Barbara Sue Nisly, 62, passed away March 8, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born Nov. 13, 1958, in Washington, Indiana, to Mervin Leroy Lengacher, a farmer, carpenter, and Amish-Mennonite pastor, and Orpha (Wagler) Lengacher, a homemaker.

Throughout her life, Sue exemplified Christ’s compassion and love for all, and she strove to support people in pain, whether from illness, mistreatment, rejection or bereavement. Sue grew up on a poultry farm and loved playing softball and volleyball. Though she didn’t continue high school beyond the 11th grade, Sue was intellectually curious and widely read, and went on to serve as a schoolteacher for two years in her community in Indiana. She grew to know her future husband, Cliff, during a term of service at the River Forest Nursing Home in Three Rivers, Michigan, and they were married on Nov. 3, 1979, in Montgomery, Indiana.

They moved to Cliff’s home in rural Hutchinson, where they worked together for four years as Area Supervisors for Choice Books of Kansas. Sue spent the next three decades working as a partner to Cliff on their dairy farm, and as a homemaker for her sons Justin and Jadon, as well as for a number of foster children. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, showing Brown Swiss cows at the state fair and national shows, and volunteering as a 4-H leader.

Her own experience of illness — Sue survived three bouts of cancer, innumerable surgeries, and a liver transplant in 2012 — did not reduce her vigor for life, but instead made her a fierce advocate for all those living with disease and disability. Young people were always welcome in her home; as a survivor of violence in her youth, she provided invaluable love and support without judgement to many who were struggling or suffering.

Sue is survived by: her husband of 41 years, Clifford Nisly; children, Justin Nisly (Namrata Kolachalam) and Jadon Nisly-Goretzki (Lisa); step-mother, Delilah (Wagler) Lengacher; siblings, Ruth Ann (Rick) Stoll, Mark (Angie), Matt (Amy), Merv (Gina) and Tim (Dena); step-siblings, Merlin Wagler and Marla Gehman; uncles and aunts, Uriah Wagler, Miriam Gerig, Naomi Swartzentruber, Barb Miller, Roman Wagler, Betty Flynn, Glenn, Harold, and Ray Lengacher, Sylvia Marner, Betty Marner; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Leroy and Orpha, brother, Michael, and uncle, Harvey Wagler.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Pleasantview Activity Center, 5013 S. Dean Road. Visitation will from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Activity Center. A second memorial service will be held in Sue’s childhood community of Daviess County, Indiana on March 27, with additional details to follow soon.

Jean Louise Freeseman, 64, of Hutchinson, died on March 7, 2021, at her home. She was born May 19, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to Donald and Mary (Jarchow) Wagner.

Jean graduated high school in 1974, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She worked as a collection agent for a law office. Jean was a member of the American Legion and VFW auxiliary. She loved to read and made beautiful cross stitch pieces. Though she did not have her own children, Jean loved and spoiled any child that she knew.

On Jan. 1, 1996, she married Thomas Scott Freeseman in Overland Park, Kansas. They shared 25 years together.

Jean is survived by husband, Tom Freeseman, Hutchinson; brother, Richard Wagner, Spring, Texas; sister, Catherine Bernardy, Hutchinson, Minnesota; brother, Joseph Wagner, Eden Prairie, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time.

Ruth M. Yutzy, 92, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 2, 2021, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, Kansas. Ruth Marilyn Roupp was born March 18, 1928, to John and Lillie (Balmer) Roupp in Newton, Kansas. She was the middle of five children. Ruth grew up and spent her childhood in rural Hesston and attended the Hesston Academy. After college she taught school in a rural schoolhouse, Shady Side, outside of Newton for three years.

On August 10, 1950, Ruth married Paul A. Yutzy in rural Hesston, a day so hot the candles melted before they were lit. She and Paul lived in Yoder a short time and later moved to the farm where he was raised southwest of Hutchinson. She was a homemaker for the first 20 years of their marriage, being active in church work, the school and neighborhood, always willing to provide a home-cooked meal or fruit basket for friends or those in need. In October of 1970, the family moved to Hutchinson. About that time, Ruth went to work outside the home for the first time since they were married. She spent many years in food service, first at Mennonite Manor and later for USD 308. Her last 24 years of service were as Director of Junior Volunteers/Volunteens at Hutchinson Hospital, a job she truly loved. For years after teens moved out of the program, many would intentionally keep in touch with her, popping into the office and sending notes or coming up to talk to her when they saw her out in public. She estimated that she had worked with more than 370 Volunteens over the years.

Ruth was a woman of deep faith, living it out in her day-to-day life. She was a faithful member of Journey Mennonite Church for 70 years, where she actively served in numerous capacities throughout the years.

Ruth’s family was very important to her. She would often ask about the great-grandchildren’s progress and loved being hugged and kissed by them. Her prayers covered her entire family each day.

Music was always an important part of Ruth’s life. In her early years she sang in a quartet with good friends and occasionally revived the music with them and others later. She loved to play the piano, sang in an octet with Paul and enjoyed attending her family members’ programs and concerts.

Ruth and Paul enjoyed traveling and were fortunate to spend time traveling to numerous places inside and outside the United States, including the Panama Canal, Europe, Alaska, and Costa Rica for their grandson’s wedding.

After Ruth and Paul moved to Mennonite Friendship Communities in August 2008, she was able to enjoy the benefits of a smaller home with less housekeeping, allowing more time to do the things she enjoyed. Even there, she was involved in the residents’ council and enjoyed her “neighborhood,” keeping up with those in her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband on December 29, 2011, and a daughter, Ronda Kay, was stillborn on March 9, 1960. Her parents and older brothers, Willard and Milford, and her younger sister, Elda Guhr, also preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Sondra (Bill) Popp and Rita (Bill) Eldridge, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren Cameron Popp (Andrea Cordero), Falls Church, VA; Megan (Dustin) Miller; Cassi (David) Johnston, all of Hutchinson; and Kyle Eldridge, McPherson; great-grandchildren Noah and Miriam Popp; Brody and Whitney Miller; Adelynn, Ava and Oliver Johnston; and brother Delbert (JoAnn) Roupp of Colorado.

Wilma Phelps, 96, died peacefully at her longtime home of Schowalter Villa in Hesston, Kansas on 3 March 2021.

Wilma was born on the 24 January 1925 in Beaver Crossing Nebraska to Elbert and Clara Hostetler (nee Burkey).&nbsp; She was the oldest of 6 children:&nbsp; Eldon Hostetler&nbsp; (Eileen), Edith Reed (Robin), Margie Swartzendruber (Wayne), Leila DeVoe (Paul) and Vada Clemens (Gene).&nbsp;

Wilma felt fortunate to attend Hesston College and graduated with an Academic Diploma in 1945.&nbsp; Her first main job was as a Secretary with the Mennonite Central Committee in Akron Pennsylvania.&nbsp; After a year and a half with them she signed up with MCC for supporting the refugee efforts from WWII.&nbsp; She spent the following 3 years in Canada, Naples Italy &amp; Gronau Germany.&nbsp; Upon return she worked for Hesston College for 2 years before moving to Colorado.&nbsp;

While in Colorado she met her husband Robert (Bob) Phelps and they married on 28 September 1963.&nbsp; They had 2 children James and Beth.&nbsp; Sadly, Bob died in a car accident on 11 September 1973.

Wilma leaves to cherish her memory her children and grandchildren – James and Amy and their boys Ryder and Hawke (Colorado) and Beth and Matt and their children Emma and Noah (New Zealand) along with her youngest sister Vada and her husband Gene (Pennsylvania) and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Anyone who will have known Wilma will remember her smile.&nbsp; You rarely saw her without that beautiful accessory.&nbsp; She found the good in everything and everyone and loved unconditionally.&nbsp; She saw the beauty in the simple and was a lover of animals and the natural world.&nbsp; She had a green thumb like no other.&nbsp; The ripple effects of her many beautiful things made a big impact to the lives of many.

Leonard Ree Garey, 98, of Hutchinson, passed away March 7, 2021, at Legend Senior Living. He was born November 19, 1922, in Stafford, KS, to his parents, Charles Milton Garey and Eula Dean Hopkins Garey.

Leonard graduated from Sterling High School in 1941. He served his country as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army for 20 years, serving in World War II, the Korean War era, and the Vietnam War era. Leonard also spent 16 years in the Civil Service.

Leonard married the love of his life, Betty Carol Colle Garey, on April 25, 1942. They lived a full life together and celebrated 72 wedding anniversaries together before her death on June 5, 2014. Leonard lived in or visited all 50 states and 22 foreign countries. They had 2 children: Keith Dean and Marilyn Carol.

Leonard was a 32nd&nbsp;Degree Mason, a member of Sterling Masonic Lodge #171 A.F. &amp; A.M., Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of CrossPoint Church.

Leonard was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Carol Colle Garey; his parents, Charles Milton Garey and Eula Dean Hopkins Garey; 3 brothers, Lester, Loren, Ivan; and a son-in-law, Robert Dee Stange.

Survivors include: Keith Dean Garey (son) and Sharon Lynn Stafford Garey (daughter-in-law), Sterling, KS; Marilyn Carol Garey (Stange) Volin (daughter) and James Milton Volin (son-in-law), Hutchinson, KS; Curt Dean Garey (grandson) and Marita Taylan Albano Garey (granddaughter-in-law), Wichita, KS; and great-grandson, Thaddeus Dean Albano Garey, and great-grandson, Joah Silas Albano Garey; Kimberly Lynn Garey Trujillo (granddaughter) and Edward Dean Trujillo (grandson-in-law), Valley Center, KS; and great-grandson, Lincoln Dean Trujillo, and great-grandson, Hudson Garey Trujillo.

Leonard was a Christian man who placed God first in his life; second, his family whom he loved dearly; and third, his beloved country, America. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, who is with the Lord this day.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary. A private family graveside service will be held in Sterling Community Cemetery, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

He was born November 19, 1922, in Stafford, KS, to his parents, Charles Milton Garey and Eula Dean Hopkins Garey.Leonard graduated from Sterling High School in 1941. He served his country as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army for 20 years, serving in World War II, the Korean War era, and the Vietnam War era. Leonard also spent 16 years in the Civil Service.Leonard married the love of his life, Betty Carol Colle Garey, on April 25, 1942. They lived a full life together and celebrated 72 wedding anniversaries together before her death on June 5, 2014. Leonard lived in or visited all 50 states and 22 foreign countries. They had 2 children: Keith Dean and Marilyn Carol.Leonard was a 32nd&nbsp;Degree Mason, a member of Sterling Masonic Lodge #171 A.F. &amp; A.M., Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and Order of the Eastern Star. Kyoung Sook Alonzo, 78, died March 4, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; She was born December 29, 1942, in North Korea, to Taek Hwan and Soon Duk (Choi) Chun.&nbsp;

Kyoung graduated from high school in Korea, and received her bachelor’s degree.&nbsp; After moving to Hutchinson, she worked as the Customer Service Manager for Hastings for over 25 years, starting out when Hastings was located at the Hutchinson Mall.&nbsp; Kyoung then transitioned to the new Hastings building, formerly on 30th&nbsp;Street.&nbsp; Known for her exemplary customer service, grace, and smile, Kyoung truly loved all her customers and co-workers, gaining friendships that have lasted through the years. In addition, she helped her husband, Mike, with their family business, Alonzo’s General Service.

Kyoung was an accomplished artist, enjoyed playing the bass, and listening to various types of music.&nbsp; &nbsp;She LOVED her KU Jayhawks, and for many years, would attend every football game (to watch her grandson play in the band).&nbsp; Kyoung’s love for the KU Jayhawks was second though, to her love for her grandchildren.&nbsp; Kyoung’s grandchildren were the center of her universe, and she strived to attend every activity they were involved in, even attending their college events. No distance was too long to travel for Kyoung to proudly support her grandchildren. &nbsp;She was an active member of The Cornerstone Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

On January 19, 1966, she married Michael “Mike” Alonzo, in Seoul, Korea.&nbsp; Mike and Kyoung met while he was serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict.&nbsp; They shared 53 years of marriage before his death on February 22, 2019.

Kyoung is survived by: daughter, Jacqueline Suiter and husband Dale of Divide, CO; grandchildren, Benjamin Appel of Lawrence, Samantha Appel of Hutchinson, Brennan Stewart of Kansas City, MO, Meghan Stewart of Wichita, Mitchell Stewart and Michael Stewart, both of Hutchinson; sisters, Jeong Sook of Korea and Un Mi of Florida; brothers, Heung Jai of Houston, TX and Il Jai of Korea; Benjamin and Samantha’s father, Micheal Appel of Hutchinson; and her faithful beloved companions, Peanut and Sami.

Mabel Lee Bledsoe, 90, died March 4, 2021.&nbsp; She was born August 30, 1930, in Cedar, MO, to Rexie William and Janie A. (Boak) Spencer.

On August 31, 1948 (the day after Mabel graduated high school), she married Hurlie W. Bledsoe, Jr., in Salem, AR.&nbsp; He died June 28, 2002.

Mabel and Hurlie moved from Independence, MO, to Hutchinson, in 1984.&nbsp; She was a homemaker, and also worked in a bank and as a waitress.&nbsp; Mabel enjoyed reading, cross stitch, embroidering, cooking (especially cookies), and babysitting for her family and friends.

Mabel is survived by:&nbsp; son, Greg of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Anna Lou Marcum and husband Ron; sister-in-law, Sandy Spencer; special niece, Cassandra Bartel&nbsp; and husband Brandon, all of Hutchinson; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Michael and Sheila Lucia of Hutchinson and Mary Lou and Bob Voorheis of MO; and caregiver, Maribeth Mullanix and her dog, Bailey.

Raymond Nisly, 94, died March 8, 2021, at Reflection Living, Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born Sept. 26, 1926, in rural Reno County, to Levi and Mary (Bontrager) Nisly.

Raymond was a farmer, but faith, family, and service to others were paramount in his life. With a servant heart, he would share his God-given talents volunteering to help those in need.&nbsp; He and his wife, Mary, always had an interest in missions and sharing the word of Jesus.&nbsp; They volunteered for over 35 years with Rosedale Mennonite Missions.&nbsp; Most notable was in 1980, when they served an African-American community for three years in Boykin, Alabama. While there, Raymond and Mary would spend their entire days serving those in need and learning about&nbsp; their new-found friends through worship, fellowship, and meals.&nbsp; They also helped start and were charter members of Plainview Mennonite Church and Maranatha Mennonite Church.&nbsp; In addition, he volunteered over 30 years for the prison fellowship group, leading Bible studies.&nbsp; Raymond was a member of Maranatha Mennonite Church for 40 years.

On Nov. 7, 1948, he married Mary Yoder, at Plainview Mennonite Church, Hutchinson. Their marriage was the second marriage at the church.&nbsp; They shared almost 69 years of marriage, prior to her death on October 17, 2017. &nbsp;

Raymond is survived by:&nbsp; children, Janice Lee of Hutchinson, Nevin Nisly (Joann) of Partridge, Geneva Nisly (Mark Buckley) of Hutchinson, and Jason Nisly of Loveland, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; siblings, Emma Stutzman, John Nisly, Henry Nisly, Barbara Yoder, Elizabeth Bender, Fred Nisly, and Rufus Nisly; son-in-law, Nelson Lee; and daughters-in-law, Alta Nisly and Linda Nisly.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at Maranatha Mennonite Church, 3115 Blanchard SW, Hutchinson, with Pastors Paul Nisly and Chad Eigsti officiating. Terrie Anne Curiel, 55, died March 4, 2021, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, in the care of Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born June 24, 1965 in Hutchinson, to Pamela S. (Brown) Curiel and Rudolph Curiel.

A Hutchinson native, Terrie graduated from Hutchinson High School, class of 1983, and joined the military following graduation. After basic training she moved to Tucson, AZ. Terrie was deployed to Desert Storm from Fort Huachuca in 1990. After returning to the U.S., she worked airport and border security. Staff Sgt. Terrie Curiel retired from the military May 31, 2002. After the service, she worked as a caregiver in private home health care.

Terrie enjoyed long walks, bicycling, and cats. She always had a cat from the time she was a very young girl. Her cat, Sami, was allowed to stay with her during the final days and was a constant companion.

Preceding Terrie in death were: her mother, Pam McFerren; her brother, Alex Curiel; paternal grandparents, Catherine and Manuel Curiel; and maternal grandparents, Carol and Wallace E. &nbsp;Brown Jr.

Survivors include: her father, Rudy Curiel and step-mom, Shirley Curiel; niece, Jayden Curiel; nephew, Brayden Curiel, all of Hutchinson; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will have a private service and burial.

Karen Bea (Geffert) Chambers passed away on Feb. 20, 2021 at Baylor Scott &amp; White All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.&nbsp;She was born on July 23, 1941 to Russell and Bessie Geffert.

 Karen was a 1959 graduate of Haven High School. She moved to Fort Worth, Texas with her husband and children and became a Commercial Artist for Branch Smith Publishing. In 1970, the family moved to Sealy, Texas and started&nbsp;The Brahman Journal. She was involved with 4H, FFA and her church’s youth groups. Once the children grew up, Karen and her husband moved back to Fort Worth where she worked for&nbsp;The Weekly Livestock Reporter. In 1984, Karen was honored with the Margaret McCaskey award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the profession of journalism. In 1986, Karen started her own printing company handling craft patterns such as “Designs by Sally” and livestock art for Orren Mixer. Karen was involved with both her local Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, Karen retired from the American Paint Horse Association.&nbsp;

Sewing and crafts were lifelong hobbies and after retirement, making jewelry became her favorite thing to create and sell. Karen then moved to Cleburne, Texas, and continued to be involved in social events and loved to travel.

She is survived by her children, Kandy (Robert) Yates of Cleburne, Texas, and Price (BriAnne) Chambers of Vidor, Texas; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Yates, Braden Chambers, and Blaine Chambers; sister-in-law, Anne Geffert of Coweta, Oklahoma, and numerous cousins.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Geffert, Bessie Mayfield Geffert Kohler, stepfather, Paul Kohler, and her brother, Karol Geffert.

In 1986, Karen started her own printing company handling craft patterns such as “Designs by Sally” and livestock art for Orren Mixer. Karen was involved with both her local Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, Karen retired from the American Paint Horse Association.&nbsp;Sewing and crafts were lifelong hobbies and after retirement, making jewelry became her favorite thing to create and sell. Nancy Kay Eales, 68, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 28, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 17, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Carl and Margene (Glass) Lewis.

Nancy graduated from Nickerson High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Portfolio Recovery Associates, and farmed with her husband, Dean, raising vegetables and livestock. Nancy loved crafting and animals of all kinds, but spending time with her grandchildren is what she cherished most of all. Nancy was a member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, Hutchinson.

On September 23, 1990, she married Dean Eales in Hutchinson. He died March 7, 2020. She had been previously married to Jack Moore.

Stan Simpson, 92, of Hutchinson, passed away Feb. 28, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Dodge City, to Clof and Flora (Williams) Simpson.

Stan graduated from Ford High School and attended Colorado A&amp;M, Fort Collins, Colorado, majoring in Agriculture Economics. He married Marilyn Patterson in 1949, in Ford. They divorced in 1978. Stan served in the U.S. Air Force, flying as Loadmaster on Military Air Transport (MATS) during the Korean conflict. He worked for Farmer Marketing and Supply Cooperatives in Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas as general manager at co-ops in Dodge City, Andale, and Atchison before retiring in 1984 from the Dodge City Cooperative. Stan was headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, serving as cooperative advisor to the International Labor Union, IFPAAW, Geneva, with affiliates in Asia, Africa, and Europe. He was author of “Cooperative Management Manuel”, published by the Cooperative League in three languages for use in developing countries. Stan was elected president of the Kansas Cooperative Council and the Kansas LP Gas Association and received a Kansas governor’s appointment to Director of State Grain Inspection Board. He was one of the three founding members of Servi-Tech Inc., in Dodge City.

Stan married Pat Farris Bridges in 1984, in Monterey, California. They lived on a mini-farm in Kingman County, Kansas before moving to Hutchinson in 1995. He volunteered at the Reno County Volunteer Center as a licensed defensive driving course instructor, Meals on Wheels, and the Hutchinson Animal Shelter. Stan was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon. He served as treasurer and manager of the Scroggins Foundation in Dodge City from its founding in 1983, until it was merged into the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas in 2015. He served the Community Foundation from 2016 to 2020, as their farm manager.

Stan is survived by: wife, Pat Simpson; children, Glory Spikes, Stana Geier (John), Tammy McElhinney, and Jeff Simpson; brother, Rod Simpson; grandchildren, Tanner Scott (Meggie), Jordan Gwaltney (Kevin), Jared Simpson (Claire), Ashley Lonnberg (Joe), Nick Geier (Britta) , Matthew Geier; 11 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Warren and Wes Bridges; four step-grandchildren, Samantha Taylor (Joe), Emily, Alec, and Noah Bridges.

Cherry Kay (McOmber) Oehlert went home to Jesus on February 27, 2021. She was born in Augusta, Kansas to John and Dorothy McOmber on January 17, 1945. She grew up on the family farm, where she cared for chickens and livestock along with her brothers John and Don.

Fond of the outdoors, Cherry was involved in Campfire Girls and passionate about flower and vegetable gardening from an early age. She also loved to play the piano (but only if no one was around to hear it). She graduated from Augusta High School in 1963 and attended Wichita Business College.&nbsp; She worked at Walkers Department Store as a telephone operator and spent many years working for NCR and as a receptionist for a group of doctors.

Cherry met and married Gary Oehlert in 1965, and moved to Wichita, Kansas. Cherry was a homemaker and mother to three children. She also served as a Campfire leader and volunteer with Boy Scouts and Braille at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

In retirement, Cherry was a gardener and farmer’s helper. &nbsp;She was a stamp collector and avid reader and also enjoyed bird and wildlife-watching at the farm.&nbsp; Her favorite hobby was raising colorful varieties of Iris flowers and Peonies. She loved seeing her children and grandchildren and spent countless hours doing craft projects and cooking with them.

Cherry was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy McOmber; and brother, John D. McOmber. Survivors: Gary of the home. Children: Chris (Stephanie) Oehlert, Olathe, KS; Jennifer (Dana) Brown, Wichita, KS; Gregg (Candi) Oehlert, Topeka, KS. Doyl D. Nickell, 90, was born June 20, 1930 in Fulton, Kansas, the son of Walter and Stella (Smart) Nickell.

Doyl received his doctorate of chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic Clinic. In 1973 he moved his family to Neodesha to set up his chiropractic office on Main Street where his wife Retha worked alongside him. He worked in Neodesha, KS for 40 years.

Doyl served in the United States Navy for four years.

He helped build the Flint Southern Baptist Church and lead the singing on the worship team.&nbsp;

When Doyl wasn’t spending time with his family or dedicating time to his Church, he was found telling jokes and playing golf with his son Dr. Merle Nickell and the golfers of Neodesha and Fredonia courses. He also served as the sports chiropractor for Neodesha high school. He loved the people of Neodesha and thanks them for creating such a wonderful home for him and his family for 40 years.&nbsp;

Doyl and Retha have been married since January 3, 1954. In 2012 they relocated to Moundridge, KS to be close to their son Merle, wife Valarie, and their granddaughter Aubrey.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Doyl passed away on February 24, 2021 at Pine village in Moundridge Kansas with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers. Cremation is planned. LeRoy E. Becker, 90, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Moundridge Manor.&nbsp; He was born August 25, 1930 in McPherson County, the son of Ervin J. and Adeline (Nightingale) Becker.

LeRoy worked at Hesston Corporation as an inspector and assembler, retiring after 25 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

LeRoy was united in marriage to Mildred Becker June 3, 1951. She passed away April 27, 2001. He later married Elizabeth Koehn June 21, 2002.&nbsp; She survives of the home.

Other survivors include sons, Roger (Brenda) Becker and Wendell Becker; grandson, Darren (Marcia) Becker; great grandchildren, Abigail, Jaxon, Raina and Lynna Becker, all of Moundridge; brother, John Becker of Hesston; sisters, Wilma Nightingale, Nadine Unruh, both of Moundridge, Deola (Carl) Wenger of Hesston and Judy (Harold) Koehn of Montezuma; brother-in-law, Franklin Wenger of Moundridge; and sister-in-law, Darlene (Bob) Lundberg of McPherson. &nbsp;&nbsp;

William (Bill) Boesch, 80, passed away February 25, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; He was born April 13, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, NE, to Joseph Henry and Hazel (Langan) Boesch.

Bill was a graduate of Hutchinson Community College.&nbsp; He served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy Reserve, with his military career exceeding 20 years.&nbsp; Bill was a fire inspector for the City of Hutchinson, retiring with over 20 years of service.&nbsp; He attended Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman.&nbsp; Bill enjoyed doing woodworking, telling stories, and making people laugh.&nbsp; He was involved in many activities, but his most cherished role was that of being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.&nbsp; Bill truly loved his family.

On May 21, 1960, he married Wilma Jean Carver, in Hastings, NE.&nbsp; They shared over 58 years of marriage, prior to her death on February 6, 2019.

Bill is survived by:&nbsp; his children, Linda (Bryan) Riddle of Park City, Laurie (Robert) Yates of Inman, and David (Cindy) Boesch of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Travis Jon (Alisha) Cubbage, Geena Renai (Adam) Mason, Robert Lee (Jennifer) Yates, Michael Wayne Yates, Kyrsten Jean Boesch, and Corey Lee Boesch; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and siblings, Renelda Wendburg and Anna Marie Hellbusch.

He was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; wife; and four siblings.

Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.&nbsp; Military honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps Honors Team.&nbsp; Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 256 8th Avenue, Inman, with Pastor Robert Yates officiating both services.&nbsp; Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Curtis LaVerne Graber, 89, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was born April 3, 1931, to Walter H. and Marie (Barton) Graber.

Curtis graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1949 and Kansas State University in 1960.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Curtis was a farmer/stockman.&nbsp; He was a 60-year member of the Pretty Prairie Booster Club and K-State Alumni Association.&nbsp; Curtis was a member of New Jerusalem Church, Pretty Prairie.

&nbsp;On July 26, 1969, he married Jean Margaret Harris in Meade. She died November 19, 2017, after almost 48 years of marriage.

Curtis is survived by: children, Debbie Adams and Ron Graber (Debbie), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Travis Graber (Jamie) of Haven, Lindsay Runft (Cody) of Scandia, KS, Taylor Graber ( Kevin Crow) of Wichita, and Carly Sanchez (Derek) of Hutchinson; &nbsp;great-grandchildren, Avery, Luke, Hallie, and Lane Graber, Whitley, Rance, and LaRae Runft, and Landon and Riley Sanchez; and sisters-in-law, Bettina “Tina” Graber of Munsing, MI, Sue Harris (Ron Pulsifer) of Kingman; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Alan Graber; and brother, Kenton Graber.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Jane Siebert officiating. Frankie worked as a painter and material procurer for Boeing in Wichita.&nbsp; He was a member of the International Machinists Union.&nbsp; Frankie enjoyed researching genealogy, and pen and ink drawing.&nbsp; Some of his proudest moments were working on Air Force One, Apollo 11, and a number of space artifacts at the Kansas Cosmosphere.&nbsp; Frankie enjoyed watching his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews participate in school activities, especially sporting events.

Frankie is survived by:&nbsp; children, Teresa Lehr (Dan) of Hutchinson, Micheal Bazil (Rhoda), Clifford Bazil, all of Arkansas City, Cheryl Woods of Wichita; brother, John Bazil (Gerry) of Arkansas City; sister, Lillian Bennett of New Caney, TX; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; son, Mark Bazil; twin brother, Francis; brothers, Clarence, Claude, Clyde, George, and Henry; and sisters, Mary Petersen and Ruby Beaty.

Ed ‘Eddie’ Dellinger, 69, of Hutchinson, departed this life to enter into his eternal home in Heaven on February 27, 2021, after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born October 16, 1951, in Hutchinson, the 5th&nbsp;son of Claud and Esther (Timkar) Dellinger.

On May 21, 1981, Ed married Bunny Pierson, in Hutchinson.

Ed served in the United States Army from 1968-1970. He was employed by Buhler MB Church and Jani-king. Ed was a man with a heart of gold who overcame many obstacles in life.

Survivors include: his wife of 40 years, Bunny; in-laws, Gibbo and Georgia Pierson, who loved him as a son; and many nieces and nephews who adore him.

Ed was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Dale, Donald, Jack, and Larry; and infant daughter, Stacie Dellinger.

Memorials are suggested to Project Purple, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Gerald ‘Jerry’ Arlan McInturff, 89, passed away Feb. 20, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 29, 1931, in Hutchinson, to Edward Eugene and Stella (Lewis) McInturff.

Jerry graduated from Hutchinson High School and served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Hutchinson News as a pressman, retiring with over 30 years of service. Jerry was a member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.&nbsp;

He was a golf enthusiast. Jerry enjoyed playing golf and watching golf on television. He could also be found out drowning a worm at his favorite fishing hole.

On July 5, 1953, Jerry married Virginia Lee Kline, at the First United Methodist Church, Dodge City. They shared over 60 years of marriage, prior to her death on April 11, 2014.

He is survived by his children, Brad McInturff of Buhler, Sheri (Kory) Jowers of Hutchinson, and Todd McInturff of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and companion, Judy Hill.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sons, Ronnie McInturff and Kenneth McInturff; and sister, Carol Adamson.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Gary Getting officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson.
