
Daniel Creighton Heller, 66, died January 2, 2026, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born June 12, 1959, in Kansas City, KS, to Kenneth Charles Heller and Margaret Velore Edwards.
Daniel worked as a welder and travelled frequently for work. He was a simple man with a free spirit. Daniel enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved his family and always made it a priority to spend time with them, especially his grandchildren. Daniel was an advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotic Anonymous; he was very proud of his own and others accomplishment through their mission. He was active in the church prison ministry as well as hosting AA meetings in jails and prisons.
Daniel is survived by: his children, Elijah Heller of Concordia, Lance (Jessica) Heller of Superior, NE, and Aubrey George of Hutchinson; mother, Margaret Edwards of St. Paul, NE; granddaughters, Amelia and Aubrianna; nephew, Eric C. (Krystina) Heller of Fairbury, NE; niece, Crystal (Matt) Harral of Beatrice, NE; as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Kenneth C. Heller; and brothers, Eric G. Heller and Kenneth S. Heller.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the Steele City Cemetery, 705th Rd., Steele City, NE. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
