Mona Chantel Toney, 22, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 in Wichita, KS. She was born December 22, 2000, in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Phillip Simpson II and Rica (Toney) Simpson.

Mona loved to sing. She participated in choir where she received numerous awards for group choir and solos. She was a jokester, always cracking a joke to make someone laugh or smile. Mona was a good story teller, and would always over exaggerate a story to make it even better. She was firecracker and didn’t tolerate too much of anything, but most of all she was very loving. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mona was preceded in death by her grandmother, Monica Toney and great grandfather, Alphonso Toney Jr.

She is survived by her father, Phillip Simpson II; mother and step-father, Rica Simpson and Hashiem Ford; eight siblings, Phillip Simpson III, Kamora Manuel, Addison Manuel, Jamie Ford, DeMonte Simpson, Hashiem Ford, Amira Simpson and Amara Simpson; grandmother, Candace Ford; great grandfather, Richard Logan Sr.; great grandmother, Lillian Terry, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Pastor Candace Ford officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family present from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The family has asked that memorials be made out to Rica to help offset funeral expenses and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.

Louis Leroy Robinson passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 with his family by his side. Lou was born on May 22, 1934 to Tom and Mabel Robinson near Bogue Kansas.&nbsp;

After graduating high school from Downs, Kansas he went to Emporia State where he met and married Barbara Moore in 1958. They moved to Hays in 1962 where he worked for Golden Belt Wholesale until he started his own business – Robinson’s Color Center which later became Hearth and Home Center. As a kitchen designer, he really asked questions to find out how the customers lived in their space to personalize his design work. After retirement he worked in the maintenance department at Fort Hays State University. In 2004 Lou and Barb moved to Hutchinson to be close to grandchildren.

Lou worked hard throughout his life and could fix just about anything. He shared his time and talents with family - traveling with his tools to complete honey-do-tasks during visits. He served his communities by participating on boards, coaching youth, and involvement in his church. &nbsp;He was always passionate about working with kids throughout his life as a father, uncle, coach, youth mentor and the best papa ever! He became Lucky Lou on a trip to India in 2012 and if you were fortunate enough to have met him, he passed luck on to you with a firm handshake and a smile.

Lou is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 65 years and his 3 children Mark Robinson (Stephanie) of Lawrence Kansas, Lisa Robinson Johnson (Craig) of Spain and Hays, Julia Robinson Johnson (Kirk) of Hutchinson; 9 grandchildren, Lee, Alex, Spenser, Corbin, Walker, Claire, Lydia, Wyatt and Winston; and 4 great-grandchildren, Ariana, Jackson, Xander and Brigham who are a blessing and were blessed by their beloved Papa; and 3 sisters, Shirley Schoen, Fredrica Murphy and Rosalie Bliss. Robert “Bob” Dean Carlson, 68, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital, Wichita.&nbsp; Bob was an auto mechanic for Consolidated Motors and Ken Goering Motors and retired from Pfizer where he was a production equipment specialist.

Bob was born on May 23, 1955, in Herington, KS, the son of Dale Lee and Delores Elizabeth (Miltz) Carlson.&nbsp; He graduated from Centre High School in Lost Springs, KS in 1973.&nbsp; On September 15, 2001, Bob was united in marriage to Brenda Sue (Parks) Nading in McPherson.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Brenda of the home; children, Jeffery Carlson of Herington, KS, Jennifer Foote (Josh) of Hudson, KS, Emma Lauer (Jason) of St. Augustine, FL, and Andy Nading (Kaysi) of Lindsborg, KS; brothers, Kevin Carlson (Roxanna) of McPherson, KS and Mike Carlson of Herington, KS; mother-in-law, Adella Parks of McPherson, KS; 14 grandchildren, Brittney Schrag, Baylee Schrag, Brayden Schrag, Amaya Sneeth, Eli Foote, Kaden Foote, Jerrett Lauer, Juliette Lauer, Traetyn Foote, Jace Lauer, Jillian Lauer, Axton Nading, Kynnidy Foote, and Keelyn Nading; and many extended relatives and friends.

Judith was greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on October 26, 2023. 

She was born on December 17, 1944 in Argonia, Kansas to Ernest and Lockie Moyer. Judy graduated from Argonia High School, completed a bachelor’s degree from Friends University, and a master’s degree from Emporia State University. In August of 1959 her family was involved in a tragic car accident which took the lives of her father and her grandmother. Judy and her mother were seriously injured and in her words, “Life would never be the same.”

On December 23, 1967 she married Lewis Stark. Judy continued to teach special education and Spanish in the Wichita school system until 1976. This was followed by a second career in real estate. She and Lewis loved children and had a lasting impact on many young people during the years they served in foster care, Newton Weekday Bible School, Newton Nazarene children’s church and the church bus route.

Education was very important to Judy. She was active and involved in the education of their two sons, Brian and James and was honored for her service to the Newton Chisholm Middle school families. She was a faithful contributor to a number of causes she believed deserving of her support including serving on the board of the Harvey County Habitat for Humanity for a period of time. She loved gardening, reading, genealogy, playing games, and do-it-yourself projects. Her competitive spirit and “can-do” attitude was evident to the end.

However, throughout her life Judith’s walk of faith was of the utmost importance. Through the decades, Judy and Lewis had years of active membership at Wichita First Church of the Nazarene, Wichita Asbury Methodist and Newton Nazarene. In her autobiography she recalls the preaching of an evangelist by the name of Annie Laurie Griner. Referring to Rev. Griners’ message she said, “She made knowing and loving Jesus so real that I wanted to know Him like she did.” Judy’s life was spent doing just that. In her words, “I hope that when I get to the end of my life and people are reading my obituary that they will think of my love of my God, my husband, and my family as my most important attribute.”

Judith is preceded in death by her husband Lewis of 54 years, her parents and her siblings. She is survived by sons Brian and James Stark, three step-daughters, LaRita (Gene) Schandorff, Jo (Rocky) Lamar, Mary (Chris) Swan, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly and prayed for daily.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Presbyterian Manor and Good Shepherd Hospice for their kind care and attention for Judy in the past year. A service of celebration will be held November 5 at 4:00 PM at Newton Nazarene Church. Ruth Leona Stiggins died October 27, 2023, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, at the age of 96. She was born on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, 1927, at the family farm home, southwest of Arlington, to Henry E and Ines Vivian (Miller) Ravens.

Ruth attended Pleasant Valley Country Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of Arlington High School. In 1947, she married CPO Albert Pittman Jr. and travelled with him in his tour of duty at many Navy bases. On September 23, 1960, Ruth married Charles W. Stiggins in Wichita, KS. He died December 23, 1988.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1955, she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and Heart of Kansas Quilt Guild. Ruth was employed as a bookkeeper and clerical worker. Volunteering kept her busy after Charles died. She loved to travel, garden, play the piano, quilt, and her church.

Ruth was preceded in death by: parents; both husbands; infant son, Allen Dale Pittman; brothers, Chester, Floyd, Paul, and Robert.

Survivors include: son, Curtis Stiggins, Newton; daughters, Karin (Malcom) Gillette, Hutchinson, Diane Miller, Fayetteville, AR; brother, Glen (Charlene) Ravens, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Jeremy Stiggins, McPherson, Carol (Andy) Cooper, Maize, Jessica Miller, Lawerence, Jennifer Miller, Fayetteville, AR and Melissa (Lindsey) Lawrence, Gravette, AR; eight great grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.

LuCinda 'Cindy' Whitenack went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2023, after a battle with a rare respiratory illness.

Cindy was born October 4, 1961, the first of four children born to Dennis and Bonnie Strasser. She grew up in Peabody, Kansas and was a 1979 graduate of Peabody High School. After graduation she attended Hesston College where she received an Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing. Cindy was fortunate to continue nursing until April, 2023. Her love for nursing revolved around medical and cardiac patients.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Peter Paul, son Bruce, grandchildren Phenix, Brody and Kalyb, great grandchildren Alaiah and Lucas; her siblings Tony Strasser (Carol) of Mesa, AZ, Denise Starkweather (Dan) of Hoyt, KS and Travis Strasser of Wichita, KS.&nbsp;She will be greatly missed by her three nieces, nephew, great niece and great nephews, a host of friends, co-workers, anuts and many cousins.

Ruth Taber passed peacefully into Heaven on October 17, 2023 in Newton, Kansas. She was was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 2, 1935.&nbsp; Her birth name is Ruth Ingeborg Aslagsen. Her family surname was later changed to Allison from Aslagsen. Her maiden name was Ruth Ingeborg Allison. Her father was Sverre Albert (Aslagsen) Allison. He was born in Norway. Her mother was Ella Inglis Peach.&nbsp; She had one sister, Ella Dagny Claussen who precedes her in death.

Ruth was married to Stephen Clarke Taber in 1954. They had 61 happily married years together until his death in 2015.They were married on June 6,1954 in Bloomfield, NJ. Her religious affiliation was Episcopalian.&nbsp;

Ruth and Steve moved to West Milford, NJ in a beautiful lake community. This lovely area is where they raised their 3 young children. After 15 years, the cold and snowy winters caused them to move to Pompano Beach, FL.

Ruth had a passion and great talent for decorating. She studied early American antiques and and became very knowledgeable on the subject. Everyone knew that she was a wealth of information on the history of American antiques. She started her own small business called Quaker Hill Antiques which she did for many years. She loved “antiquing” and the buying and selling of these treasures.

When Steve retired from his job, they moved up to New Smyrna Beach, FL and had a lovely home on the water. She continued her antique business in New Smyrna Beach. They lived there for 20 years until her husband’s death.&nbsp;

Ruth was deeply loved by her family and her friends. She was known as having a big heart and a very generous nature. Friends and family knew that she was always available to listen and to give wise advise. Wherever she lived, her home always had beautiful furniture, paintings and artful objects to delight the eye. She loved having her friends and family over to visit anytime. There are many happy memories of her grandchildren visiting her Florida home. She loved having teatime with cookies and conversing with each of her grandchildren. She taught them to play chess which she learned from her father. She loved her family deeply and in return was loved deeply by her children and grandchildren. Ruth had a very full and happy life surrounded by love.&nbsp;She now is with her beloved husband, Steve, in Heaven. She had a full life well lived. Ruth will be deeply missed by her family and friends and always remembered.

Ruth has 3 surviving children, Katherine Taber, Stephen Taber and Kenneth Taber. She has 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. P. Russell Miller, 80, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, surrounded by family at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Pearl Russell Miller was born June 7, 1943, in Independence, Kansas to Rose Alice and Pearl Wilson Miller.

Russell went to school up to the 8th grade at Gypsum, Kansas. He enlisted into the Marines at age 16.

On March 5, 1966, in Marquette, Kansas, he married Doris Ann Swabby.&nbsp;They were blessed with two children, Debra Ann and David Russell.

They lived in Salina, Kansas for seven years where Russell worked at Golf Truck Stop, Sinclair Service Station, and later at Farm Bureau as a truck driver delivering farm supplies throughout Kansas. He moved his family to rural Rice county and continued to assist his father-in-law with farming. He had also worked at S-G Diesel Power in McPherson and at Little River Manufacturing,&nbsp;a firm that made airplane parts. In 1992, he became an owner of his own service station, Miller's Service Station. In 2000, he went to work for Turkey Creek Farm in Moundridge, delivering newly hatched turkeys to places in mid America. He later drove a delivery truck for Stutzmans Greenhouse in Pleasantview, Kansas.

In 2017, Russell and Doris moved from the family farm near Windom to Hutchinson, Kansas where he finally retired.

Russell's hobbies were farming, fishing, hunting, automobile mechanics, and loving his dogs, Mitzy and Brownie. He treasured his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Doris, mother, father, and brother, Charles Miller.

Survivors are children, Debra and Tim Skalinder, David Miller and Brenda Barber; sister, Carrolyn Henry; grandchildren, Dakota and Rebecca Skalinder, Alie and Andrew Durst, and Josie Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Kenna, Bryson, and Delani.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 2, at Excelsior Cemetery, Marquette&nbsp; Kansas.

She married Elmer L. Wall on November 18, 1951, in Hutchinson. He passed away July 31, 1997. &nbsp;

Dorothy graduated from Reno Community High School, Nickerson, KS in 1950. &nbsp;

She was a bookkeeper for Payway Feed Mill in Hutchinson and Clasen-Morse Chevrolet Dealership in Overland Park, KS, 13 years before moving to Edmond, OK. She was a 30-year member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and belonged to the Epsilon Xi chapter in Hutchinson, KS, 12 years and Epsilon Rho chapter in Overland Park, KS, for 18 years. She held office of president several times in her chapters, other offices over the years as well as serving on different committees. She was named Outstanding Woman of the year, and was Zone 2 Chairman within the organization in Overland Park, KS. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hutchinson and served on several church committees in cities where she lived.&nbsp;

Her husband worked 42 years with Campbell Taggart Associated Bakeries (Rainbo Bread) in Hutchinson with Betts Baking Co. as Controller and transferred to different places ending up in Edmond, OK. She was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church Edmond, OK, before returning to Hutchinson attending First Church of the Nazarene. &nbsp;

Her hobbies included Bridge, Oil painting, Quilting, Scrapbooking, and endless crafts. She enjoyed playing with her great grandchildren whenever she could and visiting with family and friends. &nbsp;

Gerald Ralph Rawlins, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his home in Newton, Kansas, with family by his side. He was born on October 10, 1934, in Straight Creek Township, Kansas, to Herbert Ralph and Ellen Arvenda (Cannon) Rawlins. He was raised in Straight Creek Township and Whiting, Kansas, attending country school and graduating from Whiting High School.

Gerald married June McDevitt in Whiting on March 6, 1953, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in March. They moved to the Wichita area soon after where they raised their son, Tim, and daughters, Terry, Trudy and Tracie.

He worked at Boeing as a machinist for most of his career. While there, he worked on B47, B52 and 737 planes and the Saturn 5 rocket while in Alabama and Louisiana for a time. He retired from Boeing in 1990 and moved to the southwest desert area where he continued to work as a machinist fabricating items for casinos and later building ultralight airplanes and gyrocopters. His true joy was as a Square Dance Caller 1970 to 1987 in the Wichita area and throughout Kansas. He had a great singing voice, was an excellent caller, and was beloved by the square dancers, many of whom became lifelong friends. &nbsp;He also enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family. His family and friends will greatly miss his strength, kindness, and love for all, and his family wishes to thank the Gentiva Hospice staff for their wonderful care of him in his final months.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert &amp; Ellen (Cannon) Rawlins, and his sister, Lois (Rawlins) Trotta.

Gary Wayne Nelson, 83, died October 17, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born October 5, 1940, in Webster, KS, to Perry J. and Louise E. (Wallgreen) Bray, Jr.

Gary worked on the line for General Motors. &nbsp;After retirement, he stayed busy with part-time jobs, including Ineeda Cleaners and Roberts Hutch-Line. &nbsp;Gary enjoyed playing bingo, the Lottery, and golfing. &nbsp;In addition, he made his own greeting cards, wrote children’s books, and was currently working on a novel. &nbsp;Above all, Gary was a devoted father and grandfather. &nbsp;He fostered an unconditional love for his daughters and grandchildren, overcoming the heartaches of his own childhood.

Gary is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Rebecca Caramagno (Brett) of Summerville, SC, Sandra Benko (Karl) of Knoxville, TN, and Amy Johnston (Joshua) of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Misty Powers (Jake), Matthew Gross, Emily Rajaee (Mason), Eric Benko, Kennedi Benko, Courtney Ward (Robert), and Trevor Johnston; and three great-grandchildren; Timothy Powers, Penelope Powers, and Parker Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Per Gary’s wishes, there will be no service. &nbsp;Cremation has taken place.&nbsp;

(Wallgreen) Bray, Jr.Gary worked on the line for General Motors. &nbsp;After retirement, he stayed busy with part-time jobs, including Ineeda Cleaners and Roberts Hutch-Line. &nbsp;Gary enjoyed playing bingo, the Lottery, and golfing. &nbsp;In addition, he made his own greeting cards, wrote children’s books, and was currently working on a novel. &nbsp;Above all, Gary was a devoted father and grandfather. &nbsp;He fostered an unconditional love for his daughters and grandchildren, overcoming the heartaches of his own childhood.Gary is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Rebecca Caramagno (Brett) of Summerville, SC, Sandra Benko (Karl) of Knoxville, TN, and Amy Johnston (Joshua) of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Misty Powers (Jake), Matthew Gross, Emily Rajaee (Mason), Eric Benko, Kennedi Benko, Courtney Ward (Robert), and Trevor Johnston; and three great-grandchildren; Timothy Powers, Penelope Powers, and Parker Ward.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.Per Gary’s wishes, there will be no service. &nbsp;Cremation has taken place.&nbsp;Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. On November 26, 1948, she married Harold Junior Milburn, in Clayton, NM. &nbsp;He died September 24, 2014, after they shared almost 66 years of marriage.

Verna is survived by: &nbsp;son, Michael W. Milburn (Laura Kuehn-Milburn) of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter-in-law, Martha Green Milburn; grandchildren, Christopher L. Roberta June Pogue, 66, passed away October 24, 2023 at Hospice House of Hutchinson. She was born October 10, 1957 in Beloit, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin and Marjorie (Kralicek) Stussy.

She graduated from Haven High School in 1975.

Roberta married Dennis Pogue at Haven, KS.

She was a homemaker. Roberta was of the Baptist faith. She loved needle point embroidery and was an avid reader, with true crime stories being her favorite. Roberta especially loved spending time with family including her neice and nephew.

She is survived by her brothers, Perry (Darla) Stussy of Burrton, KS., and Larry Stussy of Haven, KS.; niece, Mandy (Omar) Wespe of Hutchinson, KS.; and nephew, Daniel (Jessica) Stussy, of Haven, KS.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dennis.

Cremation is planned. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Bethany Cemetery, Hunter, Kansas.

Carmen Rodriguez, 102, of Hutchinson, died October 25, 2023, at Legend Senior Living. &nbsp;She was born September 1, 1921, in La Puerte Del Monte, Estado De Guana Juato, Mexico, to Francisco and Maria (Rosas) Almanza.

In addition to being a homemaker, Carmen worked as a house manager and personal assistant for the O'Sullivan family in Hutchinson for many years. She also served as caregiver to her extended Almanza and Rodriguez families. Carmen was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and served in the Ladies Altar Society for many years. She also was a member of Francisco I. Madero Socierty and Sociadad Reprecentativa Mexicana (SRM). Carmen was an excellent cook and was known for her famous muffins. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo.

On November 21, 1942, she married Bacho Rodriguez, in Newton. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage before his death on September 6, 2000.

Carmen is survived by: her children, Gilbert Rodriguez (Julie) of Hutchinson, Mary Bezy of Fort Worth, TX, Robert Rodriguez of Hutchinson; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Salas and Lupe Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Raymond Almanza of Denver, CO, Frankie Almanza (Romey) of Hutchinson; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; stepmother, Felis Ponce Almanza; sisters, Veronica and Lola; and brothers, Jessie and Daniel.

David Austin Rupp, 85, of Moundridge, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, October 24 at Pine Village after a short illness of acute myeloid leukemia.

Dave was born in Upland, CA on April 29, 1938 to Wilson J. and Loraine (Bellatti) Rupp. At the age of two, he moved to the family farm northeast of Moundridge where he resided the remainder of his life. The farmstead was named a Century Farm. He attended Farms School until the 8th grade. He graduated from Moundridge High School in 1956.

He married Charlene Moddelmog on August 31, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Canton, KS. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. To this union two daughters were born, Kathy and Dawn.

He was a farmer and raised registered Duroc hogs. In 1979, he started Rupp Machine which he operated for 43 years. He did repair work for neighbors and did short run jobs for local companies. Dave helped organize and served on the board of Marion County RWD #4 for 35 years and did maintenance for another 10 years. He served on the McPherson County Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canton, where he was involved in several positions on the church council over the years including the Fellowship Hall Building Committee. He was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League. In his younger years he enjoyed high diving and water skiing. In later years, his pastimes included reading, crosswords, and watching old television shows.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene of the home; daughter, Kathy (Clif) Heiniger, Fairview, KS., and Dawn (John)Yonke, Alma, KS.; four grandsons, Austin (Kendall) Heiniger, Fairview, Ks., Brian (Anne) Heiniger, Overland Park, KS, Cale Heiniger (Jessica Geiger), Austin, TX., and Caden Yonke, Alma, KS.; four great-grandsons, Caleb, Jackson, Simon, and Lincoln Heiniger; one great-granddaughter, Claire Heiniger and another great-grandchild due soon; brother, Ken Rupp of Camargo, IL., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Diane Rupp and Connie Moddelmog; brothers-in-law, Dwight Moddelmog and Robert Moddelmog; and nephew, Bo Moddelmog.

Daniel K Dauber, 65, lost his hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer on October 23rd, 2023. He was born May 5, 1958, in Hutchinson to Carl Jr and Leona Dauber.

Dan was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Some of his favorite times were spent on the banks of the Smoky Hill River in search of monster catfish.

Dan was preceded in death by his father and infant brother, Raymond.

Dan is survived by his mother, sisters, Tena Dauber, Sheri (Terry) Gaskill, Nancy (Charles) Tucker, brother, Dave (Diana) Dauber, nephews, Adam (Tracy) Tucker, Steve Dauber, and nieces, Laura (Jade) Schiewe and Emily Rowe. He took great joy in his great nephews and nieces, Jaden and Brookelyn Rowe, Wyatt and Emmett Dauber, Carlie and Macey Schiewe, and Willa and Coralee Tucker.

Our hearts are broken, but we are blessed to have had him in our lives and are grateful that he is at peace.&nbsp;Dan strongly supported the Disabled American Veterans and donations can be made in his name through Heritage Funeral Home. Some of his favorite times were spent on the banks of the Smoky Hill River in search of monster catfish.Dan was preceded in death by his father and infant brother, Raymond.Dan is survived by his mother, sisters, Tena Dauber, Sheri (Terry) Gaskill, Nancy (Charles) Tucker, brother, Dave (Diana) Dauber, nephews, Adam (Tracy) Tucker, Steve Dauber, and nieces, Laura (Jade) Schiewe and Emily Rowe. He took great joy in his great nephews and nieces, Jaden and Brookelyn Rowe, Wyatt and Emmett Dauber, Carlie and Macey Schiewe, and Willa and Coralee Tucker.Our hearts are broken, but we are blessed to have had him in our lives and are grateful that he is at peace.&nbsp;Dan strongly supported the Disabled American Veterans and donations can be made in his name through Heritage Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial is planned.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Imogene Kinast, 89, died October 24, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born September 1, 1934, in Ellsworth, to William C. and Mathilda (Stratmann) Janssen.

Imogene graduated from Lorraine High School, and attended Kansas State University. &nbsp;She retired as a full-time administrative assistant at Hutchinson Community College in 1997. &nbsp;Imogene later worked for the Reno County District Court part-time, retiring in 2007. &nbsp;She liked the simple things in life like sewing, gardening, and volunteering at the Hutchinson Zoo. Imogene was a lifelong Lutheran, and currently a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

On June 4, 1954, she married Charles R. Kinast, in Holyrood, KS. &nbsp;He died April 2, 2020, after they shared almost 66 years of marriage.

Imogene is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Vicki Shook (Timothy) of Wichita, Pamela Johnston (Randolph), and Laurie Givan (Tim), all of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; a sister, Agnes Scott; and a brother, Donald Janssen.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Henry Blickhahn officiating. &nbsp;Private family burial will take place prior to the service in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. &nbsp;Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

After a long illness Mara Locke, age 86, passed away in Halstead, Kansas. Mara was born in July 27, 1937 in Pope, Illinois and grew up in Iola Kansas.

She later moved to Newton, Kansas in 2005. After her illness was diagnosed she moved to Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead Kansas.

Mara was a Certified Medical Assistant in nursing facilities and had completed college courses in Iola, Kansas.

She is survived by her daughters Debby (Phillip) Wertz, Sharon (Del) Hadden, Dianna (Danny) Prock. 5 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren also survive Mara.

Mara is preceded in death by her parents Owen and Lottie Wild, daughter Janice; son Sean; granddaughters Courtney and Gina.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., November 4, 2023 at the Senior Center in Iola, Kansas.

Mary Montgomery, 88, died October 14, 2023, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie, KS. &nbsp;She was born March 20, 1935, in Warsaw, MO, to Henry Paul Laird and Audrey (Edwards) Laird.

Mary was a graduate of Emporia State University. &nbsp;She was an elementary school teacher in the Hutchinson area for many years. &nbsp;Mary was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, KS.

She was a national square dance finalist, a coast-to-coast RV captain, and a lover of cats. &nbsp;Mary would travel each summer to Warsaw, MO, to catch up with her cousin Blanche, Doctor John, and many others.&nbsp;

She is survived by: &nbsp;her daughter, Blythe Montgomery of Fordland, MO; and sisters, Janet Laird of Hutchinson, KS, and RoseAnne Fowler of Chatham, NJ.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Lawrence Mitchell Montgomery.

She took an active role in the running of the family farm operation, all the while raising seven children. She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew “Matt,” daughter Barbara Bogner, granddaughter Blake Bogner, brothers Melvin, Jerome P., Albert Jr., Jim, and Jerome M. Kerschen, and sister Marlene McClure. 

Sally is survived by her children Don Bogner, Gerald (Michelle) Bogner, David (Marsha) Bogner, Teresa (Kevin) Achilles, Duane Bogner and Mary Jean (Joe) Wary, siblings Cathy (Bob) Murphy and Leon (Dorothy) Kerschen, grandchildren Blaine (Emily) Bogner, Brett (Jordan) Springer, Beth (Austin) Ratzlaff, Ann (Blake) Renner, James (Whitney) Bogner, Becca (Preston) Mumford, Megan (Cody) Regier, Kim (Colt) Falcon, Kate Wary (Melissa Jordan), Rachel (Scott) Morris, Angela (Keaton) Dugan, Stephen (Faith) Wary, Aaron Wary and 17 great grandchildren.

Alberta Louise Knoefel, 88, died October 22, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village. &nbsp;She was born August 6, 1935, in Kingman, KS, to Elmer James Potter and Susan (Roberts) Potter.

Louise was a 1952 graduate of Pretty Prairie High School, Pretty Prairie, KS. &nbsp;She was a member of the Abbyville United Methodist Church, Abbyville Community Church, and the Abbyville Booster Club. &nbsp;Louise was a farm wife and a member and supporter of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.

On November 22, 1953, Louise married Robert ‘Bob’ Charles Knoefel at the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church, Pretty Prairie, KS. &nbsp;They shared over 64 years of marriage, prior to his death on June 22, 2018.

She is survived by: &nbsp;her son, Raymond (Sheila) Knoefel of Peck, KS; grandchildren, Stephanie (Keegan) Kreutzer of Wichita, KS, and Ryan (Nereyda) Knoefel of Garden City, KS; and great-grandchildren, Kalli Kreutzer and Sylas Knoefel.

Louise was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; husband; son, Ronald Knoefel; and brothers, Everett Potter and Lowell Potter.
