Debra Kay Byers, 63, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died May 25, 2023, at her home. She was born April, 9, 1960, to Donald and Ella (Thiel) Wedel, in Hutchinson, KS.

Deb attended Sterling High School and later graduated from Regis University with her Bachelor’s of Administration Management. She worked as a Product Manager. Deb was on the Dean’s Summer List of 2008 for Regis University and the Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She enjoyed doing crafts, including scrapbooking, shadow boxes, and card making.

On May 27, 1978, Deb married Donald Eugene Byers, in Hays, KS. They shared 45 years of marriage together.

She is survived by: husband, Don Byers, Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Kirsta Byers (Jim McCluskie), Huntington Beach, California; son, Aaron Byers (Lisa), Rural Retreat, Virginia; grandson, Maliek Miller, Huntington Beach, California; bonus grandchildren; Kassandra McCluskie, Seattle, Washington, Lorielle McCluskie, Portland, Oregon, and Connor Audette, Tempe, Arizona; sisters, Donna Holland (Wendell), New Blaine, Arkansas, Denise Klima (Jim), Ellinwood, KS, Dian Long (Randy), Claflin, KS; sister-in-law, Deb Graber, Kingman, KS; brother-in-law, Mike Byers, Kingman, KS; mother-in-law, Naomi Shuchman, Kingman, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Kyle Holland.

Shirley J. Cuckler, 93, died May 29, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born June 14, 1929, in Chadron, NE, to Walter and Amanda (Martens) Dobbins.

Shirley graduated from Chadron High School, Chadron, NE. &nbsp;She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, and fishing at the lake. &nbsp;Shirley was a talented seamstress, even making bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. &nbsp;After her husband, Boyd retired, they wintered in Mission, TX, where Shirley learned the game of golf. &nbsp;She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On September 18, 1949, she married Boyd A. Cuckler, in Chadron, NE. &nbsp;He died March 29, 2014, after they shared almost 65 years of marriage.

Shirley is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Deborah Siebert (Richard) of Hutchinson, and Cheryl Leigh Odell (Chris Hamlin) of Russell; grandchildren, Danae Wallace-Gates (Darrell) of Overland Park, Shawn Dressman, and Justin Whitt (Michelle) both of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Rylee, Reis, Brayden, Jocelyn, Brooklyn, Ava, and Jonah; brother, Clayton Dobbins of Fort Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arland W. Richards, 99, died May 27, 2023, at Legend of Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born October 12, 1923, in Salina, to Earl L. and Blenda M. (Ingemanson) Richards.&nbsp;

Arland graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1941, served in the United States Army from 1943-1946, and received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1950. He was the former owner of Hutchinson Industrial Supply. &nbsp;Arland was known for his spunky and outgoing personality. &nbsp;He enjoyed coffee at McDonald’s with his coffee group, and cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats. &nbsp;One of the many highlights during his life was being invited to breakfast on Veteran’s Day at the White House by First Lady, Laura Bush. &nbsp;Arland had served in the same battalion as Laura’s father.

On June 12, 1958, he married Cora Margaret “Marge (Crotts) McClelland, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;She died December 4, 2000, after sharing over 42 years of marriage together.

Arland is survived by: &nbsp;sons, Richard Crotts of Papua New Guinea, and Ken McClelland (Soni) of Hutchinson; close family friends, Susan and Randy Puls of Hutchinson; four grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in in death by: &nbsp;his parents; daughter, Janice Sargent; and a sister, Melva Richards.

Raymond (Ray) Medric Crannell passed away May 26, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents Harlo &amp; Cora Crannell, his life partner Nancy Koehn, sisters Janet Bowersox and Sharon Hein. 

He is survived by his sister Carol Rogers of Colorado Springs, sons Timothy (Tim) Crannell of Newton, Ks. &nbsp;Anothony (Tony) Crannell of Bellville, Ks. and his daughter Erica Rowson of Salina, Ks. Grandchildren Jeffrey, April, Damon, Blaze, Benjamin, Meadow and Rayne. Many nieces and nephews.

Ray worked for Superior Boiler in Hutchinson, Ks. for 30 plus years before retiring to Newton with his life partner Nancy Koehn. Ray was a beloved son, brother, father and uncle. He will be missed by his family.

Jack A. Hartle, 86, of Hutchinson, died May 28, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born April 9, 1937, in Hutchinson, to Kale Floyd and Martha Maxine (Stahl) Hartle.

Jack graduated from Lyons High School in 1955, and Kansas State University in 1971, Manhattan, with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News and Communications. He was the News Director for Eagle Radio, Great Bend.

Jack was the previous owner of Jack’s Café, in Lyons.

Jack was a huge college football fan, K-State, in particular. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and horseback riding when he was younger. Jack enjoyed his job as a News Director and was even in the Radio Broadcaster Hall of Fame. He also spent his time remodeling houses. Jack had an odd sense of humor, but he was very funny.

He was a loving a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

On August 10, 1985, he married Alice Jeanette Johnston, in McPherson. They shared over 36 years of marriage before her passing on May 20, 2022.

Jack is survived by: sons, Alan (Valorie) Hartle, The Villages, FL, and Jerod (Melissa) Hartle, Hutchinson; step-daughters, Julie Kitston and Susan (Mark) Mattison, both of Hutchinson; adopted son, Christopher (Kara) Hartle, Hutchinson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife; parents; son, Gregory Hartle; and step-daughter, Glenna Mitchell.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at Lyons Municipal Cemetery at a later date.

Don Eugene Graebner, 84, of Hutchinson, died May 27, 2023, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born November 28, 1938, on the family farm near Macksville, to Jim and Vaughan (Miles) Graebner.

Don graduated from high school in Clayton, NM. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. Don worked for many years at Cessna/Eaton, retiring as a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, and collecting John Deere miniatures. Don was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

He married Kathleen L. Paullin. She died December 3, 2007.

Don is survived by: his son, Troy Graebner (Michelle) of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Tiffanie Graebner of Hutchinson, Maegan Graebner of Columbia, MO, Averi Weir of Wichita Falls, TX, Matthew Weir of Azusa, CA; great-grandson, Zayden Graebner; brother, Doug Graebner (Margaret) of Hutchinson; sister, Roberta Britner (Richard) of Aurora, CO; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Travis; brothers, Norman, Noel, Leland; and sister, Ethel Mae Anderson.

Roberta A. (McDaniel) Leiker, 91, passed away on Sunday May 28, 2023 at home at Catholic Care Center, Wichita, KS. She and her twin brother Robert were born Feb. 2, 1932 in Scott County, KS to Daisy Mae (Cook) and Anson Robert McDaniel. While the birth certificate listed Feb. 2, their mother Daisy always said they were born Feb. 1.

Roberta attended the Liberty County Grade School in Logan County and graduated from Scott City High School in 1950. She worked at the Wallace Café and the Eskimo in high school. Roberta also worked for Duckwalls and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. After moving to McPherson, she worked at Anthonys and Calhoun before retiring from Sterling Drug.

She married Peter C. Leiker on Aug. 1, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Scott City, KS. They have three children, David, Donna and Diane.

Roberta was preceded in death by parents Anson Robert McDaniel and Daisy Mae (Cook) McDaniel, her brothers Robert and Arlo McDaniel, sisters Melva Rose, Virgie Redding, Marjorie McDaniel, and Lucille Barraza, and twin great granddaughters Celeste and Marie Rondeau.

She is survived by her husband, Peter C. Leiker; children, David M. (Mary) Leiker, Donna M. (Greg) Spachek, and Diane M. Scroggins; her grandchildren Michael (Amy) Leiker, Patrick (Megan) Leiker and Monica (Eric) Rondeau; Beth Spachek, Rebecca (Sean) Findley, and Daniel (Scott Miller) Spachek; Vanessa Scroggins and Sarah (Joel Tindall) Scroggins; great grandchildren, Thomas, Mary Claire and Grace Leiker; Edison, Charlotte and Pierce Leiker; Evelyn and triplets Margaret, Amelia and Walter Rondeau; Arthur Findley; and Leila Scroggins.

She and her twin brother Robert were born Feb. 2, 1932 in Scott County, KS to Daisy Mae (Cook) and Anson Robert McDaniel. While the birth certificate listed Feb. 2, their mother Daisy always said they were born Feb. 1.Roberta attended the Liberty County Grade School in Logan County and graduated from Scott City High School in 1950. She worked at the Wallace Café and the Eskimo in high school. Roberta also worked for Duckwalls and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. After moving to McPherson, she worked at Anthonys and Calhoun before retiring from Sterling Drug.She married Peter C. Leiker on Aug. 1, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Scott City, KS. They have three children, David, Donna and Diane.Roberta was preceded in death by parents Anson Robert McDaniel and Daisy Mae (Cook) McDaniel, her brothers Robert and Arlo McDaniel, sisters Melva Rose, Virgie Redding, Marjorie McDaniel, and Lucille Barraza, and twin great granddaughters Celeste and Marie Rondeau.She is survived by her husband, Peter C. Leiker; children, David M. (Mary) Leiker, Donna M. (Greg) Spachek, and Diane M. Mike Welch, 82, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, following injuries sustained in a cycling accident in the Flint Hills. He was a retired regional sales manager for SIP Industries.

Charles Michael Welch was born on June 22, 1940, in Denver, CO, the son of Charles Hadley and Alfretta “Freda” Elizabeth (White) Welch.&nbsp;

Mike served in the United States Air Force and was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: his daughter, Sonia Luttig of McPherson, KS; son, David Welch of Windom, KS; brother, Kerry David Welch (Pam) of Murray, KY; sister, Patty Kay Welch of Kansas City, MO; two granddaughters, Monica Luttig of McPherson, KS and LaToya Jones (Kris) of Kennewick, WA; seven great-grandchildren, Madden, MaKyna, Mercede, Kynzlie, Madison, Kason, &amp; Morgan; many extended family and friends, including all those in his cycling community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Freda Welch, and a brother, Timothy Welch.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; The memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 2, at Countryside Covenant Church with Bishop Michael Milliken officiating.&nbsp; Friends from the cycling community are encouraged to wear their favorite bike jerseys to the service in tribute to Mike.

Robert Jay Bock, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born May 5, 1937 in Manhattan, KS to Elmer Harvey and Christine Elaine (Ferguson) Bock.

Robert attended Emporia High School and graduated in 1955. &nbsp;In 1957, he met and married Marjorie Phillips. They later divorced in 1975. &nbsp;Robert worked as a sales representative for many years in the agriculture industry. He was a long time member of the Moose Lodge in Hutchinson, and was an elder at Park Place Christian Church. In 1990, Robert married Eva Galaviz, and she sadly passed away in 2016. &nbsp;On May 15, 2021, at the peak of COVID, he married Geri Vann. They spent two years together before she passed away in 2022.

Robert is also preceded by his parents, Elmer and Christine Bock; two daughters, Judy and Jody Bock; son, Edward Bock; sister, Doris Hoffman; two brothers, Jim and John Bock; and step-son, Richard “Rick” Hunt.

He is survived by three sons, Bradley (Denise) Bock of Salina, KS, Gary (Joyce) Bock of Manor, TX, and Christopher (Kathy) Bock of Greenville, SC; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bock-Ramskill; step-children, Debra, Patrick, Mark, and Jody Hunt; two sisters, Alice Goodwin and Nancy Jacob; four grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Dylan Mueller, and Skylar Bock; and four great grandchildren, Noah, Myleigh, Brooklyn, and Zady, and Holden Muller.

Lavonne Marie (Zimmerman) Farney, 91, died May 26, 2023, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;She was born January 17, 1932, the daughter of John A. and Edna Edith (Mosier) Zimmerman, in Reno County near Plevna, KS.

Lavonne graduated from Nickerson High School in 1949, and in 1953, she received a Bachelor’s degree from Sterling College. &nbsp;After graduation, she taught school in Dighton, KS, Flanagan, IL, Nickerson High School, and retired after teaching in the Hutchinson public schools.

She was a member of Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, Christian Educators Association, Retired Teachers of Reno County, and Questers.

On August 14, 1955, Lavonne married Bob Farney. &nbsp;They lived on a farm southwest of Sterling, KS, where they worked the land together and served in the community and church. &nbsp;They spent four years (1961-1965) at Salem Children’s Home near Flanagan, IL, with their children, Jack, Tyler, and Gayle, helping care for needy children before returning back to their farm.

Lavonne is survived by: &nbsp;her husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Farney of South Hutchinson, KS; sister, Greta Zimmerman of South Hutchinson, KS; children, Jack (Kay) Farney of Sterling, KS, and Gayle (Rick) Fehr of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law, Keva Farney of North Newton, KS; grandchildren, Garet (Jaymelynn) Farney of Sterling, KS, Logan (Megan) Farney of Sterling, KS, Chelsi (Zack) Marshall of Eureka, KS, Wyatt (Laurel) Farney of Elbing, KS, Yance (Elaine) Farney of Kechi, KS, Rob (Abby) Fehr of Omaha, NE, and Nate (Laura) Fehr of Bentonville, AR; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Maxine O’Neill passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 27th 2023, she was 77 years old. Maxine lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her enormous capacity to love and her kind and grateful spirit. Maxine loved traveling, which included crisscrossing the country with her husband of 38 years, Lynn Auernheimer and their friends on their Harleys. She also found great joy in watching her grandchildren compete in sports and truly was their number one fan, never missing an event. She was a fierce competitor herself during card nights with her daughters and granddaughter and the laughter of those nights will be not be forgotten.

Maxine graduated from Newton High School in 1963. She enjoyed a 50+ year career with AGCO, formerly, Hesston Corporation. She took pride in her work and was driven by her desire to take care of her family. Maxine is survived by her husband, Lynn Auernheimer. Children; Kellie Griffith’s (Corey), Jamie Remsberg (Tad), Jadlyn O’Neill, Terri Shyrock (Jeffrey Loyd), Vickie Hiebert (Lynell) and Jack Lyon (Julie). Grandchildren; Kadin Remsberg (Kailey), Maggie Remsberg, Jonah Remsberg, Peyton O’Neill, Isabella O’Neill, Noah O’Neill, Brian Herbert (Amber), Ashley Nuss (James) and Kendall Hiebert. Great grandchildren; Ezra Hiebert, Charlie and Gracie Nuss. Siblings: Robert Whomans (Mary Ann), Marjorie Keazer, Rose Allison (Nick Kyle), Lee Allison, Howard Allison (Becky), Art Allison (Sandy). Maxine is proceeded in death by her parents DH and Florence Allison and brother Paul Whomans. Maxine bravely fought a nine year battle with cancer. Her strength and will to live was unmeasurable and she will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral Service will be graveside at Greenwood Cemetery Wednesday May 31st at 10:00 a.m.. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later day.

Jonah ‘Joe’ L. Birdwell, 79, passed away May 26, 2023, at Diversicare of Hutchinson, KS. &nbsp;He was born February 18, 1944, in Wichita, KS, to J.F. Birdwell and Vivian Irene (Morton) Birdwell.

Joe was employed as a railroad car inspector. &nbsp;He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, KS.

On August 5, 1966, Joe married Pamela G. Hildebrand. &nbsp;They shared over 56 years of marriage.

He is survived by: &nbsp;his wife, Pamela Birdwell of Hutchinson, KS; children, Chris Birdwell and Ami (Scott) Dick, both of Hutchinson, KS; step-grandchildren, Tonia (Josh) Metz and Joshua (Sarah) Bair; brother, Terry Wells of Mesquite, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; sister, Frieda Wiley; and brother, John Birdwell.

Cassandra was born August 5, 1952 to William Dale Weathers and Cassie Jane (Smith) Weathers. She has 2 brothers, Glen Dale Weathers, Billy Joe Weathers, and a sister, Patricia Ann Weathers.

Cassandra is survived by her three daughters, Theresa (Robert) Fuzzell, Eugenia (James) Forsey, and Judith Bale.

She was preceded in life by her parents, brother, Glen Dale Weathers, and the love of her life, Louis E Bale.

Cassandra retired from the Holiday Inn Express on I-70, Salina, KS. She worked for many years at the Breakfast Bar. Cassandra was lovingly known as "Sandy the Candy Lady," and will be forever cherished by us. 

She also leaves behind 9 grandkids, 11 great grandkids, and her three fur babies, Tiny Tim, Cricket and Buster.

Sammie E. Mosier, 83, Hutchinson, died May 25, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born October 15, 1939, in Sterling, to Samuel O. and Selma M. (Engbrecht) Mosier.

Sammie was a 1957 graduate of Nickerson High School and 1961 graduate of Sterling College. He taught 6th grade at Nickerson Elementary School for 32 years. After retirement, he was a groundskeeper at The Highlands for several years and a Funeral Assistant at Elliott Mortuary. On August 30, 1960, he married Dorothy A. Taylor in Sterling. She survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Mosier; brothers, Dwain (Kathryn), Peoria, IL, Rod, Roger (Colleen); and sister-in-law, Carol, all of Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Paul (Pat) Taylor, Lanai City, HI; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Marlen; and sisters, Roberta Birkey and Lurlene Wagler.

Jeffrey S. Arnold, age 66, passed away peacefully, his wife Julie and daughter Melissa by his side on Friday May 26, 2023, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born January 27, 1957, in Neenah Wisconsin, son of the late Oscar H. Norton and Betty (Jones) Hoffman. Jeff was adopted May 10, 1957 by the late Laurence Lester and Pearl Loretta (Martin) Arnold of New Lisbon, Wisconsin. Barbara Sharp served as church secretary and Jeff’s Honorary Mom.&nbsp;

Jeff married Julie (Petty) Arnold December 24, 2003, they were happily married for 19 1/2 years and the mainstay, of their lives was the faith they shared in Jesus Christ.

&nbsp;Jeff attended the University of Wisconsin University-Madison studying to be a surgeon, He decided to take a year off to learn more about the Bible at University of Northwestern-St. Paul. That is when he was called to follow Jesus Christ. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Preaching Ministry from Central Christian College of the Bible, Masters Degree in Old Testament and Language Arts at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, Lincoln, IL. Jeff was set apart to the ministry of the Gospel of Christ, Ordination at Elmo, Missouri on September 25, 1991. He preached at Elmo Christian Church in Elmo, Missouri, Community Christian Church, Scott City, KS, Laredo Christian Church (Student Ministry), Laredo, MO, Bushnell Christian Church, Bushnell, IL, and South Hutchinson Christian Church, South Hutchinson KS. He taught Hebrew at Manhattan Christian College and was a Chaplain at Good Samaritan in Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp;

Jeff loved his friends at Life Recovery Coffee Corner 5th and Adams, playing dominos with Good Samaritan men’s group, working puzzles, collecting coins, found great joy spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, and above all, enjoyed studying and teaching the Word of God and he did that with numerous Bible Studies throughout the week.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Julie; daughter Melissa (Derek) Brau, son Nate (Amber) Arnold, step-son Michael (Courtney) McEachern, and step-daughter Michele Gonzalez; grandchildren Jaxson, Jordynn, Brooke, and Ella Kough; Carol, Aliza, and Gideon Arnold; Maverick McEachern; and Gilbert Andrew, Kyla, and Desirea Larralde; and great-grandchildren Kingston and Bentlee Larralde; and sister Gayle Holte (Jim).

He was preceded in death by his parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

He was born to Abe &amp; Olga Androes of Newton KS.&nbsp;After graduating High School he joined the Navy and did a minor tour of 3 yrs and 4 months.&nbsp;He got out of the Navy June 5th,1955.

He married Naomi (Jo) D Fluke November of 1956 and together they had 3 children.&nbsp;

He worked for United Airlines as a baggage handler and retired after 30 years.&nbsp;

Presiding him in death was his mother Olga Klassen Androes, died September 26, 1995, his father Abraham Herbert Androes, died November 29, 2000.&nbsp;

He had one brother, Jerry Allen Androes who currently resides in Vietnam.&nbsp;His 3 children are Connie R. Gandy of Johnstown, CO, Gary W. Androes of Wheatridge, CO, and Stephanie R. Merritt of Johnstown, CO.&nbsp; He has 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren &amp; 3 great-great grandchildren.&nbsp;

His hobbies were going to coffee with his friends and building little wooden boxes for friends and family.&nbsp;

Marjorie (Maneth) Thomas passed away on May 25th, 2023 at Ellinwood Hospital. Born on January 4, 1935 in Hoisington, KS she was the daughter of Arthur &amp; Mary (Bush) Maneth. Marjorie grew up in Olmitz, KS working alongside her father she learned how to farm and work cattle. She attended Catholic school in Olmitz later graduating from Otis High School in 1954. Marjorie married Robert Thomas in January of 1958 in Olmitz they were married for 64 years before he passed away in 2021. They worked side by side on the farm where she did it all from raising kids and later grandkids, cooking, and cleaning to driving the wheat truck well into her 80s and working cattle.

Survivors&nbsp;include sons, John Thomas and Danny Thomas; daughters, Joan McNett and Sharon Reichuber; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. Marjorie was preceded in death by husband Robert Thomas, son-in-laws, Gerald Reichuber and Raymond McNett; siblings, Arthur Maneth, Mary Ann Wondra, Beatrice Schneweis and 2 grandchildren, Alex Thomas &amp; Ashley Reichuber.

Funeral Mass will take place 10:30 AM, Wed., May 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood, KS with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Allen Edward Schlehuber passed away on May 24, 2023 at the age of 91. 

He was born on November 9, 1931 in Hillsboro, Ks to Herbert and Katherine (Kohfeld) Schlehuber. He was the third of four children.

He married Alma Laubhan of Durham, KS on January 18, 1953 a marriage lasting nearly 70 years.

Allen was a lifelong local resident and the third generation to make his living on the Schlehuber Family farm/ranch four miles West of Hillsboro. 

He so enjoyed his occupations. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his incredible can-do work ethic, and his ability to fix about anything. His innovative mind gave him the ability to be a real problem solver making many tasks easier for himself and others.

He was preceded in death by his wife Alma, parents Herbert and Katherine (Kohfeld) Schlehuber. Sisters Eleanor Harder and Lorene Herbel, brother Paul Schlehuber.

He is survived by son Merle (Marolyn) Schlehuber, Granddaughter Maci (Schlehuber) Ellison and her husband Taylor. Two sister-in-laws Lorene Shumaker and Julie Werdonn, as well as nieces and nephews.

Larry Ray Becker, 78, passed away on May 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. 

He was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Jacob George Becker II and Wanda Maxine (Radloff) Becker. Soon after he was born they moved to Topeka, Kansas where his two sisters Mary and Betty were born.&nbsp; They lived in a tent down on the river where his Dad would fish and work as a longshoreman.&nbsp; The family then moved to Houston, Texas where Larry, age 7, and his mother came down with polio. She was completely paralyzed from the neck down and was out in a iron lung for a year, but got better and was taken out. She stayed paralyzed the rest of her life, but she came home where she was taken care of by family.&nbsp; They moved to Kansas City, Missouri when Larry was 12 years old.&nbsp; At age 17 he joined the Navy, but his sister Betty wrote a letter to the Governor of Missouri asking him to bring Larry back home for his Mother due to her health. The Governor did bring him back. At age 18 he went to live with his half sister Wilma and her husband Art in Abilene, Texas.&nbsp; Art was in the Air Force so they moved to Derby, Kansas to the Wichita Air Base.&nbsp; Larry started working at Harmon Machine Company where he met the love of his life, Carol Leopold. They started dating in November, 1965 and were married August 6, 1966.&nbsp; On June 13, 1969 they welcomed their first daughter Deanna Rae Becker.&nbsp; Then on August 22, 1971 they had a son Russell Lee Becker, and on February 28, 1982 they welcomed their third child Larry David Becker, which completed their family. They now have 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.&nbsp; Larry started work at Cessna Aircraft in 1965 and was there 22 years before they had a layoff. He then worked for Boeing for 15 years where he was a Manufacturing Engineer at both companies. When Boeing had their layoff he went to work for Bradbury Company in Moundridge, Kansas as a Small Mill Operator. He really liked doing that, and did not go back into working in an office. He retired after 12 years there.&nbsp; He and Carol started traveling where they enjoyed seeing many states.&nbsp; He had a great heart and always enjoyed helping others if they needed a place to stay, would help feed the homeless in Wichita and continued until he learned that he had Liver and Pancreas cancer which took him to be with Jesus. Larry was known as the Cowboy as he always wore his cowboy clothes and was also known as the Fireworks Man.&nbsp; We have been selling fireworks for over 55 years now.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Jacob &amp; Maxine Becker, brothers Paul Becker and Jacob Becker III, sisters Wilma Strong and Betty Simmons.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children Deanna Huffman, Russell Becker and Larry Becker; grandchildren Timothy, Tara, Tyler, Nathaniel and Tristan; great grandchildren Rowan, Beatrix and Ashelia; sisters Diane Dann and Mary Wilson; many other family and friends.

Delores J. Hobbs, 88, died May 25, 2023 at Legends Senior Living, Hutchinson. 

She was born June 21, 1934 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of William and Esther (DeVers) Anderson. She married Andrew “Jack” Hobbs Jr. on July 7, 1953 in Bethesda, MD. They were married 60 years before he passed away in 2013. Delores was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. 

Survivors include four children, Laura Finch (Wayne), Hutchinson, Robert Hobbs, Hutchinson, Scott Hobbs (Robin), Wichita, and Shawn Hobbs (Brandi), Hutchinson; one sister, Carol Watson; two brothers, Robert Anderson and William Anderson Jr. , 10 grandchildren, A.J. Finch (Sarah), Michael Finch, Richard Hobbs, Jr., Ashley Thoman (Kryss), Andrea Hobbs, Dalton Hobbs (Dafne), Hallie Hobbs, Zachary Hobbs, Kyle Garwood (Candice), and Andrew Garwood (Krystal Anderson), and five great grandchildren, Caydince, Bella, Lillian, Alivia and Isaac; and one great-great grandchild, Olive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; son, Jack Hobbs III; and brothers, Ronald and Ernest Anderson. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, with the family present from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Cremation will follow. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson. She married Andrew “Jack” Hobbs Jr. on July 7, 1953 in Bethesda, MD. They were married 60 years before he passed away in 2013. Delores was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. David Maurice Cole, 26, passed away May 24, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born October 19, 1996, in Hutchinson, the son of Alan Floyd and Shelly Kay Wolf Cole. He was a graduate of Buhler High School and had attended Hutchinson Community College.

David had a love for music, especially singing, at which he excelled. He loved basketball, especially the LA Lakers. He was a cornhole champion, enjoyed playing frisbee golf and spending time with his friends. He was a total mama’s boy and had a smile that was super contagious.

David was baptized at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson.

He is survived by his parents, Alan and Shelly, Buhler; a brother, Jonny Cole, Hutchinson; maternal grandparents, Billie and Christine Wolf, Medora; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Maurice and Bonnie Cole and his aunt, Christine McGahan.

Cremation is planned. Family will receive friends Monday, May 29, 2023, from 5PM-7PM at Inman Funeral Home. Parish rosary will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson, followed by funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Nathaniel “Than” Lee Fishback, 71, passed away on May 23, 2023 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS, after a five year battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 11, 1951 in Skidmore, MO, the son of Lyle L. and Mary Ann (Barber) Fishback.

On February 4, 1978, Than married Lola Buster in Galva, KS, to this union they were blessed with three children, Zach, Logan and Misty. In 1970, Than enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on October 2, 1972. Than worked at Certainteed as a forklift operator and retired after 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, knife making and chasing his grandchildren.

Than is survived by his mother, Mary Ann; a son, Zach (Jessi) Fishback and their two children, Addison (Zachary) Lott and Jillian Fishback; a daughter, Misty (Chris) Fishback-Milleson and their seven children, Jackie Milleson, Jamie Milleson, Dakota Nees, Rachel Milleson, Kinsley Nees, Alexa Milleson and Logan Milleson; mother of his children, Lola (Mark) Fishback Schlesinger; and a brother, Dale (Sandy) Fishback.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle; a son, Logan Fishback, and a brother, Keith Fishback.

Per Than’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the McPherson American Legion, 401 N. Main St, McPherson, KS. Larry D. Petzoldt, 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie, KS. He was born April 14, 1941 in Frohna, MO to Hugo E. and Anita (Boehme) Petzoldt.

Larry worked as a carpenter for many years. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, KS. On June 23, 1963, he married Dorothy Mattingly in Brewer, MO. She survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is also survived by his two daughters, Kimberly King and Janean Barlow; his son, Devin Petzoldt; and three grandchildren, Jordan, Parker, and Hunter Barlow.

Larry is preceded by his parents, Hugo and Anita Petzoldt; and one son, Rodney Petzoldt.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E 12th Ave, Hutchinson, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Quentin Nuttmann officiating.
