Lenette Bolnick – born in McPherson, KS and resided in St. Louis, MO – passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2023, at the age of 77. She is survived by her husband Mike to whom she was married for 56 years; two children, Doug (and his wife Molly) of O’Fallon, MO, and Deborah of Dallas TX; three grandchildren – Lilly and Max Rollins and Ben Bolnick; sister, Barbara VonFeldt (and her husband David) of Topeka, KS; niece, Jennifer Bennett (and her husband Klint and son Henry) of Kansas City, MO; nephew Brian VonFeldt (and his wife Christina and sons Colin and Aidan) of Olathe, KS; and countless friends. Lenette was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Doris Eaton of McPherson.

Lenette loved her family, travel, cooking and helping others. She was a cheerleader for her kids and grandkids’ accomplishments and sporting events, a home chef known for having the best lasagna recipe in town, and a person who took pride in getting things done.

Lenette graduated from McPherson High School in 1964 and attended Kansas State University, where she met Mike.

Following their marriage, they lived in Germany for several years while stationed with the U.S. Army in the late 1960s and sparked a love for travel, which continued for the rest of their lives together. In addition to exploring Europe as newlyweds, the happy couple was introduced to cruising in the 1990s and visited almost every island in the Caribbean, as well as Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, New England and Europe with their family and friends. She also enjoyed quick getaway trips with her family around England, France, Italy, Ireland, Iceland and everywhere in the United States. One requirement for these trips was to attempt, celebrate or taste something new each time, which created forever memories and countless new food favorites.

Lenette also enjoyed giving back to her community. She volunteered with Girl Scouts, the Daughters of the American Revolution (both locally in St. Louis and at the national level), the United Methodist Church, Life Seekers and other premature birth support organizations, school PTA, and her children’s sports clubs.

A funeral service in her honor will be performed at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Glidden-Ediger- Wiggins Funeral Home, McPherson. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. A celebration of life memorial service will be announced and held later in St. Louis in December.

Marvin LeRoy “Swede” Norstrom, 79, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

LeRoy was born on November 8, 1943, in McPherson, KS, the son of Milton and Pearl (Nash) Norstrom.&nbsp; He graduated from Roxbury High School in 1961. LeRoy was a resident of McPherson since 1969, moving from Roxbury, KS.&nbsp; He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.&nbsp; He retired from the NCRA Refinery where he worked as a welder.

On February 22, 1969, he married Jeanne Kay Grauerholz at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson.&nbsp; They were blessed with two children, Starla Joy and Christopher DeMonte.&nbsp; Jeanne preceded LeRoy in death on March 9, 2018.

Survivors include daughter, Starla Wicker and husband, Brian, of Glendale, AZ; son, Chris Norstrom of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Sydney and Mason Wicker and Crystian Norstrom; brother, Kenneth Norstrom of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, Sherry Ray of Bedford, IN; nieces, Brenda Becker and husband, Gene, of Wichita, KS, Angie Cundiff and husband, Tony, of Bedford, IN, and Shawna Pemberton and husband, P.I., of Mitchell, IN; and several great and great-great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; parents-in-law, Rex &amp; Iris Grauerholz; sister-in-law, Fern Norstrom; and brother-in-law, Bob Ray.

A private family graveside service will be held at&nbsp;the McPherson Cemetery.&nbsp;

Today is a very sad day for our family. &nbsp;Mom was such a kind and loving mother and friend. &nbsp;She loved her husband Virgil, with all her heart. &nbsp;They almost had 69 years together. &nbsp;They were married on July 14, 1954, on one of the hottest days of the year. &nbsp;She dearly loved seeing her family. &nbsp;She was sent to love out of the home at the age of 13 to live with a kind lady in Beloit, Kansas, to complete her high school education.

She then went to Marymount College in Concordia, Kansas to study to be an RN nurse. &nbsp;She was an RN nurse for 50+ years. &nbsp;This was a huge achievement for her!!! Her family and friends gave her great joy. &nbsp;She was loved by many and loved her Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil D. Owen: Daughters: Mary (Mike) Ruhl; Diane (Gary) Cortner; JoAnn (Danny) Burt; and son: John (Julie) Owen. &nbsp;There are 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

William Carl Norris was born June 9, 1963, to Al and Peggy Norris in Lincoln, Nebraska. &nbsp;He attended elementary and middle school in Fargo, North Dakota and high school in Sioux City, Iowa and Walker, Minnesota. &nbsp;He did a lot of trapping, fishing, and hunting as a teen and had many fond memories of the trips he got to do with his dad (his favorite hunting trip was the one where they let the big one get away).

William attended North Dakota State University studying accounting, but worked primarily with technology and computers as he enjoyed that more. &nbsp;He was an avid gamer. &nbsp;William was a lifetime member of SASS, the Single Action Shooting Society, where his cowboy action shooting name was Riptide. &nbsp;He looked mighty handsome in a hat and duster. &nbsp;William married Rowdena in Fargo September 20, 1997. &nbsp;He enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. &nbsp;His passion was camping with his bride, both in tents and the “Little Guy,” and some of his favorite spots were Lake Allen Henry in Texas and Prairie Dog State Park in Kansas. &nbsp;One of his favorite memories was being within inches of a mountain goat while hiking in Glacier National Park.

William had a sure confidence and faith in God. &nbsp;When he knew his brain tumors would cut his life short, he lived every day to its full capacity and most days would say, “my life is great” and even “this is the best part of my life.” &nbsp;He died too young on September 23, 2023, in Hutchinson, Kansas at age 60, leaving behind his beloved wife, Rowdena; his siblings, Larry, Ruth, Donna, and Beverly; Rowdena’s siblings, Rob, Ben, Brian, Roellen, and Brad; several nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and many faithful friends, including his wonderful church family. &nbsp;Towards the end of his life, two of his favorite phrases were “it makes me laugh” (which he did a lot) and “Go with God”. &nbsp;He will be greatly missed by all who loved him!

William Carl Norris |1963-2023|

Dayna Joy Richardson, 78, of Hutchinson, passed away September 25, 2023, at Hospice House, after a brief illness. She was born January 10, 1945, in Hardtner, to Bert and Polly Ann (Gaddis) Nittler. Dayna was raised on the family farm in Lake City with five brothers and was always “Daddy’s Girl.”

A career educator, Dayna was passionate about teaching and learning. After graduating from Medicine Lodge High School in 1963 and Southwestern College in Winfield in 1967, she began teaching fifth grade in Shawnee Mission. Dayna graduated again from UMKC and taught in Lawrence and then moved to Reno County, where she loved working at RCEC, ESSDACK, and Buhler USD 313. Dayna was very involved with Learning Forward Kansas.

On September 1, 1979, she married Al Disney, in Hutchinson.

Dayna loved to travel, always calling them “field trips” - an opportunity to learn. She and Al visited all seven continents, taking loads of pictures for her annual slide show. Dayna loved the theater and Broadway. She was thrilled to see Barbara Streisand in concert recently. Decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas, brought her great joy. Dayna loved big family gatherings, cooking, flower gardening, Diet Pepsi, the color blue, all things Mickey Mouse, KU and HCC basketball, and shopping. It gave her great joy buying gifts for others.&nbsp;

Dayna is survived by: her husband, Al Disney; five stepchildren whom she loved as her own, Ann Stivers (Tom Fifer), Bradenton, FL, Gaye Disney (Tom Turner), Corpus Christi, TX, Chris Disney, Kim Disney (Gene Lenhart), Jill Hayes (James), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tom Stivers (Taylor), David Stivers (Niki), Christopher Stivers (Diana), Johnny Novotny III (Jill), Thom Disney Black (Audrey), Heather Disney Black (David Rees), Kayley Hamlin (Kasey), Ben Hoffhines; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jan Nittler, Arkansas City, Kent Nittler (Sandy) Medicine Lodge, Bill Nittler (Laura), Medicine Lodge, Randy Nittler (Deb), Arkansas City, Jody Nittler (Debbie Boyce), Medicine Lodge; sister-in-law, Bev Manurzak (Zak), Wichita; many nieces and nephews.

Dayna Joy Richardson |1945-2023|

Lucille Elizabeth (Roth) Swartzendruber was born on May 25, 1929 in the family home near Wayland, Iowa and died on September 24, 2023 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, Kansas. Lucille was the 9th child of Ben R. and Mary Roth. She attended the country school located in the Roth neighborhood, known as Douglas and from there, graduated from 8th grade. Unlike any of her siblings, she was determined to continue her education by attending Wayland High School, graduating in 1946. Following graduation, she attended a summer course at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, IA, earning a temporary teaching certificate and then taught one year of country school at Douglas, her alma mater.

She married Edwin Swartzendruber, a friend from church, on June 6, 1948, on the lawn of her parents’ home. They were married for 55 years and lived nearly their entire married life, farming in Henry County, Iowa. In 1982 they moved to Olds, Iowa where they resided until relocating to Hesston, Kansas in 2003. In 1980, Lucille opened the Coffee Cup Café in Olds, Iowa, and remained in the restaurant business for 14 years until her retirement in 1994. Lucille and Edwin were lifetime members of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church where they were involved in numerous activities and leadership positions. Following Edwin’s passing in 2003, Lucille continued to be active at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, Kansas. Lucille and Edwin were blessed with 3 daughters: Connie Sue (married to David Ganger) Elkhart, Indiana, Donna Jean (married to Dick Swartzendruber) Wellman, Iowa and Debra Ann (married to Clark Roth) Hesston, Kansas. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, all eight of her siblings, and two infant grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her three daughters, 7 grandchildren: Michael Ganger, Amy Drayfahl, Kip Ganger, Rachel S. Miller, Alex Roth, Eyan Roth, Garrett Roth. And 14 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Carson, Halle, Oliver, Cannon, Sadie, Cade, Hannah, Ames, Emmitt, Preston, Treyton, Lucy, Kollyns. She was known as Aunt Lucille to forty-four nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 11, 2023 at 10:30 am at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, Kansas. The service will be live streamed at www.whitestonemc.com

Burial will take place at 9:00am at the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Wayland, Iowa on November 25, 2023 followed by a time to greet the family at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Fellowship Hall from 9:30 – 11:00 am.

 </figure>Lucille Elizabeth (Roth) Swartzendruber was born on May 25, 1929 in the family home near Wayland, Iowa and died on September 24, 2023 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, Kansas. Lucille was the 9th child of Ben R. and Mary Roth. She attended the country school located in the Roth neighborhood, known as Douglas and from there, graduated from 8th grade. Unlike any of her siblings, she was determined to continue her education by attending Wayland High School, graduating in 1946. Following graduation, she attended a summer course at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, IA, earning a temporary teaching certificate and then taught one year of country school at Douglas, her alma mater.She married Edwin Swartzendruber, a friend from church, on June 6, 1948, on the lawn of her parents’ home. They were married for 55 years and lived nearly their entire married life, farming in Henry County, Iowa. In 1982 they moved to Olds, Iowa where they resided until relocating to Hesston, Kansas in 2003. In 1980, Lucille opened the Coffee Cup Café in Olds, Iowa, and remained in the restaurant business for 14 years until her retirement in 1994. Lucille and Edwin were lifetime members of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church where they were involved in numerous activities and leadership positions. Following Edwin’s passing in 2003, Lucille continued to be active at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, Kansas. Lucille and Edwin were blessed with 3 daughters: Connie Sue (married to David Ganger) Elkhart, Indiana, Donna Jean (married to Dick Swartzendruber) Wellman, Iowa and Debra Ann (married to Clark Roth) Hesston, Kansas. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, all eight of her siblings, and two infant grandchildren. Clifford L. and Delores A. Collier are coming home to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas. 

They will be interred on October 5, 2023. They spent their early years in Kansas. Clifford with his side of the Family in Hutchinson where he graduated from St John's Military Academy. Delores with her Prater side of the family in Salina where she graduated from Salina High School. Clifford joined the Marines after High School graduation and was in the Korean War. Delores started studies in Teletypewriter Operator. 

They were married in Salina in 1953 at Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church while Clifford was on a very short leave from service. They lived in a few places around our beautiful United States and also lived in a few different countries with Clifford's careers. 

They retired to the Pacific Northwest in Issaquah, Washington, where they owned a home since 1976. They are survived by 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Virgil Duane Owen was born on December 12, 1930 in Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born to eternal life on September 19, 2023.&nbsp; Today is a sad day for our family. Dad's commitment and devotion to our mother, family, country, and Catholic faith were unshakable and inspiring. Dad never knew a stranger. His trust, integrity, humility and great work ethic were taught to his children and grandchildren.&nbsp; These were his fundamental beliefs.&nbsp; Dad started life as a 2 1/2 month premature baby during a raging blizzard at his aunt and uncle's farm in Randall, Kansas.&nbsp; His Aunt Nellie delivered him.&nbsp; He was a tiny 2 1/2 lb baby. The family managed to keep him alive with constant care.&nbsp; After 6 weeks he weighed 4 lbs dressed.&nbsp; ...Truly a miracle...&nbsp; Dad was proud to serve our country in the Air Force during the Korean War.&nbsp; He also enjoyed being in the Knights of Columbus 4th degree.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie for almost 69 years.&nbsp; His surviving children are Mary (Mike) Ruhl, Diane (Gary) Cortner, JoAnn (Danny) Burt, and John (Julie) Owen; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, other family and friends.&nbsp; May he rest in peace...&nbsp; We love you dad, grandpa, uncle and friend.&nbsp; Father in heaven, protect and welcome Virgil into your heavenly home.

Robert (Bob) J. Scheideman, age 84, of Ellinwood, Kansas passed away on September 22, 2023 at Medicalodges in Great Bend, Kansas.

Bob was born June 30, 1939 to Elmer and Ameila Scheideman in La Crosse, Kansas. Elmer and Ameila had four children together. Bob was the third oldest of his four siblings.

Bob lived in La Crosse for all his childhood. After high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Airforce. After serving in the Airforce, Bob returned home to La Crosse. Upon returning home, Bob started working for his father as a truck driver.

Bob welcomed three daughters during his first marriage to Charlotte Burton. They welcomed their first daughter, Julie Scheideman on November 15, 1964. Robin Scheideman was born a few years later on June 17, 1969. Their youngest daughter, Patsy Kline was born on December 8,1973.

After Bob’s marriage to Charlotte, he moved to Phillipsburg, Kansas for work and this is where he eventually met the love of his life, Mary Rozean Scheideman.

On August 30, 1979, Bob and Mary were married in Norton, Kansas. When Bob married Mary, she had two children, which Bob helped raise. Milissa Rhoades was born on June 16, 1968. Brian Scheideman is the youngest son of Mary and he was born August 19, 1975. Bob was an astounding father to all five children.

After Bob and Mary were married, they moved to Ellinwood, Kansas in 1980 for career opportunities.Bob enjoyed being a truck driver because he could explore the countryside. He drove truck for fifty-five years. Eventually, Bob started working for Clear Creek in 1980 and continued his career with Clear Creek until he eventually retired in 1993.

After retirement, Bob enjoyed woodworking and making gifts for his family. He would often travel to the Rozean Family Farm in Norton, Kansas with Mary. Bob enjoyed working alongside his brother-in-law, John Rozean and his wife Mary.

Bob loved to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. They always knew he was in the crowd because he was the loudest one cheering. Bob also loved fishing with his son Brian and his son-in law, Mike. He enjoyed attending auctions and collecting trinkets.In his free time, Bob was entertained by word searches and sitting outside under his favorite tree with Mary. Most mornings you could find Bob at the local Zip Stop in Ellinwood enjoying a hot cup of coffee. Bob was loving, supportive, generous, and caring to all.

Connie Sue Locke, 75, of Topeka, Kansas and born March 5, 1948, at Hutchinson, Kansas, died Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. &nbsp;Connie was the daughter of Lorie and Maxine Locke and grew up at Arlington, Kansas.

Connie graduated from the eighth grade at Arlington Grade School, attended Arlington High School her freshman year and graduated from Fairfield High School, Langdon, Kansas in the class of 1966.

After graduating from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting, Connie started her career in October 1970 as fiscal officer at the Marshall County Welfare Department in Marysville, Kansas. &nbsp;In August 1972, she accepted an accountant position with the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services in Topeka. &nbsp;She worked in the SRS Finance Division for 19 years.

In May, 1989, Connie received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems from Washburn University, Topeka. &nbsp;In 1991, she began work with a team developing the KsCares computer system for SRS work programs. &nbsp;After the KsCares project was completed in 1994, she accepted a position as applications programmer/analyst with SRS-Information Technology Systems. &nbsp;Connie worked 20 years for ITS mostly developing systems for SRS Division of Children and Family Services later named the Kansas Department of Children and Families. &nbsp;She retired on April 1, 2014.

In 2011, Connie was recognized at a statehouse ceremony by Governor Sam Brownback for 40 years of service to the State of Kansas and was one of three graduates from the same high school, Fairfield High School, whose service totaled 120 years – including Connie’s sister Loreen and Kenneth Davidson, Hutchinson.

Connie loved sports and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. &nbsp;In 2008, she fulfilled a dream to see Yankee Stadium, the “house that Ruth built”, in New York City, with her brother Mark and nephew Loren.

Connie was an avid KU Jayhawks fan, especially KU basketball, holding season tickets for several decades. &nbsp;Being an accountant she could accurately quote many KU statistics.

Connie is survived by her brother Mark and Darlene Locke, and their family, son Timothy Locke, son Robert Locke and Nikki Stewart, their children Xander, Lesli and Natali Locke, all of Manhattan, &nbsp;Mark and Darlene’s daughter Charlene Rutherford, Gardner, Kansas and her children, sons Ryan Forrest and Brandon Rutherford, both living in Texas and daughters Rachel and Alyssa Rutherford, Gardner, Mark and Darlene’s son Wayne and Heather Pendarvis, their daughters Faith and Skye, all of Hutchinson and their son Wesley Pendarvis, Texas. &nbsp;Connie is also survived by her sister Loreen Locke McMillan and her son Loren and Susan McMillan and their five-month-old son Huxley, all of Topeka.

A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. &nbsp;A beside-the-grave service will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Kansas, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach of Abbyville officiating.

Connie Sue Locke |1948-2023|

Ranald Gene Miller, 78, of South Hutchinson, KS, died September 20, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS. He was born March 4, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Edgar and Etta Marie(Yates) Miller.

Ranald attended schools in Partridge and Hutchinson. Enlisting in the United States Army in 1962 serving until 1973, earning medals in the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. Following his military career Ranald graduated from Hutchinson Community College. He then worked for the United States Post Office retiring in 2003. Ranald enjoyed all things hot rods, K-State sports, walking and anything his children and grandchildren were involved in . He was also a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. More than anything he loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren, always laughing and joking.

On March 11, 1966, Ranald married Ursula Wahl in Sandhofen, West Germany. They shared 57 years of marriage together.

He is survived by: wife, Ursula Miller, South Hutchinson; daughter, Claudia Holland, Pennsylvania, son, Ranald Miller, Jr., Iowa; daughters, Patches Meadows (Lyndon), South Hutchinson, Diana Krull (Jonathan),Missouri; twelve grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Jamie Prichard; brothers, Edgar Miller, Melvin Lacoe, and Brad Miller, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ranald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Pearce.

Memorial service will be 10 am Friday, September 29, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with ministers Steve Hildebrand and Wayne Dewindt officiating. He was born March 4, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Edgar and Etta Marie(Yates) Miller.Ranald attended schools in Partridge and Hutchinson. Enlisting in the United States Army in 1962 serving until 1973, earning medals in the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. Following his military career Ranald graduated from Hutchinson Community College. He then worked for the United States Post Office retiring in 2003. Ranald enjoyed all things hot rods, K-State sports, walking and anything his children and grandchildren were involved in . He was also a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. More than anything he loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren, always laughing and joking.On March 11, 1966, Ranald married Ursula Wahl in Sandhofen, West Germany. They shared 57 years of marriage together.He is survived by: wife, Ursula Miller, South Hutchinson; daughter, Claudia Holland, Pennsylvania, son, Ranald Miller, Jr., Iowa; daughters, Patches Meadows (Lyndon), South Hutchinson, Diana Krull (Jonathan),Missouri; twelve grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Jamie Prichard; brothers, Edgar Miller, Melvin Lacoe, and Brad Miller, nieces, nephews, and cousins.Ranald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Pearce.Memorial service will be 10 am Friday, September 29, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary, with ministers Steve Hildebrand and Wayne Dewindt officiating. Robert D. ‘Bob’ Garvey, Jr., 64, of Delhi, CA, died September 22, 2023, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab, Hutchinson. He was born September 9, 1959, Mount Pilot, NC, to Robert Clark Sr and Elenore (Palmer) Garvey.

Bob studied gas turbine technology at California State University, Sacramento. Following college, he enjoyed working as a small engine repairman. Bob was a United States Army veteran. He was a loving and caring brother, grandfather, and friend to many. Bob enjoyed helping people, especially if they were going through a hard time.

In 1990, he married Sybil Caswell Butler, they shared 31 years of marriage before her passing on January 26, 2021.

Bob is survived by his: step-daughter, Marie (Tim) Herring, Atwater, CA, and three other step-children; granddaughter, Kristin Butler, Merced, CA; great-grandsons, Daniel and Jonathan Butler, Merced; sisters, Kelly Buchanan, Clovis, CA, and Vickie Clement, Citrus Heights, CA; one niece and nephew; and numerous friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Cremation has taken place; memorial service will be at a later date in California.

Phyllis D. Dodge, 71, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, KS. &nbsp;She was born December 23, 1951, in Hutchinson, KS to Verle R. and Beulah L. (Green) Hall.

Phyllis graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969 and worked for Kroger as a cashier and later as an accounting clerk for over 20 years. On August 12, 1972, Phyllis married Larry E. Dodge in Hutchinson. &nbsp;She graduated from Sidney's Hairdressing College and attended Baptist Bible College in Missouri. &nbsp;Phyllis enjoyed reading, gardening and genealogy.

Phyllis is preceded by her parents; husband, Larry; and sisters, Elaine Atkinson and Lynette Smith.

She is survived by her son, Matthew (Jaime) Dodge and daughter, Chelle Dodge; two sisters, Sheryl Lord and Joyce Gibbs; five grandchildren, Colten Dodge, Devon Dodge, Caitlin (Trey) Bishop, Jordan (Marisa) Dodge and Caileigh Dodge; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Felecia Faye Richey, Tysin Reed Weinley, Bentley Michael Miller, and Baby Richey. All four of our precious loved ones got to walk the stairway to heaven hand in hand. They were called home on September 16, 2023.&nbsp;

Felecia (Tator) was born on December 16, 1991 in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Peabody Burns High School in Peabody, Kansas. After meeting her husband, Jason Richey Jr., she resided in Haysville, Kansas. Felecia was a mother, daughter, wife, sister, and so much more. She was a dedicated Kansas City Chiefs fan, enjoyed photography, being at the race track with her family and friends, going to concerts, and listening to a good thunderstorm. Most importantly, Felecia enjoyed being a mother and doing anything it took to keep her children happy. Felecia is survived by her dog Ellie, husband Jason Richey Jr., son Grayson Richey, mother Karla Armstrong, father Kipton Pohlman and wife Lana Pohlman, sister Cheyenne Young, sister Brandy Pierce, other siblings, grandparents, many family and friends.&nbsp;

Tysin (Hashbrown) was born on June 16, 2010 in Wichita, Kansas. He attended 8th grade in Haysville, Kansas, where he also resided. Tysin was a son, brother, grandson, and much more. He enjoyed all things dirt bikes and racing, playing video games, and spending time with his brothers and sisters. Tysin is survived by his father Zakory Weinley, step father Jason Richey Jr., sisters Rylee and Paezleigh Weinley, brother Grason Richey, grandparents, and other family and friends.&nbsp;

Bentley was born on August 28, 2013 in Wichita, Kansas. He attended 5th grade in Haysville, Kansas, where he also resided. Bentley was a son, brother, grandson, and much more. Much like his brother, he also enjoyed dirt bikes and racing, playing video games, and spending time with his brothers. Bentley is survived by his father Steve Miller, step father Jason Richey Jr., brother Grason Richey, grandparents, and many other family and friends.&nbsp;

James A. Casey 65, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his Newton residence. He was born February 2, 1958 in Newton, Kansas to James and Sonjia (Tharp) Casey. &nbsp;On October 22, 1983 he married Cindy Sue Weerts at Newton and she survives of the home.

James was a longtime local HVAC technician working for several local firms including Denny's Heating and Cooling. He enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed family time at Eastlake and Marion. He was a avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following his beloved Kansas City Chiefs. James enjoyed fixing things around the house and helping others. &nbsp;His greatest joy was being a loving husband, father and grandfather and being their for his family however he could in times of need.

He is survived by his wife Cindy of the home, Mother Sonja Goering, &nbsp;step-father Jim Goering, son Aaron (Tiffany) Casey daughters Jaime Casey and her husband Chris Perales, Kristy Hermstein and her husband Jeremy Crites, two brothers Pat Casey and Dennis Casey and three sister Maureen Ray, Sue Casey and Darlene Chastain. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren.

On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, Shirley Y. (Wedel) Warner, loving wife and mother to three children, passed away at age 79.

Shirley was born on May 15, 1944 in Moundridge, Kansas to Elmer and Lucinda (Schultz) Wedel. Shirley was married to Verle Warner for 52 years until his passing in 2013. She had a career in Banking and working for the State of Kansas until she retired in 2006.

Throughout Shirley’s life, she was an amazing baker, known for her delicious pies, and made amazing food, had a beautiful talent for embroidering keepsake tea towels and baby blankets for her children and grandchildren. Shirley’s grandchildren were her greatest joys. She really found a joy watching sports, especially Royal’s Baseball, KU and WSU Basketball, she could talk sports with her family and enjoyed every minute of it. Shirley was a member and very active in her Church, The Walton United Methodist Church. She would look forward and have weekly lunch dates with girlfriends from work and church to catch up with them and pray with them.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Verle Warner; parents, Elmer and Lucinda Wedel; and one grandchild, Emma Lee Warner. She is survived by her children, Sandy (Daniel) O’Rear, Colorado Springs, CO, Colleen (Tom) Chopp, New Cambria, KS and Gary (Carla) Warner, Halstead, KS; her grandchildren, AJ (Kacy) Warner, Sara (Noelle) San Souci, Ryan (Trevor) Cole, Rebekah McLaughlin, Jordan O’Rear, Mattie (Austin) Cross and Elsie Warner. Shirley Y. (Wedel) Warner |1944-2023|

Bruce Austin Green, 74, died on September 19, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born April 18, 1949, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Fred and Geneva (Carpenter) Green.

Bruce was a graduate of Nickerson High School in 1967. He was a truck driver and a union member of Teamsters Local #41. Bruce drove for Dillons and Yellow Freight for many years. In retirement he worked for the State testing for CDL Licenses. He was also a member of the American Truck Historical Society and Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.

On September 1, 2007, Bruce married Madaline Rose Burns in Hutchinson. They shared 16 years together.

He is survived by: wife, Madaline Green, Hutchinson; sons, Timothy Green, Wichita, Christian Green, Gurnee, Illinois, Troy Parks, Goddard; daughter, Carol Graham, Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Bruce was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother Michael Green and sister Geneva Annell Reece. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

He was born April 18, 1949, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Fred and Geneva (Carpenter) Green.Bruce was a graduate of Nickerson High School in 1967. He was a truck driver and a union member of Teamsters Local #41. Bruce drove for Dillons and Yellow Freight for many years. In retirement he worked for the State testing for CDL Licenses. He was also a member of the American Truck Historical Society and Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.On September 1, 2007, Bruce married Madaline Rose Burns in Hutchinson. They shared 16 years together.He is survived by: wife, Madaline Green, Hutchinson; sons, Timothy Green, Wichita, Christian Green, Gurnee, Illinois, Troy Parks, Goddard; daughter, Carol Graham, Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Bruce was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother Michael Green and sister Geneva Annell Reece. Charles “Chuck” Franklin Easdon, 89, died September 17, 2023, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. He was born December 20, 1933, in Perryton, Texas, to Frank and Sarah (Thomas) Easdon.

On September 16, 1953, Chuck entered the United States Air Force. He served until September 15, 1957, including time in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

Chuck was a union member sheet metal worker. He loved anything to do with cars including working on them and attending car shows. In the 1960’s he and several friends enjoyed using CB Radios. Chuck loved spending time with his grandchildren.

On November 3, 1956, he married Dixie Lee McCarthy, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They shared 66 years of marriage before she passed away on August 29, 2023.

Chuck is survived by: children, Jerry (Judi) Easdon of Hollister, MO, Paula Sue (Terry) Endicott of Broken Arrow, OK, Jess (Kim) Easdon of Hutchinson; son-in-law, Steve (Vickie) Douglas of Broken Arrow, OK; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren plus scores of bonus children.

He was preceded in death by his: parents; wife; daughter, Pam Douglas; and granddaughter, Hannah Easdon.

A private graveside service will be held in Fairlawn Burial Park. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Charles “Chuck” Franklin Easdon |1933-2023|

Patricia “Pat” L. Nippert, 71, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in Manhattan, KS.&nbsp; Pat was a lifelong Reading Specialist for multiple educational grade levels and retired from McPherson EMS.

Pat was born on September 26, 1951, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Gail Edward and Marjorie Emma (Jenetzky) Stauffer.&nbsp; She graduated from Wichita North High School, McPherson College (BS), and Wichita State University (MS).&nbsp; On December 18, 1971, Pat was united in marriage to Ward A. Nippert in Wichita, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two children, Jesse and Heather.

She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was the librarian and treasurer for the Ruth Heimer DWF.&nbsp; She was also a member of Kansas Reading Association, KSEMS Association, and Kansas Good Sam’s where she was the treasurer of the state organization.&nbsp; She volunteered at Save N Share, McPherson Museum, and McPherson Emergency Medical Service (prior to having a paid position).

Survivors include: her loving husband of 51 years, Ward Nippert of Manhattan, KS; son, Jesse (Anna) Nippert of Wamego, KS; daughter, Heather (Daniel) Dannahower of Fort Collins, CO; six grandchildren, Kalea Nippert, Miah Dannahower, Kyra Nippert, William Dannahower, Lucia Nippert, and Livia Nippert; and a brother, James Stauffer of Elkhorn, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A time of remembrance (come &amp; go) will take place from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a time of sharing occurring at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 2, at the First Christian Church, McPherson, with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.&nbsp;

Robert Lynn “Bob” Loutzenhiser, 78, died September 18, 2023, at his home. &nbsp;He was born April 6, 1945, in Lyons, to Robert Ansel and Virginia (Poland) Loutzenhiser.

Robert was known as Robert, Lynn, or Bob, depending on your relationship with him. &nbsp;He graduated from Little River High School in 1964. &nbsp;Robert was a talented high school baseball pitcher, who could pitch with either arm. &nbsp;Scouts came to watch this amazing athlete. &nbsp;However, this was during the time of the Vietnam War, and Robert was drafted into the United States Army. &nbsp;During his service, Robert was shot down in enemy lines, and safely hid until he could be found by American soldiers. &nbsp;For his heroism, he was awarded a purple heart. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Upon returning to Kansas, he worked as a machinist for LMC- Lyons Manufacturing Company. After retirement, Robert enjoyed attending the NJCAA basketball tournament in Hutchinson, and cheering on the Hutchinson Junior College basketball and baseball team.&nbsp;

On June 20, 1965, he married Carolyn June Heim, in Mitchell, KS. &nbsp;She died July 14, 2012, after they shared 47 years of marriage.

Robert is survived by: &nbsp;daughter, Lynette Casey (Rick); son, Bryan Loutzenhiser (Jennifer Jackson), all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Makayla, Drew, and Katie; two great-granddaughters; and a sister-in-law, Mary Heim of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his parents; brother, Larry Loutzenhiser; and brother-in-law, Fred Heim.

Graveside service will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, 821 N. Grand, Lyons. &nbsp;Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. &nbsp;Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Verna Heibert Classen was born on July 28, 1932 in Meade, Kansas.&nbsp; She was the youngest child of Ben and Lizzie Heibert, her brothers were Ernest and Marvin.

Verna’s early childhood was spent on the farm where her father raised crops.&nbsp; She went to a small country school, where she learned English because she only knew low-German.&nbsp; Verna accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was 10.

Eventually they moved to the McPherson area where Verna finished grade school and junior high.&nbsp; For high school, Verna attended Meade Bible Academy, and those years were remembered with fond memories.&nbsp; She graduated in 1951.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Verna met Wilmer Classen, her future husband, while attending Meade Bible Academy.&nbsp; Verna later moved back with her parents.&nbsp; They wrote letters and had occasional telephone calls.&nbsp;&nbsp; Verna remembers well, their first date, they went to Hutchinson Fair and they rode on the Old Mill ride.&nbsp; Little did Verna realize that she would be attending Hutchinson Fair for decades after that first date.

Wilmer and Verna were engaged at Christmas time in 1953 and were married the following March of 1954.&nbsp; They moved for the first years of their marriage while Wilmer finished his 1 W service.&nbsp; These were hard years for Verna because she had never been that far away from family and friends, but they made lasting friendships during those years.&nbsp;

After 1 W service, Verna and Wilmer moved to the Kansas City area for Wilmer to attend nursing and anesthesia school.&nbsp; Verna supported Wilmer through school by cleaning area businesses and working at Russell Stover’s on the factory line putting the specific swirls on the chocolate to identify the centers.

Wilmer graduated from nursing school and they moved to Newton, Kansas where they spent the rest of their years.&nbsp; Wilmer and Verna had five children, a set of twins, Carl and Carol, who went to heaven shortly after they were prematurely born, Sharon (Matt) Schroder of Littleton, Colorado, Diane (George) Wingert of Kansas City, Kansas and Michael (Karen) Classen of Lebo, Kansas.

Verna was a wonderful, caring and compassionate mother and grandmother.&nbsp; She was vey generous and giving in everything that she did.&nbsp; Verna was a talented baker, seamstress, and enjoyed needle work.&nbsp; Many of you were recipients of her talented work, either with her cookies or peppernut baking, her zwieback and vernika.&nbsp; Verna also did incredible embroidery work and enjoyed making tea towels and quilts.&nbsp;

Verna leaves behind her 5 grandchildren: &nbsp;Jackson Wingert, Claire Wingert Dudley, Sarah and Josh Schroeder, Grant Harrison and many cherished friends and extended family members.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Koerner Heights Church with Pastor Dave Froese presiding.&nbsp; Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday evening.&nbsp; Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery Newton, Kansas

Kathy Diane Whitcher, 72, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023.

She was born on April 20, 1951, in Geneva, Nebraska to Robert and Mary Erb, the first of three siblings with Jim and Lori soon to follow. After spending her early life on the Nebraska farm between Shickley and Geneva, the Erbs made a pilgrimage to Hesston, Kansas when Kath was 14. She graduated from Hesston High School in 1969 and attended Hesston College.

At HC, she met an ornery guy from Texas, Sid Whitcher. The couple soon started dating even after Sid went back home to school at Texas A&amp;I (now Texas A&amp;M-Kingsville). They couldn’t be without each other and they were married at the Hesston Mennonite Church on November 27, 1971.

The couple enjoyed playing cards, softball and even bowling together before Rusty came along in February of 1977. Mindy followed in November of 1980 before Wendy surprised everyone in November of 1991. Before Wendy arrived, the family of four still played baseball and softball with Kathy deciding it was time to cut back when she, Sid, Rusty and Mindy had four different games in four different towns at the same time.

Under her eye, Water’s Edge had a successful dinner theater in a partnership with Hesston College, an endeavor which sadly went by the wayside.Her passion was horses and she organized many trail rides, from scavenger hunts to fundraiser for the Hopi Mission School in Kykotsmovi Village, AZ. She loved her horses from Charlie to Chet and loved to see people getting joy from riding as well.She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Erb and her husband Sid.Kathy is survived by her son, Rusty of Hesston, her daugthers, Mindy and Wendy (Terry) Whitchway of Wichita, her brother Jim (Jan) Erb of Hesston, sister Lori (John) Thimm of Beatrice, Nebraska, nephew Jesse (Rebecca) Erb, nieces Steph (Joe) Rheem, Kari (Beau) Cox, Abby (Shaun) Stover, Becca (Brandon) Kelley, several great nieces and nephews and much to her chagrin, several grand-cats.A memorial service will be held at a later date as her last wishes were to have her ashes scattered with horses.
