Alan L. Dietz, known to most as Al, passed away on December 8, 2020. Alan was born June 29, 1941, the son of Valdean and Dorothy Dietz. 

 He grew up in rural Sterling and lived on the family farm.&nbsp;He was a veteran, a farmer and collector of vintage cars.

Alan has been cremated and there will be no services.  Please bestow memorials to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettles.

John Jay Ankerholz, 88, passed away December 18, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 23, 1932, in Plevna, to John Otto and Flossie Mae (Baker) Ankerholz.

Jay was a 1950 graduate of Nickerson Rural High School. He worked as the warehouse manager at Montgomery Ward, Hutchinson, retiring with more than 28 years of service. After retiring from Montgomery Ward, Jay went to work at Doskocil Food Service Company, South Hutchinson. He was an antique and a depression glass collector and dealer. Jay was a member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.

On May 18, 1952, he married Doris Jean Risley, in Nickerson. They shared over 57 years of marriage, prior to her death on October 4, 2009.

Jay is survived by his children, Debbie (Larry) Smith of Protection, Steve (Teresa) Ankerholz of Lyons, and Kelli (Dan) Petz of South Hutchinson;&nbsp; grandchildren, Jared Petz, Ben (Rachel) Ankerholz, Jesse (Andrea) Ankerholz, Jena Woods, J.D. (Shannon) Smith, Ty (Jessica) Smith; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters.

Public funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Steve Gill officiating. Marjorie “Marj” Mugler, 86, died peacefully on December 18, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born November 20, 1934, in Longford, to Matthew and Opal (Oard) Heigele.

She married Martin Mugler on June 19, 1955. They were married 47 years, prior to his passing on May 15, 2003. They had four children: Connie, Marla, Gary and Karen. Marj’s life centered on family and she enjoyed being a full-time homemaker, happily living in the same home for 51 years, and was a part-time florist. Marj enjoyed crafting, sewing, being outside in nature with her flowers and the birds, and watching sporting events on TV. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Martin.

Marj is survived by: her sister, Janice Harrington, Gardner; children, Connie Nuss (Tony), Chanhassen, MN, Marla Eriksen (Jeff), Hutchinson, Gary Mugler (Roberta), Gypsum, Karen Frizell (Jeff), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Emily Nuss Lazar (Joe), Minneapolis, MN, Michael Nuss (Lindsey Alinder), Minneapolis, MN, Whitney Eriksen Chang (Ken), Fairway, Kelsey Eriksen Barnes (Jim), Lawrence, Lindsey Eriksen Leslie (Matthew), Lawrence, Garett Mugler (Kelsey), Concordia, Mitch Mugler, Manhattan, Max Graber (Josie Taylor), Windsor, CO, Madi Graber Smith (Garrett), Roeland Park; and great-grandchildren, Joey, Audrey, and Leah Lazar, Taytum, Braylee, and Gavin Mugler, Nora and Dawson Chang, Miles Barnes, and Henry Leslie.

Michael Eugene Ruzich, 73, died December 18, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1947, in Hutchinson, to Anthony “Tony” and Geraldine Lois (Burns) Ruzich.&nbsp;

Michael graduated from Hutchinson High School, and served in the United States Army Reserve. In 1972, Michael left Hutchinson after working at Cain Shoe Company. He continued to work in sales throughout his career and life, moving to St. Louis, New York City, then west to California, to name just a few.&nbsp; Michael finally settled in Dallas, TX.

In 2008, he returned to Hutchinson to reconnect with old friends and be closer to family. Throughout his life, Michael was blessed with family and friends.&nbsp; His charm and self-confidence drew people to him, and he welcomed time spent and conversations with others.&nbsp;

Michael is survived by his two sisters, Patricia Lenore Ruzich and Linda Marie Ruzich, both of Wichita, and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.&nbsp;

Andrew ‘Andy’ D. &nbsp;Shultz, 75, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Castleton. He was born May 14, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Harold E. and Iris (Magers) Shultz.

He was a 1963 graduate of Buhler High School, an Army veteran serving in Thailand, and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

In 1995, Andrew retired as supervisor from Dillons Bakery with 33 years of service. He continued working in heating and air conditioning for a number of years.

Woodworking was his favorite pastime; it included making countless wooden &nbsp;toys that were shared with many people.

In October of this year, Andrew and Paulette moved to South Hutchinson.

On November 25, 1967, he married Paulette Francis Droste, in Marienthal. Paulette, his wife of 53 years survives.

Also surviving are children, Rhonda Renken and husband Terry of Little River, and Chad and wife Jennifer of Kingman; twin brothers, Mark and wife Joanne, and Clark and wife Carolyn, all of Wichita; seven grandchildren, Tevin Renken and wife Chloe of Kansas City, MO, Mariah Buie and husband Derrike of Castleton, Melanie Renken, Mekenzie Renken, and Logan Renken of Little River, Blake Shultz and Cara Shultz of Kingman; great-granddaughter, Emerysn Buie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Karl, and Harold L. and wife Eileen; and twin sister, AnDella Showalter.

Parish rosary will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, followed by funeral mass at 11 a.m., with Father Charles Siewert officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Castleton.

Emmett Everett Allen, 81, died December 19, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born February 14, 1939, in Hutchinson, to Lloyd and Elva (Carpenter) Allen.

Emmett graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957. He was a self-employed business owner and salesman. Emmett enjoyed selling any type of Western wear and collectibles, and owned Allen’s Café in South Hutchinson, along with his wife, Judy, for many years.

On April 16, 1960, he married Judy Gookins, in Hutchinson. They shared over 60 years of marriage.

Emmett is survived by his wife, Judy of Hutchinson; daughters, Amy Foster (Mike) of Sterling, Jennifer Allen of Houston, TX; grandsons, Brett Foster (Amy) of Andover, and Andrew Foster of Wichita; granddaughter, Mollie Foster of Park Ridge, IL; and great-grandsons, Paxton and Brady Foster of Andover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Allen; and sister, Sheryl Allen.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held.&nbsp;

John worked as a general laborer &amp; mechanic. &nbsp;He lived in Osborne all his life.

John is survived by daughters: Dana Treffer of Rockville, NE; Candace
 Betts of Hutchinson, KS; Kelly Betts of Hutchinson, KS; Tammy Merritt of
 Osborne, KS; son: Darrel Henry of Osborne, KS; sisters: Cheryl Betts of

Wanda Pauline (Clough) Nickels Witt, 98, died Dec. 18, 2020, at 
Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling.&nbsp; She was born Oct. 9, 1922, in 
Lerado, to David Everett and Allie (Lawson) Clough.&nbsp; Wanda married 
Leonard Nickels Sept. 27, 1941, at the Lerado United Methodist Church, 
Lerado.&nbsp; Leonard died Aug. 26, 1975.&nbsp; She then married Arthur Witt Jan. 
20, 1979, at the Claflin United Methodist Church, Claflin.&nbsp; Arthur died 
Nov. 3, 2004.

A 1940 valedictorian graduate of Langdon High School, Wanda continued
 her education at Hutchinson Community College, Wichita State 
University, Kansas State University, then graduating from Sterling 
College and Emporia State University, receiving her Masters degree in 
Library Science.

Wanda, a long-time resident of Claflin, moved to Alden July, 2019, 
being blessed to live in the home in which she had designed at the age 
of 96.&nbsp; She was the librarian for the Little River School District, and 
then moved to Claflin where she was librarian for the Claflin School 
District.&nbsp; Wanda was a member of the Claflin United Methodist Church, 
United Methodist Women, TOPS, and Delta Kappa Gamma.&nbsp; She enjoyed 
reading, gardening, sewing, quilting and traveling.

Survivors include one son, Jim Nickels and wife Barb of Hutchinson; 
two daughters, Judith Ray of Alden and Janelle Bennett and husband Craig
 of Alden; grandchildren, Scott Nickels of Wichita, Jeremy Bennett 
(Bridgette) of Sterling, Jaime Howard (Lindy) of Alden, Joel Bennet 
(Madyson) of Hutchinson, Jill Wilson (Cullan) of Pratt; and numerous 
great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.&nbsp; She was preceded in
 death by husbands, Leonard Nickels and Arthur Witt; son-in-law, Robert 
Ray; two brothers, Otis Clough and Vernon Clough; and one sister, Wilma 
Fulks.

Public visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, 
December 22, 2020 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the family 
receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.&nbsp; Private family services will

Wanda Pauline (Clough) Nickels Witt

Galen Keith Froese, 77, of Buhler, died December 18, 2020, at Pleasant View Home in Inman. He was born June 19, 1943, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Harold and Adeline (Pauls) Froese.

Galen graduated from Buhler High School in 1961 and completed his two years of 1W service in Denver, Colorado. Galen spent a number of years working together with his father in his masonry business before taking on the business himself and spending quite a few years designing and building numerous fireplaces and other brick and stone structures. As this work began to take a toll on him physically, Galen ventured into various jobs, including selling wood-burning stoves and even driving for UPS, before landing at Inman Irrigation, where he developed the turf division and sold traveling sprinkler systems. He eventually bought out this division and moved on privately for the remainder of his career.

Galen was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Inman, KS, where he served in numerous positions, including usher and trustee. Galen enjoyed collecting John Deere toys, working outdoors, and finding a way to provide everything his family ever needed.

On October 6, 1967, Galen married Fern Ella Doerksen in Inman. They shared 53 years together.

He is survived by wife, Fern; children, Greg Froese (Lisa), Keri Maurer (Bill), both of Inman, and Angie Plett (Dustin), Sterling; grandchildren, Emma, Garrett, and Morgan Froese; Lauren and Sydney Maurer; and Rylie and Kynli Plett; as well as sister, Carnie Verrelli (Terry), New Wilmington, PA.

Galen was preceded in death by his parents.

Joaquin Valtierra-Serrano, 75, died December 15, 2020. He was born September 27, 1945, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, to Nicanor and Matilde (Serrano) Valtierra.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1992, Joaquin had his own baking business, Panaderia Sol. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

He married Maria Soledad Salgado. She died March 13, 2000.

Stanley Ray Kjellberg, 62, passed away December 17, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born December 28, 1957, in Ness City, to Clifford and Wilma (Frank) Kjellberg.

Stan graduated from Ness City High School in 1976 and went on to attend Northwest Kansas Technical College. In 1995, he decided to make a life change and go back to school. Stan graduated from Barton County Community College in 1996, as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. After one year working in Parsons, he moved with his family to Hutchinson, and began working at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. During the 23 years that he worked there, Stan was able to touch the lives of many, many coworkers and patients. He loved his work, especially working with older patients. Stan would talk and listen to them, and would be able to bring out stories of their lives. He touched them as people, not just patients. Stan also developed a loving, caring relationship with his work family. We will be forever grateful to Stan’s work family for the love and support shown to him and his family over his 23 years of work at the hospital, and during his illness.

Stan had many loves in his life. He loved to work out in the yard, especially with his buddy, Lucy, his favorite dog in the world. Stan would be on his knees working in the flower bed, and she would be constantly bringing him her yellow tennis ball. They both loved it. He also had a passion for the University of Kansas basketball team and the Kansas City Chiefs. The greatest loves of Stan’s life were his Lord and his family. His relationship with God grew stronger and stronger over time. One of Stan’s last texts to his wife was, “The Lord has us each step of the way. I trust in him 100%”. His other great love was for his family. On March 12, 1983, Stan married Lisa Hoberecht, at the First Christian Church, Great Bend. They shared over 37 years of marriage. During that marriage, they were blessed with two sons, Nicholas Kjellberg and Andrew Kjellberg. Stan was always a very ‘hands-on-father’. He absolutely loved the time spent with his sons, from going to the University of Kansas basketball games with Nicholas, to scouting activities with Andrew.

Stan is survived by: his wife, Lisa Kjellberg of Hutchinson; sons, Nicholas Kjellberg and Andrew Kjellberg of Hutchinson; parents, Clifford and Wilma Kjellberg of Ness City; brothers, Steven (Nola) Kjellberg of Belpre, and Larry Kjellberg of Ness City; sister, Lynette (Mike) VanAusdale of Ellis; parents-in-law, Russell and Wanda Hoberecht of Great Bend; brothers-in-law, Mark (Cheryl) Hoberecht of Great Bend, and Kirk Hoberecht of Salida, CO; and many much loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Roy Lee Harder, 88, passed away peacefully December 14, 2020 at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born February 7, 1932 in Little River, the son of Lawrence and Emma Straus Harder.

A graduate of Inman High School, he served his country in Korea before receiving his Masters in Engineering from Kansas State University. He was an engineer for Cessna, Boeing, and other aviation companies, and was a member of Central Community Church of God, Wichita. Roy Harder enjoyed square dancing and was a philanthropist.

Survivors include his four children, Aldwin (Wendellyn) Harder, Inman; Michele (Tommy) Gee, Katy, TX, Kelcey (Janelle) Harder, Junction City, and Shanda (Jim Friedrich) Harder, Ankeny, Iowa; many grandchildren; and three nieces, Arlene, Diane, and Nadine Bengston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Willis Harder; and a sister, Marcia Bengston.

Clive J. “C.J.” Sharpe, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 
2020, at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born 
on September 5, 1931, in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Clive Gay and 
Nellie Marguerite Scott Sharpe.&nbsp; A lifetime resident of Scott City, 
Kansas, he was a retired teacher and coach.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas, 
and was a US Army Veteran.&nbsp; Starting in 1959, CJ taught math in 
Coolidge, Kansas, Herndon, Kansas, and then retiring in 1990 from Scott 
City, Kansas.&nbsp; He was passionate about sports, both as an athlete and 
coach.&nbsp; CJ enjoyed gardening, reading, playing pitch and he especially 
loved his grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews and playing with their
 32 kids as they grew up.

On August 18, 1964, he married Charlene M. Brown in Herndon, Kansas.&nbsp; She survives.

Clive J. 'C.J.' Sharpe

William “Bill” Collins, 67, passed away December 15, 2020, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. He was born June 7, 1953, in Hutchinson, the son of Bascom “Bud” Bramble and Peggy Jean (Johnson) Collins. Bill graduated from Hutchinson High School.

On December 4, 1971, Bill married Edda McIver, in Abbyville, KS. They were married for 49 years. He worked for Carey Salt and retired from Hutchinson Correctional Facility as boiler operator. Bill had many interests and hobbies. He was a collector of owls, loved going fishing and enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael Ray and Jerry Vaughn, brother-in-laws, Luis Perez and Ralph McIver; cousin, Rayleena Stanley and father-in-law, Edward McIver.

On October 9, 1987 he married Joleen Snyder in Inman, KS. They were married for over 33 years. He graduated from Inman High School in 1983. Gary was a sub contract welder for BMG of Kansas for 10 years. He was an avid hunter, and he enjoyed welding, going to the sand dunes to drive dune buggies and traveling with Joleen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Brian Snyder.

Gary is survived by his wife Joleen; sisters, Jolene (Glenn) Snyder and Shirley (Tom) Tomlinson; a brother, Dale (Rosemary) Willems, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Norval S. Babcock, 100, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Diversicare, Hutchinson, KS. Norval was born February 19, 1920 in Sheridan, KS, the son of Leland and Francis (Mathews) Babcock.

On November 7, 1941 he married Virginia Clemments in McPherson, KS. Norval joined the United States Air Corps in January of 1942 and was honorably discharged in November of 1945.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, two sons, Richard and Phillip Babcock and two sisters, Roseva Lawrence and Margaurite Dean.

Norval is survived by a son Gary (Francine K.) Babcock of Hutchinson; daughter- in-law, Jeanie Babcock of Holcomb; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mary Gay Mullins, 83, died December 14, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born January 30, 1937, in Melbourne, AR, to Autry Vernon and Mary Jean (Estes) Rector.

Gay graduated from Arlington High School, Arlington, KS, in 1955, where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. After high school, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Emporia State University. Gay was an elementary school teacher who loved her students and made each student feel special. Her career consisted of remedial reading, Title 1, and as a 2nd&nbsp;grade teacher. Her career spanned 31 years in the Hutchinson School District. Gay was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, KNEA, NEA, Hutchinson Retired Teachers Association, Emporia State University Alumni Association, and Eastwood Church of Christ.

On April 5, 1958, she married James P. Mullins in Detroit, MI. Gay and Jim moved to Hutchinson in 1960 and they shared 62 years of marriage. Gay and Jim loved going out to eat together and spending time with their children and grandchildren. She instilled a love of reading and learning with each of her grandchildren. Gay loved watching sports of all kinds, especially K-State athletics. Gay’s love of her family has been an inspiration to all of us.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; sons, Steve Mullins (Debbie), Hutchinson, Eric Mullins (Diana), South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Matt Mullins (Ashley), Merriam, Chris Mullins (fiancé, De’Nae Torres), Hutchinson, Sarah Engel (Brent), Wichita; great-grandchildren, Jasper and Crew Mullins, and baby boy Engel; and many extended family members.

Gay was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patsy Gallagher.

Private family graveside services were held in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

On November 4, 1956 she married Robert Griffin in Pueblo, CO. Marie loved to read, make crafts and enjoyed pottery.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Gloria.

Carlyle Dean “Cork” Paramore, 61, of rural Lindsborg, died December 13, 2020 at his residence.&nbsp; He was born September 19, 1959 in Russell, Kansas, the son of Joseph A. and Rosemary (Ramsey) Paramore.&nbsp;

Cork was employed as a truck driver by E-M Sand &amp; Gravel for several years.&nbsp; Prior to that he worked cattle and rode and broke horses.&nbsp; Most of his spare time was spent outdoors camping, fishing and tinkering on vehicles, but he loved watching westerns on television as well.

Cork delighted in showing up with bags of candy for his grandkids and a favorite dinner request of his was steak and potatoes.&nbsp; He will be missed dearly by his family and friends alike.

Survivors include his son, Robert Shane Paramore of Brewton, Alabama; two daughters, Calyne Rhea (Ted) Henry, Linn, Kansas and Kara Lynn (Brandon) Bailey, McPherson, Kansas; siblings, Kathy Kimball, AZ, Alvin Wayne Paramore (Tressia), KS, Chris Casper, TX, Tammy Foster, KS, Justin Searles (Gina), NC, Raymond Paramore (Roxann), KS, Teresa Meyer, KS, Clifford Paramore, KS, Joseph Paramore (Mary), MO and Bobby Paramore, KS; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a title clerk for the Reno County Title Company, and later worked for the Reno County Courthouse in the Register of Deeds office.

She loved to do puzzles, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, traveling and genealogy.

Allene was united in marriage to Jerry L. Redd on May 4, 1956 in South Hutchinson. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her three daughters, Patricia Strait and Tammy (Richard) Brown, both of Hutchinson, and Cindy (Brian) Dees of Burrton; nine grandchildren, James (Jill) Brown, April (Gary) Wisecarver, Malissa Pettay, Holly Womack, Jessica Soden, Krysta Woelk, Brittany Fistler, Paige Brown and Ben (Ashley) Dees; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Geddes of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Glenda Lighty of Hugoton; and brother-in-law, William Redd of South Hutchinson.

Fern Lucille Ensz, 83, passed away on December 14, 2020 at Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, Kansas. She was born September 14, 1937, at Copeland, Kansas to William B. and Katherine (Schmidt) Koehn.&nbsp;

She was a homemaker. Fern was a long-time resident of Surprise, Arizona, residing at Bethesda Home of Goessel, KS. and Moundridge Manor in her later years. Fern was a member of Lone Tree Mennonite Church, Galva, KS., as well as a former member of Sun Valley Mennonite Church in El Mirage, Arizona.

Fern married Ervin T. Ensz on December 28, 1958 at Montezuma, Kansas. He passed away April 10, 2014.

She is survived by four sons, Bruce (Dorothy) Ensz of El Mirage, Arizona, Ron (Karen) Ensz of Chester, Iowa, Wes (Connie) Ensz and Clark Ensz, all of El Mirage, AZ.; daughter, Raquel (Pat) Johnson of Galva, KS; brother Jake (Illa) Koehn, Victoria, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and close family friend, Diva Withers, Copeland KS.

In addition to her husband, Fern was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Craig Ensz; brothers Curtis Koehn, Allen Koehn and Junior Koehn; sisters, Evelyn Koehn, Lena Jantzen, Ruth Kehn and Carrie Penner.

Fern was a member of Lone Tree Mennonite Church, Galva, KS., as well as a former member of Sun Valley Mennonite Church in El Mirage, Arizona.Fern married Ervin T. Ensz on December 28, 1958 at Montezuma, Kansas. He passed away April 10, 2014.She is survived by four sons, Bruce (Dorothy) Ensz of El Mirage, Arizona, Ron (Karen) Ensz of Chester, Iowa, Wes (Connie) Ensz and Clark Ensz, all of El Mirage, AZ.; daughter, Raquel (Pat) Johnson of Galva, KS; brother Jake (Illa) Koehn, Victoria, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and close family friend, Diva Withers, Copeland KS.In addition to her husband, Fern was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Craig Ensz; brothers Curtis Koehn, Allen Koehn and Junior Koehn; sisters, Evelyn Koehn, Lena Jantzen, Ruth Kehn and Carrie Penner.Friends may call from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge, KS. Winona Maye Goering, 94, died Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born May 26, 1926, at Pretty Prairie, to Frank and Loretta Elinor "Lora" (Dickerson) Hendrixson.

She was a 1944 graduate of Pretty Prairie High School and member of Arlington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Unit #68.

On October 18, 1947, she married Lee Eugene “Bob” Goering in Chanute. Winona’s husband of 66 years, died January 14, 2014.

Surviving are children, Vicki Bainum and husband Rex of Hutchinson, and Steve Goering and wife Debbie of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Linda Hendrixson of Pretty Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Kerry Bainum and Tina Rose, Lisa Sanz and husband Jonas, Tarissa Fears and husband Robert, and Ashley Palmer and husband Cody; 6 great-grandchildren, Blake Bainum, Abigail, Caleb and Isaac Sanz, Alyssa Fears, and Breckin Palmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Moore; brothers, Leon and Verne Hendrixson and wife, Marceline.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Arlington Cemetery, with Pastor Joyce Beam presiding.

Wearing masks and social distancing are required.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with family present at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Raymond “Ray” H. Mora, 80, of Hutchinson, died December 13, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 3, 1940, in Hutchinson, to Theodore and Josephine (Garcia) Mora.

Ray graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. He was an Inspection supervisor and union leader for Kansas Gas Services. Ray loved to collect baseball cards, coached softball, and baseball. He volunteered at Hospice House of Reno County and was an active member of The Church of the Holy Cross. &nbsp;He was a strong man of Faith and Family and he has touched many people lives throughout this life and that will never be forgotten.

On August 11, 1962, Ray married Judy Ann Powell in Hutchinson. They shared 52 years together before she passed away on January 14, 2015.

He is survived by: children, Ted Mora, Las Vegas, &nbsp;Michelle DeLaney (Pat), Hutchinson, Jeff Mora (Sigrid), Michigan, Traci Luce (Bobby); grandchildren, Taryn Mora (Manuel Rodriguez), Falon Goertz (Randy), Chaz DeLaney (Mariah), Brittany Bishop (Jermaine), Logan Mora, Bree Gonzales (Neil), Dalton Luce, Devin Luce, Makayla Luce; great-grandchildren, Ariella Mora, Aiden and Cannon Whitsitt, Maliyah Bishop, Caleb Jimenez; and sisters, Martha Gentry, Rachel Ellison, Liz Mora Bonilla, and Mary Hamby.

Ray was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Judy Mora; sisters, Bertha Garza, Rita Bonilla; and brother, Michael Mora.

Elma Thompson, 102, passed away December 14, 2020, at her residence. She was born October 6, 1918, in Adams County near Golden, IL, to William Jacob and Naomi (Moss) Ketchum.

Elma graduated from Augusta High School, Augusta, IL, in 1936. In 1939, she moved to Hutchinson. Elma was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and Altar Society, Hutchinson, and past member of the Loyal Star.

On July 17, 1940, Elma married George Thompson, in Lyons. They shared over 56 years of marriage, prior to his death on November 2, 1996.

She is survived by her children, Keith (Jackie) Thompson of Hutchinson, Mike (Denise) Thompson of Caldwell, ID, Pat (Patty) Thompson of Salina, Sharon Tinsley of Hutchinson, Lynne Miller of Hutchinson, and Raelene Brewer of Hutchinson; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nonia Gilbert; and special friend, Jane Miller.
