
Charlene Cheryl Buck, 78, died October 25, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born November 24, 1944, in Hutchinson, KS, to John Melvin Brown and Esther Ruth (Nusser) Brown.
Cheryl was a 1963 graduate of Fairfield High School, Langdon, KS. She worked as a personal property clerk at the Reno County Courthouse, retiring with many years of service. Cheryl enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidering, and sewing.
On June 27, 1964, she married Alfred ‘Charlie’ Elmer Buck at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 59 years of marriage.
Cheryl is survived by: her husband, Alfred ‘Charlie’ Buck of South Hutchinson, KS; sons, Mark (Karla) Buck and John Buck, both of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Sara (Adam) Brenton, Blake Buck, and Maria, Buck; great-grandchildren, Teegan Buck, Bretley Buck, and Ethen Logan; and siblings, Jim (Kathy) Brown, Betty Atkinson, Vanessa (Brad) Weeks, Charlotte (Ron Burlie) Brown, Becky (Don) Warner, Brenda (Mike) Waters, Farrol Brown, Chris Brown, Randy (Jennifer) Brown, and Aleta (Dennis) Moyer.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; grandparents, Michael and Mable Brown and Ernest and Helen Nusser; brother-in-law, David Atkinson; and sister-in-law, Marcia Brown.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Plevna Cemetery, Plevna, KS. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary.
