Patricia "Pat" Ann Wheeler, 76, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas.

Pat was born in Cherokee, Oklahoma on January 21, 1947, the daughter of Leon LaVerne and June (Martin) Forbes.

Pat attended many schools and graduated from Westerville High School Westerville, Ohio in 1965. She then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, Oklahoma where she received her Bachelors degree. After graduating from Northwestern Pat attended Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas where she graduated with her Masters Degree.

She was a member of First Christian Church (DOC) in McPherson. She held many roles within the church throughout the years.

Patricia Ann Forbes was united in marriage to Stephen A. Wheeler on June 21, 1968 in Cherokee, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with the birth of two children, Amy and Dustin.

Through the years Pat worked as a Health Science and Physical Education teacher for Cherryvale School District and for the McPherson School District USD 418 until she retired. Pat enjoyed teaching, Bell Choir and church choir, concerts, golfing, scrapbooking, putt-putt golf, softball, water-skiing, and her favorite holiday was Christmas and loved doing things for others.

She is survived by her husband, Steve of McPherson; daughter, Amy (Travis) Rausch of McPherson; son, Dustin (Amy Fryberger) Wheeler of Ellinwood, Kansas; grandchildren, Colton Rausch and Aly Jo Rausch; brother, Ron (Sherry) Forbes of Thousand Oaks, California.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the First Christian Church, McPherson, Kansas

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church,McPherson, Kansas with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.

Burial will be at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery, Cherokee, Oklahoma.
