Betty June Fuqua, 91, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. June was born January 18, 1930 in Gentry, AR, the daughter of Otto and Leva D. (Claud) Nichols.
On March 25, 1949 she married Robert (Dave) Fuqua, to this union they were blessed with four children, Christopher, Robert, Janet and Sharon. Prior to retiring, June had worked as a cashier and bookkeeper at Bob Bottomley Oldsmobile-Cadillac-Datsun dealership in Hutchinson, KS.
June loved watching sports, fashion, loved to shop, but above all else, loved her family, was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, & great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dave, a sister Charlene Bottomley and a brother Sammy Nichols.
June is survived by her children, Christopher Fuqua and wife Patti of Sun City, AZ, Robert Fuqua of Reno, NV, Jan Lesslie and husband Jeff and Sharon Etzler and husband Thom all of Hutchinson; three half-sisters, Kathy Patterson, Laurie Nichols Carrell and Sherri Ewertt; a half-brother, Scott Nichols; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A celebration of June’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to Hospice House of Hutchinson, KS, and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
