
Linda Sonneveldt (80) passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born in Grand Island, Nebraska to Otho and Blanche Means. She met her husband Peter Sonneveldt at a roller-skating rink in Lincoln, Nebraska and married there in 1965. Linda and Pete moved to St. Louis, Missouri to be near Linda’s sister, Sondra, in 1966. While in St. Louis Linda and Pete had their three children Debbie, Jeff and Julie before moving to Valley Center, Kansas in 1979. Linda worked as a pre-school teacher at the Methodist Church in Valley Center for more than 25 years, retiring in 2006. During this time Linda loved spending time with her family and attending all of her kids’ sporting and school events. When not spending time with family, she also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cross-stitch, knitting and embroidery.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Otho and Blanche Means; her brother, Wayne Means, and her spouse, Peter Sonneveldt.
She is survived by her sister, Sondra Mills; her children, Debbie Neuenswander married to Kevin, Jeff Sonneveldt married to Shannon and Julie Boese married to Tim; her grandchildren, Amanda Neuensmith married to Caleb, Kaylin Weltmer married to Chase, Beth Pearson married to Zach, Claire Neuenswander, Ethan Sonneveldt, Emma Boese, Thea Boese and Ava Boese.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday May 17 at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick Kansas.
