On Thursday May, 11, 2023 Michelle Lea Thomas, 55, formerly of Hutchinson, KS., residing in Peoria, AZ, departed earth spiritually when called to heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born September 18, 1967 to Claudia and Willie Hairston. She was Mrs. Hairstons’ youngest child.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father Willie Hairston, Brother Tony Trotter, niece Meghan Butler and Cousin Kent Smith.
Surviving family includes mother Claudia Hairston, Hutchinson, KS. sisters Vonciel (Art) Trotter Hutchinson, and Josephine (Cory) Ford of Maize, KS. Her Aunt Yvonne Johnson, Hutchinson. Nephews Vorel (wife Jamie) Trotter and D.J., Washington who recruited her to live in the Phoenix, Az. Area. Left to mourn is a large group of nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention including Shannon Thomas whom she married January 04, 2007 at McPherson KS.
Michelle attended Hutch High and later enrolled at Hutchinson Community College where she received her nursing degree. She began a nursing career working in KS that took her to the state of WA and eventually the Phoenix, AZ., area.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 27, 2023 at Foundation of Life Ministries located 114 E 8th Ave. Hutchinson, KS.
