Leroy John Stockemer, 89, of Garden Plain, died October 31, 2024, at his residence. He was born July 31, 1935, near Colwich, to Aloysius J. and Bernetta F. (Orth) Stockemer.

Leroy graduated from Andale High School. Electronics were his passion and Leroy could repair anything electronic. He owned Leroy’s Electronics for a few years before going to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronics technician. Leroy’s career with the FAA spanned 40+ years, quickly rising to supervisory and management status. Throughout his career Leroy received numerous letters of recognition, commendations, and service awards. &nbsp;In 1982, he received national recognition as the FAA’s Suggester of the Year for improvements to its radar systems that were responsible for saving many lives. Leroy enjoyed owning and flying his own single engine airplane. Leroy served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1953-1962, was past president of Hutchinson Airport Board, and a member of Church of the Holy Cross.

On June 2, 1956, he married Mary A. Rau, in Colwich. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage before her death on December 27, 2015.

Leroy is survived by: his children; Monica Rupp of Cedar Park, TX, Mike Stockemer (Carmelita) of Garden Plain, Jennifer Smith (Kurt) of Hutchinson, Dale Stockemer (Stacey) of Park City, Ronnie Stockemer (Carolyn) of Mansfield, TX, Vanessa Bertucci and Valerie Rosproy both of Wichita; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Dennis Stockemer (Joan) of Wichita, Don Stockemer of St. Marks; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sons, Christopher and Randy; 1 grandson; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Stockemer, Carol Lies, and Marilyn Kerschen.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2024, both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors presented by Kansas Army National Guard.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Skylar Jo Southards, 41, died October 29, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. &nbsp;He was born September 6, 1983, in Hutchinson, to Frederick Joseph and Crystal Ann (McGillivray) Southards. &nbsp;

Skylar attended Buhler High School, graduated from Hutchinson Community College, and attended technical school to become an electrician. &nbsp;He was currently working for Hedlund Electric, in McPherson. &nbsp;Skylar was creative and thoughtful, always giving the perfect gift when someone was least expecting it. &nbsp;He also enjoyed fishing and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas State University. &nbsp;Skylar loved the outdoors and tending to his goats, dogs, “fluffy feet” chickens, cats, miniature pony, pigs and guineas, to name just a few of his numerous farm animals. &nbsp;As much as he loved being outdoors and with his pets, nothing was more important to Skylar than quality family time spent together at family gatherings.&nbsp;

Skylar is survived by: &nbsp;his mother, Crystal Hill (Brad) of Emporia; his father, Fred Southards (Laura) of Hutchinson; siblings, Heather Kessler (Mitchell Meyer) of Hutchinson, Harrison Hill (Colleen) of Alaska, and Shelby Hill of Colorado; nephews, Carter McNett and Layton Kessler; grandmother, Kathleen McGillivray of Hutchinson; his former wife, Brooke Southards of Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his paternal grandparents, John T. and Ann Southards, Linda Southards, and Mary Southards; maternal grandfather, Chester “Mont” McGillivray; uncle, Terry McGillivray; and cousin, Austin Rykhus.

Patsy Lee Mewhinney Tarr, also known as “Dear”, Mom, Aunt Pat, Patty, and, for over 51 years, OMA, died in her home, wearing pink, with family near on October 30, 2024. She was born April 14, 1931, in Iola, Kansas, to Samual Monroe and Mildred Leota (Wheeler) Mewhinney.

As a child during the depression era, Patsy learned to live with little means, to laugh and love fully, and to know God in a personal way through her grandmother. Her family moved to Wichita when she was in 8th grade, and she spotted a good-looking boy- telling a friend that she was going to marry that one! Patsy graduated in 1949 from Planeview High School, and married that same fella, John B. Tarr, a year later, on April 29, 1950.

Patsy was first of all a mom, to Debi, Dickie Van, who died in 1953, Brenda, Penny, and John. Some things we remember about those early years- Debi remembers that she got in trouble at school (ok, more than once) and walked the few blocks home to find Mom waiting to be told “the truth” because she already knew. Roaming the neighborhood was encouraged, after all she could always “trill” us home, and the threat of a switch to our legs made us hurry to get there.

With 3 girls, Mom stretched the budget by making most of our clothes, identical for all when possible, including herself! Which led to Brenda and Penny getting to wear the same style of dress for years as each one was passed down! Penny thought John was&nbsp;lucky- new clothes all along! Another budget stretcher was her drafted gardeners- nieces, nephews, and friends were encouraged to dig weeds around the sod plugs in the new yard along with her kids. 25 cents for a 5 gallon bucket- after inspection and her stomping it down! If you drive by 715 Edgemoore in Mulvane, you will see the results of all that work!

She always had a “side hustle” to help make ends meet, such as helping Dad work a paper route, riding a bike as a messenger at Boeing because she was too petite to work as a riveter, tinting black and white photos for a photography studio, working at a family owned IGA grocery in various capacities, baking cakes and cinnamon rolls to sell out of her home, running a daycare, working at Hutch High in food service (where John said&nbsp;she worked to keep an eye on him), working at HCC in the Continuing Education department, and selling clothing in a boutique in Arkansas.

As we got older, our house became the gathering spot for us and our friends. Mom always had snacks, cinnamon rolls, pop, and a welcome for the gang. She became involved in our activities at school and at church, providing food, costumes, decorations, and transportation as needed. Friends in Mulvane and in Hutchinson remember her hospitality, her laugh, her sweet ways. As we had families of our own, Mom encouraged us to make our house the gathering spot for our own kids.

Patsy became Oma in 1973, when her first grandchild was born in Germany. Of course, that meant she and Dad had to make a trip overseas to see him, beginning the path of welcoming 14 grandchildren&nbsp;personally. The grandkids remember Oma teaching them to bake, reading books, singing on the porch swings, watching them in their sports and activities, playing games, having popcorn and movies in her big bed between her and Opa, sleeping on the floor beside her so she could reach out her hand to touch them in the night (and vice versa). As greats came along, she continued her loving interactions, playing games, and creating crafts up to even a few weeks ago.

A move to Bella Vista Arkansas in1994 fulfilled a dream of golfing every chance they got and becoming involved in a strong church, joining friends already there. Patsy was involved there as an elder’s wife, heading up several ministries such as an encouraging card ministry, mentoring young girls, mentoring young married couples (a continuation of their involvement with Marriage Encounter), and various other activities.

Patsy was a member of the Church of Christ, most recently at Windom Church of Christ, and serving in Sewing For the Master at Eastwood Church of Christ.

Patsy is survived by: daughters, Deborah Herndon (Rex) of Arkansas City, Brenda Graham (Kenny) of Hutchinson, and Penny Pearlman of Coral Springs, FL; son, John Tarr (Kelley) of Brooklet, GA, 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, John B. Tarr; son, Dickie Van Tarr; a granddaughter, Holly Jo Hadley; a great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Ehret; a brother, Richard Mewhinney, and a sister, JoAnn Ware.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with son-in-law, Kenny Graham officiating.&nbsp;The service will be livestreamed and the stream will begin at 9:45 a.m. the day of the service.

James Isaac Marshall Jr., 59, passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on October 31, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1965, in Hutchinson, KS to James Isacc Marshall Sr. and Elsie Mae (Tauber) Marshall.

On April 18, 1987, he married Brenda Doughty in Hutchinson. Together they had two children, Curtis and Nishelle. Jimmy was an amazing husband and wonderful father and always put his family first.

Jimmy was employed at J &amp; J Drainage for 34 years and 5 years at Superior Boiler. He loved his family, his church family and his work family. Jimmy was always helping somebody work on a vehicle or a house project. He enjoyed riding his Harley with his family and friends and made sure everyone had a Toy Run button each November. Jimmy was a faithful member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle for 38 years.&nbsp;

Jimmy is survived by: his wife, Brenda Marshall; son, Curtis J. Marshall, both of Hutchinson; daughter, Nishelle (Spencer) Tomlinson of Wichita; step-grandson, Jackson; siblings, Joyce Siebuhr, Richard (Dee) Marshall, Jackie Pina, Esther Bennett, Francis (Cindy) Marshall, Russell (Tyra) Marshall, all of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Bill Marshall and Timothy Marshall; and sisters Vivian Helzer and Pam Hoag.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Fairlawn Burial Bark, 2401 Carey Blvd, Hutchinson, with Pastor Nathan Karriker officiating. Timothy Ray “Tim” Ayres, 72, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 15, 1952, in Kingman, to Raymond N. and Cecilia Dorothy (Gillen) Ayres.

Although Tim attended Hutchinson Community College and two technical schools, he ultimately followed his passion for agriculture and became a dedicated farmer.

On August 23, 1975, he Married Dorcee Anne Hollinger, in South Hutchinson. Tim will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 49 years. She survives.

Other survivors include: his brothers, Terry Ayres of Nickerson, KS, Gary (Melanie) Ayres of Seward, NE; sister, Marla (Donnie) Miller of Hutchinson, KS; four nieces; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Raymond N. Ayres and Cecilia Dorothy (Gillen) Ayres.

Mandy Lynn Buckwalter, 43, of Wichita, died October 28, 2024, as the result of a car accident. &nbsp;She was born September 5, 1981, in Hutchinson, to David Wayne and Gale Lynn (Smith) Buckwalter.

Mandy graduated from Buhler High School in 2000, attended Hutchinson Community College, and graduated from Kansas University with a major in anthropology and minor in psychology. &nbsp;For over three years, Mandy worked with autistic children at Heartspring, in Wichita, as a home assistant supervisor in their therapeutic school. &nbsp;She was adventurous, independent, humble, and beautiful, both inside and out. &nbsp;In her short 43 years, Mandy lived life to its fullest as a world traveler, visiting various countries, many times for pleasure, but also to teach students how to speak English, which she did in both China and South Korea. &nbsp;In addition, Mandy traveled to numerous places of interest throughout the United States. As a life-long learner, before traveling or embarking on a new job or adventure, Mandy would read multiple books and articles, to be sure she knew as much as she could about her next endeavor. &nbsp;Mandy was a gifted listener, but when she spoke everyone listened as she was a book of knowledge. &nbsp;Mandy left an imprint on everyone she met, and will be missed immensely. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Heaven just got a whole lot funnier and a whole lot louder! On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Brian Keith DeGarmo, 61, traded in his drumsticks for angel wings. He leaves behind a world that will always echo with his laughter, rhythm and a few bad punchlines.&nbsp;

Brian was born November 5, 1962 to his proud and endlessly supportive parents, Orvan Duane “Jackson” &amp; Lavonda Juanita “Bonnie” (Baldwin) DeGarmo. Brian was a small-town kid who loved the simple pleasures in life: fishing, hunting and getting into just enough trouble to keep things interesting. He began drumming in his teens and never stopped. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1980. He took to the road and played with many bands throughout his life. His longest tour was with Catfish (Patrick Augustine) &amp; the Nightcrawlers (Mike Waters &amp; the late, Kenny Mac Robertson).&nbsp;

Brian also made a career in welding and metal fabrication. He worked for Martinez &amp; Sons, Krause Plow Corporation and DanDee Air. Brian loved spending time outdoors, listening to and playing all genres of music, and telling stories…always looking for the “wow” factor from someone in his audience. He was an avid reader with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Brian was a loyal KC Chiefs’ fan and a Bigfoot believer. He was sentimental to the core and valued his family &amp; friends above all else.&nbsp;

Brian was welcomed into heaven by his parents; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Delgado and Angel Delgado; his partner in shenanigans and musician mentor, Bobby Fletcher; and long- time friends, Donnie Mitzner and Bevo Cole.&nbsp;

Brian leaves behind his life-partner and love, Ursula Delgado and their two beautiful daughters, who took center stage in his life, Amorae Remington DeGarmo and Cassidy Dawn DeGarmo, as well as the high note of his world, grandson Kaysen Keith DeGarmo, all of the home. Angelia Rene Delgado, 55, of Hutchinson, died October 29, 2024, at Disability Supports of the Great Plains. She was born August 23, 1969, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Manuel and Rose (Rocha) Delgado.&nbsp;

Angelia loved to be active with roller skating and dancing. She stood strong in her faith and her love for Jesus was immeasurable. Angelia was well known for her knock-knock jokes and enjoyed making other people laugh. She liked the outdoors as well as an occasional weekend of camping. Angelia had a knack for coloring and created masterpieces for everyone she encountered. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her feline friends.&nbsp;

Angelia is survived by: her mother, Rose Delgado of Hutchinson; brother, Thomas (Letty) Delgado of Dallas, TX; and sisters, Theresa (Gilbert) Sotomayor of Hutchinson, Carol (Andrew) Vieyra of Garland, TX, Christine (Darin) Blea of South Hutchinson; eight nephews; two nieces; nine great-nephews; and 10 great-nieces.

Carolyn Elizabeth Piken, 73, of Hutchinson, died October 26, 2024, at Hospice House. She was born May 5, 1951, in Hutchinson, to Frank E. and Betty A. (Shuler) Winter.

Carolyn graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969 and magna cum laude from Wichita State University in 1974. She taught for over 30 years in Hutchinson USD308, most of those years at Wiley Elementary School. Carolyn was a member of KNEA and enjoyed playing cards, quilting, cooking, and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with family. Carolyn was also a philanthropist and Hutch Juco scholarship benefactor.

On November 4, 1976, she married Bradley E. Piken, in Hutchinson. He died November 12, 2002.

Carolyn is survived by: her children, Lisa Washburn (Jason) of Surprise, AZ, David Piken (Micheleen) of Monument, CO; sister, Mary Young of Arvada, CO; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and brother, Frank Winter Jr.

Gerald Norman Belden, 92, passed away October 24, 2024, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. He was born on July 21, 1932, in Sterling, the son of Emerson and Norma Baker Belden. He graduated from Alden High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been a member of the Alden Baptist Church and later the First Church of God, Hutchinson. He was a farmer most of his life and considered himself a master fence builder. He built fences for miles and was extremely proud of it. He was honored to be able to do the Honor Flight. His grandkids all loved to be around him.

He married Clara Mae Williford, and they later parted ways. He then married Pattie Warnock Yates on January 2, 1998, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; children, Brian (Debby) Belden, Susan (Keith) Patterson, Sara Quinn, and Sharon (Max) Comstock; stepchildren, Rebecca (Tracy) Spencer, Kim (Arlan) Hoffman, Cathy (Jase) Samuelson, Robert (Laurie) Yates, Timothy (Robin) Yates, and Jennifer (Bob) Webster; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 32 step grandchildren; and 75 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brent Belden; and siblings, Zola McGonigle, Patricia Key, Bonnie Ludwick, Mary Cross, Glennis Gunter, Danny Belden and Shirley Sue Belden.

It was Gerald’s wishes to be cremated. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2024 at CrossPoint Sterling, 109 W. Garfield Ave, Sterling, Kansas.

Johnny Leroy Davis, 74, of Hutchinson, died October 24, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born May 22, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Granville C. “Red” and DeEtta E. (Gilliland) Davis.

Johnny graduated from Hutchinson High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1969-1971. Johnny worked as a corrections officer at KSIR/HCF for many years, retiring as a sergeant in 2002. He also worked and had a restaurant at the Kansas State Fair for many years. Johnny was a member of Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. &amp; A.M.

He is survived by: companion, Dot Davis; daughters, Susan, Tessa, RayEtta; grandchildren, Lisa, Kelsey, Thomas, Colton; great-grandson, Xander; sisters, Barbara Barringer (Norman), Jerrie Pitts (Bill), Theresa Salmans (Gary); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Johnny was preceded in death by: his parents, infant brother, Granville C. Davis Jr., sister, Linda Brown; and grandson, Darren.

Kelly C. Everhart, 62, of Hutchinson, died October 24, 2024, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 6, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Dale and Donna “Susan” (Ruble) McConnell.

Kelly graduated from Nickerson High School with the class of 1980. She began her working career at Alco in Hutchinson then onto Kingsley-Wagner auto supply store where she assisted with shipping and deliveries. Kelly worked in management at Ryder Truck Rental in Hutchinson. She operated an in-home daycare for more than 20 years. Kelly was a manager at Walgreens where she worked for more than 10 years.&nbsp;

She loved the University of Kansas Basketball and watched every game she could. One of Kelly’s favorite pastimes was watching and helping at dirt track races. She enjoyed planting flowers, swimming in her pool, going to the lake, and tanning during the summer. Kelly treasured her four-legged fur babies, Harley and Dilly which will miss her. Raylin crossed the rainbow bridge before Kelly and was there to greet her.&nbsp;

On July 29, 2010, she married Tracy Everhart in Hutchinson. They shared 14 years of marriage before her death.&nbsp;

Kelly is survived by: husband, Tracy Everhart; daughters, Sarah Stucky of Hutchinson and Shelby (Ethyn Hafner) Stucky of Mt. Hope; brother, Johnathan McConnell of Hutchinson; sister, Shannon Redenbaugh of Hutchinson; nieces, Kren Littrell and Katie Young.

Ricky L. Vanderpool, 73, of Hutchinson, passed away October 23, 2024, surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many other family and friends. He was born March 23, 1951, in Cassville, MO, one of five children born to Earl and Pearl (Priest) Vanderpool.

Rick grew up in Ulysses. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1970.

On June 27, 1971, Rick married Janey M. Wenzel, in Hutchinson. Two daughters and one son - Dymond, Amber, and Ricky Jr. - were born to this union.

He worked for Wenzel Construction for many years and, in his latest years, drove a truck and spent most of his time farming and raising cattle.&nbsp;

Rick loved his wife (especially in her mini skirt), his beloved dog Ginger, his children, and most of all, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rick was a duct tape handyman, an old troublemaker from his youth, a jack of all trades, and a man who could be counted on at all times. His up-to-no-good laugh was contagious and he always had a tale to tell. If you couldn’t find him, he was out with his cows in the pasture.

Rick will be remembered as a loving, ornery, and soft-hearted husband, father, Papa, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol; and brother, Raymond.

Rick is survived by: his wife, Janey; children, Dymond Schreiber (Patrick O’Neal), Amber (Josh) Gumble, Ricky (Amy) Vanderpool Jr.; nine grandchildren, Hanna (Trever) Lehr, Tiffan Gumble, Maddie (Klyde) Kreifels, Steven Gumble, Gracie (Garrett) Price, Lillie Vanderpool, Ashtyn Schreiber (fiancé Zach Hobbs), Lanie Vanderpool, Dylan Vanderpool; five great-grandchildren, Maverick, Ellie, Ivy, Emmie, Jovie; brothers, Kenneth and Eddie Vanderpool; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

One of Rick’s final wishes was to be an organ donor and proudly help others.

Wanda R. Meier, 86, died October 23, 2024, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born August 9, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Floyd C. and Ruth Babe (Stoughton) Bogner, Sr.

Wanda graduated from Burrton High School in 1953. She was an accountant and owner of Meier Tax Service from 1964 to 2020. Wanda enjoyed nature, working in the yard and gardening and watching the birds and squirrels. She loved her horses growing up and was always the happiest with a dog by her side. She and her husband enjoyed riding motorcycle and took many trips together on them.&nbsp;

On May 30, 1953, she married Robert E. “Dynamite Bob” Meier, at the First Christian Church in Burrton. They shared over 45 years together, prior to his death on June 5, 1999.

Wanda is survived by: daughter, Melody (Larry) Freeman of Hutchinson; son, Darin Meier; grandchildren, Justin (Lindsey) Freeman and Shawn (Allison) Freeman; great-grandchildren, Dorian, Sylvia, Hailey and Delilah, all of Burrton; and brothers, Lloyd Bogner of Holland, MI and Floyd (Kathy) Bogner Jr. of Burrton.&nbsp;

Kenneth Kenny LeRoy Schmidt, 73, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024. He went to his heavenly home surrounded by his wife and four daughters who loved, admired, and respected him deeply.&nbsp;

Known as “Sodbuster” to those who knew him the longest, Kenny was born on January 6, 1951, to Vernon and Lydia (Scheel) Schmidt in Hutchinson, KS. He was raised on the family’s farm near Mt. Hope, KS, and was the baby of the family with three older sisters. Kenny attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Haven High School in 1969. He attended Hutchinson Community College before purchasing a farm north of Haven. Cattle buying and farming became Kenny’s livelihood for the next 50 years. He began several businesses with his family, including S&amp;S Feeder Cattle, Four Star Cattle, S&amp;H Farms, K&amp;S Cattle, and K&amp;S Truck Sales. Kenny traveled throughout the Midwest buying and selling cattle and was a co-owner of Central Livestock in South Hutchinson for several years. Eventually, he and his nephew began a large hay operation and feed truck business. Kenny retired in 2017.

On December 4, 1976, Kenny married Dallas Irene Harris in Newton, KS. Four daughters - Elizabeth, Kendra, Katie, and Erin - were born into this union. He taught his girls to always work hard, do their best the first time, and not hang their heads for anyone. While he thoroughly enjoyed watching them at softball games and their frequent company in the salebarn stands when they were younger, Kenny often shared his pride in the women, leaders, and mothers they became as adults. This same pride and love extended to his three granddaughters - Sophie, Amelia, and Charlotte. Being their Papa was one of his favorite roles. In addition to his girls, Kenny loved and was so proud of his nephew, Sean, who continues to buy cattle and farm with his sons north of Haven.&nbsp;

Kenny loved Sunday drives, a comfortable recliner, a good truck, his faithful pups, and old-fashioned sour cream donuts. If you were fortunate enough to call him a friend, you knew he was rich with lessons about life, land, and cattle. He was a hard worker, an intuitive businessman, maintained integrity and resilience in the face of difficulty, and was as ornery as they come. While “Don’t tell your mom!” was perhaps his most frequent utterance, Kenny’s colorful descriptions of holes in snow banks, broad sides of barns, alligator mouths, and hummingbird you-know-whats filled the stories and lessons he often shared. A member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Kenny knew and was loved by his Lord.&nbsp;

Kenny will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, Papa, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lois Wagoner. He is survived by: his wife, Dallas; daughters, Elizabeth (Andre’) Parker, Kendra (Jeromy) McAlister, Katie (Matt) Gee, and Dr. Erin Schmidt; three granddaughters, Sophie McAlister and Amelia and Charlotte Gee; his nephew, Sean (Tina) Hartung; sisters, Norma Hartung and Linda Brockman; brothers-in-law, Roger Wagoner and Olin Harris; sisters-in-law, Andrea Baker and Susan Harris; two great-nephews and partners-in-crime, Patrick and Luke Hartung; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E. 30th St, Hutchinson. &nbsp;A visitation with family will be held on Friday, Nov. 1 from 4:00-6:00, and the celebration of Kenny’s life will be on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10:00 with Pastor Lisa Simmelink and Father Larry Carver officiating. &nbsp;A light lunch will be served immediately following.

Delmer Henry Thibault, former resident of Hutchinson, Kansas passed away on October 19, 2024 at Locust Grove Village in Lacrosse, KS at the age of 89. He was born July 15, 1935, in Graham County Kansas to Leo and Lola (Benoit) Thibault, the oldest of twelve siblings. Delmer began his life in Bogue and Damar, KS until the dust bowl, the drought and hopes of a better job moved his family to California in August of 1943 in the midst of WWII. The Thibaults spent the next few years in California until they moved back to Osborne, Kansas to farm in 1946.

Delmer graduated from Osborne High School on May 21st, 1953. He and his cousin Jed Simoneau decided that the military was the best pursuit. Delmer enlisted in the Army on July 28th, 1955, and was a mechanic in the Army’s 2nd Howitzer Battalion in the 6th Artillery Regiment and received numerous decorations for his service. He was honorably discharged on June 30th, 1963.

Returning from the Army, Delmer and friends Marvin Reynolds and Don Forgue worked for contractors to build the Wilson Lake dam and other dams in Kansas. After doing this for a couple years, they decided to enroll at Fort Hays State University where Delmer pursued a degree in psychology with help from the GI Bill and by working as an orderly and operating room technician at Hadley Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

In 1965 Delmer met Patricia Schuckman at Fort Hays State University then marrying on September 10th, 1966, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Hays, Kansas. They lived in Wooster Place, then Agnew Hall and McMindes Hall as resident managers. After Delmer completed his undergraduate degree in psychology, then his master’s degree in counseling August 1968, he started working at High Plains Mental Health in Hays, KS. They moved to Ellis, Kansas in 1973 where they welcomed their only child Paul in 1976 and later separated.

Delmer spent many of his years in Hutchinson, Kansas where he set roots and worked as a psychologist at Horizons Mental Health Center. He was very dedicated to his profession and enjoyed helping his clients. He looked forward to summer vacations with his son Paul biking, hiking and exploring in Missouri and Arkansas. They played tennis on most summer nights, and had countless weekend trips to Cheney Lake near Wichita, KS to go sailboating.&nbsp;

Delmer met Marilyn Marie Clarke Sherman in May of 2010 at the Elmdale Senior Center in Hutchinson, KS where they danced and visited with friends. Delmer and Marilyn were engaged on September 29th, 2010. They enjoyed vacationing during their time together and attending an annual trip to Branson to meet his Army Battalion friends. They both retired from their careers together in 2011 and have been together ever since.&nbsp;

Delmer was a devoted father. He was kindhearted, well read, very hard-working and industrious. He had a great sense of humor and an ornery streak that got him into trouble a time or two. He loved spending his free time sailing, biking, tinkering, working on old tractors, going to threshing festivals, listening to French Cajun and classical music, and playing cards. Going to auctions was his favorite past time. Delmer will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Delmer is survived by son Paul Thibault (Jennifer), grandchildren Miles and Martin Thibault, significant other Marilyn Sherman and siblings Leola Crittendon, Albuquerque, NM, Sister Carmella Thibault, Concordia, KS, Gerry Peterson, Salina, KS, Joyce (Dan) Rice, Hays, KS, Marion (Paul) Steichen, Salina, KS Gary (Gayle) Thibault, Omaha, NE, Alvin (Danette) Thibault, Omaha, NE, Lonnie (Lea) Thibault, Osborne, KS, Lester Thibault, Osborne, KS, and Bob Thibault, Topeka, KS. Janet Elaine Hobbick, 71, died October 20, 2024, at Crown Care Rehab and Health Care Center, Harrisonville, MO. &nbsp;She was born November 4, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Keith Fredrick and Barbara Lou (Skellenger) Hobbick.

Janet graduated from the Kansas School for the Deaf, in 1972. &nbsp;She enjoyed working on crafts.

Janet is survived by: &nbsp;sisters, Sandy Wedman (Dean), Lynn Montgomery (Chuck), and Kim Trent (Marc), all of Hutchinson; close friends, Donna Lambeth and Sue Houchin, both of Drexel, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by: &nbsp;her parents; maternal grandparents; George and May Skellenger; paternal grandparents, Hilda and Robert Hobbick; brothers, Doug Hobbick and Mike Hobbick; sister, Ginger Werth and husband Fred; and two nephews.&nbsp;

Billie Lynn Wolf, 71, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home in Medora. He was born on October 31, 1952, in Hoxie, Kansas, the son of Celestine and Rosalie Stapleton Wolf. He graduated from Hutchinson High School. He married his sweetheart Christine Bruce on April 22, 1972, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

Billie was known as Mr. Fix it all. His children and grandchildren often called him to help fix things at their homes. He loved to hunt and fish and race homing pigeons. He could tell the difference between a homing pigeon and a regular pigeon at first glance. He absolutely enjoyed watching all the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals games. His biggest enjoyment though was his family. He loved being a dad, grandpa, and ga. He got the biggest kick out of riding the golf cart around with the grandkids and great grandkids and was a huge jokester. There was not a person he did not meet that did not love Billie.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine, Medora; 2 children and their spouses, Jason and Vicki Wolf, Medora and Shelly and Alan Cole, Buhler; a brother, Jerry Wolf, South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Dusty (Jordan Bauer) Wolf, Dakota (Addie) Wolf, and Jonathan Cole; and great grandchildren, Chev Reimer, Braxton Wolf, Jaxx Bauer, and Beckett Wolf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gail Wolf; and a grandson, David Cole.

It was Billie’s wish to be cremated. A visitation with the family present will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Inman Funeral Home. A Parish Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Curtis Joe Hendrickson, 59, of South Hutchinson, died October 17, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born May 23, 1965, in Hutchinson, to Donnie J. and Phyllis L. (Kunzie) Hendrickson.

Curtis graduated from Hutchinson High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1986-1988. Curtis worked as a welder for a time and then went to work at Hustler, in Hesston, as a 3D tooling engineer for over 12 years. Music was Curtis’ life, playing guitar and singing in his band, Redline, for many years.

On October 18, 1985, he married Dana L. Miller, in Hutchinson. They raised 3 sons together.

Curtis is survived by: his sons, Derek Hendrickson of Englewood, CO, Dustin Hendrickson (Leigha) of West Hills, CA, Nathan Hendrickson (Courtney) of Hastings, NE; grandchildren, Jayson Hendrickson of Belleville, Emersyn Hendrickson of Hastings, NE; sister, Kim Elliott (Mike) of South Hutchinson; nephews, Matt Elliott (Brandy) of South Hutchinson, Christian Elliott (Jessie) of McPherson; great-nieces, Kaedynce and Kadeyn Elliott; uncles, Thomas Kunzie (Becky) of Hutchinson, Raymond Kunzie of Wichita; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Joseph Kunzie.

Mildred L. Suderman-Leeper, 91, of Buhler, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. She was born on December 2, 1932 in Newton, Kansas, to Mildor and Frieda (Schwartz) Frey.

She graduated from Newton High School and later attended Hutchinson Community College.

Mildred was united in marriage to Richard E. Suderman on May 23, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2008. She later married Erwin E. Leeper on April 18, 2015. He passed away February 10, 2024.

She was a devoted homemaker and dairy farmer with her husband, Richard. After Richard and Mildred sold the farm, she worked as a manager of boys wear at Sears.

She worked for Colladay Hardware as a bookkeeper and later worked in Estee Lauder in Dillards.

Mildred was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church in Inman, where she was choir director and accompanist. She also did some Sunday School teaching.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Raymond) Friesen of Inman, Debra (Stephen) Carty of Inman, and Deann Wiggers of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Brett (Jill) Wiens, Tara (Nate) Oswald, Brandon Wiggers (fiancé, Amber DeLaCruz); grandson-in-law, Justin Osborn; six great-grandchildren, Cade, Cole, Corynn, and Cambry Osborn, and Tryn and Bree Oswald; and sister, Darlene Goering of Moundridge.
