Staci L. Eikleberry, 47, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in Haven, KS. She was born April 6, 1976, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Ralph and Dixie (Groves) Oden.

Staci is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Oden.

Staci enjoyed going to go play bingo, doing diamond art with her mom and grandson, Grayson and playing coin master on her phone. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She loved being a nana and spending time with her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, nana, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her mother, Dixie Oden; two children, Austin (Miranda) Eikleberry and Nicole Tubbs; one sister, Shelley Weishaar; four grandchildren, Grayson and Audrey Tubbs and MaKenna and Kynzlee Eikleberry, one nephew, Alex Weishaar and extended family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. Mary Lou (Marlin) Holt |1937-2023|

Larry Eugene Potter was born April 5, 1938, at home in Clarinda, Iowa, in the middle of a spring blizzard. He was the eldest of four children born to Samuel G. and Inez M. (Carson) Potter. He attended Clarinda schools until the family moved to Denver, CO, where he graduated from high school in 1956. However, he always considered himself an Iowan first, and specifically a Clarindan. He kept up with his former high school classmates and attended several reunions.

Larry was raised in the Free Methodist church, his grandfather J.L. Potter being a minister in that denomination. Larry cherished his Christian heritage and trusted Christ as his savior at a young age.

After high school, Larry came to McPherson, KS to attend Central College, now Central Christian College of Kansas. While a student there, he met Judith Wiggins who would later become his wife. They married on June 19, 1959, and after both had graduated from Central, the couple moved to Denver where Larry worked with his father, a painting contractor. However, after their first child was born, Larry and Judy decided Denver wasn’t where they wanted to raise their family, so they moved back to McPherson in 1962. He and Judy were the parents of four children: Susan, Sarah, Bradley, and Eric. Larry worked diligently to provide for his family and was especially proud of the home he and Judy built which had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge yard and garden, and a field out back where the kids and grandkids played. It was always very important to him to have a good place for his family.

In addition to contract painting and wallpapering, which he did most of his life in conjunction with other jobs, Larry owned his own carpet cleaning business as a young man and was a supervisor at Johns-Manville for many years. He retired from all employment in 2005. He was a dedicated and dependable employee and believed in doing a job well. Many houses and businesses in McPherson and the surrounding area benefitted from his careful work, and he really enjoyed getting to know his customers. He passed on his work ethic and sense of responsibility to his children.

Larry had many interests, enjoyed hunting and doing his own ammunition reloading, had a huge yearly garden providing produce for the family and employing his children in weeding and harvesting. In retirement, Larry continued to garden until age and ill health forced him to stop. However, he always looked forward to going to plant nurseries and loved to go to McPherson Farmer’s Market. He loved to share his interests with others, and his children and grandchildren benefitted from his enthusiasm for gardening in particular. Larry loved to watch sports, especially the McPherson Bullpups, Chiefs, and Royals. He was fascinated by airplanes and took flying lessons as a young man. Larry also enjoyed narrow gauge railroad, taking several trips on the Durango and Silverton line. He loved visiting Colorado and would take the family on a camping vacation every summer. As well, Larry loved to sing and participated for several years in the McPherson Barbershop Chorus, singing the baritone part in their quartet the Mac Foursome, and later participated in the McPherson Chorale. He was for many years a faithful member of the choir at the McPherson Free Methodist Church, where he also taught Sunday School, served on various committees, and did a lot of volunteer painting and other building upkeep.&nbsp;

Larry especially loved being a grandfather and enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their scholastic and extracurricular endeavors. In recent years, he and Judy were blessed by the addition of several great-grandchildren to the family.&nbsp;

Larry Eugene Potter passed into life eternal on September 30, 2023, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, KS at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife, Judith, sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Jerry Land, brothers Richard and Paul Potter, grandson Christopher Shepard, and nephew Wesley Black. He is survived by brother-in-law Charles Wiggins (Norane) of Springer, NM; his children Susan Shepard (David) of McPherson, KS, Sarah Voth (Joel) of Wenatchee, WA, Bradley Potter (Lisa) of Omaha, NE, and Eric Potter (Amanda) of McPherson; grandchildren Adam Shepard (Emily), Dylan Shepard, Michael Voth (Margaret), Brian Voth (Christina), Katie Grinde (Seth), Gregory Voth, Andrew Potter (Bailey), Lucas Potter (Laura), Benjamin Potter, Jacob Hughes (River), Brooklyn Hughes, Tessa Potter, Emma George, Alyvia George, Kason George, and Adryn Potter, great-grandchildren Adeline, Charlotte, and Evangeline Shepard with one more expected soon, Isaac, Aaron, Levi, Sophia and Michael Nectarios Voth, Celia-Rose and Ira Potter, and Jax Potter. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends.

Charles “Charlie” E. Shults, Sr.,&nbsp; 76, of Chanute, KS and formerly of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, surrounded by his family at the Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.&nbsp;

Charlie was born on January 12, 1947, in Iola, KS, the son of William Harold and Alean Katherine (Slife) Shults.&nbsp; He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1965.&nbsp; He was a United States Marine, serving from 1965 until 1968.&nbsp; He served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967.&nbsp; Charlie was united in marriage to Katherine Lynne Snell on October 11, 1965, in Iola, KS.&nbsp;

He was the former plant manager for KIT Road Ranger, McPherson and for NuWay Industries, Chanute for 40 years, retiring in 2020.

Charlie was an avid fisherman and camper.&nbsp; He loved to take all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren with him.&nbsp; Dad was the most soft-spoken man, but not to fool you, he had a funny way of pointing out the humor in every situation.&nbsp; Dad was the kindest, gentlest man with a great sense of fairness.

Dad always had a big bear hug and an “I Love You” whenever leaving.&nbsp; He will be greatly missed.&nbsp; Rest in peace, Love you Dad!

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Katherine “Kathy” Shults; children, Alicia &amp; Ronnie Huff, Chuck &amp; Kay Shults, and Kim &amp; Darren Almquist; grandchildren, Steven &amp; Sam Rice, Nick &amp; Hillary Rice, Josh Rice, Kacie &amp; Justin Nading, Staci &amp; Conrad Neiman, Andrew Almquist, and Tara &amp; Ryan Gawanda; great-grandchildren, Amanda Nading, Ariana Nading, Alaina Nading, Ava Nading, Eleanor Neiman, Owen Neiman, Skyler Almquist, and Talya Williams; brother, Ralph &amp; Mary Ann Shults; and sisters, Darlean Totman, Mary K. Willis M. Koehn, 95, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Moundridge Manor. He was born February 2, 1928 in Montezuma, Kansas, the son of Fred P. and Sarah (Smith) Koehn.

Willis was a member of the Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Hesston.

He was united in marriage to Arlene P. Giesel on March 25, 1951 at Greensburg, Kansas. She survives of the home after over 72 years of marriage.

Willis worked in housing construction and was a dairy farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene of the home; daughters, Charmaine (Alvin) Wedel of Fulton, Kentucky, and Shana Walker of Columbus, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, JoAnn Nightengale of Century, Florida, Helen Unruh of Montezuma, and June (Ken) Schoonover of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a brother-in-law, LaVern Schmidt of Montezuma.

Willis was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Anthony Koehn; one brother; and eight sisters.

Willis M. Koehn |1928-2023|

Ronald J. Sommerfeld, 81, of Canton, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at The Cedars, McPherson.&nbsp; He was a tool &amp; die machinist for 28 years at CertainTeed Plastics and also worked at &nbsp;Kansas Jack for 12 years.&nbsp; After retirement, he worked on a part-time basis at Viega.

Ron was born on April 27, 1942, in Goessel, KS, the son of Lester Ralph and Kathrina (Janzen) Sommerfeld.&nbsp; He served in the United States Army and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. &nbsp;&nbsp;

He attended and served at the First Baptist Church in Canton as deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, sound technician, and also helped with maintenance, mowing, and snow removal.

Ron had a love for cats, cars, and Cub Cadet tractors.&nbsp; He belonged to the Hutchinson Corvette Club.&nbsp; Ron truly loved his family and always looked forward to getting together with them.&nbsp; He especially enjoyed interacting with his great-nephews and watching them play.

Survivors include: sister-in-law, Kathy Sommerfeld of Lindsborg, KS; nieces &amp; nephews, David (Connie) Sommerfeld of Assaria, KS, Mark Sommerfeld of Brookville, KS, Lisa (Kevin) Schmidt of Olathe, KS, and Lori (Jeff) Tector of Galva, KS; and many great-nieces &amp; great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Sommerfeld, and a sister, Melvia Eberle.

Melinda L. “Mindy” Wills, 69, died September 29, 2023, at The Arbors at Waldron Place, Hutchinson. &nbsp;She was born July 22, 1954, in Arkansas City, to Don and Lawana (Wisdom) Thompson.

Mindy graduated from El Dorado High School in 1972, received her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, and her master’s degree from Wichita State University. She taught third grade over 30 years, mostly for Buhler Unified School District 313. &nbsp;Mindy enjoyed reading and watching the K-State Wildcats. &nbsp;Most of all, she loved and adored her five grandchildren, and spending time with family. &nbsp;Mindy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On August 9, 1975, she married Jerry Wills, in El Dorado. &nbsp;

Mindy is survived by: &nbsp;her husband of 48 years, Jerry Wills of Hutchinson; daughter, Angela Flory (Joel) of Halstead; son, Andrew Wills (Elizabeth) of Windom; and her five precious grandchildren, Ashlynn Flory, Mya Flory, Addisen Wills, Jaxin Wills, and Stella Wills.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Roger L. Crabill, 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023 Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. He was born June 8, 1955, in Pratt, KS to Robert L. and Joyce J. (Scarbrough) Crabill.

In 1973, Roger graduated from Pratt High School. On November 15, 1980, Roger married Janet S. Cook in Pratt, KS. He was a bowling lane resurfacing manager for Jayhawk Bowling Supply and Resurfacing for 40 years. Roger enjoyed golfing, bowling and teasing his nieces and nephews. In August 2020, Roger miraculously survived a brain aneurysm. In February 2022, he was diagnosed with lung cancer and courageously fought the disease for a year and a half. He was a member of Crosspoint Church in Hutchinson, Elks Lodge in Pratt, and USBC.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew Christopher Dean McCawley.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; three sisters, Shirley Kimmons, Belinda (Duane) Fischer and Penny (Mal) McCawley; one brother, Bill (Carolyn) McQuiston; brother-in-law, J.C. (Lou Jean) Cook four nieces, Kimberly Phoenix, Katie Janik, Amy McCawley and Shannon Cook; and two nephews, Darin Fischer and Jake Elder; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Arthur Eugene "Art" Porting, 91, of Rifle, Colorado, passed away on September 28, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. &nbsp;He was born on January 30, 1932, in Kansas City, KS. Art was a beloved father, known for his sweet and flirty nature, always with a wink. He had a great sense of humor and was a dedicated fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Kansas Jayhawks.

Art is survived by his two daughters, Terri and Debi, his stepdaughter Linda, their spouses, and his extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren. &nbsp; He was preceded in death by his wife Freeda, his brother Raymond, and both parents, Gus and Goldie.

Art graduated from Hutchinson High School and went on to serve in the Naval Reserves. He pursued a career as an optician, which he dedicated his entire working life to. Many in Hutchinson may remember seeing him selling tickets at the Kansas State Fair.

Outside of work, Art enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including bowling, fishing, and boating. He was a founding member of the Hutchinson Water Sports Club and loved water skiing in his free time. He taught many families how to water ski.

Art spent his final years as a resident in the Grand River Health Care Center where he was loved by all those who took great care of him. He was one of the first residents relocated to the new facility in 2021. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Grand River Health Care Center by sending a check in Art’s memory to GRHCC, 701 E 5th St, Rifle, CO 81750.

A celebration of Art's life will be held in Hutchinson, KS in the summer of 2024, and will be announced at a later date. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Virginia Lee Ewertz, 81, of South Hutchinson, KS, died September 28, 2023, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. She was born August 11, 1942, in Goddard, KS, to Paul H. and Frances E. (Girrens) Robben.

Virginia graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Wichita, KS, in 1961. She worked as an electrical technician at Melles Griot in Carlsbad, CA, for many years. Virginia enjoyed crafting, camping, and playing cards. She was of the Catholic faith.

On February 2, 1963, Virginia married Kenneth M. Ewertz, in Shulte, KS. He died December 10, 2004.

She is survived by: her children, Roxanna Ewertz Krtek (Robert) of San Marcos, CA, Kent Ewertz (Carrie) of Menifee, CA, Nikki K. Hutton (Troy) of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Veronica Madera (Oscar) of Escondido, CA, Samantha Ewertz of Riverside, CA, Matthew Ewertz (Jeani) of Riverside, CA, Emily Krtek of San Marcos, CA, Alex Hutton of Hutchinson, KS; great-grandchildren, Lakai Madera, Adaline Ewertz; siblings, Sheila Guerra (Virgil) of Springdale, AR, Donna Kay Ahne (Mike) of Conway Springs, KS, Paul Robben (Kathy) of Wichita, KS; and many extended family members.

Kenneth Robert “Ken” Kelley, 75, died September 26, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. &nbsp;He was born June 7, 1948, in El Dorado, AR, to Odell and Jean (Turner) Kelley.

Ken graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, NE. &nbsp;He proudly served in the United States Army from 1968-1971, during the Vietnam War. &nbsp;Ken worked in sales for various manufactured housing companies, and was currently working for Champion Homes of York, NE. &nbsp; Work never felt like work to Ken; he looked forward to it each and every day. When he could, Ken played golf and softball. &nbsp;Faith was important to him. &nbsp;Ken was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, where he previously served as a member of the Outreach Commission. &nbsp;Currently, Ken was serving on the Board of Elders. &nbsp;In addition, as member of the Gideons, Ken participated in the Reno County Jail Ministry, where he had a gift for developing special relationships and impacting lives. When his health began to change, Ken’s family deemed him “Kelley Strong”, encouraging him to keep fighting. &nbsp;He was a devoted husband, father, and “Papa” to his 10 amazing grandchildren.&nbsp;

On February 14, 1981, he married MaryAnn Frances Kampschnieder, in Lincoln, NE.

Ken is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of 42 years, MaryAnn of Hutchinson; children, Shannon Morgan (Kevin) and Patrick Kelley (Alison), all of Lincoln, NE, Beth Dandini (Julian) of Kansas City, MO, and Melissa Hinton (Brandon) of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Frankie, Jacob, Mariah, Christopher, Quinn, Mikayla, Hudson, Brody, and Kylie; two great-grandchildren on the way; and siblings, Jan Weinberg (Jon) of Texas and James Kelley of Oklahoma.

Kenneth Robert “Ken” Kelley |1948-2023|

Jeannie, 71, of Hutchinson, KS gained her wings and went to walk with the angels at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center on September 22, 2023.

She was born in Hutchinson, KS on January 24, 1952, to James “Max” and Izetta “Lou” Lavielle, she graduated from Hutchinson High School working as a lifeguard. Jeannie attended Adela Hale Business Career School and obtained her certificate for Administrative Assistant. Jeannie worked at Cessna/Eaton, SNC and then retired from the Hutchinson Clinic.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her father Max Lavielle and her husband Richard Barth, and is survived by Mother Lou Lavielle, Hutchinson, KS; brother Danny Lavielle, Seattle WA; sister Diane (Jack) Martin, Hutchinson, KS; children Michelle (Danny) Wilson, Hutchinson, KS; Tracy (Mike) Voth, Hutchinson, KS; Karen (Arturo) Martinez, Manhattan, KS. Thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, two furry friends and loved by many.

Jeannie was baptized in the First Baptist Church in 1964 and attended Crossroads Christian Church in her latter years. She enjoyed her family immensely and will be remembered for making Thanksgiving and Christmas extra special. Heaven has gained a witty, smart, and generous angel. She will be deeply missed.

Cremation has taken place. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Crossroads Christian Church, 4310 N Monroe St, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Kevin Guffey officiating. Jeannie attended Adela Hale Business Career School and obtained her certificate for Administrative Assistant. Jeannie worked at Cessna/Eaton, SNC and then retired from the Hutchinson Clinic.Jeannie was preceded in death by her father Max Lavielle and her husband Richard Barth, and is survived by Mother Lou Lavielle, Hutchinson, KS; brother Danny Lavielle, Seattle WA; sister Diane (Jack) Martin, Hutchinson, KS; children Michelle (Danny) Wilson, Hutchinson, KS; Tracy (Mike) Voth, Hutchinson, KS; Karen (Arturo) Martinez, Manhattan, KS. Thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, two furry friends and loved by many.Jeannie was baptized in the First Baptist Church in 1964 and attended Crossroads Christian Church in her latter years. She enjoyed her family immensely and will be remembered for making Thanksgiving and Christmas extra special. Heaven has gained a witty, smart, and generous angel. Bonnie Sue (Cross) Gadberry-Ingle, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on­­­­­ September 27, 2023, in Grove, OK. She was born on April 19, 1944, in Hutchison, KS to Andrew Cross and Pearl (Dorsey) Cross.

Bonnie Sue had a remarkable career as a Real Estate Agent for an impressive 26 years. Her dedication and expertise in the field made her a trusted professional in her community. Throughout her successful career, Bonnie Sue formed lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Beyond her career achievements, Bonnie Sue had many passions and interests that brought joy to her life. She had a talent for painting and found solace and inspiration in gardening. A devout woman of faith, Bonnie Sue was an active member of the Assembly of God church. Her unwavering faith guided her through life's challenges and inspired those around her.

Bonnie Sue (Cross) Gadberry-Ingle |1944-2023|

Lola Fern Voth was born January 2, 1930 in Newton, Kansas, to Leo and Sarah (Kliewer) Voth. After a week-long stay at Sarah’s parents’ home due to a snowstorm, Leo picked up Sarah and little Lola to head out to their farm home east of Newton in the Grace Hill community where Lola spent all of her growing up years. Younger brother Arlo Lee joined the family two years later.&nbsp;

Lola attended elementary through 8th grades at the one-room Star School. Grace Hill Mennonite Church, where Lola was baptized, was the center of the farming community’s social structure. Growing up, Lola especially enjoyed time with cousins, trips to town and the cats &amp; kittens on the farm. Lola attended Bethel College Academy her first two years of high school then Whitewater High School where she graduated in 1948.

After high school, Lola attended Bethel College in North Newton where she met Gerald Lee Schmidt (aka Curly and Gerry) and graduated as a social sciences major in 1952. During Lola’s senior year, Curly did voluntary service in Washington DC. From the photos, it looks like they had a lovely, fun time when Lola visited from Kansas. &nbsp;

&nbsp;In 1952, following a June wedding in the Bethel College chapel, Lola and Curly moved to Denver. Lola took a job as a secretary in the hospital where Curly was doing 1-W service as an aide. Their time in Denver instilled a lifelong love for Colorado.&nbsp;

After two years in Denver, Curly took a teaching job at Hays High School in Hays, Kansas, where they bonded with other young teachers and couples and forged friendships that lasted a life time. Their first child Greg was born in 1955. After two years in Hays Lola and Curly moved to Wichita where Curly worked in administration in the Wichita Public Schools. &nbsp;

In Wichita, Barry joined the family in 1957, and Andrea came along in 1960. Lola kept the household running, coordinated three summer moves to Colorado (and one to Los Angeles) for Curly’s graduate studies, was active at Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church and helped at the children’s school.&nbsp;

1967 brought big change for the family with a move to the Chicago area where Curly took a position at Northwestern University Medical School. As the kids settled into seventh, fifth and first grade in the Oak Park school system, Lola got to know new friends through the Newcomers Club, First Presbyterian Church where the family attended, and recreational tennis leagues where she and Gerry played doubles. The suburb of Oak Park provided a cozy village ambiance with the big city within 30 minutes train ride for museums and the beach on Lake Michigan, all good sites to take friends and family visiting from out-of-town.&nbsp;

Lola worked in the high school library during most of the years in Oak Park. The family enjoyed many weekends at Camp Friedenswald in southern Michigan and eventually began attending Lombard Mennonite Church. LMC rekindled Mennonite connections and nurtured significant relationships.&nbsp;

When all three kids were finished with high school, Lola and Gerry explored options for a pre-retirement move and settled on relocation to Littleton, Colorado, in 1980. Together they became business owners and operated the Stop Smoking Center. With a more flexible schedule they began extensive travels to Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska, Russia and many Elderhostel Learning Tours in the United States. This was in addition to many daytrips for hikes, picnics and skiing (Gerry) in Colorado.&nbsp;

In 1991 Gerry was diagnosed with ALS but their travels and activities continued including trips to see grandsons Kyle and Joel in Indiana. As Gerry’s health declined, Lola became his primary caregiver and helped navigate the construction of a new, handicapped accessible duplex in nearby Lakewood. Gerry passed away on October 3, 1997.

Without Gerry, Lola continued traveling, this time with friends, on her own or with tour companies. She added South America to her list and eventually completed 16 Elderhostels. She also began volunteering at the Denver Ten Thousand Villages store and thoroughly enjoyed the weekly coffee group at First Mennonite Church. She began reading voraciously and was especially fond of her book club group, primarily friends from First Mennonite.&nbsp;

As house maintenance became a burden, Lola moved to Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton, Kansas, to be closer to family. While living for 11 years in Independent Living, Lola enjoyed Life Enrichment at Bethel College, volunteering at the Et Cetera Shop and Shalom Mennonite Church (her new church home), joining other Shalomers for Monday coffee, trips to Indiana to help care for twin grandbabies Ben &amp; Grace, Kauffman Museum activities, walks and babysitting granddaughter Jen who lived close by. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Following moves to Assisted Living and Health Care at Kidron, Lola passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023.&nbsp;

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, and brother Arlo. She is survived by children Greg (Jan) Schmidt of Berne, IN; Barry (Gretchen) Schmidt of South Jordan, UT; and Andrea (Mark) Andres of rural Newton, KS; grandchildren Kyle, Joel (Jenna), Jennifer, Ben and Grace; great-grandchildren Eden and Emersyn; sister-in-law Ann Voth; brother-in-law Clinton Schmidt.

Edna Mae (Goad) Franco 82, died at her Walton residence on September 26, 2023. She was born March 9, 1941 in Newton, Kansas to William "Bill" and Ruby Elda "Decker" Goad. On April 30, 1960 she married Gregorio Franco at Newton, Kansas and he survives of the home.

Edna was a woman of great faith and faithfully served her church in many capacities thorough the years. &nbsp;Her greatest joy in life was being a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. &nbsp;

Edna is survived by her husband Gregorio of the home; son David Franco; daughter Cheri (Patrick) Stabler; sister Doris Lewallen; 6 grandchildren Stephanie, steven, Matthew, Nate, Jacob and Kylee 6 great grandchildren Dakota, Alex, Jackson, Brooks, Zoey and Benjamin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Billy and Gaylon Goad and sister Karen Baker

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesdays, October 3, 2023 at Church of God of the Firstborn at 10th and Oak in Newton with Pastor Charles Brackeen presiding. &nbsp;Burial will be in the Royer Cemetery on S.W. 24th in Rural Newton. Terry A. Schroeder, 63, passed away at his home in Newton, Kansas on Saturday, September 23, 2023 surrounded by many of his family members.

Born on August 14th, 1960, the youngest of three children to Howard and Delia (Huxman) Schroeder in Newton, Kansas where he grew up and lived out his life. Terry attended Newton schools and worked most of his life as a carpenter. His first marriage, though ending in divorce would gain him 4 sons. Later in life, meeting his wife, Marcelle, and gaining him 4 bonus children.&nbsp;

Terry loved to spend time with his many grandchildren, driving his pickup truck, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play, and both reading and watching westerns.

He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Delia Schroeder, his son-in-law Brian Escalante, and great grandson Ka’mari Beaver.&nbsp;

Terry is survived by his wife Marcelle Windsor of the home, his brother Stan (Beth) Schroeder of Moorestown, NJ, and sister Janet Davis of Wichita, KS;&nbsp; his four sons, Thomas Gile of Ferdonia, KS, David (Vanessa) Gile of Carthage, MO, Daniel (Kim) Gile of Iola, KS, and Joshua (Kayla) Gile of Ferdonia, KS; his four bonus children, Crystal Escalante of Cheney, KS, Trisha (Wes) Welch of Wichita, KS, Monica (Tiyson) Pherigo of Newton, KS and Stephan (Gen) Clark of Newton, KS; his 29 grandchildren and his one great granddaughter, Everleigh.

Taylor ‘Frankie’ Francis Terry, 31, of Hutchinson, died September 25, 2023. He was born February 21, 1992, in Wichita, to Tracy Sherman and Elizabeth Mary (Halula) Terry.

Taylor graduated from Central Christian School and then attended Hutchinson Community College. He worked as an arborist for BARC Tree Care in Hutchinson.

Frankie was a very artistic and creative person. He enjoyed music, playing piano, drawing, and building things with his hands. His artistic skills were evident in other areas of his life and he enjoyed staying busy and always had multiple projects going on at the same time, including but not limited to working on his vehicles, woodworking, building pergolas, tables, and any other projects that he thought his loved ones would enjoy. He also enjoyed being outdoors and any outdoor sport, especially kayaking, wildlife and nature. Taylor was a very caring soul, he showed compassion and love to all people he met. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. &nbsp;

Taylor is survived by: his parents, Tracy Terry of Hutchinson and Elizabeth (Dennis) Goff of Holton; sister, Brittney (Jake Neff) Terry of Goddard; niece, Lydia Mazur; nephew, James Mazur; significant other, Michaela Schommer; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ina Terry; maternal grandparents, John and Sharon Halula; uncles, Brian and Matthew Halula.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Philip Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his book Wednesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Lenette Bolnick – born in McPherson, KS and resided in St. Louis, MO – passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2023, at the age of 77. She is survived by her husband Mike to whom she was married for 56 years; two children, Doug (and his wife Molly) of O’Fallon, MO, and Deborah of Dallas TX; three grandchildren – Lilly and Max Rollins and Ben Bolnick; sister, Barbara VonFeldt (and her husband David) of Topeka, KS; niece, Jennifer Bennett (and her husband Klint and son Henry) of Kansas City, MO; nephew Brian VonFeldt (and his wife Christina and sons Colin and Aidan) of Olathe, KS; and countless friends. Lenette was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Doris Eaton of McPherson.

Lenette loved her family, travel, cooking and helping others. She was a cheerleader for her kids and grandkids’ accomplishments and sporting events, a home chef known for having the best lasagna recipe in town, and a person who took pride in getting things done.

Lenette graduated from McPherson High School in 1964 and attended Kansas State University, where she met Mike.

Following their marriage, they lived in Germany for several years while stationed with the U.S. Army in the late 1960s and sparked a love for travel, which continued for the rest of their lives together. In addition to exploring Europe as newlyweds, the happy couple was introduced to cruising in the 1990s and visited almost every island in the Caribbean, as well as Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, New England and Europe with their family and friends. She also enjoyed quick getaway trips with her family around England, France, Italy, Ireland, Iceland and everywhere in the United States. One requirement for these trips was to attempt, celebrate or taste something new each time, which created forever memories and countless new food favorites.

Lenette also enjoyed giving back to her community. She volunteered with Girl Scouts, the Daughters of the American Revolution (both locally in St. Louis and at the national level), the United Methodist Church, Life Seekers and other premature birth support organizations, school PTA, and her children’s sports clubs.

A funeral service in her honor will be performed at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Glidden-Ediger- Wiggins Funeral Home, McPherson. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. A celebration of life memorial service will be announced and held later in St. Louis in December.

Marvin LeRoy “Swede” Norstrom, 79, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

LeRoy was born on November 8, 1943, in McPherson, KS, the son of Milton and Pearl (Nash) Norstrom.&nbsp; He graduated from Roxbury High School in 1961. LeRoy was a resident of McPherson since 1969, moving from Roxbury, KS.&nbsp; He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.&nbsp; He retired from the NCRA Refinery where he worked as a welder.

On February 22, 1969, he married Jeanne Kay Grauerholz at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson.&nbsp; They were blessed with two children, Starla Joy and Christopher DeMonte.&nbsp; Jeanne preceded LeRoy in death on March 9, 2018.

Survivors include daughter, Starla Wicker and husband, Brian, of Glendale, AZ; son, Chris Norstrom of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Sydney and Mason Wicker and Crystian Norstrom; brother, Kenneth Norstrom of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, Sherry Ray of Bedford, IN; nieces, Brenda Becker and husband, Gene, of Wichita, KS, Angie Cundiff and husband, Tony, of Bedford, IN, and Shawna Pemberton and husband, P.I., of Mitchell, IN; and several great and great-great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; parents-in-law, Rex &amp; Iris Grauerholz; sister-in-law, Fern Norstrom; and brother-in-law, Bob Ray.

A private family graveside service will be held at&nbsp;the McPherson Cemetery.&nbsp;

Today is a very sad day for our family. &nbsp;Mom was such a kind and loving mother and friend. &nbsp;She loved her husband Virgil, with all her heart. &nbsp;They almost had 69 years together. &nbsp;They were married on July 14, 1954, on one of the hottest days of the year. &nbsp;She dearly loved seeing her family. &nbsp;She was sent to love out of the home at the age of 13 to live with a kind lady in Beloit, Kansas, to complete her high school education.

She then went to Marymount College in Concordia, Kansas to study to be an RN nurse. &nbsp;She was an RN nurse for 50+ years. &nbsp;This was a huge achievement for her!!! Her family and friends gave her great joy. &nbsp;She was loved by many and loved her Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil D. Owen: Daughters: Mary (Mike) Ruhl; Diane (Gary) Cortner; JoAnn (Danny) Burt; and son: John (Julie) Owen. &nbsp;There are 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

William Carl Norris was born June 9, 1963, to Al and Peggy Norris in Lincoln, Nebraska. &nbsp;He attended elementary and middle school in Fargo, North Dakota and high school in Sioux City, Iowa and Walker, Minnesota. &nbsp;He did a lot of trapping, fishing, and hunting as a teen and had many fond memories of the trips he got to do with his dad (his favorite hunting trip was the one where they let the big one get away).

William attended North Dakota State University studying accounting, but worked primarily with technology and computers as he enjoyed that more. &nbsp;He was an avid gamer. &nbsp;William was a lifetime member of SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society, where his cowboy action shooting name was Riptide. &nbsp;He looked mighty handsome in a hat and duster. &nbsp;William married Rowdena in Fargo September 20, 1997. &nbsp;He enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. &nbsp;His passion was camping with his bride, both in tents and the “Little Guy,” and some of his favorite spots were Lake Allen Henry in Texas and Prairie Dog State Park in Kansas. &nbsp;One of his favorite memories was being within inches of a mountain goat while hiking in Glacier National Park.

William had a sure confidence and faith in God. &nbsp;When he knew his brain tumors would cut his life short, he lived every day to its full capacity and most days would say, “my life is great” and even “this is the best part of my life.” &nbsp;He died too young on September 23, 2023, in Hutchinson, Kansas at age 60, leaving behind his beloved wife, Rowdena; his siblings, Larry, Ruth, Donna, and Beverly; Rowdena’s siblings, Rob, Ben, Brian, Roellen, and Brad; several nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and many faithful friends, including his wonderful church family. &nbsp;Towards the end of his life, two of his favorite phrases were “it makes me laugh” (which he did a lot) and “Go with God”. &nbsp;He will be greatly missed by all who loved him!

Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastors Luke Helmuth and Chris Flynn officiating. &nbsp;Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Dayna Joy Richardson, 78, of Hutchinson, passed away September 25, 2023, at Hospice House, after a brief illness. She was born January 10, 1945, in Hardtner, to Bert and Polly Ann (Gaddis) Nittler. Dayna was raised on the family farm in Lake City with five brothers and was always “Daddy’s Girl.”

A career educator, Dayna was passionate about teaching and learning. After graduating from Medicine Lodge High School in 1963 and Southwestern College in Winfield in 1967, she began teaching fifth grade in Shawnee Mission. Dayna graduated again from UMKC and taught in Lawrence and then moved to Reno County, where she loved working at RCEC, ESSDACK, and Buhler USD 313. Dayna was very involved with Learning Forward Kansas.

On September 1, 1979, she married Al Disney, in Hutchinson.

Dayna loved to travel, always calling them “field trips” - an opportunity to learn. She and Al visited all seven continents, taking loads of pictures for her annual slide show. Dayna loved the theater and Broadway. She was thrilled to see Barbara Streisand in concert recently. Decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas, brought her great joy. Dayna loved big family gatherings, cooking, flower gardening, Diet Pepsi, the color blue, all things Mickey Mouse, KU and HCC basketball, and shopping. It gave her great joy buying gifts for others.&nbsp;

Dayna is survived by: her husband, Al Disney; five stepchildren whom she loved as her own, Ann Stivers (Tom Fifer), Bradenton, FL, Gaye Disney (Tom Turner), Corpus Christi, TX, Chris Disney, Kim Disney (Gene Lenhart), Jill Hayes (James), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tom Stivers (Taylor), David Stivers (Niki), Christopher Stivers (Diana), Johnny Novotny III (Jill), Thom Disney Black (Audrey), Heather Disney Black (David Rees), Kayley Hamlin (Kasey), Ben Hoffhines; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jan Nittler, Arkansas City, Kent Nittler (Sandy) Medicine Lodge, Bill Nittler (Laura), Medicine Lodge, Randy Nittler (Deb), Arkansas City, Jody Nittler (Debbie Boyce), Medicine Lodge; sister-in-law, Bev Manurzak (Zak), Wichita; many nieces and nephews.

Dayna loved big family gatherings, cooking, flower gardening, Diet Pepsi, the color blue, all things Mickey Mouse, KU and HCC basketball, and shopping. It gave her great joy buying gifts for others.&nbsp;Dayna is survived by: her husband, Al Disney; five stepchildren whom she loved as her own, Ann Stivers (Tom Fifer), Bradenton, FL, Gaye Disney (Tom Turner), Corpus Christi, TX, Chris Disney, Kim Disney (Gene Lenhart), Jill Hayes (James), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tom Stivers (Taylor), David Stivers (Niki), Christopher Stivers (Diana), Johnny Novotny III (Jill), Thom Disney Black (Audrey), Heather Disney Black (David Rees), Kayley Hamlin (Kasey), Ben Hoffhines; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jan Nittler, Arkansas City, Kent Nittler (Sandy) Medicine Lodge, Bill Nittler (Laura), Medicine Lodge, Randy Nittler (Deb), Arkansas City, Jody Nittler (Debbie Boyce), Medicine Lodge; sister-in-law, Bev Manurzak (Zak), Wichita; many nieces and nephews.Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Elliott Chapel.
