Garry P. Vogel, 81, passed away November 18, 2023, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion, Kansas.
He was born January 4, 1942, in Hillsboro, Kansas, the son of Paul and Bertha (Bernhardt) Vogel. He was a 1959 graduate of Marion High School. He served his country with the United States Army Reserves.
He was first married to Georgie Helmer, two daughters were born to this union. On September 15, 1979, he was united in marriage to Marcia Raleigh, they would blend their families.
He was a farmer and cattleman, but was also a truck driver, water well man, butcher and manufacturer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Darla Gore.
He is survived by his wife Marcia Vogel of Marion; his daughter Jamie (James) McDonald of Wichita; his step-children: Ryan (Darci) Walker of McPherson, and Gail Boaldin of Marion; 12 grandchildren, and 25+ great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Kansas.
A private graveside service will be held at the Strassburg Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Quail Forever.
