Curtis LaVerne Graber, 89, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was born April 3, 1931, to Walter H. and Marie (Barton) Graber.

Curtis graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1949 and Kansas State University in 1960.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Curtis was a farmer/stockman.  He was a 60-year member of the Pretty Prairie Booster Club and K-State Alumni Association.  Curtis was a member of New Jerusalem Church, Pretty Prairie.

 On July 26, 1969, he married Jean Margaret Harris in Meade. She died November 19, 2017, after almost 48 years of marriage.

Curtis is survived by: children, Debbie Adams and Ron Graber (Debbie), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Travis Graber (Jamie) of Haven, Lindsay Runft (Cody) of Scandia, KS, Taylor Graber ( Kevin Crow) of Wichita, and Carly Sanchez (Derek) of Hutchinson;  great-grandchildren, Avery, Luke, Hallie, and Lane Graber, Whitley, Rance, and LaRae Runft, and Landon and Riley Sanchez; and sisters-in-law, Bettina “Tina” Graber of Munsing, MI, Sue Harris (Ron Pulsifer) of Kingman; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Alan Graber; and brother, Kenton Graber.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Jane Siebert officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.  A dinner for family and friends will follow the burial at Graber Mercantile in Pretty Prairie.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
