Patricia Lynn Kirkland, 53, of Wichita, died September 17, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. She was born May 29, 1967, in Medicine Lodge, to Bob and Pearl (Lynch) Hignight.

Patricia graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1985, and attended Hesston College. She was a former &nbsp;member of Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

In 1993, Patricia married Scott Kirkland. They later divorced.

She is survived by: mother, Pearl Hignight; son, Justin Kirkland (Ashley); and granddaughter, Addylynn, all of Hutchinson.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Bob Hignight.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements by Elliott Mortuary.

Clyde Raymond Rice, 84, died Sunday, September 13 at Cambridge Place, Marysville, KS. He was born October 23, 1935 in Emporia, KS the son of Clarence and Esther Place Rice. Clyde grew up in Emporia but was a lifetime resident of the Inman area. He was a member of Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church. 

He married Elaine Dorothy Schroeder on September 3, 1966 in Buhler. She died March 25, 1994.

Survivors include six children; Donna Calderon, Anita Myers, Glenn Rice, Bruce Rice, Cheryl Albrecht, Cynthia Rice; a brother, Calvin Rice; and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother; Virgil Rice.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, with the family present, Friday, September 26, 2020 at Inman Funeral Home. Dorothy Moon Beeman died peacefully at home on September 13, 2020, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Denver, she was born on May 5, 1929, to Francis Gordon and Lillian Moon. She graduated from Denver East High School, Colorado Women’s College and the University of Denver, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. After college, she was a teacher at the Wallace School (subsequently known as the Wallace Village for Children), which provided innovative treatment and rehabilitation to children with brain injuries and other disabilities.

In September, 1960, she married Robert C. Beeman and together they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 10, three days before her passing. She was also a long-time member of Chapter CN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.&nbsp;

She is survived by her husband, Bob, her daughter Missy Fagerstrom and Missy’s husband Brian (all of Denver), and by her son Chuck and granddaughter Julia Wiese Beeman, and Chuck’s companion Margarita G. Pérez (all of Miami, Florida).

Dorothy will be interred in a private ceremony at St. John’s Cathedral in Denver. Garland Virgil Longhofer, 94, of Hutchinson, died September 14, 2020, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born March 16, 1926, to S.E. and Goldia (Smith) Longhofer.

Garland was a 1944 graduate of Dickinson County Community High School, Chapman, KS. He was in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946, and served in Okinawa and the Occupation of Japan. Garland received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and Masters of Education degree from the University of Kansas. He was a teacher and counselor in Ellis, Burlington, Osawatomie, and 26 years at Hutchinson High School. Garland was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, since 1960.

On August 22, 1948, Garland married Martha Josephine ‘Jo’ Easter, in Abilene. They shared almost 64 years of marriage, prior to her death on July 31, 2012.

He is survived by his children, Tom (Cindy) Longhofer of Wichita, Jane (Charles) Briscoe of Marrero, LA, and Becky (Dave) Grant of Derby; grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Laurie, Scott, Jeffrey, Kyle, Kimberly, Katie, and Christopher; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jeffrey Todd Mundhenke, 51, of Hutchinson, passed away September 8, 2020, at his home. He was born on February 3, 1969, in Wichita.

&nbsp;The beloved son of Gary and Sherry Mundhenke, he wrestled and played football while attending Hutchinson High School. Jeff then graduated from Pittsburg State University, where he was starting tackle on the 1991 National Championship football team. He was a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. Among many recreational pursuits he loved biking, disc golf, and volunteering at the Hutchinson Animal Shelter. However, nothing was as important to Jeff as family.

On November 25, 1995, Jeff married the love of his life, Christy Jo Smith. She survives as do their three children, Ciara of Elgin, Illinois, Derek of Kansas City, Missouri, and Veronika of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Sherry Mundhenke of Hutchinson; sister, Sarah Waggoner (John) of Burrton; sister-in-law, Wendy Furbeck (Darren) of Dearborn, Missouri; three nieces; two nephews; a great niece and nephew; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; Gary Mundhenke; his in-laws, Teddy Smith and Warren Smith; two brothers-in-law, Larry Smith and Eric Sierck; one aunt; and one uncle.

Jeff was the proverbial “gentle giant”. A big man, but he had an even bigger heart! Jeff never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t met before. He was passionate about the fair treatment of people and of animals; stories of his animal rescues are myriad. His was a kind a loving soul that will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2020, at Lakeside Event Center, 116 N. Plum, Inman. Everyone is welcome to stay for a meal following the service. Marie Hawkins, 90, died September 13, 2020, surrounded by her family at her son’s home in Hutchinson. She was born April 4, 1930, in Coyle, OK, to Tolbert Whitfield and Cora Elizabeth (Downey) Allison.&nbsp;

Marie graduated from high school in 1948 and junior college in 1950. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed collecting dolls. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

On June 16, 1950, she married James ‘Jim’ Hawkins in Hutchinson. He died September 29, 2016. Marie and Jim were inseparable, and shared 66 years of marriage, prior to his death.

Marie is survived by children, Diane Ehling and Douglas Hawkins (Valerie); son-in-law, Christopher Britton, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Andrew Ehling (Jodi) of Las Vegas, NM, Zane Ehling (Jenni) of Garden Plain, and Abby Ehling (Francisco Florencio) of Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Cora, Morris, George, and Archie, Brecklynn, Sawyer, and Alice; and sister, Mae Smith of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by son, Steven Hawkins; grandson, Lucas Ehling; and eight brothers and sisters.

Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Ann Robbins, age 80, of Hutchinson, peacefully passed from this life on September 10, 2020. She was a restaurateur prior to her retirement.&nbsp; Roberta enjoyed boating, watching baseball, auto racing, and collecting stuffed animals. She and her husband, Wayne, were members of Zion Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

Roberta was born March 4, 1940, in Denver, CO, to Robert and Dorothy (Shelton) Williams.&nbsp; She lived some of her adolescent years in Puerto Rico, before relocating to Kansas City, where she graduated from Shawnee Mission High School. As an adult, Roberta worked as a waitress, secretary, data entry clerk, and restaurateur.

She relocated to Hutchinson to marry Eldon ‘Woody’ Wood, who preceded her in death. Roberta married Wayne Robbins, who survives, in 1983, with whom she was happily married.

Roberta is survived by husband, Wayne Robbins of Hutchinson; sons, Ron (Christina Ivers) Scrogham of Irving, Texas, and Michael (Cindy) Scrogham of Virginia; sisters, Connie (Roy) Adelman of Arizona, and Michelle Balfre of Oregon; stepchildren, Larry Robbins and Kathy Stowell, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Austin Robbins of Hutchinson, Anne Divine of Colorado, Marie Divine of Virginia, Tiffany (Carl) Jones, Angel (Justin) Pennington, Cody Scrogham and LeAnn Scrogham, both of Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Addyson Jones, Blake Jones, Miley Pennington, and Bri Scrogham, all of Virginia.

William Elroy ‘Bill’ Briggs, 79, of Hutchinson, died September 13, 2020, at his home. He was born September 8, 1941, in Hutchinson to Verner and Ethel (Hester) Briggs.&nbsp; As the Lord blessed him with great Light in his life, it was only befitting that Will passed on a bright sunny afternoon and on a Sunday, the Lord’s Day. Will’s greatest joys were his salvation and the family with which God had blessed him. On the final days of his life, Will was surrounded by all of these loved ones, before God called him home.&nbsp;

Will graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1959. He joined the United States Air Force and served his country for 21 years. His many talents were put to great use during his service in roles such as a career advisor, a personnel technician, and an aerospace photographic systems technician. On November 26th, 1965, Will married Cheryl Ruth Martin Wenzel in Hutchinson. Together, they shared a wonderful marriage of 54 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing the guitar, games, fishing, and treasure hunting. As a member of the Westside Baptist Church of Hutchinson, he also enjoyed studying scripture. He was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68. More than anything, Will loved spending time with family.

He is survived by wife, Cheryl Briggs, Hutchinson; sons, Tod Briggs (fiancé, Nonnie), Jeremy Briggs (wife, Tiffany), both of San Antonio, TX; and Michael Briggs, of the home; sisters, Bernice Reed, South Hutchinson, and Colleen (Charles) Nichols, De Soto; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Will was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Scott and Jeff Briggs; brother, Lester Briggs; and sister, Patricia Brawner.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Eldon Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Elliott Mortuary.

He was born September 8, 1941, in Hutchinson to Verner and Ethel (Hester) Briggs.&nbsp; As the Lord blessed him with great Light in his life, it was only befitting that Will passed on a bright sunny afternoon and on a Sunday, the Lord’s Day. Will’s greatest joys were his salvation and the family with which God had blessed him. On the final days of his life, Will was surrounded by all of these loved ones, before God called him home.&nbsp;Will graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1959. He joined the United States Air Force and served his country for 21 years. His many talents were put to great use during his service in roles such as a career advisor, a personnel technician, and an aerospace photographic systems technician. Garrett Jones, 29, of Hutchinson, died September 7, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 11, 1991, in Moses Lake, Washington, to Shawn and Christi (Chadwell) Jones.

Garrett graduated from McGavock High School, Tennessee, in 2009. Following high school, he joined the Kansas Army National Guard, serving overseas twice. His time in the military gave him a passion for mental health and suicide prevention for veterans. Garrett was a corrections officer at Hutchinson Correctional Facility, where he served on SORT and SST. He loved gaming, fishing, guns, and his dog, Rocco. Garrett also enjoyed working out and spent much of his time at the gym. More than anything, he loved his family and spending time with them.

Barbara J. Davis, 69, died on September 11, 2020 Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS. She was born October 9, 1950 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Eugene Bertrand and Elizabeth Jane (Kempf) Slama.

Barbara attended Hutchinson High School, graduating in 1969. On April 21, 1984 she married Paul Davis in Hutchinson. Barbara was a PBX operator at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and for many years owned her own business, From My Heart to Yours, where she was a dealer for Boyd Bears, Angels and Beanie Babies. She loved to do crafts. She made jewelry, mop dolls, and angels of all kinds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and creating different crafts for them to do together. Barbara was also a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed playing Bunco. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bruce and Dwayne Slama, sister, Susan Axtell and nephew, Curtis T. Axtell.

Josephine Frances Burkey, 86, died on September 11, 2020 at her home in Hutchinson, KS. She was born May 25, 1934 in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Wilma (Potter) Withrow.

On April 30, 1972, Josephine married Stephen Burkey in Wichita. They enjoyed 40 years together before he passed away in 2013. Josephine was a member of the VFW, Women’s Bowling Congress and Hutchinson Bowling Hall of Fame. Josephine loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, especially cookies for her grandchildren and for events that Trinity Catholic Jr &amp; Sr High had. She enjoyed attending Trinity’s school events and watching the children in sports.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve; son, Mitchell (Mickey) Peterson; a brother, Clarence R. Withrow; a sister, Emma Grace Law; and grandson, Dathan Zywicki.

Jim was born to Abraham E. Epp and Sarah T. (Rempel) Epp on October 10, 1941, in York, York County, NE.&nbsp;

He married Sharon Regier in Hutchinson, KS on August 19, 1961. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Sharon survives.

Together they raised three children: Tammy (Sid) Wiens, Karilynn (Dean) Motz, and Jim (Pam) Epp. They enjoyed having seven grandchildren and seven great-grandkids. In addition, Jim is survived by his siblings, Marvin Epp, Lillian Frey, and Harold (Shirley) Epp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karilynn Motz; a grandson, Seth; sister-in-law, Doris Epp; and brother-in-law, Robert Frey.&nbsp;

Jim loved his family well and was grateful, supportive and proud of them. He enjoyed a 41-year career with John Deere as systems analyst and collections manager. In retirement, Jim owned a lawn care business and worked for auto dealerships as a driver.&nbsp;

Jim and Sharon lived in Omaha, NE, Geneseo, IL, Des Moines, IA, and currently in Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp;

Rebecca “Nona Becky” Lynn Clobes, 58, passed away on September 8, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS. She was born February 17, 1962 in Liberal, KS, the daughter of George and Karalee (King) Clobes.

Becky worked much of her career as a Material Handler at Agco, and most recently worked for a short time at Home Depot. In the 1990’s, she owned a pet store in McPherson called Kansas Safari. She attended First Church of the Nazarene.

Becky loved her animals, but not just any animals. Besides the many dogs and cats that she owned throughout her life, she had several pet monkeys, a black bear cub, a bat, a wallaby, and even a pot bellied pig named Arnold.

During the summer months she would spend most of her free time working in the yard and vegetable garden. She loved to grow tomatoes and other vegetables to give away to the family and had recently started to raise bees.

She was a fun, energetic person who could make friends easily. She was an eternal optimist up to the very end. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Most of all she loved her grandchildren. She was always doing wild and crazy things with them because as she used to say “the only rule at Nona’s house is there are no rules.” Ice cream for breakfast? Sure. Mountain Dew just before bed time? Why not.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Becky is survived by her son, Zachary Clobes and his wife Myroslava; a daughter, Nichole Teater and her husband Jeffery; brothers, Donald and Mark Clobes; sisters, Debbie Wilczak and Sherri Goertz; six grandchildren, Acacia, Adelaide Clobes, Madison, Alayna, Brooklyn and William Teater.

Rebecca “Nona Becky” Lynn Clobes | 1962 - 2020 |

Marita J. McBride, 84, formerly of South Hutchinson, died September 5, 2020, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born February 2, 1936, in Moundridge, to Jacob and Mary (Goertzen) Base.

Marita was a 1954 graduate of Buhler High School. She also attended Salt City Business College. Marita was a longtime member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women. Marita, along with her husband, Robert ‘Bob’, were actively involved in the programs of the church, as well as providing the maintenance, repair, and upkeep on the church building, parsonage, and the Kansas State Fair cafeteria. She was a 'domestic engineer' who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and doing craft projects.

On August 20, 1954, she married Robert ‘Bob’ Pierson McBride, in Hutchinson. They shared over 62 years of marriage, prior to his death on September 20, 2016.

Wayne coached football, basketball, and tennis, at Fairfield High School, and was a laborer at Engellend Construction. His passion was playing softball, wherever it took him.

Tim Edward Nachtigal, 64, died September 8, 2020, at Hospice House, with his two sisters by his side. He was born March 17, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Robert and Agnes Darlene (Revel) Nachtigal.

Tim graduated from Hutchinson High School, where he swam on the swim team. For the past 30 years, he had been a quadriplegic. Tim embraced his new way of life, and never felt sorry for the way his life changed. He learned to paint while holding the paint brush in his teeth. Anyone who knew Tim, for the past 30 years, was inspired by his strength, wisdom, and positive outlook on life. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.

Tim is survived by siblings, Rob Nachtigal, Mike Nachtigal, both of Palmetto, FL, Nancy Krause (Steve) of Manhattan, and Kathy Bruntzel of Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward Herman Thode, 82, died September 7, 2020, at his home. He was born December 5, 1937, in Plevna, to Albert D. and Thelma E. (Drake) Thode.

Edward graduated from Nickerson High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1960, spending three of those years in Germany. After his honorable discharge, Edward worked at Packaging Corporation, drove truck for Ark Valley Dairy, and then worked at Cessna-Eaton Corp. for 38 ½ years, retiring in 2000. After retirement, he worked in the Encampment building at the Kansas State Fair and at the NJCAA men’s basketball tournament.

Edward’s hobbies included trains, model airplanes, playing chess, collecting coins, metal-detecting, reading, and watching sports. He had a thirst for history and loved to travel and stop at every museum he saw.

Edward had been a member of First Mennonite Church since 1964.

On June 3, 1962, he married Marlene A. Gehring at Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge. She survives.

Also surviving are: sons, Dr. Jeffery Thode (Denise), Hutchinson, Sgt. Michael Thode (Candace), Wichita; daughter, Angela Haskins (Bruce), Dana Point, CA; grandchildren, Elijah and Christina Thode, Jaden and Jake Haskins; brothers, Larry Thode (Letha), Ralph Thode; sister-in-law, Marie Thode; and stepsister, Jenese Groth.

On July 31, 1949, she married Delmas H. Kling in Wetmore. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage before he passed on April 3, 2009.

Beverly Jean Rowland, 64, passed away on September 6, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family, in Hutchinson, KS. She was born May 4, 1956 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Tittle) Davis Sr.

On December 13, 1975, Beverly married Gerald Heiderscheit Sr. in Dubuque, IA. They later divorced. On May 7, 2005, she married Royce Rowland in Hutchinson. He passed away on October 11, 2008. Beverly worked in sales and later retired in 2016. She was a member of CrossPoint Church and was involved with Ripples from the Well, a non-profit organization that cares for orphans. Her greatest profession was being a grandma, not only to her own grandchildren but to the children in her charity.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Davis Sr.; husband, Royce Rowland and a sister, Merietta Flynn.

Brandon Isaac Garcia was born on July 6, 1994, to Jimmy and Kathleen Garcia. He passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2020.

Brandon graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2015. He later attended Hutchinson Community College where he received his Associates Degree in General Studies. He had a special relationship with each of his family members; he enjoyed life, and he had a pure genuine heart for Jesus. Brandon had a love for music and art work. He was a singer, song writer and guitarist and he enjoyed drawing.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Kathleen Garcia; siblings, Cory (Faith) Garcia, Kimberly (Taylor) Nisly, Alex and Ashley Garcia; and girlfriend, Mattie Fink.

 </figure>Brandon Isaac Garcia was born on July 6, 1994, to Jimmy and Kathleen Garcia. He passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2020.Brandon graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2015. He later attended Hutchinson Community College where he received his Associates Degree in General Studies. He had a special relationship with each of his family members; he enjoyed life, and he had a pure genuine heart for Jesus. Brandon had a love for music and art work. He was a singer, song writer and guitarist and he enjoyed drawing.Brandon is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Kathleen Garcia; siblings, Cory (Faith) Garcia, Kimberly (Taylor) Nisly, Alex and Ashley Garcia; and girlfriend, Mattie Fink.A funeral service will be held at Journey Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson. The family will be announcing visitation and service information. Bernice Scott, 90, of Hutchinson, passed away on September 7, 2020. She was born July 4, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Henry and Helen (Richardson) Johnson, Sr.

Bernice graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1948. She married Glen A. Scott from Haven, on September 11, 1948. As a teenager, Bernice worked at the Hutchinson Fox Theatre and as a waitress at the Haley Cafe. She was a homemaker while she raised her three boys. Afterwards, Bernice worked as a Weight Watchers’ recording secretary, Unified School District 309 in the cafeteria, at the Hutchinson Sale Barn, and as a caregiver. She loved to do crochet, puzzles, and was a state champion bowler earlier in life.

Bernice is survived by sons, Glen (Sandy) Scott, Jr., David (Diane) Scott, and John (Gina) Scott; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Johnson; brother, Hank Johnson; and husband, Glen Scott.

Private graveside service, due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Laurel Cemetery, rural Haven, with The Rev. Larry Brock officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020, at Elliott Mortuary.

Jerry Lee Nye, 81, of Buhler, passed away September 7, 2020 in Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born October 26, 1938 in Hutchinson, the son of George and Mildred (Winfree) Nye. He was united in marriage to Kay Painter in 1963. She survives of the home. Cremation is planned with Buhler Mortuary handling arrangements.

William L. Hershberger, 80, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020, at his home in rural Hutchinson. He was born August 30, 1940, in Middlebury, IN, to Levi E. and Lydiann (Miller) Hershberger.

William was a farmer, mechanic, and an avid woodworker. He built his own sawmill and enjoyed making furniture and wooden toys for his grandchildren. William was also an Offender Victim Ministry mentor at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility. He was a member of Center Amish Mennonite Church.

On October 27, 1960, he married Mary Elizabeth Yutzy in Buchanan County, Iowa.&nbsp; They shared almost 60 years of marriage.

William is survived by wife, Mary Elizabeth of rural Hutchinson; children, LeRoy Hershberger, Partridge, KS, RoseAnna Nissley (Mark), of Haven, Miriam Joy Derstine (Mark) of Sanford, NC, David Alan Hershberger (Luann) of Melvern, KS, Regina Kaye Derstine (Trevor) of Culver, OR, Michael Jon Hershberger (Jolene) of Hutchinson, KS, Paul Brian Hershberger (Cynthia), of Partridge, KS, Joseph William Hershberger (Leanna) of Nickerson, KS, &nbsp;and Charity Elizabeth Hershberger of Harrisburg, OR; siblings, Mervin Hershberger (Sarah) of Augusta, WI, Mary Stutzman (Perry) of Delhi, IA, and Viola Lambright of Hazelton, IA; brother-in-law, Roman Raber of Fairbank, IA; 43 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Emma Raber; and great-granddaughter, Molli Beiler.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2020, at Center Amish Mennonite Church, 7611 W. Menno F. Enns, 98, of Inman, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Pleasant View Home. He was born to Henry J. and Agatha (Fehdrau) Enns on March 23, 1922, at the rural Inman farm home where he lived until 2015.

It was love at first sight for Menno when he met a new girl in town, Edith Loeffler, at choir practice in 1940. They were married on November 28, 1943 at Bethel Mennonite Church in Inman, where he was an active lifetime member. They were ranchers, and members of the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Hereford Association, and the Reno County Cattlemen’s Association where he received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Menno was a charter member of the Sandhill Saddle Club and organized the Thomadora 4H club where all three of his children were members.&nbsp; He was a 4H leader, and they hosted horse judging schools for the 4H members at the ranch for 25 years.&nbsp;Menno judged many horse shows throughout Kansas and nearby states, including an international show in Minnesota.

Menno spent much of his life on a horse, checking pastures for himself and neighbors, often called on by friends to help rope a bull or pull a calf. He never charged for that, always willing to help. He was known to bring Edith bouquets of wild flowers after those rides. They never stopped holding hands.

Menno is survived by daughters, Jan (Steve) Spiller and Judy Bryant; daughter-in-law, Judy Enns; grandchildren, Raymond (Rachel) Enns, and Meghann Myers; and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Violet Enns;

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith, his beloved son Roger, his sister Rubena Wiens, and his brother Waldo Enns.
