
Mabel Lee Bledsoe, 90, died March 4, 2021. She was born August 30, 1930, in Cedar, MO, to Rexie William and Janie A. (Boak) Spencer.
On August 31, 1948 (the day after Mabel graduated high school), she married Hurlie W. Bledsoe, Jr., in Salem, AR. He died June 28, 2002.
Mabel and Hurlie moved from Independence, MO, to Hutchinson, in 1984. She was a homemaker, and also worked in a bank and as a waitress. Mabel enjoyed reading, cross stitch, embroidering, cooking (especially cookies), and babysitting for her family and friends.
Mabel is survived by: son, Greg of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Anna Lou Marcum and husband Ron; sister-in-law, Sandy Spencer; special niece, Cassandra Bartel and husband Brandon, all of Hutchinson; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Michael and Sheila Lucia of Hutchinson and Mary Lou and Bob Voorheis of MO; and caregiver, Maribeth Mullanix and her dog, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Ola Hook, Opal Wilde, and Helen Plush; and brothers, Everett Spencer, Gene Spencer, and Richard Spencer.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Cindy Dubovich officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
