Teresa’s life began on August 8, 1928, near Fredonia, on the family farm. She is the daughter of Charles and Beulah (McNett) Love. The family moved around quite a bit during the depression and returned to Kansas when Teresa was 17.
She worked briefly for Southwestern Bell before marrying Valerian H. Tajchman on June 8, 1963, in Wichita. Teresa was a faithful and strong Catholic. She was involved in Altar Society and Right to Life groups.
She is survived by her children Vickie (Steve) Jirak of Ramona, Jacqueline (Greg) Jirak of Oakley, Clay (Candace) Tajchman of Ramona and Scott (Danielle) Tajchman of Hutchinson; grandchildren Raschelle ( Christopher) Bruck, Seth (Gina) Jirak, Jacob Jirak, Elias Jirak, Ethan (Maggie) Jirak, Heidi Jirak, Emma ( Isaac) Follett, Leo Jirak, Pius Jirak, Ivan Jirak, Chelsea (Thieen) Antoszyk, Samantha (Chris ) Wilson, Noah Tajchman, Adi Tajchman, Mila Tajchman, Dominic Tajchman, Zelie Tajchman, Bernadette Tajchman, and Pia Tajchman; great grandchildren Grace, Lydia, Lucy, Vincent, Liam, Xavier, Cecelia, Nancie, Sebastian, Casper, Miriam, Isabelle, Kash, Hayden and Arabella; sister Joan Barton, sister in law Evelyn Tajchman, brother in law Herman Strafuss and several nieces and nephews.
Teresa passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Forest Hawkins, Faye Lawson, Winnie Simon, Frieda Glover, Bill Love, Ben Love and grandchildren Lindsay and Felicity Jirak.
Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. Her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3rd at 10 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest in Pilsen Cemetery. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.
