters of recommendation so they could get scholarships, and no one went without a birthday gift.

Bonnie was a bookworm and a wordsmith. She was an avid reader. Scrabble was a hobby of Bonnie’s. It was always interesting to play with her. Bonnie’s grandchildren remember her bringing a 1950’s thesaurus to the game. If the word wasn’t in her thesaurus, it wasn’t a word. Bonnie enjoyed playing Word Search, Yahtzee (which she would often cheat during), and doing crossword puzzles. She liked to watch her old westerns on TV. Bonnie loved to have milk and cookies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was always something sweet to eat at Grandma’s house. Bonnie will be remembered as a loving, loyal, and devoted mom, grandma, and great-grandma, with a forgiving spirit.

In 1973, she was named to Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America. Bonnie was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma (Alpha Epsilon Chapter) Teacher’s International Society, Neosho. Bonnie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

Bonnie is survived by: daughter, Lorna B. (Frank) Foster, Hutchinson; son, Daryl H. Johnson Jr., Carthage, MO; grandchildren, Sean Johnson, Jocelyn M. Shank, Aaron Johnson, Amy Buford, Tony Johnson, Jocelyn C. Holmes, Sarah Crowe, and George Foster; 11 great-grandchildren; cousins, Freddie Butzer, Maitland, Jeannie Reed, St. Joseph, MO, and Janis Kay “Sis” Waggoner, California; nephew, Eric Landess, Kansas City, KS; nieces, Jannelle Landess, Washington, and Britte Landess, St. Joseph, MO.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughters, Jocelyn Elaine, and infant daughter, Baby Girl Johnson, who is buried on Chincoteague Island, VA; and brother, Billy Wayne Landess.

Cremation has taken place. Private graveside service will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mound City, MO. Friends may sign the book from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary.

Elizabeth Louise Camp, 64, of Hutchinson,&nbsp;Kansas, died at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center July 12, 2023. She was born January 6, 1959 in Hutchinson, Kansas to James Gilbert and Joyce (Stoughton) Bass.&nbsp; Elizabeth graduated from Hutchinson High School. She then began to work in the medical field as a CMA for her career life. She always loved helping and taking care of others.&nbsp;

On October 13, 1981 she married Samuel Camp, Las Vegas, Nevada. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Nicole Gilbert, Jacqueline Garcia; son-in-law, Gilberto Garcia; 9 grandchildren; siblings, James Gilbert, Steven Gilbert, Sandy Lynn Barale, Linda Gilbert; and an extended family who loves her.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her daughter, Tiffany Ratzlaff.&nbsp;

Carl G. Wenger, 84, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mercy Hospital. He was born May 26, 1939 in Goessel, Kansas, the son of Harry D. and Gladys (Koehn) Wenger.

He was united in marriage to Deola Becker on January 31, 1960 in Galva, KS. She survives of their home.

Carl lived in Walnut Hill, Florida from 1970 through 2001 then spent his retirement years in Hesston. He was a member of Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Hesston. Carl was a farmer and was also known for his mechanical skills.

He is also survived by his son, Bryan Wenger and his wife, Andra of Hiawatha, KS.; two daughters, Debbie Mininger and her husband, Kevin, and Sharla Koehn and her husband, Mike, all of Walnut Hill, Florida; brothers, Franklin (Karen) Wenger of Moundridge, Lee (Vivian) Wenger of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister, Grace (Wayne) Wenger of Dalhart, Texas; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Waldon Wenger and Galen Wenger.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Hesston. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, July 24 at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Carl was a farmer and was also known for his mechanical skills.He is also survived by his son, Bryan Wenger and his wife, Andra of Hiawatha, KS.; two daughters, Debbie Mininger and her husband, Kevin, and Sharla Koehn and her husband, Mike, all of Walnut Hill, Florida; brothers, Franklin (Karen) Wenger of Moundridge, Lee (Vivian) Wenger of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister, Grace (Wayne) Wenger of Dalhart, Texas; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Waldon Wenger and Galen Wenger.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Hesston. Kyle Frank Hulet, 72, died July 20, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born August 23, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Frank Alexander and Virginia Frances (Hartmann) Hulet.

Kyle was a life-long resident of Hutchinson. He had a heart of gold and a strong work ethic. &nbsp;Kyle worked in the office for various businesses, include his grandfather’s company, M.W. Hartmann Manufacturing, and his sister’s Drum School. &nbsp; In addition, he enjoyed listening to country music and watching Lawrence Welk. &nbsp;Known for his flirtatious and friendly personality, Kyle was always ready for a party, especially if it involved dancing. &nbsp;He was an avid fan of WWE SmackDown, and enjoyed watching both the men and women wrestle. &nbsp;Kyle was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, where he robustly sang hymns, including solos.&nbsp;

Kyle is survived by: &nbsp;his loving and devoted sister, Ginger Zyskowski; nephews, Michael Zyskowski (Gina Jamison), Andrew Zyskowski (Serena), and Jamie Zyskowski, all of Seattle, WA; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-niece.

David James Clinger, 66, of Hutchinson, Kansas died peacefully in his home on Thursday, July 13, 2023. David was born the son of James B. and Margaret (Peggy) Clinger on October 6, 1956 in Colby, Kansas.

David was a true lover of aviation. He worked for several airline/aviation companies including Cessna, Raytheon, Bizjet, and Avcon Industries. His “life’s work” was spent on jets as an A&amp;P Mechanic, and eventually he worked his way up to Pre-Flight Jet Aviation Inspector. He was truly proud of knowing that no jet he ever inspected ended up as a “lawn dart.” He also loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and putting together his model airplanes, jet’s, ships, and submarines.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his only sibling, brother, Philip J. Clinger. David is survived by daughters Jenny Gilmore of Omaha, Nebraska, Alex Wonka and Jordan Crager, and his beloved cat, Lili Ann.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Brenda E. Johnson, 61, was born May 22, 1962, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2023. She was born in Greensburg, KS, to her beloved parents, John W. and Lucille (Dill) Johnson.

Brenda is survived by: her significant other, Robert Loven of Braggs, OK; sons, Joe Loven of Nickerson, and Steven Johnson of Hutchinson; grandson, Xander Loven of Nickerson; sister, Carolyn Johnson of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark Alan Loehr, 69, died July 16, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS. &nbsp;He was born September 9, 1953, in Wichita, KS, to John Lester and Martha Marie (Hilger) Loehr.

Mark was a 1971 graduate of Haven High School, Haven, KS. &nbsp;He was employed by Panhandle Eastern Pipeline as an Operator A, retiring in 2013 with over 35 years of service.

On November 27, 1974, Mark married his high school sweetheart, Bobbie Gayle Venters, in Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;They shared over 34 years of marriage, prior to her death on July 16, 2009.

Ralph Harvey Geist, 84, died July 20, 2023, at Reflection Living Senior Living Home, Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born July 25, 1938, in Hutchinson, KS, to Everett Harvey and Emma Alveretta (Thompson) Geist.&nbsp;

Ralph was a 1956 graduate of Plevna High School, Plevna, KS. &nbsp;Early in his life, he worked at Cessna, operated a gas station in Sterling, KS, farmed on the side, and sold new cars for Chevrolet. &nbsp;In 1970, he opened his own car dealership, where he sold a variety of vehicles and equipment. &nbsp;Ralph began selling recreational vehicles in the 1990s and continued until his retirement. &nbsp;He attended Salt City Cowboy Church, South Hutchinson, KS.

Ralph enjoyed flying, racing cars, fishing, hunting, and buying and selling just about any type of vehicle or piece of equipment that had wheels and tires. &nbsp;He had a servant’s heart and liked to help people. &nbsp;Ralph’s greatest love was when he was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On May 1, 1961, he married Doloris Emily Nitengale, in Arlington, KS. &nbsp;They shared over 62 years of marriage.

Ralph is survived by: his wife, Doloris Geist of South Hutchinson, KS; daughter, Cindy (Kelly) Schmucker of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Rachelle (Shannon) McKay, Jordan (Julie) Geist, Matt (Victoria) Brock, Susan (Taylor) Morris, Shanae Schmucker, and Clay Schmucker; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen (Harold) Davidson of McPherson, KS, and Sherrill (Dick) Slifer of Plevna, KS; and daughter-in-law, Stephany (Elliot) Laib of Fort Worth, TX.
