Russell Hindle Pope, 88, went from his earthly home to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2023.&nbsp; He was born November 1, 1934, in Kansas City, MO, to Thomas Hindle Pope and Flora Virginia (Brock) Pope.

Russell was a 1953 graduate of Northeast High School, Kansas City, MO, and a 1957 graduate of the University of Kansas.&nbsp; He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kansas City, MO, to obtain a teaching certificate.

Russell worked as a civil engineer at Borton, Inc., Hutchinson, KS, retiring in 1996.&nbsp; He enjoyed the fellowship of his brothers and sisters in Christ at Hutchinson Gospel Chapel.&nbsp; Russell especially enjoyed gardening and nature.&nbsp; Trees and irises were among his favorite natural interests.&nbsp; He was also fond of bird watching.

On June 27, 1959, Russell married Golda Marie Walker, in Overland Park, KS.&nbsp; They shared over 63 years of marriage.

He is survived by:&nbsp; his wife, Golda Pope of Hutchinson, KS; children, Mary (John) Denny of Hutchinson, KS, Rachel (Paul) Wakefield of Hutchinson, KS, Matthew (Elaine) Pope of Hutchinson, KS, Ellen (David) Stebbings of Attleboro, MA, James (Wendy) Pope of Hutchinson, KS, and Steve (Kara) Pope of Colorado Springs, CO; 19 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.&nbsp; He was blessed and grateful to have such a large and loving family.&nbsp; Russell was preceded in death by his parents.

Herbert Dietrich “Herb” Ruebke, 81, died March 6, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born May 6, 1941, in rural Pretty Prairie, to Henry H. and Agnes Marie (Krehbiel) Ruebke.

Herb graduated from Pretty Prairie High School.&nbsp; He worked as a machinist for Cessna, before retiring from Mega Manufacturing. Herb grew up on the family farm, helping his parents and siblings farm and operate the family business, Ruebke Orchard. &nbsp;After retirement, he ran his own lawn mowing business, continued to garden, and watched his favorite sports teams; KU basketball and Kansas City Chiefs. Herb also enjoyed training his dogs.&nbsp; He was an active member of Crestview Bible Church for over 40 years.

On June 4, 1977, Herb married Bonnie (Hess) Tylicki, at First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson.

Herb is survived by:&nbsp; his wife of almost 46 years, Bonnie of Hutchinson; sons, Troy Ruebke (Joni) of Manhattan, Brent Ruebke (Peggy) of Nickerson, and Jim Tylicki (Becky) of Sylvia; sisters, Ruth Stucky and Judith Lowdon (Corey); sister-in-law, Beatrice Ruebke; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved dog, Tonya Lee.

He was preceded in death by:&nbsp; his parents; brother, John Ruebke; brother-in-law, Bob Stucky; and nephews, Donald Ruebke and Douglas Stucky.

Thad was born on February 26, 1981, in McPherson, KS, the son of Richard and Thelma Ann (Riley) McCloskey.&nbsp; He graduated from McPherson High School in 1999.&nbsp;

She was an executive secretary for years for some of the most prominent businesses in Meridian. She worked for Tommy Webb and Paul Broadhead, to name a few. She eventually retired as a Medical Transcriber at St. Joesph Hospital and was a volunteer at Rush hospital for many years after.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents Robert A. Kidd, Doris Ruth Hall, her brothers Daniel Kidd (Dean) and Joseph Kidd. Three of her sons also preceded her in death, John Gilmer (Judy), Marvin Vining (Sherry), and Daniel Vining. She’s survived by her daughters Lisa (Gilmer) Johnson (Mike) and Robyn (Gilmer) Fritz-Paredes (Arturo Paredes). She is also survived by her brother, Robert Kidd (Martha) their children Steven Kidd (Merideth), Stacy Kidd (Scott), her 4 grandchildren, Michael Johnson (Paula), Danielle Minor Bedwell (Eric), Jordan Vining (Thomas Savell) and Jenna Vining (Cole Barnes), her 6 great grandchildren, Tyler Bedwell, Preston Bedwell, Pressley Bedwell, Hayes Bedwell, Lillian Savell and Jensen Savell.

Bobby ‘Bob’ Gene Perser, 84, went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village, Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; He was born October 31, 1938, to John and Mary (Miller) Perser, in Coffeyville, KS.

Bob served in the Army National Guard of Kansas.&nbsp; He moved to Hutchinson, KS, where he went to work for Firestone.&nbsp; Bob then worked as Service Manager at Ely’s GMC for many years. In 1986, he started Bob’s Truck Repair which he owned and operated until 2006.

Bob married Shirley A. Weiser on March 6, 1960.&nbsp; She passed away suddenly on January 31, 2002.&nbsp; On December 5, 2002, he married Mary Jo Rucker.&nbsp; She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Norman Perser and wife Molly of Hutchinson, KS; daughters, Treaza Perser Sovine and significant other Mike Blasi of Colwich, KS, and Melissa Perser Ehret and husband Wayne of Hutchinson, KS; step-daughter Pam Rucker Hoelscher and husband David of Bushton, KS; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Sunseri of Plymouth, MN.

Virginia was born on April 13, 1934, in Hamlet, NE, the daughter of Claude Montgomery and Eva Gladys (Boone) McMinn.&nbsp; She attended school in Hamlet and Wauneta, NE.&nbsp;

She married Harry Lantz of Hamlet in 1968, and they moved to Canton, KS.&nbsp; Harry died in 1978.&nbsp; On June 20, 1988, Virginia married Robert Densler in Miami, OK.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on December 8, 2003.

Charles “CE” Ford, 85 of Newton Kansas, went to be with the Lord on March 6th, 2023.

Charlie was born August 3, 1937, to Charles E. and Rose “Crandall” Ford in Marion County.

After High School, Charlie enlisted in the US Navy. Then after discharge moved to Marion KS, where he married and raised two sons. Charlie worked for the Rainbow Bread company and delivered bread throughout Marion County and was well known, liked and respected.

In 1976, the family moved to Newton, where Charlie worked for Excel Industries and Hesston Corporation, in Hesston Kansas. Charlie enjoyed construction, woodworking, and after retirement helped many friends and family with multiple projects. Charlie also worked part time at Kropf Lumber in Hesston Kansas.

During his retirement, he became a passionate lover of cats and would ensure that the neighborhood cats had food and shelter when needed.

Charlie was a loving father, husband, brother, and son. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, a strong work ethic, loyalty, honesty, dedication, and perseverance.

Charlie is survived by his Wife Pat “Dirks” Ford Hillsboro KS, sons, Lawrence Ray Ford and Roger Dale Ford, brother Duane “Keith” Ford and wife Jenni, Orange Park, FL, Stepdaughters Colleen and her husband Doug Weinbrenner, Hillsboro KS, Sheri Wilson and her wife Sue Varian, as well as many grandchildren and great grand children

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Rose Ford and infant sister.

Charles “CE” Ford |1937-2023|

Calvin “Lee” Mackey, 77, died March 6, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. He was born October 29, 1945, in Emporia, to Robert and Edith (Allen) Mackey.

Lee graduated from Stafford High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1969. Lee worked in the beef processing industry for 30 years before working as a salesman at Mackey &amp; Sons. He enjoyed painting, remodeling, yard work, and landscaping.

On May 16, 1971, Lee married Vickie Ann Morton, in Hutchinson. They shared over 50 years together.

He is survived by: his wife, Vickie Mackey, Hutchinson; son, Derek Mackey, Hutchinson; daughter, Tracy Mackey, Hutchinson; brother, Ken Mackey, Saffordville; and grandson, Evan Mackey, Cimarron.

Lee was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Shawn Mackey; brother, Albert Mackey; and sisters, Mary Showalter, Barbara Crackel, Carol Repfogel, and Shirley Mackey.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.

Tommy E. Bough, Sr., 71, died March 4, 2023, at Kingman.

He was born Feb. 7, 1952, at Kingman the son of Charlie and Iva Karnes Bough.&nbsp;&nbsp;A longtime resident of Kingman, he was a retired auto mechanic.

Tommy was formerly of the Kansas National Guard.

On&nbsp;&nbsp;January 29, 1974, he married Verna Foster.&nbsp;&nbsp;Other survivors include sons Tommy, Jr., Ben, Jason and Daniel; daughters Angela Bough and Andrea Wiebe; sisters Juanita Bosley, Sherry Upton, Evelyn Kackley, Sharon Gonzales, Margaret Merz, Alice Eagerton and Kathy Ewald; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was preceded in death by a son Jonathon; brothers Jr. Bough and Larry Bough;a Elsie Bosley; and a grandson Bannon.

Family services will be held at a later date.

Dinah L. Nelson, 75, died Monday, March 6, 2023 at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; She was born October 2, 1947 in Kansas to Roy D. and Louis Nelson.&nbsp;

Dinah is survived by her significant other, James Hearn of Hutchinson; her two children, Delsie Kuschinsky of Saginaw, MI and Donny Horn of Vilas, CO; and a brother, Roy Nelson.&nbsp;

Myrna Bernard, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2023, at Hospice House, in Hutchinson, KS. She was born January 10, 1938 in Paola, KS, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Dillard) Wilhoite. Myrna graduated from Paola High School and received her degree in nursing from Ft. Scott Mercy School of Nursing. She worked for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Hutchinson and as a home health nurse. On July 31, 1960, Myrna married Donald Lee Bernard in Paola. They raised their family in Hutchinson. She was a Mom of many hats. She was the neighborhood Mom and was involved in all of her daughter’s extracurricular activities such as drill team, girl scouts, tennis and dance. She was very kind, loving and a true nurturer and loved by all. She attended Second Missionary Baptist Church, Hutchinson. Myrna is survived by her two daughters, Dawn (William Howard) Clark and Lori Bernard-Wilprit; two sisters, Mamie Anderson and Roberta Young; four grandchildren, Amaris (Dee) Traylor, Richard Quentin-Lee Wilprit, William Andrew Clark and Halee (William) Wright; and four great grandchildren, Isaiah, Mylah, ZaNia and Heiryn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; six brothers, Fred Lee Jr., Robert, Jessie, Ernest, Delco and Noble Dean Wilhoite; two sisters, Martha Towns and Venice Greenwood. June Elnora Greathouse, was born March 18, 1930 in Nekoma, Kansas, to Onie and Nora (Baldwin) Mills. She passed away March 2, 2023, at the age of 92, in Hutchinson, KS.

She attended Nekoma grade school, La Crosse High School and Fort Hays, and was a graduate from Sterling College.

June began her teaching career in 1948 and continued for most of her life. She taught in Yoder and Nickerson Elementary as a kindergarten teacher for 32 years.

She married the love of her life, Jerry Greathouse, on January 29, 1956, in Nekoma KS during a blizzard. They were happily married for 45 years before his passing in 2001.

June is survived by her son, Rick (Valerie Avery) Greathouse, and daughter, Connie (Larry Flores) Johnson, grandson Justin Bright, and great grandchildren, Killian and Sawyer Bright.

She was a member of several local organizations, including Low Vision Group, Elliots Widowers Group and the Horticulture Club. She was a volunteer with RSVP tax, the rec commission and the horticulture club.

Lowell Larsen died on Wednesday,&nbsp;March 1, 2023, at St. Luke’s Living Center in Marion. He was born on the Larsen farm, north of Burns, Kansas on December 18, 1932, to William and Adelia M. (Ireland) Larsen. His paternal grandparents Jacob and H. Annie (Jorgensen) Larsen were Danish immigrants who homesteaded the farm and land in the late&nbsp;1870s. He lived on the Larsen farm until recently.

Lowell was a member of the Burns community&nbsp;his entire life. He was a 1950 graduate of Burns High School. Lowell was a livestock farmer with many interests. He was a ham radio operator and a private pilot who had a private airstrip at his farm. In the 1970’s he delivered private planes across the country. He was the Burns mail carrier for many years. Lowell did electrical work for area neighbors, helped at the hardware store, and helped his brother Clyde at his service station in Burns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Milton, Clyde, Ruth Aubuchon, and Florence Biehl, niece Leah Fay Larsen and nephew Timothy Larsen. He is survived by his cousins Jeraldine (Larsen) Sprouse of Santa Barbara, CA, A. Cordell Larsen of Andover, and Rose (Larsen) Decker of El Dorado, and his nieces and nephews Phyllis (Larsen)&nbsp;Ericson&nbsp;of Lincoln, NE, Bruce&nbsp;Larsen&nbsp;of Parsons, Milton&nbsp;Larsen&nbsp;of Gig Harbor, WA, Eric Larsen of Chicago, David Larsen of Wichita, Bill Biehl of&nbsp;Lenexa,&nbsp;and Bonnie ( Biehl) Bohn of Basehor, KS and&nbsp;his very special neighbors, the Jodi and Jim Bob Watkins family.&nbsp;

A celebration of Lowell’s life&nbsp;will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 a.m.&nbsp;at the&nbsp;Burns Community Church led by Pastor Jim Helzer.

Lowell Lee Larsen |1932-2023|

Clyde’s life began on November 27, 1925, on the family farm south of Latimer.&nbsp; He is the son of Theodore “T.W.” and Mae (McCann) Kasten. 

Clyde spent all his life in the Latimer area except three years when the family moved to Wakefield, KS.&nbsp; In 1942, they made a move back to the farm east of Latimer and started farming with his father. Clyde was united in marriage to Ardella Hanson on August 28, 1944, in White City. &nbsp;

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church serving as church chairman and Elder for many years. Clyde was the Highland Township Assessor and a Highland Township trustee for several years.&nbsp; He loved to play cards and dominoes and especially loved driving his John Deere Gator. 

Clyde is survived by his sons; Gary (Connie), of Manhattan, Wayne, of White City, Randy (Catherine), of Herington, and Richard (Darlene), of White City, his sister in law Barbara Tiede, his 10 grandchildren; Shanda (Jared) Wilson, Shawn (Lorri) Kasten, Shane (Melissa) Kasten, Shelly Woods, Kerry (Lacie) Kasten, Joshua Kasten, Betsy Kasten, Kyler (Tanna) Kasten, Kilynn (Zeb) Elliott, Kasey (Tanner) Anderson, great grandchildren; Lindsey and Luke Wilson, Grayson, Kaitlyn, and Addison Kasten, Jacob Kasten, Cutler and Kinsley Jo Kasten, Kamryn and Kreyton Anderson, Kymber, Kale, Koy and Keeley Kasten, Kannen, Kycen and Kohen Elliott; step grandchildren; Alicia (Michael) McDaniel, Brandon Mottl, Troy Dodd; and step great grandchildren Chasyn, Jaxyn and Zebadyah McDaniel.&nbsp;

Betty L. (Jones) Kaegi, 92, of South Hutchinson, died March 2, 2023, at Diversicare, in Hutchinson. She was born June 20, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Lloyd T. and Mabel C. (Smith) Jones.

Betty graduated from Burrton High School in 1948. She attended Crossroads Christian Church. Betty had a passion for teaching children Sunday School. She taught it for over 51 years. Betty enjoyed yard work and gardening. She planted a variety of plants, including: tomatoes, okra, and flowers.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

On June 20, 1951, she married Stuart Eugene Kaegi, in Wichita, KS. They shared over 63 years of marriage before his passing on September 12, 2014.

Betty is survived by: sons, Mike (Sheila) Kaegi, South Hutchinson, Tim (Marsha) Kaegi, rural Burrton, Mark Kaegi, South Hutchinson, and Clayton “Bud” Kaegi, rural Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Schrag, Overland Park; and brother, John Jones, Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, and sisters, Nita House and Shirley Jones.

Richard was born in LaCrosse, Kansas on August 13, 1941, a son of George Brown, Jr. and Dora (Schweitzer) Brown. Richard attended Danby Valley grade school, rural Brownell, Kansas and graduated from Brownell High School, Brownell, Kansas in 1959. Through the years Richard worked as a farmer, a foreman and supervisor for San Ore Construction, of McPherson, JH Shears as a superintendent of road construction, Hutchinson, Kansas, Farmland and CHS as a mechanic until he retired. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting, loved feeding his outdoor critters, and spending time with his friends and family, especially all his grandkids. Richard Brown was united in marriage to Carol Davis on June 1, 1963 in McCracken, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McCracken. This union was blessed with the birth of two children, Shelley and Gary. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carol Brown, of Hesston, Kansas; his children, Shelley Drassen and her husband Joe, of O'Fallen, Illinois and Gary Brown, of McPherson, Kansas; his sister Ann Chandley and her husband John, of Hutchinson, Kansas. Junior "JR" Ewing, 86, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home. He was born on October 16, 1936 in Council Grove to Guy and Fern (Rees) Ewing. JR married Donna (Brunner) Ewing on August 31, 1958 in Herington. She survives.

JR graduated from Herington High School in 1954. He worked as a conductor and brakeman for Rock Island Railroad for 48 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lions Club, Pilot Club Train and Meals on Wheels aiding a handicap friend as well as Rock Island Organization (BTF). He enjoyed doing yard work, playing with the dogs and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bowlby in Wichita, KS. 
Marylou grew up in the Mulvane United Methodist Church, graduated from 
Mulvane High School and attended Kansas State University. She married 
Stan Fallon in 1961 and had two children, Patrick and Kristi. The 
marriage ended in 1986. Marylou worked for the Osage County Chronicle, 
Mulvane News and retired from Boeing in 1999. In her retirement, she 
enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She worked at
 the Mulvane Senior Center, delivered Meals on Wheels, organized and 
managed the Old Settlers Day Program annually and worked on the Mulvane 
High School Annual Alumni Banquet always maintaining contact with her 
class from 1955. 
Marylou was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob 
Bowlby. Survivors include her children, Patrick (Elaine) Fallon and 
Kristi (Scott) Nicholson; grandchildren Kathryn Fallon, Rebecca Fallon,

Paulette is survived by:&nbsp; her husband of over 46 years, Ivan Schrock of South Hutchinson; daughters, Gail Estes (Tad), Linda Marsh, Susan Nolte (Clarence), Claire Foy (Mark), all of Hutchinson, and Kristine Schrock of Kansas City, MO; son, Eric Lainson of Enid, OK; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Donald Eugene Belden, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in Wichita. He was born on October 5, 1932 in Hutchinson to Hollie H and Osee A. (Davis) Belden. Donald married Merry Lou (Mitchell) Belden on June 6, 1954 in Iola, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2017.

Donald graduated from Dighton High School in 1950. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from Kansas University. He worked as an accountant for Pratt Feeders. He was a member of Pratt Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon and in the Choir. He was also a President and Member of Pratt Rotary Club and Green Valley Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, dancing, playing games, studying weather, KU Sports and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed flying and had his private pilot license.

He is survived by his children, Gregory Belden of Columbia, South Carolina and Nancy (Tracy) Drosselmeyer of Wichita; sister, Bettey (Rodney) Baeta of Cupertino, California; sisters in-law, Jorita Belden of Wichita and Susan Belden of Houston, Texas;&nbsp; granddaughters, Erin K. Donald married Merry Lou (Mitchell) Belden on June 6, 1954 in Iola, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2017.Donald graduated from Dighton High School in 1950. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from Kansas University. He worked as an accountant for Pratt Feeders. He was a member of Pratt Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon and in the Choir. He was also a President and Member of Pratt Rotary Club and Green Valley Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, dancing, playing games, studying weather, KU Sports and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed flying and had his private pilot license.He is survived by his children, Gregory Belden of Columbia, South Carolina and Nancy (Tracy) Drosselmeyer of Wichita; sister, Bettey (Rodney) Baeta of Cupertino, California; sisters in-law, Jorita Belden of Wichita and Susan Belden of Houston, Texas;&nbsp; granddaughters, Erin K. Harvey Elton Willis, 84, of Grapevine, TX, and Hutchinson, KS passed away on January 28, 2023. He was born to Alfretta Bogges and Denver Willis on April 12, 1938 in La Mesa Park, NM.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Alferetta and Denver Willis; his siblings, Van Willis, Raymond Willis, Edward Willis, Fred Willis, and Lorene Willis-Rolland; his former wives, Carol Sue Willis and Betty Jo Willis; and his daughter, Tara Lynn Willis.

Harvey is survived by his daughter, Shelly Willis-Hurst; grandchildren, Tiffanie and Tony Gonzalez, Jordan and Chera Hurst, and Kisa VanDyne.

He is also survived by great grandchildren, Angel, Emilie, Haylie Jo, Gabriel (Tripp) Gonzalez, Madalynn (Madee) and Axel Hurst and Carl VanDyne; his four legged friends, Harley and Lily and his niece, Denise Willis who was truly loved like a daughter.

Donna Jane Andes, 70, of Hillsboro, KS and formerly of Galva, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

Donna was born on January 25, 1953, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Clare M. and T. Madine (Brewer) Andes.&nbsp; She graduated from Galva High School in 1971.

She was a member of the Galva Christian Church.&nbsp; Donna enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and watching the game show, Wheel of Fortune.

Survivors include: four siblings, Sharon Likins (LeRoy) of McPherson, KS, Dave Andes (Sharon) of Galva, KS, Connie Stucky (Brad) of McPherson, KS, and Mark Andes of McPherson, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare &amp; Madine Andes.

Donna Jane Andes |1953-2023|

Jerome Dean Goering, 63, was born at Moundridge Mercy Hospital in Moundridge, KS on September 21, 1959 to Homer and Dorothy (Ewert) Goering. He went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2023.

Jerome was the third of six boys. As a boy, he enjoyed bicycles, motorcycles and swimming in the pond. He was a part of a Boy Scout Troop. He was a conscientious worker.

Jerome attended school in Moundridge and graduated from Moundridge High School in 1978. He was athletic. He enjoyed lifting weights, and he participated in football, basketball and track in high school. He held Moundridge High School’s pole vault record for approximately twenty years. Jerome also took many Industrial Arts classes in high school, including classes in small engines, welding, and woodworking.

He graduated from Bethel College in North Newton in 1982 with an Associate of Arts degree in Agriculture and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Religion. Jerome met Vicki Govan at Bethel College. She was his special friend and prayer partner for over 40 years.

As an adult, work continued to remain important to Jerome. After his college graduation, he served with Voice of Calvary Ministries in Jackson, MS from 1982-1984, working for the John Perkins Foundation.

Jerome’s places of employment, following his two years of mission work, included Skyline Homes in Halstead, KS, Vogts Construction in Newton and Tortilla King in Moundridge. His most recent employment was a custodian position at Newton High School for almost nine years. In his jobs, Jerome was able to multi-task and to show good attention to detail. He was known as a team player.

Jerome’s interests included missions, volunteering in prison ministry, and participating in Sunday School, Bible study groups and prayer groups. He sang in the KMMC (Kansas Mennonite Men’s’ Chorus) and in the church choir. He participated in Circles of McPherson County, and he enjoyed vegetable gardening.

His Christian faith was always important to him. Jerome was baptized at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge in 1976. He attended Eden Mennonite Church most of his life; he also attended the Church of Revival. Most recently, he attended Hopefield Church in rural Moundridge. He read his Bible faithfully and often carried it with him. He memorized a great deal of scripture. He prayed, often, for others. Jerome was known to be courteous, gracious and helpful. He expressed gratitude to others freely. Jerome especially loved Christmas carols; he chose some to be used at his memorial service.

Jerome is survived by his father, Homer Goering of Moundridge, KS, and five brothers – Vaughn Goering of Peabody, KS, Larry and Sarah Goering of McPherson, KS, Roy and Sheralyn Goering of Newton, KS, Ron and Cecilia Goering of Moundridge, KS , Sam and Marcia Goering of Moundridge, KS and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Goering, and his grandparents, Chris S. and Marie Goering and David P. and Lydia Ewert.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Eden Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Sue Wagler, 80, died on February 26, 2023, at Hospice House. She was
born June 7, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Gilbert and Alta (Schmidt)
Marteney.

Sue graduated
from Hutchinson High School in 1960, and then attended Hutchinson
Community College. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. Sue
enjoyed reading, puzzles, and spending time with friends. 


On January 26,
1963, she married Raymond J. Wagler, in Hutchinson. They shared 57
years before his passing on February 12, 2020.

Sue is survived
by: daughter, Cristie Wagler, Hutchinson; sons, Joel Wagler (Dara),
Lawrence, Jon Wagler, Eudora; grandson, Gabe Wagler, Lawrence; and
many nieces and cousins. 


She was preceded
in death by: her parents; husband; son, Linc Wagler; and brothers,
Leonard, Charles, and James Marteney.

Graveside service
will be 11 am Friday, March 10, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday
