Frank Davies, 91, formerly of Hutchinson, died Wednesday, December 27, 2025, in St. Joseph, MO, at the home of his son, Jay Davies.

He was born September 21, 1934, in Hutchinson, the youngest son of Norwood Harold and Irene Martha (Turner) Davies, Sr.   

In 1954, Frank joined the Army National Guard.  From 1954 to 1955, he worked at the Hutchinson Airport fueling airplanes.  

Frank then enrolled in the Kansas City Bible College where he studied for a year.  After Bible College, he joined the United States Air Force in 1956 where Frank served as a lineman on Ramey Airforce Base in Puerto Rico.   When his dad passed away in 1957, he returned home to help take care of his mother. 

Frank went to work for Betts Baking Company in 1959 where he held many production roles including setting pans, working ovens, and running the mixers.  He retired from Betts Baking Company in 1989, after 30 years of service.

On July 22, 1967, Frank married Patricia (Campbell) Depew, at Union Valley Church, Hutchinson. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1991.

Frank enjoyed riding motorcycles and attending motorcycle races.  He took his family to Kanopolis Lake to camp, boat, and ski regularly during summer weekends.  Frank was a charter member of the Ark Valley Good Sam Club.  He enjoyed family vacations in places like Six Flags Over Texas, Minnesota (where the family took a scenic airplane ride in a seaplane), California, Arizona, Oregon, Branson, MO, and many more.

Survivors include: one son, Jay Davies (Leslie), St Joseph, MO; three stepchildren, Glenn Depew (Linda), Hutchinson, Debbie Hildebrand (Rick), South Hutchinson, Vicki Gale (Dave), St. Joseph. MO; two grandsons, Lance Davies (Kyleigh), St Joseph, MO and Justin Davies (Kindall), St Joseph, MO; eight step-grandchildren, Mike Depew, Hutchinson, Tana Spradlin (Justin), Burrton, Nick Brown (Hannah), Jay, OK, Mindy Brown, Hutchinson, Matt Hildebrand (Morgan), Ozark, MO, John Gale (Melissa), McKaley Taylor,  and Hannah Taylor;  20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; five nephews and nieces, Harold Davies (Janet), Mike Davies (Kathy), Karen Dalke (Randy), Tim Davies (Carolyn), and Debbie Davies; plus numerous friends. 

He was also preceded in death by:  his parents; two brothers, Norwood Davies, Jr. and Robert Duren; one grandson, Steven Depew; one nephew, Robert Duren; and one niece, Patricia Davies. 

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Elliot Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Karen Dalke officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson with military honors conducted by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
