Gary E. Willems, 56, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS. Gary was born September 17, 1964 in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Arnold and Helen (Wiens) Willems.
On October 9, 1987 he married Joleen Snyder in Inman, KS. They were married for over 33 years. He graduated from Inman High School in 1983. Gary was a sub contract welder for BMG of Kansas for 10 years. He was an avid hunter, and he enjoyed welding, going to the sand dunes to drive dune buggies and traveling with Joleen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Brian Snyder.
Gary is survived by his wife Joleen; sisters, Jolene (Glenn) Snyder and Shirley (Tom) Tomlinson; a brother, Dale (Rosemary) Willems, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Memorials may be given to Willems Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Service will be live streamed on Hutchinson Chapel facebook page. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks are required. The family has asked that everyone dress casual.
