Chad Wiechen, 46, passed away September 4, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1974, in Hutchinson, to Bill and Connie (Bethe) Wiechen.

Chad graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1992. He worked as a maintenance/press supervisor for 27 years at American Packaging Corporation, South Hutchinson. Chad was an active participant in Mid America Ford &amp; Shelby Nationals, and loved to drive fast. He was a hard worker, who never quit and fought until the end. Even when Chad had days off, you could still find him at American Packaging Corporation. He was known by his colleagues and family as a ‘tough man with a soft heart’.

On August 13, 2005, he married Melynda Hjerpe in Hutchinson. They shared a love of travel and Ford Mustangs.

Chad is survived by wife, Melynda of Nickerson; children, Jasmyne Wiechen (fiancée, Kelby Brubaker) of South Hutchinson, Kayla Burk, and Kyle Burk of Nickerson; one grandson, Aries Brubaker; mother, Connie Wiechen; brothers, Troy, Tracy, and Tim Krebbs, all of Hutchinson; and his beloved dog, Fizzy Wiechen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wiechen.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Elliott Chapel. Per Chad’s wishes, cremation will follow his service.&nbsp; &nbsp;Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.&nbsp;

Juan Parra, 78, of Hutchinson, died &nbsp;September 3, 2020, at home. He was born July 24, 1942, in San Juanito, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Juan and Esperansa (Heredia) Parra.

Before retirement, he worked in construction and mechanics. Juan loved cars and mechanics, as well as Mexican dancing. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.

In May 1971, Juan married Pabla Estrada, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. They shared 50 years of marriage together.

He is survived by wife, Pabla Parra, Hutchinson; daughters, Irma (Manuel) Andrade, Adela (Ruben) Gomez, Maria (Julio) Martinez, Josefina (Felix) Padilla, Rosy (Alonso) Villagomez, all of Hutchinson, and&nbsp; Anamaria Parra, Mexico; sons, Carlos (Veronica) Estrada, Wichita, Juan R. Parra, Hutchinson, and Jose Luis Parra, Mexico; 30 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Manuela Gonzalez, Mexico; and brother, Francisco Parra, Mexico.

Alice Ilene Ebel, 89, of Hutchinson, died September 2, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Joseph Franklin and Hazel Grace (Stoughton) Powell.

Alice was a 1948 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She was the owner of a cake decorating business. Alice was a member of the Red Hat Society and New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson. She enjoyed bowling and was an accomplished and recognized member of a bowling league.

On April 4, 1948, Alice married Maurice Jerald Ebel, in Hutchinson.&nbsp; They shared over 47 years of marriage, prior to his death on April 19, 1995.

She is survived by her sister, Dodie Cawelti of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter-in-law, Renee Ebel of Colorado; grandchildren, Cacy Ebel, Janel Ebel, Ryan Ebel, and Misha Ebel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice Ebel; sons, Lance Ebel and Mark Ebel; and sister, Ruth Mark.

Cremation has taken place.&nbsp; Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2020, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 E. 25th, Hutchinson, with Rev. Craig Waetke officiating.&nbsp; A reception will follow the memorial service in the church’s Recreation Hall.&nbsp;

John M. Dyck, 94, died Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, KS. He was born July 5, 1926 at rural Hesston, KS, the son of Jacob and Fannie (Yost) Dyck.

He was united in marriage to Alice Peters on September 18, 1949 at Hesston, KS.&nbsp;

He was a member of the Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Hesston, KS.

John was a retired farmer and cattle feeder.

Survivors include his children, Ethelyn (Verle) Nightingale of Fredonia, KS, Dwight (Martha) Dyck of Moundridge, KS, Nelson (Marilyn) Dyck of Leesburg, OH, and Charles (Laura) Dyck of Moundridge, KS; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Ensz of Inman, KS.

Charles Vernon ‘Charlie’ Baker, 88, died September 3, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1932, in Bloomington, KS, to Vernon and Josephine (Runnells) Baker.

Charlie graduated from Elsmore High School in 1950 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He worked for many years as a union pipefitter for Plumbers and&nbsp;Pipefitters Union&nbsp;Local 441. Charlie enjoyed bowling and golfing in his younger years, and always enjoyed socializing with people.

Following his retirement, Charlie lived in Forsyth, MO, for nearly 30 years. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, Forsyth.

On April 20, 1984, Charlie married Ardonna Thomas in Olathe. She died September 23, 2007.

He is survived by: sons, Doug Baker (Kim Howard), Hutchinson, John Baker (Janell Dreiling), David Baker (Susan), all of Salina; stepsons, Randy Thomas, Olathe, Ron Thomas (Pam), Eudora, Brian Thomas, Farmersville, TX; sister, Darlene Schraeder, Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardonna Baker; and former wife, Gaylene Baker.

Edith was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and playing scrabble and dominos with family and friends.

Edith married Harry W. Bontrager on April 20, 1967 near Yoder.&nbsp; He survives of the home.

Survivors include a son, Norman Bontrager (Edith) of Haven, Kansas; daughters, Erma Hostetler (Ron), of Spencer, Wisconsin and Ellen Schrock (Nathan) of Haven; brothers; Leon Yoder (Barbara), South Hutchinson, Kansas.; Sam Yoder (Kay), Breman, Indiana; sisters, Ada Borntrager, Hutchinson, Kansas, Susie Swank, Peabody, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Eldon Estes passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2020, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born January 31, 1947, in Arkansas City, to John and Alberta (Crist) Estes.

Eldon graduated from Arkansas City High School. He worked for 30 years at Midwest Superstore, retiring as their general manager in 2014. Currently, he was the District Manager for the Hutchinson News.&nbsp;

Eldon loved his job at Midwest Superstore as he had the opportunity to work and interact with many individuals. No matter what walks of life they came from, he treated everyone equal, and they were all his friends. Eldon’s passion was helping those less fortunate. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, honesty, integrity, and was respected by all who knew him.&nbsp;

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife, Kim, and playing or watching sports of any kind. Eldon was ‘one of a kind’, and will be greatly missed by family, friends, customers, and acquaintances.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In July 2003, Eldon married Kimberly ‘Kim’ Nash. They enjoyed 17 years together.&nbsp;

Eldon is survived by wife, Kim of Hutchinson: daughter, Kathi Grossenbacher (Jeff), Bern, KS; son, Chad Estes (Hayley), Tulsa, OK; stepdaughter, Lacie Janzen (Matt), Hutchinson; stepson, Travis Nash (Aimee), Austin, TX; adopted son, Joe Estes (Jasmine), Adair, OK; adopted daughter, Gina Estes, Kansas City, KS; sister, Velta Gilmore (Bob), Arkansas City; grandchildren, Andrew, Trevor (Angela), Kristin, Natalie (Darryon), Megan (Colby), Presleigh, Dalton, Jacqueline, Crew, Calleigh, Hattie, Joseph Jr., Jenner, Seattle, Ella, and Daisy; great-grandchildren, Willa and Cameron; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn brother; brothers, Junior, Roger, and Roy; half-brothers, Clark, Jerry; six half-sisters; and a grandson, Hudson.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2020, at Hutchinson Sports Arena, 700 E. 11th&nbsp;Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Chris Powell officiating. Attendees must enter on the west side and masks are required. The family will greet friends following the service outside on the west side of the Sports Arena. He worked for 30 years at Midwest Superstore, retiring as their general manager in 2014. Currently, he was the District Manager for the Hutchinson News.&nbsp;Eldon loved his job at Midwest Superstore as he had the opportunity to work and interact with many individuals. No matter what walks of life they came from, he treated everyone equal, and they were all his friends. Eldon’s passion was helping those less fortunate. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, honesty, integrity, and was respected by all who knew him.&nbsp;In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife, Kim, and playing or watching sports of any kind. Eldon was ‘one of a kind’, and will be greatly missed by family, friends, customers, and acquaintances.&nbsp;&nbsp;In July 2003, Eldon married Kimberly ‘Kim’ Nash. Dorothy Nell Baldauf, 93, of Hutchinson, died August 31, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born September 15, 1926, in Fulton, KS, to Loren and Pearl (Randall) Hill.

Dorothy graduated from Quapaw High School, Quapaw, OK, and Adela Hale Business College, Hutchinson. Along with her husband, Billy, she owned and operated B&amp;B Superette grocery store in Haven for 17 years. Dorothy was the office manager at Pioneer Hybrid Seed and retired after 10 years of service. She was a member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361 Ladies Auxiliary, and longtime member of Haven United Methodist Church.

On May 29, 1946, Dorothy married Billy Neville Baldauf, in Columbus, KS. They shared over 73 years of marriage, prior to his death on November 19, 2019.

She is survived by her children, Kay (Steven) Neill of Emporia, Robert (Mary) Baldauf of Wichita, H. Gregg (Karen) Baldauf of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy N. Baldauf; and sisters, Agnes Young and Kathryn Keating.

Hershel “Dwight” Payne, 75, passed away on August 30, 2020 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born May 18, 1945, in Summit, AR, the son of Hershel and Muriel (Plumlee) Payne.

Dwight joined the United States Marine Corps was honorably discharged on April 3, 1974. He worked for Cessna-Eaton where he was a machinist and retired after 42 years. On May 8, 1997, Dwight married Shirley Jenks in Hutchinson. Dwight enjoyed bow hunting and competed in competition shooting. He also loved rebuilding old cars and watching Westerns with his Pomeranian, Coco.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dean Payne and four sisters, Jean Wallace, Erma Joe Smith, Lucille Johnson and Nina Hodges. 

Dwight is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; a son, Darrin (Dorothy) Payne; daughters, Deborah (Sonny) Benbrook, Rina Borecky, and Susan Heath; sisters, Barbara K. (H.L.) Boyles, Jewels (Bob) Sons and Anita (Ron) Hite; a brother, Larry (Vicky) Payne; grandchildren, Kylie Rush, Amy Nulf, Bryce Terry, Bill Armbruster and Christopher Armbruster; and numerous great grandchildren.

Dona Rimbey, 94, died August 31, 2020 at Stormont Vail in Topeka. She was born in Rigby, Idaho on April 18, 1926 to Eather and Eva (Thomas) Anderson.&nbsp;

She married Clarence Rimbey on October 26, 1944 and was a farmer’s wife for 50 years before he died in 1995. Dona was a Burrton resident for 38 years before moving to Manhattan, living previously at Council Grove for 16 years and Eskridge for five years. She worked as a nurse’s aide for more than ten years at Halstead Hospital before retiring.

Survivors include her son, Gary and wife Chris of Burrton; daughters, Joyce McDiffett of Manhattan, and Sharron Perkins and husband Mark of Topeka; brother, Dwain Anderson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; eleven grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Dona was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; one sister; a grandson; and son-in-law.

Wilma graduated from Harlem High School in 1940. She worked for Countryside Lanes, in Hutchinson, at the food counter. Wilma loved to read and bowl in her younger days. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On September 14, 1941, she married Marion Olin Maynard in Beloit. They shared 38 years together before his death on January 20, 1980.

Wilma is survived by sons, Richard (Laurie) Maynard, Houston, TX, Bruce Maynard, Roseville, CA; daughters, Marilyn (Doug) Booth, Beattie, Patti Beach, Lawrence, Janice (Tom) Cowan, McPherson, Debra (Mike) Henning, Hutchinson, Kris (Mike) Wilson, Hutchinson, Kathleen (Steve) Rodriguez, Hutchinson, and Cinda (Mohammed) Younis, Houston, TX; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

He was born January 4, 1937, in Amherst, TX, to Charley and Mary Ann (Tisdale) Shipley.&nbsp; Roger graduated in 1955 from Hereford High School in Hereford, TX and attended Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX.&nbsp; On September 19, 1974, he married Sawana (Keas) Pierce, in Hereford, TX where he was a bookkeeper for Suit's Auto Supply.&nbsp;&nbsp; He later was a bookkeeper for Caviness Packing Co.&nbsp; In 1978 he and his family moved to Hutchinson, KS where he was Sanitation Supervisor at Betts Bakery (Rainbow Bakery) until he retired in 1993.&nbsp; Later Roger worked for Buhler USD 313 in Maintenance.&nbsp; Roger was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson.

Roger is survived by:&nbsp; his wife of almost 46 years, Sawana; son, Jason Shipley (Cecelia); grandsons, Tristan and Harrison Shipley; sister-in-law, Verline Shipley; brothers-in law, Jimmie Keas (Janet) and Timothy Keas (Wynne); and sister-in-law, Minyon Rusher.&nbsp;

Dr. Carolyn Kay Moorman, 82, died August 26, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. She was born November 25, 1937, in Abilene, KS, to Kelley J. and LaDica Faye (Mitchell) Malson.

Carolyn graduated from Hutchinson High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Marymount College, Salina. She earned her master’s and PhD degrees in education from Kansas State University. Carolyn spent her career educating students of all ages.

She was a member of the Pilot Club and Lions Club of Manhattan, Preceptor Zeta&nbsp;Chapter of&nbsp;Beta&nbsp;Sigma Phi, and was past-president of KNEA. Carolyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Manhattan, where she was an ordained Elder and Deacon.

On June 3, 1956, she married Fredrick L. Moorman, in Hutchinson. He died September 29, 1988.

Carolyn is survived by: son, Kent Moorman (Cindy), Thornton, CO; daughters, Diana Moorman, Topeka, Rose Walker (Wayne), Onaga; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, LaDonna Bailey (Bud), Neodesha, Pam Church, Portland, OR; brother, Jim Dixson, Manhattan; brother-in-law, Bruce Moorman (Tauni), Overland Park; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Kelley Malson; mother, LaDica Faye Dixson; and husband, Fred.

Floyd C. Dodds, age 92, passed away on August 25, 2020 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Abilene, Kansas on February 19, 1928 to his parents Rev. Clemit and Inez Dodds. During his growing up years, he attended schools in several places, but he spent his last two years at Haven High School and graduated there in 1947. He married Mary Stalcup in 1948 who passed away in 1994. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and served four years there until 1955.

Music was always a big part of Floyd’s life. He was a member of the Hutchinson Salt Miners Chorus for twelve years and sang in a barbershop quartet for two years. He sang in a gospel trio called, “Good News” for two years and also a gospel quartet called, “Glad Tidings” for three years.

He joined the Haven Baptist Church in 1955 and remained active there for sixty years, where he served as Church Deacon for most of those years. His other ministries at the church included teaching the junior boys Sunday School class, Sunday School superintendent, Church treasurer, as well as doing custodial work. His musical talent was used for most of these years as church choir director as well as being a soloist.

He married Gladys Stewart in 1995 and is survived by his wife. Other survivors are his two daughters, Linda (Martin) Morgan of Hutchinson, and Peggy Morgan of Wichita. His grandchildren are Jeremy (Linda) Morgan, Emily (Todd) Vesper, Rachel (Jon) Sawhook, Wesley (Miranda) Morgan and Audrey (Chris) Green. He has two step-children, Jon R. Stewart of Derby, and Sandra Stewart of Gardner and three step-grandchildren, Kellen (Ashley) Stewart, Micah (Mary) Reece, and Jeremiah Reece. There are 18 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Lois Foust, Opal Clark and Vera Koontz.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Union Valley Bible Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson and Pastor Dean Flanner officiating. Clarence Riedel, 92, passed away on August 25, 2020 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born May 15, 1928, in Hays, KS, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Zimmerman) Riedel.

Clarence graduated from Lyons High School. After high school, on March 26, 1946, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served overseas on the USS Alabama and General Anderson in the South Pacific. He was later honorably discharged on December 12, 1947. He was an electrician for Kansas Power and Light where he was an Outside District Manager for 42 years covering the towns of Redwing, Odin, Claflin, Bushton and Geneseo. On September 5, 1949, Clarence married Avis Miller at St. Paul Catholic Church in Lyons. She passed away in 2011. Clarence was a member of American Legion #68, IBEW #304 for over 70years, Knights of Columbus, City Commissions in Claflin for 16 years, life member of VFW post # 1361 and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Avis; and sons, Kevin Riedel and Michael Wayne Riedel.

Clarence is survived by his son Alan Riedel.

Patricia Haskard Holmstrom, 81, of Lawrence, KS, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Brandon Woods Alvamar, in Lawrence. She was born May 9, 1939 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Herbert E. and Ruth (Miller) Haskard.

Patricia graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957. She attended Wichita State University and Baker University. Patricia married Vernon Hinkle Jr. in July 1961. After Vernon passed away, she later married Jim Holmstrom in April 1997. He also, precedes her in death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Vernon Hinkle Jr. and Jim Holmstrom.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Matt) McCoy and Kathy (Ted) Stevens; a sister, Judy Schrater; granddaughter, Alessandra (Dennis) Fakelman; grandsons, Jonathon “Miles” (Mackenzie) Stevens and Wyatt DeWein Stevens; one niece and one nephew; and her best friend Karen Eisminger Every.

Loren R. McConnell, 79, of Hutchinson, lover of cold beer and instigator of trouble, passed away quietly at his humble estate on August 25, 2020. He was born January 25, 1941, in Hutchinson, to Harold E. and Helen A. McConnell.

Loren was one of eight children of the notorious ‘McConnell’ clan. He grew up in a one bedroom home that instilled his combative, but comical nature. Loren was rebellious and ornery.&nbsp;

On the glorious day of December 7, 1962, he married Barbara Jeanne Field, in Grand Island, NE. They shared over 57 years of marriage.&nbsp; Although she brought grace and stability to his chaotic and crazy life, Loren’s enormous personality and humorous character remained intact.&nbsp; Names to describe him were as follows, but not limited to (as they cannot be printed):&nbsp; husband, father, son, grandpa, brother, uncle, hero, favorite, friend, ‘Lorney’, and ‘Pops’.&nbsp; Loren loved to travel. He spent numerous years on the road as a truck driver, and traveled extensively with family and friends. Loren enjoyed dancing, socializing, a good video poker game, and loved dogs. He will be sorely missed by all!

Neil Allen Hale, 65, of Haven passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 in at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 20, 1955 in Hutchinson, the son of Nathan and Wanda Hale.

Throughout his life, he worked at Mid-America Redi-mix, Haven Steel, Cessna and Alcoa. He was an avid deer hunter, always in search of the big one. Allen loved watching KU basketball and was a loud and proud Raiders fan. He played softball his whole life even when his knees begged him not to. He never lost at trivia games and wished the same would have held true for the slot machines he played. He is best known for saying “do like I say, not like I do!”

Allen is survived by his daughters, Amy Hale of Indiana, Katie (Josh) Felix of Hutchinson and Crystal (Tyson) Kohls of Buhler; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Gavin, Kya and Tucker; sisters, Sue Rettig and Nancy Schroeder of Haven. He had a blast being “Uncle Al” to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Wayne Rettig and niece, Shawna Rettig.

 </figure>Neil Allen Hale, 65, of Haven passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 in at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 20, 1955 in Hutchinson, the son of Nathan and Wanda Hale.Throughout his life, he worked at Mid-America Redi-mix, Haven Steel, Cessna and Alcoa. He was an avid deer hunter, always in search of the big one. Allen loved watching KU basketball and was a loud and proud Raiders fan. He played softball his whole life even when his knees begged him not to. He never lost at trivia games and wished the same would have held true for the slot machines he played. He is best known for saying “do like I say, not like I do!”Allen is survived by his daughters, Amy Hale of Indiana, Katie (Josh) Felix of Hutchinson and Crystal (Tyson) Kohls of Buhler; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Gavin, Kya and Tucker; sisters, Sue Rettig and Nancy Schroeder of Haven. He had a blast being “Uncle Al” to numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Wayne Rettig and niece, Shawna Rettig.Cremation has taken place. Gerald (Jerry) Stucky, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Mennonite Manor Retirement Home in South Hutchinson. He was September 5, 1931, Newton, KS, the son of Floyd and Ruth (Kaegi) Stucky and grew up in Moundridge, KS.

On July 22, 1951, Gerald was united in marriage with Roberta (his wife what’s her name) Robinson, in Hutchinson. Jerry was a veteran of the Korean War. Besides being a remarkable father to three girls (which he claimed caused the loss of his hair) he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Hutchinson and Inman, retiring as the Inman Postmaster. Upon retiring the City of Inman declared “Jerry Stucky Day” by shutting down the city to celebrate his service to the community. As a food vendor at the Kansas State Fair for over forty years, he was known by many in the Pronto Pub business as he was the J in D&amp;amp;J Pronto Pup. Jerry volunteered for many years in PTA, Reno County Elections and on the Board of Hutchinson Postal Credit Union. Jerry enjoyed bringing joy to many children as he played the role of Santa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Byron.

Jerry is survived by his three daughters, Patsy (Tony) Mourn, Shari (Richard) Westphal and Ruth (Bob) Powell; brother Keith Stucky of California; sister, Lois (Walt) Waechter of Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, Angie Elliott, Shawna Lindsey, Justin Mourn, Tonya Good, Nick Mourn, Alisha Johnson, Jennifer Mabry, Zachary Gagnebin, Katie Bechtle, Julie Westphal, Jodi Mirabal, Ryan Rank, Sara Mae, Sondra Powell, Bethany Plush, Destiny Powell and Journey Powell; 33 great grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital or South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.

Mrs. Francisca Omoniyi Ferreira passed away at Diversicare Nursing Facility in Hutchinson, KS on August 19, 2020 of natural causes. She was 89 years old. Francisca was born in Lagos, Nigeria on October 28, 1930 to the parents of Chief and Mrs. Alfred Olaribigbe Oshodi. She was the youngest of eight siblings.

In 1951 Francisca met, fell in love, and married Adekunle Alfred Ferreira. They remained together for 27 years until his untimely death in 1978. To this union one child was born, Obafemi.

At an early age Francisca devoted her life to Christ. She remained a member of Igbala Otito Church in Lagos, Nigeria. She served faithfully in the Women’s Mission where they did outreach in the community trying to bring the loss to the full knowledge of Christ. For many years she served as Financial Secretary of her church until she relocated to the United States. 

She opened a successful catering business in Lagos where she was able to be of service to others. She loved people and people loved her.

Francisca’s hobbies included sewing garments, watching movies, cooking her native foods, and traveling to the city of Ibadan to visit family. She also found joy in flying to several European countries where family and friends welcomed her. One of her greatest joys was sitting in her quiet place reading her Bible every day.

She lived a long and fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and believer in Christ. She will be greatly missed for her sense of humor as well as her concern for others. Mrs. Ferreira’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with.

Mrs. Francisca Ferreira is survived by her son, Dr. Femi Ferreira (Dollie) of McDonough, Georgia; two grandsons, Adekunle Ferreira of Kansas City, Missouri and Ayodeji Ferreira of Houston, Texas. She is further survived by a stepdaughter, Sheyi Ferreira, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends in Nigeria and throughout the United States and England.

Francisca was preceded in death by her parents Chief and Mrs. Alfred Olaribigbe Oshodi, loving and devoted husband, Adekunle Alfred Ferreira, and seven siblings.

Services will take place at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be the morning preceding the service only. Rev. William J. Green Sr. of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church is presiding.

Robert K. “Bob” Krehbiel, age 80, of Buhler, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Hospice House of Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born March 2, 1940, in McPherson, Kansas, the son of Arthur “Art” V. and Linda (Gehring) Krehbiel.

Bob graduated from McPherson High School and attended Kansas State University. He was the Kansas State FFA President in 1957 and was the top livestock judge at the American Royal. He served in the United States Army from February 7, 1960 to February 12, 1962 and also served in the Kansas National Guard. Bob was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church and The American Legion.

Bob married Judith “Judy” Tolar July 6, 1958 at McPherson, Kansas. She passed away March 11, 1997. He later married Peggy Jo Rosebrook July 16, 1999 at Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives of their home.
