
Melvin Koehn, 79, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Moundridge Manor. He was born December 17, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Herman and Martha (Zeiset) Koehn.
He attended Chickasha, Oklahoma schools.
Melvin was a member of the Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Moundridge.
He was united in marriage to Julitta Koehn on May 21, 1967 in Galva. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2015.
Melvin was a mechanic and owned and operated Mel’s Repair in Galva, He also farmed.
He is survived by his son, Verlynn (Jennifer) Koehn of Galva; daughter, Vianne (Steve) Koehn of Moundridge; three brothers, Jerald (Linda) Koehn of Halstead, Dennis Koehn (Martha) Koehn of Newbern, Alabama, Gene Koehn Ruleville, Mississippi; son-in-law, Stephan (Shana) Koehn of Hardinsburg, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepmother, Nina Koehn; two daughters, Vonalee Koehn and Shelly Koehn; grandson, Kyle Koehn; sister, Mary Lou Rempel; and four brothers, Truman Koehn, Jim Koehn, Delmar Koehn and Dale Koehn.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Gospel Mennonite Church, Moundridge. Burial will follow at Lone Tree Church Cemetery, rural Galva. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
