Leanna Louise Baker, 92, of Hutchinson, passed away September 5, 2024 at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. She was born March 20 1932, in Little River, KS to Levin Nathaniel Swenson and Myrtle Christine (Clay) Swenson.

Leanna worked at the Dillon’s bakery at 14th and Main and Northgate. She loved gospel, country, and bluegrass music, and performed in the “Baker Country” band, played in local nursing homes and retirement centers. Leanna also enjoyed RVing in her later years, spending several winters in Texas. She was of the Christian faith and attended various area churches.

Leanna is survived by her children: Cheryl Treinen of Auburn, Douglas Becker of Hutchinson, Kathie Wittorff (Larry) of Derby, Brad Becker (Jane Anne) of Derby; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; stepchildren, Ronnie, Darwin, Angela, Tom, Dayla; and many step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Debbie Goering; son in-laws, James Apps and Robert Treinen; stepson in-law, Duane Wright.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday, at Elliott Mortuary. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.

Nina Jean James, 77, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 7:40 a.m. &nbsp;She was born in Wichita, Kansas to parents Vernon and Ellen (Priddle) Sullivan.&nbsp; She was raised in the Valley Center area where she attended school, graduated and attended Wichita State. She was a lifelong resident of Branson, Missouri, worked as a LPN for the Hunkler Eye Clinic for cornea transplantation. &nbsp;She enjoyed watching movies such as James Bond and old Black and White Westerns. &nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her grandson Levi Pierce, parents Vernon &amp; Ellen Sullivan, brother, Jerry Sullivan, grandparents: The Priddles and The Sullivans and her aunt Eva. &nbsp;

Nina is survived by her uncle Harland Priddle of Oklahoma, children and their spouses: Eric &amp; Denise Townsley of Colorado Springs, Shawn Townsley of Kansas, grandchildren: Andrew &amp; Austin Townsley of Colorado Springs, great grandchildren: Elizabeth Townsley of Colorado Springs, Tristin and Tinley Townsley of Kansas City, Kansas.

Margaret Sue Ensz, 96, of Inman, KS, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, surrounded by family at Moundridge Manor.&nbsp;

Margaret was born on February 16, 1928, in Hesston, KS, the daughter of Jacob H. and Fannie E. (Yost) Dyck.&nbsp; On October 12, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage to Rueben Ensz in Hesston, KS.&nbsp; They were married 59 years prior to his passing on November 30, 2006.

Those left to cherish fond memories are four sons, Galen (Twyla) Ensz of Bonners Ferry, ID, Richard (Deanna) Ensz of Windom, KS, Keith (Linda) Ensz of Inman, KS, and Harlin (Laurie) Ensz of Inman, KS; son-in-law, Kenneth Koehn of Montezuma, KS; sister-in-law, Darlene Ensz of Manitoba, Canada; 21 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Karen Koehn; and six siblings, Harold Dyck, Neva Schmidt, Clifford Dyck, John Dyck, Velma Jantzen, and Kenneth Dyck.

Aaron Lee Eggers, 82, died September 3, 2024, at Good Samaritan in Hutchinson. He was born September 29, 1941, in Garden City, to Theodore Obodore and Della Gertrude (Herter) Eggers.

Aaron graduated from Salt City Business College, Hutchinson. He worked as an accountant/office manager for the now defunct, Betts Bakery from the late 60’s to the early 70’s, he then worked for KWCH channel 12 to the early 80’s, went back to Betts Bakery for a while, then became a realtor for Plaza Astle until retirement.

Bowling was Aaron’s passion, he loved to bowl and was a member of several bowling leagues. He also enjoyed doing carpentry and working with his hands.

On September 22, 1962, he married Phyllis Lorene McMullen, in Ellinwood. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, Todd and Heather Eggers; brother, Doug Eggers all of Hutchinson; 3 nieces and nephews; and 7 great- nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. A private family inurnment will take place in Lakin Comanche Cemetery. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Lillian H. Foster, 91, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Pine Village in Moundridge, Kansas with her son Jeff and his wife Brenda at her side.

Lillian (Lil) was born on October 29, 1932, in Shamrock, Oklahoma to Joe and Lillian Stokes (Lillian died not long after Lil was born, and she was later adopted and raised by the Downey family). Lillian moved with her family to McPherson in the late 30's where they lived south of McPherson in King City Township. There, she attended Victory country school and later graduated from McPherson High School in 1951.

While in high school, she met Wayne O. Foster, and they were later married on November 1, 1953 at the Methodist parsonage and enjoyed over 50 years together until Wayne's death on January 13, 2004. They were blessed with three sons: Michael, Jeffrey and Patrick.

Lillian was a long-time employee of Home State Bank &amp; Trust, working under four presidents: Dr. Walter W. Jones, Richard D. Nichols, Paul K. Ediger, and Ted Odle. Many long-time friendships were established during those years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Futurama Study Club and the MHS Class of 1951 Reunion Committee. Lillian enjoyed interior decorating and could make any room look beautiful. She also enjoyed fashion - shopping for clothes during her lunch hour was one of her favorite pastimes. Another important part of her life was her dogs - she and Wayne had many dogs over the years and each dog made an impact on both their lives. But most of all, family was the most important part of Lillian's life - her husband, their three sons and extended family were the greatest joy in her life. She will always be remembered for what a wonderful mother she was and the life she extended to each of her three children.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Foster and his wife, Brenda, of Andover, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Julie Foster of Salina, Kansas; four grandchildren: Brianna Quinley (Kevin and their son Kai) of Salina, Kansas, Cameron Smith (Shae and their son Ollie) of Aurora, Colorado, Nathan and Kaitlyn Fox of Wichita, Kansas; nephew, Joed Stokes and his wife, Susie, of Weatherford, Texas; niece, Deanna Dolloff of Wichita, Kansas; niece, Carol Foster Shepp (Jim) of Arcadia, California; and nephew, Richard Foster of Monrovia, California; and her long-time caregiver and friend, Judy Unruh (Dave) of rural McPherson, Kansas.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel W. and Edna C. (Prichard) Downey; husband, Wayne O. Foster; sons, Michael D. Foster (2001) and Patrick "Pat" Foster (2016); and siblings, Bill Stokes, Woodrow Downey, Virginia Starkey, and Judy Fearheiley.

The losses of her husband and two sons were extremely hard times for Lillian, but her strength and faith helped her move forward.

William E. “Bubba” Hunt Jr. 63, passed away on August 16, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS. He was born January 20, 1963, in Sterling, KS, the son of William E. and Brenda Joyce (Ibach) Hunt.

William graduated high school in Honolulu, Hawaii and was a general Laborer for an airplane manufacturing company. In 1979, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1982. On February 1, 1989, William married April Weber in Hutchinson, KS.

William enjoyed playing dominos, cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. Every evening, he would go and visit his neighbor having good conversations. William was an avid KC Chiefs fan and played fantasy football.

Survivors include his wife, April; children, Brandon W. Hunt, Alana M. Hunt, Jessica L. Avery,&nbsp;David E. Sinnett Jr, and Joshua B. Hunt; sisters, Connie Carithers and Theresa Andsinger;&nbsp;stepsiblings, Gary Barr, Michael Barr, Kathy Wright and Diane Barr; and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, LaDonna Sinnett; nephew, Caden Robert Avery, and a grandson, Cameron.

Graveside service inurnment will be 10:30 a.m. September 6, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4 th St, Hutchinson. There will be a gathering at the VFW after the service. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

William E. “Bubba” Hunt Jr. |1963-2024|

Edgar B. Banman, 92, passed away August 25, 2024 at Kidron Bethel Village, North Newton. He was born on February 22, 1932 in Goessel, Kansas, to Abe (A.J.) and Bertha (Epp) Banman. He grew up on the farm north of Goessel and graduated from Goessel High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Vinola Schroeder on August 29, 1953 at Tabor Mennonite Church.

Ed served at Menninger Foundation in Topeka in the 1-W alternative service program for two years.

Upon relocation to Newton, he worked for 32 years at Hesston Corporation, in the Parts Department and Materials Disposition before retiring in 1997. He was a charter member of Faith Mennonite Church and has remained a member there. He enjoyed camping, gardening, woodworking, bird-feeding, singing in the Kansas Men’s Chorus, remodeling, rebuilding vehicles, building custom log-splitters and many&nbsp;other things. He was a do-it-yourselfer who tackled any project, big or small, with a desire to learn and a determination to succeed.

He is survived by his wife, Vinola, of North Newton, and his children Cynthia Banman and Wendell (Yvonne) Banman of Newton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Debra Sue Giskie; siblings Mae Frey, Ruth Schmidt, Earl Banman and infant brother, Willard.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Mennonite Church.

He was united in marriage to Vinola Schroeder on August 29, 1953 at Tabor Mennonite Church.Ed served at Menninger Foundation in Topeka in the 1-W alternative service program for two years.Upon relocation to Newton, he worked for 32 years at Hesston Corporation, in the Parts Department and Materials Disposition before retiring in 1997. He was a charter member of Faith Mennonite Church and has remained a member there. He enjoyed camping, gardening, woodworking, bird-feeding, singing in the Kansas Men’s Chorus, remodeling, rebuilding vehicles, building custom log-splitters and many&nbsp;other things. He was a do-it-yourselfer who tackled any project, big or small, with a desire to learn and a determination to succeed.He is survived by his wife, Vinola, of North Newton, and his children Cynthia Banman and Wendell (Yvonne) Banman of Newton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Joan D. Thrash, 86, died September 3, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born June 22, 1938, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Clyde and Sybil (Campbell) Crawford.

On Oct. 29, 1955, she married Ralph Thrash in Wichita. Joan and Ralph lived in Wichita at that time. In 1968, they moved to Peabody where they owned the grocery store until 1980.

They then moved to Hutchinson and owned the Jack and Jill Grocery from 1980 until 1987.

In 1996, she opened her own business, Cleaning by Joan. Joan was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. Joan and Ralph were married for 58 years before he passed away in 2014.

She is survived by sons, Russell Thrash and wife Suzanne, Scott Thrash and wife Carol, Darin Thrash; sisters, Debbie Bowman, Denise Matz; grandchildren, Stephanie Ricketts, Jamie Washburn, Torie Thrash, Jeromy Thrash, Trevor Thrash, Derek Thrash, Stacia Biel, Tasha Thrash, Angellina King and Erik Pettay; and 21 great grandchildren.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; son, Tracy Thrash; grandsons, Chris Thrash and Travis Thrash; and a sister, Dorothy Odle.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Dewindt presiding. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Myrle D. Hoffman, 74, of Hutchinson, died September 2, 2024, at his home. He was born in San Diego, CA on December 20, 1949, to Richard and Muriel “Bertie” (Eikleberry) Hoffman.

Myrle attended Buhler High School and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1969 and proudly served his country for many years. In his free time, Myrle enjoyed fishing and camping. He was an eager member of the UBU Sunflower Camping Club and Hutch Cosmos. He was a proud owner of Hoffman Construction and H &amp; H Precast along with his brother Bill. &nbsp;Through-out life, Myrle had many animals that he cared for. He loved dogs, especially Cooper and Maggie, who will miss him greatly.

On December 4, 1971, he married Debra “Debbie” K. Taggart, in Hutchinson, KS. They shared 52 years together, before his death.

Myrle is survived by: wife, Debra “Debbie” Hoffman; daughters, Melissa Finch, Kelly Polson (Shane Mog), Staci Hoffman (Chris Ward); sisters, Jean (Allen) Wedel, and Jolyne Dix; brothers, Dan (Audrey) Hoffman, Bill (Chris) Hoffman, and Stan Hoffman; beloved grandchildren, Kelsie, Kaden, Maitlyn, Kullen, Kamellia and mother-in-law Dona Taggart.

Known as Jean to all her family and friends, she graduated from Clearmont High School, Clearmont, MO, Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph, MO, and received her master’s degree as a reading specialist from Wichita State University. &nbsp;Jean retired from Avenue A School, after 20 years of service as a 5th and 6th grade teacher. Overall, her teaching career spanned over 50 years. Jean enjoyed staying busy, especially if it meant shopping, whether on-line or in person, traveling, (she visited all 50 states), going on cruises, and riding her motorcycle.&nbsp;

On June 7, 1971, she married the love of her live, Martin V. Watkins, in Mami, OK. &nbsp; &nbsp;He died June 24, 2009, after they shared 38 years of marriage.&nbsp;

Jean is survived by: &nbsp;children, Donna Budd of Kansas City, MO, Steven Hull (Karen) of Chester, VA, Kelly Hull (Cheryl) of Nags Head, NC, Wendy Turley (James), and Tina Self (Kevin), all of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jean Latimer, 92, formerly of Derby, KS and Haysville, KS, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home in McPherson, KS.&nbsp;

Jean was born June 2, 1932, in Edna, KS, the daughter of John Calvin and Alta Irene (Froman) Fahler.&nbsp; She graduated from Edna High School in 1950 and continued her education at Pittsburg State Teachers College.&nbsp; On June 24, 1951, Jean was united in marriage to Gary Duane Latimer in Edna, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with three children, Kathryn, Linda, and Kent.

Jean retired from the Coleman Company in Wichita, KS.&nbsp; She was a longtime member of Haysville United Methodist Church and attended the First Presbyterian Church in McPherson.&nbsp;

Survivors include her loving husband of 73 years, Gary of the home; daughter, Kathryn Williams of Topeka, KS; son, Kent Latimer of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda; siblings, Dorothea Fahler, Nellie Mae Coons, Phyllis Haines, and Jake Fahler.

Orvalene Anne Thayer, 79, passed away on August 24, 2024, at McPherson Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on May 20, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of Orval and Helen McCall Sperry. Ann served as a registered nurse in the United States Army for&nbsp;three years, where she met and married Edward James Mark in 1966 in Eureka, California.

They later divorced, and in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, she married Grover Eugene Thayer on November 23, 1979. Grover passed away on June 28, 2014.

Ann's nursing career spanned both her military service and several medical facilities in the area.

She had a deep love for flowers and plants, cherished old-school country music, and loved Elvis. She was a fan of classic westerns like&nbsp;Gunsmoke&nbsp;and&nbsp;Walker, Texas Ranger. Ann also had a passion for cooking, particularly her homemade bread and fried chicken, which she lovingly prepared for her family. After her divorce from Edward, she raised her two children, Tony and Dawn, as a devoted single mother until she met Grover Thayer. Though she didn’t regularly attend organized church services, Ann was a believer in Christ.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Robin Mark of Wichita; her sister, Kitty Sperry; her grandchildren, Chandler Webster, Travis Leddy, Jeff Leddy, Jessica Gonzales, Katelynn Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Clark, Abel Chukwukele, and Abi Gonzales. She is also remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout Kansas.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her son Grover Eugene Thayer II on March 7, 2023, and her daughter Dawn Jones on December 7, 2019.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside&nbsp;interment&nbsp;with military honors provided by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at North Inman Cemetery in Inman.

Darlene Joan (French) Joseph left this world on September 1st, 2024 with loved ones by her side.

Darlene was born to Roud French and Nora (Thill) French on October 20th, 1936 in Lyon County Kansas, Darlene was proud to be a Lamont Cardinal.

On August 29th, 1959, Darlene married Donald Joseph, Darlene and Donald went on to have two daughters Donna Marie (Riggs) and Dale Jean (Probst).

Darlene served the farmers of Barber County and surrounding areas at the ASCS office in Medicine Lodge for 37 years. Darlene loved her farmers and their families and the lifelong relationships she built with them. Darlene retired early to care for Don, who passed away in May of 1994.

Darlene then sold AVON, drove a route for Arrowhead West, worked at the Lincoln Library, the City of Medicine Lodge and served as Medicine Lodge Township Trustee. For many years Darlene made and donated cakes to support the Medicine Lodge Booster Club.

During her retirement years Darlene enjoyed attending her great-grandkids school functions and sporting events. The “job” Darlene was most fond of during retirement was keeping her great-granddaughter, Mayzee Don. Darlene cared for May from the time she was 6 weeks old until school age, they were the best of friends.

Darlene was an exceedingly loving, caring person, she was extremely passionate about caring for young and old. Darlene would love you like her own, make sure you were fed, and felt welcome at her house at any time. In her quest to be sure everyone grew up with the correct guidance, she earned the nickname “Big Bad Dar.”

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Roud and Nora French, and her in-laws Jim and Pearl Joseph, husband Donald Joseph, and her beloved nephew Alan Joseph. Darlene’s survivors include daughters, Donna (Doug) Riggs of Council Bluffs, IA, Dale Jean (Steve) Probst of Medicine Lodge. 3 grand-daughters Kialee (Marshall), Rachael (Chris), Victoria and one grandson Robert (Libby). Great grandchildren: Corisa, Emilie, Chance, Kaydence, Mayzee, Kennedy, Thad, Liviana, Jack, and Waverly. Great-Great grandchildren: Delainey and Kashtyn.

James Sylvester Sauber, 95, passed away at Reflections Retirement Resort in Salina, KS on Sept. 1st, 2024. 

Born on July 5th, 1929 in Great Bend, KS to parents Peter Matt &amp; Frances (Hoffman) Sauber.  A lifetime Rice and Barton County resident James graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1948 later marrying Marilyn Jean Ewy on July 16th, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood. 

James worked in HVAC and plumbing for all of his working years in addition served in the National Guard for 6 years and Ellinwood Fire Dept. for 11 years. 

Memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Church, Arkansas River Muzzleloaders, Kansas Trappers Associations and Ellinwood Historical Society. James was an avid outdoorsman where he hunted birds, deer, and elk and also trapped bobcats. James cut firewood and even built a log cabin on the Arkansas River in addition to updating the home many times. Later in life he enjoyed going to estate sales and auctions to collect antiques.

Survivors include wife of over 71 years Marilyn (Ewy) Sauber; children, Michael (Diane) Sauber, Julie (Greg) Stephens, Robert (Christine) Sauber, Jackie (Bill) Klapper, Elaine (Ken) Martin, Andrew (Patty) Sauber, Keith Sauber; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; sister in law, Bettie Sauber and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by siblings, Margaret Huslig, Lawrence Sauber, Ambrose Sauber, Emanuel Sauber, and daughter in law Janet Sauber.

Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood, Sat., Sept. 7th at 10:30 AM with Fr. Terrance Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood, KS. Visitation will take place at Minnis Chapel on Fri., Sept. 6th from 1-5 PM and family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 5-7 PM prior to the parish Rosary/Vigil beginning at 7 PM.

Shirley Ann Farris, 71, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away September 1, 2024. 

She was born January 21, 1953, in Sterling, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin and Mary (Jones) Cruth. Shirley has resided in Sterling since 1969, formerly of Alden, Kansas. She graduated from Sterling High School, with the class of 1971. Shirley was a cook for twelve years at the Sterling Café and a custodian for Sterling Grade School for twenty-five years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter #32 of Sterling. 

Shirley loved to cook, enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, and loved all animals. She was an avid Kansas University Basketball fan, 49’s Football fan, and Rolling Stones fan. Shirley loved going to Kanopolis Lake and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

On May 10, 1975, Shirley was united in marriage with David Farris in Alden. Shirley is survived by her husband, David of Sterling, KS; son, Chad Farris of Sterling, KS; daughter, Haley Brown and husband Joshua of Raymond, KS; three grandchildren, Owen Brown, Kevin Brown, and Khloe Brown.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Marvin Cruth. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with Mark Tremaine officiating.

Johnnie Steven (Steve) Gregg passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS on August 29, 2024.

Steve is survived by his wife, Gail; daughters Gina Picart of Tulsa, OK, Robin Roberson (Brian) of Germantown, MD, and Rhonda Horton (Craig) of Blue Springs, MS; brothers, Curtis Gregg (Judy) and Terry Gregg (Sandy). Steve was also influential in the lives of Debra Astle of St. John, KS, Suzanne Vieyra of Manhattan, KS and Pedro “Pete” Vieyra of Wichita, KS. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members were close to his heart.&nbsp;

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vivian Gregg and beloved sister Janis Thomas.&nbsp;

Born in Nickerson, KS on August 7, 1944 he lived in Stafford County and graduated from Hudson High School in 1962. After 25 years in Tulsa, OK Steve and his wife, Gail moved back to Nickerson. Working outside and being productive was a huge part of his life.&nbsp;

His faithful companion was his dog, Sheba, they were inseparable.&nbsp;

A celebration of life will be held on September 14, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Lakeside Recreation Pavilion, 7803 W. Nickerson Blvd, Hutchinson KS.&nbsp;

Rusty Gene Kilgore, 68, born September 20, 1955, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 1, 2024 -after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. &nbsp; &nbsp;A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Rusty was known for his unwavering hard work, infectious laughter, and steadfast dedication to his family.&nbsp;

He is preceded in death by parents, Norman and Lois Kilgore; brother, Rocky Kilgore; and sister, Pam Kilgore.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa, his four children; son, Brett Kilgore (Nicole); son, Tom Heumann (Brooke); daughter Lacey Miller (Andy); and son, Michael Flory (Kerstan) and his eight grandchildren, Kadance, Karlie, Dalton, Blake, Brelynn, Maddex, Callen, and Rhys. Rusty’s legacy lives on through his family, who will remember him for his constant drive to get work done.

Rusty was born in Huchinson, KS., the youngest of three children. &nbsp; Growing up in Hutchinson, Rusty worked in the family diner, peeling potatoes. &nbsp; During the summer of ’71, the family moved to Rose Hill where he graduated in 1973. Rusty stayed busy in Rose Hill farming, running a feed store, and car lot – all while working at Boeing. &nbsp;

Rusty married Teresa in 2001 and they moved to Wichita. They spent their time working at Boeing/Spirit and raising their 4 children. Although Rusty was stern at times, he had a method to his ways – he wanted his children to grow up to live a life of doing right. &nbsp;Rusty was extremely proud of his 4 children.&nbsp;

In addition to raising 4 great kids and being amazing grandparents, Rusty and Teresa did lot of traveling the last 24 years. Their adventures took them from Vegas to the Bahamas; Colorado to Atlantic City; California to Texas; however, &nbsp;their absolute favorite place was their lake house at Grand Lake – their peaceful haven for the past 6 years.

Rusty’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. &nbsp; &nbsp;His presence will be deeply missed but his impact will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Kris D. Baymiller was born to D. Kurt and Carol J. Baymiller on November 9, 1958, and died August 28, 2024. He is preceded in death by his father, Kurt, and his twin brother, Kyle. He is survived by his mother, Carol Schecher, Rapid City, SD; wife, Deborah of the home; brothers, Doug, Hudson, SD, Jon (Peggy), Lenior City, TN, and Eric (Karen), Tucson, AZ; children, Benjamin, Weed, CA, Tedra, Sioux Falls, SD; Zachary (Heather), Waukee, IA; stepdaughters, Deandra Hester, South Hutchinson, and Jolana Spurlock, Hutchinson; five granddaughters; five step grandchildren; and a step great granddaughter.

Kris graduated from Watertown (SD) High School in 1977 and attended South Dakota State University. He received a Machine Tool Technology diploma with high honors from Mithell Vocational Technical Institute/Springfield. He worked as a tool and die maker in Sheldon, IA, and Sioux Falls, SD, before retiring from AGCO in Hesston, KS, after 22 years of service. Kris enjoyed his work and coworkers.

In June of 1979, Kris married Tammee Luke they had three children together before divorcing in July, 1987. On September 25, 2010, he married Deborah Spurlock and remained dedicated to her until his death. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He recently found much joy in spending time with his great granddaughter and teaching her silly antics.

He will be dearly missed by friends and family. Kris was a very kind man with a gentle and caring soul who loved his family immensely. His love language was helping others, and it showed in his everyday walk.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.

Jacqueline Faye “Jackie” Ensz, 68, of Mount Hope, died September 1, 2024, in Wichita. She was born February 25, 1956, in Lake Charles, L, to Ernest “Ernie” and Alma Reisinger.&nbsp;

Jackie graduated from Manheim High School (PA) in 1974. She worked in childcare at Friendship Daycare. Jackie enjoyed arts and crafts, painting rocks, cross-stitching and planting flowers were some of her favorites.

She was a member of Community Church of the Brethen, Hutchinson.

On August 9, 1980 she married Rex A. Ensz, in Manheim, PA. They shared over 44 years of marriage.

Jackie is survived by: husband, Rex Ensz of Mount Hope; son, Isaac (Abigail) Ensz of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Sandra Reisinger of Harrisburg, VA; 1 niece and 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jacqueline Faye “Jackie” Ensz |1956-2024|

Emmit Willard Hipps, 89, of Valley Center, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. &nbsp;He was born in Pottsville, Arkansas to John Willis Hipps Jr. and Laura Alice (Lewallen) Hipps. &nbsp;Being raised in Pope County, Arkansas, Emmit met and married the love of his life, Nina Jean (McAnulty) Hipps on February 14, 1951, in Russellville. Emmit served in the United States Army in the Korean War Era and was released Feb. 13, 1953. He and Nina moved to Wichita, Kansas then to Valley Center where they raised their family, attended church, played music and remained till his passing. He worked at Beech Aircraft where he retired after 42 years of service.

Emmit received his pilot’s license in 1978 and was a member of the Beech Flying Club. &nbsp;His great love for music where he played in country western groups up until this last year, &nbsp;playing his steel guitar, fiddle (violin), mandolin and standard guitar. &nbsp;Even though living in town, he also had his farm where he loved farming, hay crops, cattle and horses. &nbsp;The family did Bit’n Spur shows with their horses. &nbsp;He enjoyed his family time with his children and grandchildren.&nbsp;

Emmit is survived by his son Steve (Nikki) Hipps of Valley Center, daughter Brenda Hipps (Lee Weens) of Inman; grandchildren Heather (Hipps) Thomasson, Jarrod (Jessica) Hipps, Jayce Hipps, Chelsey Bates and Shane Ketron; great grandchildren Sullivan Thomasson, Kellen Hipps, Caden Hipps, Coran Hipps, Jaina Hipps, Daniel Ketron, Dylan Ketron and Dalton Bates; life friend Eleanor C. Chavez of Wichita; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Service 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5 at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center with Ed Johnson officiating. &nbsp;Graveside will follow at the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery.

 </figure>Emmit Willard Hipps, 89, of Valley Center, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. &nbsp;He was born in Pottsville, Arkansas to John Willis Hipps Jr. and Laura Alice (Lewallen) Hipps. &nbsp;Being raised in Pope County, Arkansas, Emmit met and married the love of his life, Nina Jean (McAnulty) Hipps on February 14, 1951, in Russellville. Emmit served in the United States Army in the Korean War Era and was released Feb. 13, 1953. He and Nina moved to Wichita, Kansas then to Valley Center where they raised their family, attended church, played music and remained till his passing. He worked at Beech Aircraft where he retired after 42 years of service.Emmit received his pilot’s license in 1978 and was a member of the Beech Flying Club. &nbsp;His great love for music where he played in country western groups up until this last year, &nbsp;playing his steel guitar, fiddle (violin), mandolin and standard guitar. &nbsp;Even though living in town, he also had his farm where he loved farming, hay crops, cattle and horses. &nbsp;The family did Bit’n Spur shows with their horses. &nbsp;He enjoyed his family time with his children and grandchildren.&nbsp;He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Nina Hipps in 2012, his parents John and Laura Hipps, 10 siblings: Myrtle Minor, William Elton Hipps Sr, Earl B. Rose Marie Hoefer, 86, of Hutchinson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society – Hutchinson Village. She was born March 13, 1938, in Hoxie, to Ira John and Lottie Mae (Davis) Hatten.

On August 20, 1955, Rose married Carroll Donald Hoefer at First Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

She is survived by: her son, Steve (Brenda) Hoefer of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brandi Hemphill, Jonathon (Tiffani) Hoefer, Ashley Hoefer, Phillip Hoefer, Crimson (Jeff) Kellogg, Brianna Hoefer; six great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law, Mike (Jill) Hoefer and Pat (Melva) Hoefer.

Rose was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Carroll; son, Tim Hoefer; daughter, Ruth Hoefer; brother-in-law, Phillip Hoefer and his wife, Ileine; and grandson-in-law, Brian Hemphill.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024, Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12th Ave., Hutchinson. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the church’s website.

Leonard Dale (Len) Friesen, a resident at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS, died September 1, 2024, at the age 85. &nbsp;He was the second son of Leonard Flaming and Louise Grace (Thiessen) Friesen. &nbsp;Len graduated from Inman High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Emporia State Teachers College. &nbsp;He spent many years as a Sales Rep in the Delco Division of General Motors.

Survivors include brother, Raymond Friesen, Inman; sisters, Verbie Friesen Thiessen, Inman Judie Friesen Willems, Hesston; sister-in-law, Shirley Knackstedt Friesen, Inman; son, Bradley Friesen Lee and Wife Denise, Texas; 3 granddaughters; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

Preceding him in death are his parents; and a brother, Gerald Dean (Jerry) Friesen, Inman.
