Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Wallace, born October 4, 1956, in Salina, Kansas, passed away on October 28, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Mary “Jean” Wallace and Oliver Wallace and a lifelong resident of Hutchinson.
Becky dedicated her life to caring for others. She served the community as a Certified Nursing Assistant at several nursing homes in Hutchinson before transitioning to providing in-home health care for seniors. Her warmth, compassion, and spirit touched countless lives throughout her career.
Those who knew Becky will remember her sense of humor and her gift for bringing people together. She was happiest when hosting her family and friends for holidays, filling her home with laughter and love. Becky was passionate about animals—she always had a rescue dog (or two) and a collie by her side. She was known for feeding every stray cat in the neighborhood. She also found joy in gardening and spending time outdoors. Whether she was tending her garden, making her famous meatloaf, or welcoming another stray into her care, Becky had a way of making everyone feel loved and cared for.
Becky is lovingly survived by her daughter, Anissa (Jeff); her sons: Garrett (David), Ryan (Amy), Derek, and Blake (Jamie); her grandchildren—Keaton, Natalie, Isabella, Hennessy, and Madeline; and her great-grandchildren, Ariel and Gianna. She also leaves behind her long-time partner, Daniel Clapp; her devoted sisters, Debbie Gibson, Carol McKee (Gary), and Kathy McClanahan (Jud); her stepdaughters, Chrissy and Lacy; and her cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary “Jean” (2019) and Oliver Wallace (1983); her brothers, Douglas Wallace (1986) and Michael Wallace (2022); her ex-husband, Tom Swafford (2012); and her stepchildren, Lindsey and Clinton (1996).
A Memorial service will be held at Elliott Mortuary Chapel in Hutchinson, Kansas, on November 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. Becky will be cremated with no public viewing.
