Winona Maye Goering, 94, died Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born May 26, 1926, at Pretty Prairie, to Frank and Loretta Elinor "Lora" (Dickerson) Hendrixson.
She was a 1944 graduate of Pretty Prairie High School and member of Arlington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Unit #68.
On October 18, 1947, she married Lee Eugene “Bob” Goering in Chanute. Winona’s husband of 66 years, died January 14, 2014.
Surviving are children, Vicki Bainum and husband Rex of Hutchinson, and Steve Goering and wife Debbie of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Linda Hendrixson of Pretty Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Kerry Bainum and Tina Rose, Lisa Sanz and husband Jonas, Tarissa Fears and husband Robert, and Ashley Palmer and husband Cody; 6 great-grandchildren, Blake Bainum, Abigail, Caleb and Isaac Sanz, Alyssa Fears, and Breckin Palmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Moore; brothers, Leon and Verne Hendrixson and wife, Marceline.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, at Arlington Cemetery, with Pastor Joyce Beam presiding.
Wearing masks and social distancing are required.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with family present at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
