Alma Louise Markley, 94, passed away October 27, 2022, in Hutchinson, KS. She was born August 16, 1928, in Dover, the daughter of Mancell and Pearl (Lister) Akers. Alma resided in Topeka, most of her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James ‘Jay’ Don Markley of 72 years, and a daughter, Loretta.
Alma was a homemaker most of her life which included taking care of other children. She was known as an excellent baker and famous chocolate cake maker. Alma was always up to playing cards and games at any time.
She is survived by: her son, Jay Markley and wife Judy of Denton, TX; daughter, Connie Lyle of Hutchinson; grandchildren: Kelli Miller, Matthew Markley, David Markley, and Kristen Troop; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandsons.
No public memorial service is planned. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, at a later date.
