Estes Eugene Robinson, 76, died October 3, 2022, at his home. He was born August 22, 1946, in Tribbey, Oklahoma, to Calvin and Beulah (Baker) Robinson.&nbsp;

Estes attended Roosevelt High School in Oklahoma before enlisting in the United States Army. Following his service, he worked as a ranch hand, jockey, and in the meat packing industry for Yoder Meats, Winchester, Cal-Maine, and Tyson, where he retired. Estes belonged to the American Dairy Goat Association and the Miniature Horse Association.

On January 22, 1972, he married Virginia Ann Shea, in Hutchinson. They shared 50 years together.&nbsp;

Estes is survived by: his wife, Virginia Robinson, Hutchinson; daughters, Lisa Price (Terry), Watts, Oklahoma; Lynn Gomez (Jose), Hutchinson; Carrie Colpetzer (Max), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Ashlyn (Buck), Ember (Cody), Ashlee (Robby), Jadyn (Dominick), Stephy, Rylan, Alexis; great-grandchildren, Alice, Harvey, Harlie, Terrek; and brother, Johnny Robinson, Hobart, Oklahoma, and so many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Jim, Calvin Jr, Allen, Leroy, Alvis, and Carl Robinson; and sisters, Bessie Rodgers, Shirley Gather.

David Earl Harding passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 after battling prostate cancer. David was born in Isabel, to Earl Everett Harding and Margaret (Thompson) Harding on September 4, 1940. He grew up working on the family farm, hunting and fishing, participating in Scouts, and playing sports. He graduated from Isabel High School in 1958 and attended Pratt Junior College in Pratt, on a basketball scholarship, continuing his education at Kansas State University and Fort Hays State while working to put himself through school. David was recruited to the Kansas Highway Patrol in 1962 as one of the youngest troopers ever hired in the state. His patrol territories included Hutchison, Russell, and Hays, where his specialties were nabbing DUIs, car chases, and recovering stolen vehicles. David was introduced to Doris A. Jorns on a blind date in 1963 and they married later that year in August, 1963. A son, Reece, was born in 1966, David’s own “Little Trooper” who eventually grew up to serve on the Wichita city police force. David began a more than 30-year career with Farmers Insurance Group (FIG) in 1968 as a Claims Adjuster in Wichita. While living in Wichita, a daughter, Ann Marie, was born in 1971. Much like her father, she was in a hurry to arrive, and they almost didn’t make it to the hospital in time. In 1976, David accepted a promotion from FIG and moved the family to Denver, Colorado, and soon thereafter to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he worked as a Regional Budget Manager. In 1984, he was promoted to Branch Claims Manager in the Moore, Oklahoma FIG office. While in Moore, he also served as the FIG Liability Manager for the state of Oklahoma, tasked with managing a $500 million budget and supervising a team of over 100 employees. David retired from Farmers Insurance Group in 2003. In retirement, David enjoyed working on old cars, especially his 1949 Ford, taking care of his lawn and garden, eating out and grilling at home, watching football games, fishing, traveling to see his grandchildren- of whom he was always very proud! - and spending time with family and friends. David is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris, his son Reece Harding, daughter Ann Ashmon, son-in-law Scott Ashmon, grandchildren Gunnar and Elsa Ashmon, and his siblings Evelyn (Jack) Jessup, Shirley (Joe) Wood, Vicki (Dennis) Chinn, and Vernon (Mary Lou) Harding, as well as several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Natrona. Burial will follow at Turon Cemetery, Turon.

Peggy married John "Jay" Hightower in 1949 in Lindsay, Oklahama. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1977. In 1981, she then married Billy Smith in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2010. Peggy graduated from Lindsay High School in 1950. She worked in the cafeteria at Andover High School and then became an insurance agent with State Farm in Wichita. She enjoyed playing dominoes, cards and bingo, going to the casino and shopping. James E. Huddleston, 86, died on October 2, 2022, in Sedgwick, Kansas, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 3, 1936, the son of Jess and Della (Pittman) Huddleston.

On January 6, 1957, James married Sylvia Karen Ann Wilson. They later divorced and James remarried.

James joined the United States Marine Corp on September 2, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri. He would quickly climb the ranks and become Corporal. During his service he was stationed overseas in Okinawa and Iwo Jima Japan, during the Korean War.

James enjoyed fishing, camping and horseback riding. He coached his daughters in softball.

James was an independent paint contractor. Later he worked for Boeing. He retired from Boeing at 59 years of age. He went to work at the Best Western Airport Hotel and retired a second time, after 18 years.

James is survived by his daughters, Connie Stout and Cindy Martindale. He had 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great greatgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by both of his wives, his brother, Harold and his parents.

Following James’ wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held shortly at the American Legion in Sedgwick. His ashes will be strewn out over the Walnut River at his favorite place.

Joshua Aaron Ribble, 42, died on September 30, 2022, at NMCHealth in Newton.

He was born on April 1, 1980, in Belleville, IL, the son of Dale and Caroline (Foat) Ribble. He attended Newton Bible Christian School, Berean Academy and Parkview Christian School in Lincoln, NE, where he graduated from with the class of 1998. Josh would later attend Butler Community College.

On June 17, 2000, Josh was united in marriage to Jaci Smith in Newton. The couple celebrated 22 years of marriage this year.

For the past 15 years Josh was employed as grind shop lead at Harlow Aerostructures in Wichita.

Josh attended the Newton Christian Church in Newton. For several years Josh and Jaci lovingly opened their home and fostered children.

Josh enjoyed attending Chloe and Caity’s dance recitals and taking recital videos. Josh loved photography and had a gift for capturing beautiful scenes – though his favorite photos usually involved his family. When he wasn’t creating videos or taking photos you could find him playing computer games with his girls or fixing computers.

Josh is survived by his wife, Jaci Ribble; daughters, Chloe and Caity Ribble; parents, Dale and Caroline (Foat) Ribble; brothers, Jon Ribble and Dan Ribble; sisters, Raychel Hurdle and Beth Ann Bennett; and numerous other friends and family members.

Patricia S. “Pat” Scheck, age 82, passed away October 2, 2022 at Diversicare of Sedgwick, Sedgwick.  She was born on July 26, 1940 at Anthony, the daughter of Grant E. and Maxine D. (Frank) Martin. 

 Pat was a resident at Diversicare of Sedgwick, having recently relocated from Legend of Hutchinson.  She was formerly a resident of Macksville, from 1961 to 2019.  She was a 1958 graduate of Attica High School and then attended one year at Pratt Community Junior College.  She worked several jobs over the years, including as a waitress at the Char-Burg in Pratt, a homemaker, a bookkeeper for A &amp; S Repair in Macksville, a librarian at the Macksville City Library, a CNA at Leisure Homestead in St. John, and a salesclerk at ALCO in Larned.  She retired in 2005. 

 On November 28, 1959 she married Linus F. Scheck at Pratt.  He preceded her in death on May 20, 2019.  Her memberships included, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Belpre.  She enjoyed reading books, scrapbooking, counted cross-stitching, latch-hooking, playing the piano, and loved playing cards. 

 Survivors include three sons, John L. Scheck, Wichita, Jeffery J. Scheck (Angela), Belpre, Jay A. Scheck, Great Bend; a daughter, Julie K. Scheck (Bernadette Romero), Wichita; a brother, Robert Martin (Mary), Eureka; a sister, Joyce Thomas, Hennessey, OK; two grandchildren, Andrew Scheck (Kate) and Cody Rosenhamer (Reagan); three great-grandchildren, Jacelyn Scheck, Kole Scheck, and Kylee Scheck; and one great-grandchild on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wallace Martin; and a brother-in-law, Eldon Thomas. 

 Visitation will be on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 1-7 PM in the Minnis Chapel, Macksville, with the family present from 5-7 PM.  Rosary/Vigil service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2022 in the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belpre.

Carol was born in Sullivan, Indiana on January 18, 1938, a daughter of Dorothy (Bennett) and Guy Godfrey. Carol attended Sullivan grade schools, elementary school and graduated from Sullivan High School, Sullivan, Indiana in 1956. Through the years carol worked for Sandstone Heights in Little River. Carol enjoyed her birds and deer, dogs, cats, all her farm animals, puzzles, cooking, crocheting and spending time with friends and family. Carol S. Godfrey was united in marriage to James A. Teeter on June 3, 1995 at their home in rural Marquette. She is survived by her son, Mike Teeter, of Marquette; her sister Betty Peach. Margaret Ann Darrah Sheets, of McPherson, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Cedars House, McPherson.

Margaret, daughter of Andrew J. and Lydia (Prosser) Darrah, was born on July 27, 1929, in the McPherson Hospital and lived her entire life in McPherson. She attended the McPherson public schools and McPherson College, where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education. She enjoyed her two years of teaching at the Groveland School and one year at Mitchell School. She was a lifetime member of the Congregational Church.

Margaret met her husband, William J “Bill” Sheets, in 7th grade, when they both played clarinet in the school band. From then on they were inseparable and married on August 12, 1950, in the Congregational Church, McPherson. There were two children born of this marriage, John “Brent” born January 31, 1952, and Mary Margaret born March 4, 1954. She became a stay-at-home mom, but was also active in PTA, Congregational Sunday School, 20th Century, Progressive Literature, Domestic Art, Chapter EU of PEO, and was a life member of Hospital Auxiliary. 

Margaret spent several years volunteering at her children’s school as Room Mother, as well as Den Mother for the Scouts. A friend asked if she and Bill would open her home for a student of the Experiment in International Living. They agreed and this experience led to an interesting lifelong friendship with a student from Thailand. Wipapan quickly became a much loved member of the family and is still keeping contact with her “American family”. They also hosted another group from Mexico.

Margaret was able to give her mother much attention while Lydia lived at the Friends Inn in downtown McPherson and later when she entered the Cedars Care Home on East Kansas. She went daily to the Cedars to give her mother help and saw the need for such a facility. This led her to become an active member on the Cedars Board where she served for a number of years.

After that, she and Bill enjoyed many traveling experiences and spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her flowers and gardening, her dogs, and spending time with her friends and family. After she lost her eye sight, she loved listening to her audio books and music. She was able to cope with several health issues, including diabetes and loss of eye sight, which later required she and Bill moving to the Cedars Assisted Living. After Bills passing she transferred to the Cedars Health Care and she established many friendships with fellow residents while living there.

Margaret passed peacefully under the care of Kindred Hospice at Cedars Health Care, 805 N Maxwell, McPherson. She is survived by her son Brent and daughter-in-law Debbie Sheets of McPherson; her daughter Mary and son-in-law Brad Spilman of Shawnee. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Kim Veer (Matt) Melville, SK Canada; Timothy “T.J.” Dearing (Lindsay) McPherson; Tommy Dearing (Amie) Maryville, TN; Chad Spilman (Alisa) Littleton, CO; Andy Spilman (Sophia) Blanchard, OK; Allison Wade (Vince) Overland Park; and fourteen great grandchildren, Garrett and Kendall (Veer), Trace and Teague (Dearing), Jacqueline and Olivia (Dearing), Jake, Braeden, Caleb and Olivia (Spilman), Sam, Addie and Ellla (Spilman), and Lydia (Wade).

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Sheets; and her sister, Mary Jane Ashen-Brenner.

A Religious Service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at First Christian Church (DOC) in McPherson, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. The family asks that you please join them following the service for a meal at the church.

A private family burial will take place at McPherson Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Roger Maris Loesch was born Dec. 2, 1960 at Coldwater. His parents were Jack A. Loesch and Margaret Ann (Maris) Loesch. She preceded him in death. 

Roger's early childhood was spent in Protection, then later in Munjor. He attended Munjor Grade School and graduated from Thomas More Prep in Hays.

 Roger had a love of the great outdoors, animals and books. He also loved his husky, Dakota.  He had many jobs throughout his life and they were usually outdoors. Since early childhood, Roger was a seeker of knowledge. Even though he loved the internet, he still preferred his books. 

Roger is survived by his father; stepmother; two sisters; his children; grandchildren; aunts; uncles and many cousins.

Clayton “Dale” Yoder, 94, of Hesston, died on September 29, 2022, surrounded by family.

Dale was born on May 11, 1928, to Orpha (Johnston) and Lawrence Yoder at home near Windom. The youngest of 3 children, Dale attended Westfield Country School. He went to high school for 3 years in McPherson and 1 year at Hesston Academy, graduating in 1946. Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 and was a Seabee stationed in Guam and the Philippines for 4 years. He was very proud of his service to his country.

Dale married Vera Beyler on July 27, 1956. They celebrated 64 years together. They raised their family in their country home in rural McPherson County where they lived for 56 years. 

He is survived by his five children, Ron (Anne) Yoder of Silver Lake, KS, Jan (Tony) Beckler of Beaver Crossing, NE, Cinda (Bill) Cubbage of Hesston, Judy (Kenton) Graber of Lecompton, and Dean (Tanya) Yoder of Coldwater. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Also surviving him is sister-in-law Alta (Will) Rempel of Meade. 

Dale loved camping with his family, playing sports with his kids and grandkids and giving sled rides in the snow behind the tractor. He made backstops and carpet ball tables for his kids which are still enjoyed to this day. Dale worked for 30 years as a welder at the NCRA Refinery in McPherson. After retirement, Dale kept busy volunteering, and attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events and activities. 

Dale and Vera were proud and loyal supporters of the Inman Teutons and were named Grand Marshall of the Inman parade in 2013. For seven years, Dale and Vera hosted the Inman first grade field trip to their farm. The couple hosted many community and church events around their campfire. Dale made a barrel train in his retirement, and he enjoyed giving rides to his grandchildren. You would often see Dale at community events and parades giving barrel train rides. Dale was always willing to help family, friends, neighbors, or anyone who needed a hand. Dale was a long-time member of South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.

He was a Charter Member of&nbsp;Journey@McPherson&nbsp;Church and most recently attended Hesston Mennonite Church. Preceding him in death were his wife Vera, his parents Orpha &amp;amp; Lawrence Yoder, sister Vesta (Bob) Giltner, brother Gene (Dorothy) Yoder, mother and father-in-law, Christ and Clara Beyler, sister-in-law Velma (Alvin) Weaver, brother-in-law Victor (Elsie) Beyler, and brother-in-law Clayton (Gladys) Beyler.

Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, October 8th , 2022, at 10:00 am at Monitor Church of the Brethren Cemetery, McPherson County. Friends and family are welcome to bring lawn chairs. Lunch will follow service.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Harlan Beal died October 3, 2022.&nbsp; He was born in Haven, on December 28, 1939, to Herbert Beal Sr. and Nola (Bumgartner) Beal.&nbsp; Harlan’s family soon moved to Hutchinson where he lived and was active in the community for the remainder of his 82 years.

He was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1958.&nbsp; In 1960. Harlan married classmate, Judy Morrow, in the chapel of the First Christian Church, Hutchinson.&nbsp; Together they shared 62 years of marriage while raising their two children, Lori and Brad.

For over thirty years, Harlan managed grocery stores in Hutchinson and South Hutchinson:&nbsp; Hart’s IGA Foodliner, Risley’s IGA, Harper’s IGA, and Dave’s IGA.&nbsp; He later managed Underground Vaults and Storage.&nbsp; Harlan served as a military policeman and radio operator in the Kansas Army National Guard.&nbsp; He was a Kansas State High School referee and a professional umpire for the USSSA Sports Association.&nbsp; Harlan was also able to enjoy almost 20 years of retirement from USD 308, after working as head custodian at Faris and Wiley schools.

He was a charter member of the South Hutchinson Commercial Club, the South Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.

Harlan coached, played and replayed baseball games from his first little league team in grade school through much of his adult life.&nbsp; He was the proud owner of shelves of baseball, horseshoe, golf, and bowling trophies. When Harlan wasn’t playing a sport or officiating a game, he could often be found in the bleachers at local sporting events.

Harlan was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; brother, Herb ‘Sonny’ Beal; sisters, Betty Burnett and Beverly LaClair; and numerous half and step brothers and sisters.

He is survived by:&nbsp; his wife Judy; son, Brad Beal; daughter, Lori Meis; and grandchildren, Sheldon, Haley and Hannah Beal.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October, 8, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary with the Reverend Mike Rose officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the McPherson City Cemetery, 1601 Cemetery Road, McPherson.&nbsp; Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team.&nbsp; Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary.

Harlan Leroy Beal  |1939-2022|  

Dr.
Paul Willis Hoffman, 90, of McPherson, passed away in the early morning
hours of September 30, 2022.&nbsp; Paul was born on May 14, 1932, to Ralph and
Tressie (Heeter) Hoffman and grew up at the family farm near Roann, IN.

Paul
met his future wife, Joanna Begerow, during a youth event in Florida.&nbsp;
While in college, Paul and Joan fell in love and were married on April 11,
1954.&nbsp; Together, they raised their four children, Deborah, Daniel, John,
and James.

Paul
obtained degrees from Gilead HS, He spent his entire life in service and was
known as a pastor, educator, administrator, philosopher, theologian, counselor,
pilot, farmer, athlete, and coach.&nbsp; Paul was loved and respected by
many.&nbsp; His priorities were family relationships, service to others, giving
to causes, and forgiving.

Paul
served as a pastor for the Church of the Brethren before returning to
Manchester College (now University) as a Dean of Students for 14 years.&nbsp;
In 1976, he moved his family to Kansas to become the President at McPherson College.&nbsp;
He was passionate about his work at McPherson College and spent 20 years
serving as the president, retiring in 1996.

Paul
is survived by his wife, Joanna Begerow Hoffman of McPherson; son-in-law, John
Wagoner of McPherson; son, Dan and Dawn (Robbins) Hoffman of McPherson; son,
John and Sandra (Sharp) Hoffman of McPherson; son, Jim and Lisa (Lee) Hoffman
of McPherson; a sister, Elizabeth Bauer of North Manchester, IN; 12
grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Paul
was preceded in death by daughter, Deb Wagoner; grandson, Samuel Dean Hoffman;
great-granddaughter, Ophelia (Hoffman) Santillan; brother, John Hoffman; and
sister, Miriam Bunnel.

The
family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, October 7, 2022,
at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; The memorial service will be held at
2:00 PM, Saturday, October 8, at McPherson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Chris
Whitacre &amp; Rev. Kathryn Whitacre officiating.&nbsp; The final resting place
will be at the Monitor Cemetery.

Dr. Paul Willis Hoffman  |1932-2022|  

Douglas Dwain “Doug” Nichols, 64, died Monday, October 3, 2022, at Diversicare of Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born May 1, 1958, in Hutchinson, to Lawrence “Larry” and Karen Elizabeth (Cannon) Nichols.

Doug graduated from Nickerson High school in 1976.&nbsp; He worked for many years as a machinist, working at Master Machine in South Hutchinson before it closed. Doug enjoyed racing motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and listening to music, especially Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks and Lynyrd Skynyrd.&nbsp; His greatest pride and joy were his nieces, nephews and great-niece.&nbsp;

Doug faced life challenges, until he found The Omega Project, in McPherson.&nbsp; It was there that he received hope, strength, and a new lifestyle and friends, to help him with the valleys in his life.

Doug is survived by:&nbsp; his mother, Karen Nichols of South Hutchinson; sisters, Debra Kitts (Craig), and Lori Dimmitt (Robert), all of Hutchinson; nieces and nephews, Tyler Kitts (Samantha), Michelle Updegrove (Jeff), Zane Dimmitt, and Kyli Dimmitt; great-niece, Oaklee Mae Kitts; and beloved canine companion, Lucy.

Private graveside service will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.&nbsp; Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.

Mary Louise (Carpenter) Simmering, born February 20, 1929, in Davenport, Oklahoma, grew up in rural Oklahoma communities before graduating from Garber, OK High School in 1946. Upon graduating from Central State University in Edmond, OK, she worked at the YWCA in Oklahoma City.&nbsp;

In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, James Virgil Simmering.&nbsp; Following his graduation from medical school, they moved to Fort Knox, Kentucky as part of the U.S. Army Medical Corps.&nbsp; Mary Lou, Virgil, and their three children then settled in Wynnewood, OK and moved to Norman, OK in 1965, where she lived until 2012.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mary Lou was a talented seamstress, knitter, cook, baker, avid golfer, pianist, and master bridge player.&nbsp; She loved spending time in Colorado and indulging her six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was predeceased by two sisters, one brother, one son, her husband of 60 years, and her great-granddaughter.&nbsp;

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Millham (Steve); son, John Simmering (Molly Gilmore); six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She passed away peacefully on September 28, 2022, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

Harold Vance (Satch) Sales passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Pine Village, Moundridge. Harold was born in Peoria, Illinois on July 29, 1927, the son of the Late Marie (Burch) Sales and Hamer Vance Sales.

Harold attended the Roxbury grade school and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1945. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, where he served his church through the years working with the youth group and in many other capacities.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class in WWII earning the Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Medal.

Harold worked for Westgate Greenland as a roustabout for several years before starting with the National Cooperative Refinery Association (NCRA now CHS) in August of 1953 and retired as an electrician after 36 years of service for the company.

Harold enjoyed sports, antique cars, camping and traveling with his family. But most of all, Harold loved his family and was so welcoming to new family members through life’s experiences. He loved his Saturday morning breakfasts with Brandon and Bryan and Sundays after church with his sister Carolyn and her husband, Jay. The Kansas City Royals and Chiefs were a must to watch.

Harold V. Sales was united in marriage to Lorna Marilyn Tolle on June 9, 1951, at Roxbury, Kansas. She died January 3, 2005. Harold was united in marriage to Martha Juhnke Kaufman on December 25, 2007, in McPherson. She died July 31, 2019.

He is survived by son Kevin (Brenda) Sales of McPherson; Grandsons: Brandon Sales, Bryan Sales, Gene Wilson (Lindsay), and Jeff (Sara) Wilson all of McPherson;. Great Grandchildren: Kelsey Wilson of Shawnee, Hannah Wilson, Emma Wilson, Drew Wilson and Riley Gard all of McPherson; sister Carolyn (Jay) Herren, McPherson; stepdaughters Ginny (Paul) Sprague of McPherson and Mary (Steve) Heath of Dighton; Step-Granddaughters: Christy (Jeff) Tate of Madison, AL, Tracey (Joe) Pitman of Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Heath (fiance’ Derrick Kraft) of Meade; Step Great Grandchildren: Logan Tate, Harlan and Hiett Pitman; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ollie May Corbitt Sales; his first wife, Marilyn Sales; second wife, Martha Kaufman; a son, Kurtis Sales; sisters Omega “Mick” Alford, Gertrude Heckard, and Janet Sales; brothers Ralph Sales and Bill Archer; and daughter-in-law Jeanene Jennings Sales.

Brad’s life began on September 23, 1954, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. He is the son of Gilbert and Phyllis (Allen) Turk. 

Brad is a 1973 graduate of Marion High School, and he served his country in the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS South Carolina, where he was the captain’s personal barber. &nbsp;Brad was an original plank owner of the USS South Carolina. 

In 1979, he was united in marriage to Peggy Lurz and later was united in marriage to Luretta Hewitt on October 22, 1999. Brad was employed by Cessna (Raytheon) Aircraft as a welder and was a welding instructor for Flint Hills Tech. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, remodeling his home, working in the yard, welding projects, including log splitters, many dollies, trailers and even a cherry picker.&nbsp; Brad most especially enjoyed being a Papa to &nbsp;his grandchildren. 

Brad is survived by his wife Luretta of Marion, his mother Phyllis (Jess) Erickson of Pilsen; children Jeffrey Turk of Marion, Ted (Samantha) Turk of Marion, Christina Eveland of Wichita, Johnie ( Angela) Evans of Topeka, and Kasey (Dustin) Burson of Wichita; grandchildren Melvin, Brandon, Christian, Easton, Jaxson, Archie, Dalton, Baileigh, Brye, Lexus , Abby and Dakota Shae; siblings Teresa of Arizona, Gary of Baldwin, Tony of St. Louis, Bill of Sedgwick, and Shane of Kansas City.&nbsp;

Ilo’s life began on April 25, 1935, in rural Wauneta, Nebraska. She is the daughter of Frank and Florence (Adamson) Maris. 

Ilo was a graduate of Wauneta High School and was united in marriage to Wayne Mosiman on April 25, 1960, at the Eden Missionary Church in Wauneta. Ilo was a beloved member of the Whitewater Community Church and participated in the Missionary Circle. She enjoyed and grew in her women’s Bible study in Furley. Ilo decorated cakes and did lots of babysitting for area families. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of 62 years, Wayne Mosiman of Valley Center; her children LeAnn ( Richard) Enns of Hillsboro, Lonnie (Andrea) Mosiman of Valley Center and Larry Mosiman of Bel Aire; grandchildren Colson and Allison Retherford, Mandi (Chris) Ridenour, Penny (Ryan) Foster and Sara (Austin) McAvoy; twelve great grandchildren, her brother Leland Maris of Nebraska and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Jon's life began on January 20, 1967, in Dallas, Oregon. He is the son of Orley and Karen (Garrison)Friesen. 

Jon is a graduate of Hillsboro High School. He was united in marriage to Dawn Jenkins on September 7, 1999, in Salina. Jon was employed at Pizza Hut in Herington for many years and loved his job. He truly never met a stranger. Jon had a heart of gold and helped wherever he could. He had many routines, starting every morning with his coffee and bible. 

If Jon had your phone number, you were likely to get a text every morning and evening, and on Saturdays he would always call his dad and his sister Kim. Spending time with his wife, watching football, K-State being his favorite, game shows, and playing with his nephews were some of his favorite things to do. Most importantly, Jon loved Jesus and would often ask questions about scriptures he didn't understand. He participated in many different Special Olympic events, basketball being his favorite. He took pride in wearing his cowboys’ boots, hat and looking sharp. 

Jon is survived by his wife Dawn Friesen of Herington, Father Orley Friesen of Oregon, mother-in-law Susan Buchwald of Herington, father-in-law Tom (Jean) Jenkins of New Mexico, sister Kimberly (Scott) Simms of Oregon, sister-in-law Kristi (Kurt) Michaelson of Oklahoma, nieces and nephews Crystal Beynon, Becky Connolly, Kaleb Michaelson, and Kyle Michaelson and four great nieces and nephews. Jon passed away at his home on Thursday September 29, 2022. He is preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and a sister.

Larry James "Larbear" Ryan, 25, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was born on May 17, 1997 in Grand Junction, Colorado to James Ross Ryan and Rhonda Jean Palmer. Larry graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 2015. He worked as a mechanic in the oil and gas industry in Colorado before moving to Pratt in 2018. Once in Pratt he worked as a mechanic at Premier Trading and Transportation, Lanterman Motors/Pratt City Ford and most recently at Kanza Coop . He was a former member of Open Door Ministry, FFA and the Car Club (Domestic Disturbance). He enjoyed tractors, trucks, mechanical work, two-steppin and hanging out with friends. He was selfless and would do anything for anyone. He always had a smile on his face and a laugh that won't be forgotten. He is survived by his mother, Rhonda (Scott Tallent) Palmer of Grand Junction, Colorado; brothers, Justin (Mandy) Ryan of Montrose, Colorado and Lee (Heather) Ryan of Pratt; nieces, Kindall Ryan and Braydon Ryan both of Colorado, and Lacee McCartney of Pratt; nephew, Richard (Charisma) Ryan of Colorado and Keagon Hayden of Pratt; best friend, Kyle (Ambrea) Hayden of Pratt; friend, Chad "Shroom" Cosby of Pratt; and many other friends that loved him dearly. Loretta married Ira Merle Mabie on August 23, 1960 in Eureka. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2011. Loretta worked as a CNA and Ward Clerk for many years. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, reading, square dancing, playing dominos and yahtzee, fishing, camping, children's activities, sports and rodeos. She is survived by her children, Diana Mabie of Isabel, Lisa (Tim) Gray of Arkansas City, Tony (Kay Woods) Mabie of San Antonio, Texas and Regina (Virgil) Shields of Derby; brother, Robert (Kristi) Jamison of Salina; sisters, Peggy Scullawl of Dodge City and Beverly (Bill) Becker of Isabel; grandchildren, Krista (Chris) Davidson, Justin (Madi) Trott, Brandie (Jacob) Smith, Heaven Mabie, Preston Mabie, Cory Shields, Cortney Shields, Tyler (Krystal) Beat, Pete Shields and Angie (Chris) Stump; and 13 great-grandchildren with another on the way. Richard Joseph Rohling, 74, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 20, 1948 in Nashville to Joseph B. and Lucy H. (Ebencamp) Rohling. Richard married Diane Marcile (Ross) Rohling on July 14, 1984 in Haviland. They were married for 38 years. Richard graduated from Cunningham High School. He attended two years at Pratt Junior College. He worked for Northern Natural Gas Company for 42 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and "Friday Afternoon Retirement Club". He enjoyed working, being outside, yardwork, animals, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Diane of Pratt; children, Larry (Stephanie) Rohling of Gardner, Jennifer (Matt) Badsky of Silver Lake, Heather (Danny) Lynch of Pratt and Chris (Lori) Rohling of Pratt; sisters, Marlene (Larry) Miller of Garden City, JoAnn (Kenny) Clouse of Lawrence and Janet (Terry) Schield of Hutchinson; and grandchildren, Lainey and Luke Rohling, Bailey and Bryce Badsky, Sammie and Jessie Lynch, and Kynlee and Brooklyn Rohling. Joan “Jo-Ann” Marie Reichenberger, 72, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on October 1st at her home in McPherson. Joan was a retired teacher and most recently taught 8th&nbsp;grade English at Prairie Hills Middle School.&nbsp;

Joan was born on November 15, 1949, in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Leo F. and Virginia E. (White) Tschechtelin.&nbsp; She attended Curé of Ars Catholic School in Leawood, graduated from Bishop-Miege High School (Roeland Park), and St. Mary of the Plains College (Dodge City), and earned a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Wichita State University (Wichita).&nbsp;&nbsp;

On July 7, 1973, Joan was united in marriage to Donald James Reichenberger, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO.&nbsp;This union was blessed with three children, Jennifer, Brian, and Sarah.

Joan held many accomplishments professionally, but she would be the first to tell you she was most proud of her role as mother and grandmother. She loved her family fiercely and was always eager to celebrate all the milestones and occasions, no matter how big or small! She loved celebrating life and really treasured the gift of motherhood.

She was well known for her contagious energy and great sense of humor, but it is her devout and unwavering faith that those closest will remember about her.&nbsp;

Joan was a passionate leader in the community, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Altar Society, Parish Finance Committee, PEO Chapter AY, and Progressive Literature Club.&nbsp; She served on the McPherson Hospital Board of Directors and was an officer on the St. Joseph School Board and the McPherson USD 418 School Board.&nbsp;

Survivors include: her loving husband, Don; children, Jennifer (Dr. Michael) McGinnis of Overland Park, Brian Reichenberger of Plano, TX, and Sarah (Mark) Provino of Breckenridge, CO; two siblings, Dr. James (Susan) Tschechtelin and Carol Halstead, both&nbsp;of The Villages, FL; four grandchildren, Lucas, Isabella “Izzy”, Molly, and Kate; and many more family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson, with Father Benjamin Shockey officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;Final resting place will be in the mausoleum at McPherson Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.&nbsp;

Dolores Jennings, 92, of Little River, passed away October 1, 2022, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River. She was born December 19, 1929, in Belleville, the daughter of Perry T. and Elizabeth Shaver Rashleigh. 

Dolores has resided in Little River since 1947, briefly moving to Lyons in 2008 and back to Little River in December of 2021. She graduated from Lincolnville High School, Lincolnville, with the class of 1947. Dolores attended McPherson College and received her teaching certificate from Emporia State Teacher’s College. 

She was a former teacher at the Odessa Township School and worked briefly at the Home State Bank in Little River. Dolores was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Little River, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, Domestic Arts Club, Special Tuesday Breakfast Group, and Bridge Club. She was a census volunteer and served on the Election Board. 

On December 25, 1949, Dolores was united in marriage with William “Lloyd” Jennings in Little River. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Max DaMetz; brother, Perry L. Rashleigh; and two sisters, Betty Reilly and Barbara Irvine. 

Dolores is survived by her four children, Linda DaMetz of Olathe, Sheryl Carlson and husband Verle of Lyons, Janet Lord and husband Murray of Olathe, and David Jennings and wife Shelly of Wichita; sister, Phyllis Denison of Santa Barbara, CA; and eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, Erin Deneke and husband Tim and their children, Grace, Sam and Emily; Ryan DaMetz and wife Kristen and children, Bennett and Simon; Brandon Carlson and wife Sarah and their children, Peyton and Kenzy; Derek Carlson and wife Andrea and their children, Patrick and Cooper; Blake Carlson and wife Raqual and their child, Vayda; Alex Lord and his partner Rebecca Tanner; Eric Lord; Hannah Weston and husband Cody and their children, Joel and James; Seth Jennings and wife Lauren; Luke Jennings; Hallie Jennings; and Jayden Williams. 

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, Little River, with Pastor Anna Borders officiating. Burial will follow at the Bean Memorial Cemetery, Little River.
