John Milton Schneithorst, 90, died July 17, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.  He was born January 7, 1931, in Kirtland, OH, to J. Milton and Lucretia G. (Brewster) Schneithorst.

John graduated from high school in 1948, and then joined the United States Navy.  He served from 1948 to 1952, during the Korean War, where he spent time on the USS Furse, USS Turner, and USS Markab.  After the navy, John began his career as a plant engineer for various companies, before retiring from Jackson’s Ice Cream Company, after 20 years of service. John enjoyed anything outdoors, from cutting wood to gardening, to growing melons.  He was a handyman and a master of anything to do with industrial arts.  He even designed, constructed, and built machinery.  In addition, John was a Master Gardener and belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers.  He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.

On July 3, 1952, he married Helen Louise Miklos, in Kansas City, KS.  They recently celebrated 69 years of marriage. 

John is survived by: his wife, Helen; sons, Jonathan Steele (Teresa), Ronald Schneithorst, and Craig Schneithorst (Jennifer); 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; a brother, Leo; and a sister, Phyllis Ireland.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 East 12th,  Hutchinson, with Pastors Quentin Nuttmann and Henry Blickhahn officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Geri worked at Kenton's Restaurant, American Legion Club for many years and cafeteria at Haskins School until her retirement. She had a loving generous spirit, when Geri made a friend it was a friend forever. She loved traveling and camping with Richard. Gardening, dancing and Elvis Music. She was a hard worker.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; two brothers, Fr. Peter Meis O.F.M. CAP. of Papua New Guinea and Mike Meis of Catherine; four sisters, Sr Mary Rose Meis C.S. A. of Fon du Lac,WI, Sr Mairse Meis, C.S.A of Nicaragua, Kathy (Jeff) Plank of Shelby Township, MI., and Christine Hadley of Hays, KS. Step daughter Deanne (Barry) Bennington; granddaughter Madeline all of Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Charles Robert “Bob” Cottle, 98, died Monday, July 19, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 9, 1923, in rural Hutchinson, to James O. and Lillie Ann (Owings) Cottle.

Bob was a 1940 graduate of Waverly High School and a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson. &nbsp;&nbsp;He served in the United States Army, and was wounded while serving in Italy, 10th&nbsp;Mountain Division.&nbsp; Bob appreciated the care he received while recovering at Fitzsimons General Hospital, Denver, Colorado.

Bob was a rural letter carrier for 37 years in the area south of Hutchinson. Memberships include the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Disabled Veterans, and Rural Letter Carriers Associations.&nbsp; He was an avid boating and fisherman, camper, and gardener.

On August 30, 1945, Bob married Edna Nelson.&nbsp; They shared 60 years of marriage, before she died December 29, 2005. On January 30, 2006, he married Doris Ann Avery, in Hutchinson.

Bob is survived by:&nbsp; his wife of 15 years, Doris of Hutchinson; daughters, Cheryl Chambers and husband Jim of Hutchinson; grandson, Marc Chambers of Kansas City; great-grandsons, Tyler and Chase Chambers; stepson, Wayne Swenson of Hutchinson; step-granddaughters, Lyndsey Yoder and husband Derick, and Emily Swenson; step-great- granddaughters, Alexis, Lilly, Julie and Adison Yoder; best friends and neighbors, Charles and Nancy Tucker; and many nieces and nephews.

Phillip Simpson, 78, of Medicine Lodge, KS died Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Ascension- Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita, KS. He was born on June 12, 1943 in Hardtner, KS, the son of Robert C. Simpson and Marjorie (Rozzelle) Simpson. In 1965, he married Joyce Ditgen. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2021. Phillip was raised on the family farm, where one of his favorite pastimes was helping his father assess the value of horses for trade with his brother, Richard. He often reminisced about riding Palominos and Big Bays with names like Chief and King. Phillip suffered asthma his entire life, but much more so as a child. His mother often predicted weather patterns based solely on his breathing. He walked to the nearest one-room school house, Reutlinger #10, as a grade school student. The family soon moved to town (c. 1957) and he graduated from Medicine Lodge High School in 1961. Phillip’s occupations ranged from oil field roughnecking in his early days, to owning his own trucking and dozer equipment, and even running his own filling station in Medicine Lodge. He sold insurance all across the state of Kansas for the Knights of Columbus, earning several major awards. In his later years he ‘moved dirt’, as he called it, for Inslee and Gorilla Construction before retiring in the late 2010s. As a father, he was a gentle but vibrant giant. He worked to make his sons self-sufficient and kind, teaching them car repair, fishing and the importance of laughter. As a friend he was ornery, fun-loving, and honest. Phillip passed away with his sons and daughters-in law in attendance, as well as nephew Paul Shelite, after suffering long-time respiratory issues. His cheerful demeanor, broad smile and hearty laugh will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Jerry Maxton Magnison of Medicine Lodge, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the age of 80. Jerry died peacefully at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS, with family by his side. Jerry was born on June 12, 1941, in Alva, OK, to father John Baier Magnison and mother Carrie Faye (Woods) Magnison. As a young man, Jerry was an over-the-road truck driver delivering goods in all 48 of the contiguous United States, also Alaska and Canada. He married Debra Harmon of Byron, OK. They made their home in Cherokee, OK, raising 3 daughters. During that time Jerry worked for Caruthers Construction, eventually opening his own roustabout company and a BBQ restaurant that Debra still operates today. Jerry retired in 2006, as a finish blade operator from Clarkson Construction Company in Kansas City, MO. In retirement Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, telling stories at the coffee shop, tinkering around on the family farm and was a professional people watcher. Jerry will be remembered for his larger than life personality, his loud booming voice, and his big heart. He never knew a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. Surviving are three daughters, Mandy Jo Thomas and husband Jason of Commerce City, CO; Misty Jo Magnison of Alva, OK; and Megan Jo Magnison and fiancé Greg Baumer of Broomfield, CO. Jerry M. Magnison 1941 -  2021

Alan Earl Wellman was born to Richard Gale and Myrtle Belden Wellman on January 4, 1959, in Sterling Kansas. Alan attended Lyons Grade School and graduated from Sterling High School in 1977. He attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1992. By the time Alan was six, he wanted to make music and, for over 50 years, that’s just what he did. A Beatlemaniac from the start, he could perform any Beatles tune. He was a very accomplished guitarist and played with many bands in central Kansas and Kansas City over the years: Ozone, The Shapes, Film @ 11, and X-Ray Glasses. He most enjoyed being featured at the Surf Ballroom’s Winter Dance Party in Clear Lake, IA, the annual memorial to Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and Jiles Richardson. Alan was a member of the Hole in the Wall Gang and enjoyed several years of trail rides and campfire songs in the Wyoming Tetons, as well as the Gang’s annual entry in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Denver. Alan married June Goering on July 5, 1984, in Pretty Prairie, KS. They later divorced. Alan married Lora Lee Stewart on October 25, 2005, in Marble Hill, Missouri. They later divorced. Alan was co-owner of JasTax Services and was employed by Process Equipment and Controls, both of Olathe. In 2019, Alan returned to Sterling. Recently, he suffered two severe strokes, was hospitalized, then transferred to the Good Samaritan Home in Lyons, where he was under the care of Serenity Hospice. He died on July 17, 2021. Alan has been preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Jesse Wellman; his cousin, Alice Wellman Mattson, and her husband, Royce Mattson. Alan is survived by his significant other, Susan Reed; his siblings Emily Wellman of Alden; Greg Wellman of Sterling, and Brad Wellman of Alden; his nephew, Jesse’s, widow, Karen Wellman and their three children of Holton, and his nephews John (Carrie) Wellman and their three children of Alden, Michael (Susan) Wellman and their daughter of Hutchinson, and Brody Wellman of Wichita. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 14, at the Sterling Reformed Presbyterian Church followed by a social gathering.  A private family burial will be at Sterling Community Cemetery at a later date.

She enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, crocheting, crossword puzzles, traveling, playing cards, sewing, selling Real Estate and jewelry. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and would attend as many of their events as she could.

Her loving family includes her children, Nedra (William) Olenick of Halstead, Doug (Vici) Mann, Darla Diamond, Don (Angel) Mann all of Wichita; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl in 2015; sister, Esther Sinclair; brother, Dewy Stevens; and her beloved dog, Mr. Angel. Jane passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the age of 88 years old.

Charles life began on June 9, 1945, the son of Jim “Tom” and Norma Cleta (Carpenter) Kannady in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated from Valley Center High Class of 1964 and then attended Oklahoma State for 1 ½ years where he played football. He married Linda Gayle Fransham on August 27, 1967, at Valley Center United Methodist Church. He attended Wichita State University while working at Boeing. He finished up his college degree at Friends University in Wichita where he also played football.

Charles taught science and driver’s education in Florence, Marion and Goddard, Kansas. He was a farmer/rancher and a real estate broker. He attended Eastmoor United Methodist, was a member of Lions Club, National Board of Realtors and Marion Advancement Campaign. He enjoyed playing cards and billiards. Most of all he loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.

&nbsp;His loving family includes his wife, Linda of the home; sons and their wives, Dirk and Tonya Kannady of Haysville, Kansas, Eric and Lindsay Kannady of Manhattan, Dax and Emily Kannady of Pilsen; brother, Jimmy Kannady of Valley Center; sister, Teresa Kannady of Benton, Kansas; three grandchildren, Rylie, Avery and Gage Kannady.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Cynthia Kannady. Charles passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the age of 76 years old.

Charles Galen Kannady  1945 ~ 2021 

&nbsp; Hillsboro - Charles (Chuck) L. Abrahams was born to Curtis and Anna (Dalke) Abrahams on November 18, 1934 welcomed by his older siblings: Verna, Norman and Raymond. Chuck graduated from Hillsboro High School. Chuck enlisted in the Army Reserves on August 17, 1957 as a Private. He was honorably discharged from the Army of the United States on April 15, 1963 as a Corporal. Chuck married Genevieve (Genny) Winter on December 2, 1960 in the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Chuck and Genny’s 1st home was a trailer house in Hillsboro. In 1963 their son Brad was born. 5 years later Brad welcomed his sister Marci to the family. After living in several different houses they settled into a home on Lincoln street where they lived for nearly 45 years before residing at Bethesda Home in Goessel. Chuck worked a variety of jobs including a milk route; parts manager at Irv Schroeder Motors; and as a salesman for Bowman. The majority of Chuck’s adult career was spent delivering mail for the US Postal Service. Regardless of the weather, Chuck would walk a 12 mile route, 5 days a week without a complaint. He enjoyed walking his route, dressed as Santa Claus every December 24. Chuck ended his career working at Circle D into his late 70s. His hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting and old cars. Chuck would do anything for anyone but his #1 passion was his grandkids – Brady, Derek, Brandi &amp; Maci. He loved supporting them at their events. Chuck also enjoyed his woodworking shop. Some of the items he made included: Banks out of PO Boxes; Sequence Games; Infant cradles, Rocking Horses, Time out Benches; and Grandfather clocks. Chuck definitely knew his Lord personally and showed God’s love by caring, giving and through his gentle, kind heart. He was one patient soul! Homemade ice cream on Sundays was a given. Chuck also loved to grill. At Bethesda, Chuck could be found at his computer playing Solitare (which he called Solitary), snacking on M and Ms. Chuck passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021 at Bethesda Home in Goessel. Celebration of Life 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro officiated by Pastor Tom Harder. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Church on Thursday. Family asks that everyone where a mask due to COVID-19. Ronnie’s life began on October 6, 1974, the son of Ronnie Mack Sr. and Martha Eleanor (Taylor) Moncrief in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from Cook County High School in Adel, Georgia in 1992. He met Teresa Marie Gross Stepherson and they were united in marriage on April 4, 2010 in Savannah, Georgia. He was employed as an electrician/foreman at Footlocker in Junction City, Kansas. He enjoyed computers, developed and started an internet radio station called “Nighthawk Radio” which is now owned and operated by others.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Mack Moncrief Sr. in 1996. Ronnie passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas.

His loving family includes his wife, Teresa Stepherson of Herington; three children of the home, Sevana, Brianna, and Ronnie all of Herington; mother, Martha Eleanor Taylor of Savannah, Georgia; and brothers, Robert Moncrief and Ryan Moncrief (Melissa) all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Reagan Moncrief (Shannon) of Savannah, Georgia.

Enedina “Annie” Cadena, 87, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away July 16, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society of Lyons. 

She was born May 14, 1934 in Lyons, the daughter of Elvaristo and Elivra Garcea Limones. Annie was a lifelong Lyons resident. She was a homemaker. Annie was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lyons. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking. 

On February 18, 1950, Annie was united in marriage with Louis C. Cadena in Lyons. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1986. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and son, Larry Cadena. Annie is survived by her three daughters, Lydia Schmidt and husband Steve of Lincoln, NE, Pat Baker of Ulysses, KS, and Marcia Cadena of Lyons; daughter-in-law, Victoria Cadena of Louisburg, KS; brother, Bernie Limones of Lyons; two sisters, Josie Smith and Mary Wilder, both of Lyons; eight grandchildren, Derrick Cadena, Jared Cadena, Carly Cadena, Ryan Rummel, Kevin Rummel, Molly Schmidt Parrish, Marla Schmidt, and Amanda Schmidt; and seven great-grandchildren. 

A private family graveside service will be held at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Heart Association in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.

Karen Diana “Diane” Glaser, passed away, July 16, 2021, at Bethesda Home in Goessel, Kansas at the age of 78.  She was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on July 24, 1942, the oldest child of Ceph and Anita Curl. 

Diane grew up in the Braman, OK. area where she graduated high school with the class of 1960.  She then attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College for two years and finished her education at Kansas State University.  She graduated in January of 1965 with a teaching degree.

Diane married Graeme Glaser on August 31, 1962.  They had their first son, Curt in Manhattan, then resided in Lawton, OK. while Graeme was in the military.  When Graeme was assigned duty in Vietnam, Diane moved back to Braman with their son.   That year she also taught school at South Haven, KS.  Upon Graeme’s return from the service, they lived in several places and continued to expand their family with the birth of Dawn and Kent before finally landing in Peabody, KS. in 1978, where they made their home on a farm.

Diane taught 20 years at Peabody Elementary School.  She was an active member of the Peabody United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, participated in United Methodist Women (UMW), and taught children’s Sunday School.  Diane loved tending to her flower gardens, cooking, sewing, doting on her grandkids, and spending time with friends.

She is survived by her husband, Graeme; sons, Curt and his wife, Joni, of Ellsworth, KS., Kent and his wife, Charity, of Gardner, KS.; daughter, Dawn Voth and her husband, Mike, of Littleton, CO.; and brother, Eric and his wife, Rita, of Mountain View, Arkansas.  Diane was blessed with eight grandchildren: Clint, Grant and his wife Marissa, Nate, Cassie, Dawson, Tatum, Tristin, and Trent.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Catherine McRae.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Peabody Methodist Church.   Burial will follow at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. They had their first son, Curt in Manhattan, then resided in Lawton, OK. while Graeme was in the military. When Graeme was assigned duty in Vietnam, Diane moved back to Braman with their son. That year she also taught school at South Haven, KS. Upon Graeme’s return from the service, they lived in several places and continued to expand their family with the birth of Dawn and Kent before finally landing in Peabody, KS. in 1978, where they made their home on a farm.Diane taught 20 years at Peabody Elementary School. She was an active member of the Peabody United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, participated in United Methodist Women (UMW), and taught children’s Sunday School. Diane loved tending to her flower gardens, cooking, sewing, doting on her grandkids, and spending time with friends.She is survived by her husband, Graeme; sons, Curt and his wife, Joni, of Ellsworth, KS., Kent and his wife, Charity, of Gardner, KS.; daughter, Dawn Voth and her husband, Mike, of Littleton, CO.; and brother, Eric and his wife, Rita, of Mountain View, Arkansas. Diane was blessed with eight grandchildren: Clint, Grant and his wife Marissa, Nate, Cassie, Dawson, Tatum, Tristin, and Trent.Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Catherine McRae.Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Peabody Methodist Church. Floyd Charles ‘Chuck’ ‘Cork’ Kelley, 84, of South Hutchinson, died July 15, 2021, at his home. He was born June 4, 1937, in Beloit, to Warren D. and Ava M. (Broadbent) Kelley.

Chuck graduated from Jewell High School. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. A Hutchinson resident since 1960, Chuck worked briefly for the Hutchinson Fire Department before taking a job as a truck driver for Dillons, a job he held for 35 years until he retired in 1998.

Chuck was an avid hunter, a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 795.

On April 10, 1960, he married Donna Lee Schmidt, in Hoisington. They later divorced. On September 26, 1992, Chuck married Paula L. (Ford) Jordan, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, Denise Welch (Thomas), Charles Kelley (Robin), all of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Mindy Manning (Dusty), Hutchinson, Kristin Piña (Zach), Hutchinson, Chelsey Buttrey (James), Eldridge, MO, Shelby Kelley (fiancé, Eric Sanchez), Lakewood, CO; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Manning, Isaiah, Dominik, Preston, and Hudson Piña, Charli, Soyer, Qaidn, Kai, and Eisley Buttrey; great-great-grandchild, Ayla Chapin; stepchildren, Savanna Anderson (Joe) of Montevideo, MN, C.D. Larry W. Griffin, 78, passed away on July 14, 2021, at his home in 
Hutchinson, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on February 2, 1943, in Hutchinson, 
Kansas, the son of Joe and Ethelyn (Anderson) Griffin.

Larry was a District Storekeeper for the State Department of 
Transportation. He married Cheryl Ann Stecklein on April 24, 1965, in 
Ness City. She died on November 23, 2013.

Survivors include a son, Darrin (Shelley) Griffin of Manhattan; a 
brother, Bob Griffin of Hutchinson; and 2 grandsons, Lane and Wyatt 
Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Cheryl Ann 
Griffin.

Graveside service will be on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, 10:30 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ness City.

Madison (Maddie) Elizabeth Parrott, age 14, passed away the evening of Sunday, July 11th, 2021 in Newton, Kansas.  She was an incoming freshman at Hesston High School in Hesston, Kansas.

Madison was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 27th, 2006, to her parents Jeremy Parrott and Abbie Erichsen.

Madison is a beautiful young woman who was taken from us too soon.  She was very loving, compassionate, and full of confidence and sass.  She was very outgoing and loved to spend time with all of her friends and family.  She had a unique talent in art and spent many hours creating beautiful drawings.  Many of which she was never fully satisfied with.  She was definitely her own worst critic.

Madison is survived by her parents Jeremy (Jennifer) Parrott &amp; Abbie (Kelsey) Erichsen; siblings, Ethan &amp; Emily Parrott and Gage Wilson; and many aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Madison is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Jane Aden, maternal grandmother Janet Wolcott, grandfather Dennis Wolcott &amp; Aunt Joannie Harding.

Nancy was born February 26, 1947, in Winfield, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen Horner. She graduated from Nickerson Rural High School in 1965. She also found joy in time spent with friends and family, from exercise classes with friends at the YMCA pool to activities with her children and grandchildren.

 Brenda Lee Rupert, 44, of Marquette passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Salina, with family by her side.  Brenda was born April 19, 1977 in Salina to Randy and Sharon Lister. 

    Brenda grew up in Washington and always spoke of how much she loved her home state. She enjoyed running with her family, playing saxophone in the band, and being on the cheerleading squad. Brenda graduated highschool in Kansas and attended college. She married David Weber on November 4, 1995 in Delphos, and they had 3 children. Brenda married Mitch Rupert on May 5, 2005 in Estes Park, CO. She worked as a para educator for Smoky Valley High School for over 15 years. During that time she had the opportunity to touch many people's lives, being a friend, mentor, and teacher. She considered all her students "her kids." Brenda participated in many activities and functions and loved being a cheerleading coach at SVHS. 

    Her biggest joy was her family and grandchildren and she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Her kids and grandbabies made her shine like the star she was. It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle to cancer because she never stopped fighting. Through her, we know what true resilience and perseverance look like. Brenda was truly one of a kind and will be missed by everyone she knew. 

    She is survived by her husband: Mitch, of the home;  daughters: Madi Weber of Salina and Kati Yates (Gary) of Salina; son: Bradyn Weber (Taylor) of Junction City, KS;  parents: Randy and Sharon Lister of Delphos;  sisters: Angela Sidener (Jeff) of Spokane, WA and Jen Bowen (Jeremy) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren: Carter and Asher Yates, and Nash Weber; and niece: Peyton Bowen; her Chihuahuas Elly and Daisy, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

She is survived by her husband: Mitch, of the home; daughters: Madi Weber of Salina and Kati Yates (Gary) of Salina; son: Bradyn Weber (Taylor) of Junction City, KS; parents: Randy and Sharon Lister of Delphos; sisters: Angela Sidener (Jeff) of Spokane, WA and Jen Bowen (Jeremy) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren: Carter and Asher Yates, and Nash Weber; and niece: Peyton Bowen; her Chihuahuas Elly and Daisy, as well as many extended family members and dear friends. Brenda was preceded in death by her stillborn son: Colby James Rupert; Cousin: Charlie Palmer; paternal grandparents; and close friend: Glenda Flora and her son: Ethan Flora. Cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, with Pastor Jon Fillipi officiating. Molly Genette Goossen, 62, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away on July 15, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.&nbsp;She was born March 7, 1959, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Keith H. and Cora Faye (Griffith) Dagit. On July 31, 1982, she married James Goossen and together they raised two sons, Caleb and Nathaniel.&nbsp;

James and Molly were missionaries to Brazil with Avant Ministries.&nbsp; She is survived by her husband; sons; five&nbsp; grandchildren; and brother, Scott Dagit.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Nan Elizabeth Hale, the daughter of Clyde and Nellie (Fry) Burton was born November 2, 1926 at Parkerville, Kansas. She was the fifth child born to this union. Nan attended school in Morris County until her parents moved to Canton, Kansas where she graduated.

Nan was united in marriage to Foster Busby on August 1, 1944. This union three children were born, Larry, Kay and JaNelle . They were later divorced and she was later united in marriage to Richard Hale.

She worked outside of the home in the insurance field being an underwriter for several insurance companies within the state of Kansas.

Nan was a homemaker and took great pride in providing for her family and home. She was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #24 and the VFW Post 2715. She served the Auxiliary as District President and took great pride in that.

Nan was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, sister aunt, and dear friend to many. Her wise counsel, gentle but firm guidance and sense of humor will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was especially fond of all her grandchildren, always looking forward to their visits and time spent together. She could often been seen at a baseball game in one hundred degree heat and in cold wet weather watching a soccer game.

Nan enjoyed playing cards, dancing, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

Nan 94 of McPherson, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 with family present by her side at Pleasant View Home, Inman. Nan was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Melba Palmer, Betty Herr; her brothers, Phillip, Harry, George, and Clyde Jr. Burton; her daughter, JaNelle Busby; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Surviving family members include her children, Larry, and Kay all of McPherson; her sister Karen Cofran of Overland Park, Kansas; her four grandchildren, Brent and Kendra, Wayne Thompson (Kris) and Janeine Muir (Doug) of McPherson; four great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

The final resting place will be at the Parkerville Cemetery, Parkerville, Kansas.

Ebba Jean Nelson, 93, of Marquette, Kansas, passed away at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 while in the company of her family at Riverview Estates.

Ebba was born in McPherson, Kansas on July 7, 1928, daughter of Ralph E. and Nellie M. (Borders) Spohn.

Ebba attended Windom grade school and graduated from Windom High School, Windom Kansas in 1942 at the age of 14. She then attended McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas and Adela Hale Business School, Hutchinson, Kansas.

Ebba enjoyed bowling, KU basketball, KC Royals and Chiefs, an avid basketball fan, loved Marquette High School Sports, quilting, needle work, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.

Ebba was a member of the Marquette American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years and Eastern Star member for 75 years.

Ebba Jean Spohn was united in marriage to Louis Alfred "Blackie" Nelson on Oct. 26, 1952. This union was blessed with the birth of four sons, Barry, Mo, Linn and Kale.

She is survived by her children, Barry Nelson and his wife Carylee, of Marquette, Kansas, Mo Nelson and his wife Gayle, of Marquette, Kansas, Linn Nelson and his wife Lou, of Marquette, Kansas and Kale Nelson and his wife Kelly, of Fort Scott, Kansas.

She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Ebba was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Leo Spohn; her sister Eula Spohn and her grandchildren Sam Nelson, Kyler and Katelyn Nelson.

Memorial service will be held on July 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette, Kansas with Rev. Amy Kay Pavlovich officiating.

Lillian Marie Nelson, 99, of Lindsborg passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Bethany Home. Lillian was born October 5, 1921 in Lindsborg, KS to the late Julius and the late Myrtle (Kimmel) Esping.  

Lillian graduated from Salina High School and on May 27, 1941, she married Carl M. Nelson in Salina, KS.

She was a retired food service worker at Bethany College.

Survivors include her daughter: Carla Jamison (Keith) of Destin, FL son: Jim Nelson (Betty) of Lindsborg, KS; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Carl; brothers: Bob and Jim Esping; sister Marjorie Sartori; and great grandson: Benjamin Carl Nelson.

Private family committal will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.  Memorial services will be held in the fall.
