Lewis McCay Smith, 81, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away June 3, 2021 at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson. He was born May 7, 1940, in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Paul and Patricia Irene Grubb Smith. Lewis has resided in Lyons since 2002, formerly of Hutchinson. He was a retired meat cutter for Dillons. 

Lewis served in the United States Army from November 24, 1959 until November 23, 1965. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Sterling, and Westside Baptist Church of Hutchinson. On February 6, 1960, Lewis was united in marriage with Jean Gail King in Lyons. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2019. 

Lewis is also preceded in death by his parents; and son, Kenneth A. Smith. He is survived by his three sons, Lewis M. Smith, Jr. of Sylvis, IL, Jeffrey C. Smith of Harrisburg, PA, and Kelly L. Smith of Lawrence, KS; daughter, Shelly M. Smith of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Paul Smith Jr. of Wichita, KS; three sisters, Emily McMullin of Wichita, KS, Sammy Pauline Russell of Colby, KS, and Princess Lynn Smith of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include daughter Sandra Brown, and her husband Bryan; sister Joanne Ziegler; sister-in-law Karen Lowery; 1 grandson Jason Reida and wife Tia; and one great-grandchild Emberly  She was preceded in death by a son Sam; and brothers Darwin and Leon Lowery.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Norwich United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.  Burial will be in the Hunt Cemetery.

William’s life began on February 12, 1963 in Miami, Florida. He was the loving son of Enrique Antonio and Alida (Garcia) Cardonnè. William was a 1981 graduate of Bell High School in Bell, California. He also attended the El Camino Community College in Bell, California. 

William was united in marriage to Roxana Patricia Nolasco on August 12, 1994 in Hawthorne, California. To this union were three children, Vanessa, Nathan, and Jared.

William served as a pastor at El Camino Church in McPherson, Kansas until he had a debilitating stroke in 2019. William enjoyed serving the Lord on mission trips, working with children and youth, served as an interpreter for the Rice County Court system and Rice County School District. He also enjoyed his family, traveling, cooking, his KU memorabilia.

His loving family includes his wife, Roxana of the home; three children, Vanessa Pimblott (Jonny) of St. Louis, Missouri, Nathan Cardonnè (Roxanne) of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Jared Cardonnè (Esmee) of St. Louis; a brother, Enrique Cardonnè (Esther) of Cudahay, California; 5 grandchildren, Josue, Judah, Jesse, Yasiel, Lena; 2 nephews, Richard and Andy and 1 niece, Ileene.  

William was preceded in death by his parents. William passed away at the Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the age of 58 years old. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home. His memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was born May 18, 1934 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Walter A. and Johanne H. (Nelsen) Freeman. On December 21, 1952 she married Frank E. Bowlby in Eureka Springs, AR, to this union they were blessed with six children, Clifford, Jerry, Clinton, Bruce, Roxane and Frank.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; a brother, Walt Stockton, and a sister, Helen Cole.

Lois is survived by her five sons, Clifford Bowlby, Jerry (Sandy) Bowlby, Clinton Bowlby, Bruce Bowlby and Frank Bowlby; one daughter, Roxane (J.R) Baggarly; 29 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Hutchinson – Donald M. Frye, 89, died June 3, 2021 at Hutchinson Health and Rehab, Hutchinson. He was born March 13, 1932 in Zainzville, OH., the son of Norris and Vera (Hansen) Frye. He was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. A Hutchinson resident most of his life, he and his wife owned Mom’s Attic, Hutchinson. He had also worked for Rainbow Bakery and Dillon’s Bakery. He was a member of Crossroad’s Christian Church. He married Janice L. DeWater on October 4, 1952 in Hutchinson. She died on March 21, 2013.

Donald enjoyed being a baseball coach, Cub Scout leader and spending his time fishing and going to garage sales. He loved his wife, children and all of his grandchildren dearly and loved spending his time with them. Other survivors include two sons, Donald (Mary) Frye, Jr., Wichita and Randy (Denise) Frye, Lawrence, two daughters, Lori (Richard) Kerwood, Towanda, and Lisa (Jerry) Taylor, Hutchinson, a brother, James (Pam) Frye, Hutchinson, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Charles E. Lanzrath, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 28, 2021, while on vacation at Beaver Lake (AR). Charlie was born in Wichita, KS on November 23, 1949, son of Duane and Rosemarie (Faber) Lanzrath.

Charlie attended St. Patrick Grade School, Bishop Carroll High School and graduated from Wichita State University. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. Charlie was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Post #2. Charlie worked for Santa Fe Railroad, Central Kansas Railroad and retired from Westar Energy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Betty (Elizabeth) Lanzrath of Newton, daughters Jill (Slade) Engstrom, Benton, KS; Nancy Lanzrath, Lihue, HI, and Kelsey (Trey) Cleaveland, Wichita, KS; four grandchildren who know him as Bobo, Tessa, Teagan, Michael and Saylor; exchange student/daughter Tami Gongora, São Paulo, Brazil; brother Donald (Sandie) Lanzrath, Newton, sisters Beverly Klag, Mary Lou (Tom) Beskett, Andover and Virginia (Tom) Zackula, Wichita,  and numerous nieces and nephews.  Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth.

He loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally. He could fix most anything and was skilled at moving furniture; learning it as a child with his dad and brothers.  He was an expert storyteller and driving instructor. He loved finding people the perfect gift to fit their personalities. Garage and estate sales were all about the thrill of the hunt. He loved fishing and hunting or any adventure as long as you were willing to wake up before sunrise to get a head start. He could find common ground with anyone.

The Rosary Vigil will be celebrated at 6 pm Thursday, June 3, 2021, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Friday, June 4, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton, KS. Services arranged by Petersen Funeral Home, Newton, KS. Services will be available to be viewed online.

Donna Lorraine Forsberg, 89, of Lindsborg passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Bethany Home, Lindsborg. Donna was born June 1, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Francis Arthur “Art” and Alma Caroline (Holden) Swenson.  

Donna graduated from Concordia High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bethany College.  She was married to Kenneth Forsberg on May 24, 1953 in Norway, Kansas.

Donna was a school teacher in Lindsborg and Salina.  She also worked as a paraprofessional for special education in Lindsborg.  Donna was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Lindsborg community, where she was a Meals on Wheels volunteer.  She served on the Bethany College Alumni Council, and was the former secretary and a volunteer on the Lindsborg Pride Committee.  Donna was also a former member and president of the AlKaid Federated Club. 

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Kenneth; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Lewis and Nadine Sole and Paul and Romeyn Nordell; and brother-in-law: Edwin Pick

Survivors include her daughter: Rochelle Glover (Rick) of Newton, KS; son: Brad Forsberg (Jill) of Lindsborg, KS; grandchildren: Brianne Whitley (Zach), Brooke Glover, Allison Forsberg; Megan Forsberg, and Garrett Forsberg; sister: Marian Pick; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Shirley and Jon Sjogren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Tina Rae Harris, 66, of Buhler, KS passed away suddenly on May 29, 2021. She was born in Boyd, Kentucky and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. Tina was the daughter of the late Ernest Frazier and Levonia Virginia (Riffe) Frazier.

She was a lifelong, loving fan of the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees, but her love for her teams was not as much as her love for her grandchildren. Tina was known for her kind heart, generosity, and contagious smile. Hook ‘em Horns!

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Carl Thomas Harris, Buhler; stepson, Carl Robert Shircliff, Ohio; sons, Robert (Victoria) Graf, Kansas and Zachary (Keriann) Harris, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Kailee, Max, Emma, Carly, Noah, Austin, Ellie, Allison, and Zeke; two sisters, Sheila Hayes, Florida and Donna Frazier, Indiana; one brother, Ernie Frazier,  Indiana; and several nieces &amp; nephews

Tina was preceded in death by her sisters, Jenny Lynn Frazier and Joyce Toney.

Ronald John “Ron” Dryden, 65, died May 30, 2021, at Pine Village, Moundridge.  He was born December 1, 1955, in Larned, to Robert Scott and Velda Lenora (Ernsting) Dryden.

Ron graduated from Larned High School in 1974.  He worked on the family farm, before finding his passion as an over-the-road truck driver, typically hauling hazardous material.  Ron enjoyed gardening, hunting, and welding.  He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, Hutchinson.

In November 2007, he married Linda (Taylor) Bock, in Las Vegas, NV. 

Ron is survived by:  wife, Linda; siblings, Glenda Elaine Schuft (Ronny), Harold William Dryden (Valerie), and Marvin Wayne Dryden (Janelle); children, Diane Lika (Endri), Michael Dryden (Belen) , Wyatt Dryden (Ingrid),  and Leslie Ziola (Jeramie); stepdaughters, Crystal Thiessen (Jacob) and Carissa Bock (CJ); 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary.  Burial will follow in the Burrton Cemetery.  Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Patricia “Patty” Ann Beaushaw, 65, of Halstead, passed away on May 17, after a fierce battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Patty, born on November 12, 1955, to Nancy and Robert Mandeville in Sterling, KS, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world as the youngest of 6.

In 1972, she met Gordon and the two were inseparable from that point on. Patty and Gordon were married for 46 years and had 4 daughters, Wendy, Jody, Kasey, and Ashley.

Patty was a lovingly devoted mom to her children, raising all 4 of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to Patty, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Patty was predeceased by her parents in 2002 and 2003. She is survived by her husband, all of her brothers and sisters, her 4 daughters, and her 9 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 6th at 7:00 pm.  Join us at The Ark Church, 5501 N. Maize Rd, Maize, to celebrate her new life in Heaven.

W. Roy Ralston, 105, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at South Wind Home. He was born April 3, 1916 on a farm Southeast of Kismet in Seward County to Walter R and Florence (Thompson) Ralston. Walter married Ila F. (Covey) Ralston on May 15, 1937 in Pratt. They were married for 82 years when she preceded him in death on December 19, 2019.

Roy moved to Pratt County in 1930. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the 20th Infantry in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He owned and operated Ralston Trucking Service (R &amp; R Truck) for 16 years. He was a manager and salesman for Mid Kansas Irrigation. He was a member of Pratt Elks and Pratt Saddle Club. He enjoyed horses and spending time with grandson and great-grandsons and welding.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Ralston (Bobby Stone) Slade of Euless, Texas; grandson, Jeff (Amy) Slade of Haviland; and great-grandsons, Wyatt, Buck, Justin and Tucker Slade.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ila F. Ralston.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at Sunset Cemetery, Cullison with John Hamm presiding.

W. Roy Ralston |1916-2021|

Kenneth Edward Knight was born on August 7, 1938, in Lyons, Kansas, to Chester Knight and Martha Mildred Cain. He was raised in Rice County and left his earthly home on May 30, 2021 at the age of 82. 

In 1957, Kenny married JoAnna McCoy and had five children: Kathy, Phil, Judi, John and Mark. Kenny and Tamara married in 1990. Together, they raised her children, Lindsay and Ryan. Kenny attended country school before switching to town schools and graduated from Lyons High with the Class of 1956. He played football while attending Garden City Community College, then farmed for a short while in Scott County before returning to Lyons. 

Kenny was a passionate farmer and cattleman. He, along with his father and brother, Donnie, formed Knight Farms in 1961. In 1972, they expanded their business and built Knight Feedlot. Other business interests included Bar K Bar Trucking and grazing cattle in the Flint Hills. Serving on the board of Innovative Livestock Services was one of Kenny’s most favored ventures of all. Kenny received many awards and recognition in the agricultural world including the Stockman of the Year award by the Livestock and Meat Industry Council at Kansas State University, Lyons Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen Award, and Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation Wall of Honor. His most prized accomplishment was to have served as president of the Kansas Livestock Association in 1980. 

Kenny firmly believed in forming business partnerships, especially when they benefited the cattle industry and local community. He had an interest in working with other community members and was instrumental in the development of the Rice County Community Foundation, Celebration Centre and Bar K Bar Arena in Lyons. He also served on a variety of boards and was a founding member of Kansas Ethanol in Rice County. Being a member of the First Christian Church, Rice County Community Foundation, Beef Marketing Group, and Cattlemen’s Beef Board was especially important to him. 

Kenny was a farmer at heart. Harvest meant long hours on the combine, but he loved it and welcomed riders of all ages. If you were one of the lucky ones to ride along, you would become educated on all things agriculture related, and hear stories from the past. One of his messages was that it’s always important to leave things better than you found them. During the winters, Kenny enjoyed woodworking and spent many hours in his wood shop. Every family member possesses at least one of his creations: cradles, time-out benches, potting benches, treasure chests, cutting boards, and furniture of all sizes. 

Christmas was Kenny’s favorite holiday, and he loved making it special for his children and grandchildren. Somehow, Santa always made a guest appearance, much to the delight of all who had gathered. Family Christmas caroling was especially fun, singing on the porches of many rural neighbors. An avid K-State fan, Kenny didn’t miss a home football game for decades. It was a time and place for connecting with family and friends, old and new. One of Kenny’s Saturday traditions was wearing a pair of lucky purple socks, which he is wearing into eternity! 

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and David Knight, his wife, JoAnna Knight, a daughter, Judith Knight Hutton, and two sons, Phillip Alan Knight and K. John Knight. He is survived by his wife Tamara, of the home, daughter Kathryn Knight Maxwell (Mark), of Manhattan, son Mark Knight (Sherri) of Lyons, daughter Lindsay Hufnagel (Shad) of Manhattan, son Ryan Boltz (Holly) of Lyons, daughter-in-law Susie Knight Loges of Lyons, and brother Don Knight (RuthAnn) of Marion, Texas. Kenny and Tamara have 17 grandchildren: Kelsey, Sarah, Amanda, Aaron, Alisha, Ericka, Rachel, Taylor, Eddie, Alyse, Chelsi, Luke, Adri, Alle, Hadley, Greysyn, Emry, and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues who became lifetime friends. Kenny was an honest man of faith, led a Christian life, and believed in enjoying life. He loved his family dearly and proudly served his community.

Beverly Renee Enterkin, 60, died May 30, 2021.

She was born Feb. 24, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of Lamar and Bobbie Plumley Chestnut.&nbsp; She was a homemaker.

Beverly was a member of the Church of Christ of Kingman, Kansas.

On March 17, 1990, she married Joe Enterkin at Wisner, Louisiana.&nbsp; Other survivors include her mother Bobbie; sons Joseph Enterkin and Kennith Norris; daughter Christina Irwin; brother Larry Chestnut; and 6 grandchildren.

Gene was retired from Kraus Plow; and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Gary Joseph Williams, Jr., 44, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at his home in McPherson.&nbsp;&nbsp;He worked for the McPherson County Highway Department.&nbsp;

Gary was born on March 9, 1977, in Modesto, CA, the son of Gary Joseph Williams, Sr. and Sheryl Ann (Clem) Williams.&nbsp;&nbsp;On June 18, 2014, Gary was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Deist in McPherson.

Survivors include: his wife, Patricia of the home; three sons, Robert Buchmann, Gary Williams, III of McPherson, KS, and Michael Williams of McPherson, KS; two step-sons, James Gesaman of McPherson, KS and Matthew Gesaman of McPherson, KS; a brother, Romie Williams of McPherson, KS; sister, Sabrina McQueen; granddaughter, Willow Williams; step-father, Mike Sexton; mother-in-law, Catherine Deist of McPherson, KS; and many extended family and friends.

Mereko Barker, 92, of Hutchinson, passed away May 30, 2021, at her home. She was born January 10, 1929, in Tokyo, Japan, to Dinbae and Eku Horiguchi.

Mereko graduated from high school in Tokyo in 1947. Following high school, she worked as a clerk at Camp Zama, Yokohama, Japan, a U.S. Army Base which was a logistics and staging area for troops on their way to fight in Korea. There she met Sgt. Fred Allen Barker, who was recovering from wounds sustained in battle. They were married on August 5, 1954, at the base.

Mereko and Fred settled in the Hutchinson area, where Mereko worked for a time at Wesley Towers, as a Matron at the Reno County Jail, and then at Lowen Corporation, where she made signs for over 20 years. She attended Walnut and Campbell Church of Christ.

Mereko was completely dedicated to her family and loved to cook. She also loved country music, old westerns, nature, and especially German Shepherd dogs.

Mereko is survived by: her children, Terry Barker (Penny) of Hutchinson, Dian Barker (Ralph Ganeles) of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Kali and Madyson Ganeles, Ian Mosher (Jihye), Shylah Boyle (Jeff); 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Fred, who died November 30, 2001; daughter, Marilyn; and beloved pets, Bo and Cheetah.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Sterling Community Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Kenneth Ray Dickson, 69, of Galva, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at Ascension via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.&nbsp; He was born January 4, 1952 in Minneapolis, Kansas, the son of Ollie and Helen (Philips) Dickson.

He grew up in the Minneapolis and Salina area and graduated from Salina High School with the class of 1970.&nbsp; He has lived in the Galva/Moundridge area since the late 1980’s.

Kenneth was united in marriage to Diane Doan on July 1, 1991 in Moundridge, Kansas.&nbsp; She survives of the home.

Kenneth was a machinist and worked maintenance at Plains Plastics and Chemstar of McPherson.&nbsp; He was previously employed at Kansas Jack in McPherson and Agco Corporation in Hesston, retiring in 2017.

He enjoyed fishing and automobile racing.

Kenneth is also survived by his daughters, Karen Dickson of Moundridge and Mary Dickson of Galva; stepson, Robert Langfitt of McPherson; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ollie “Dick” (Linda) Dickson, Russell “Rusty” (Mary) Dickson, and Charlie (Jo) Dickson, all of Salina; and sister, Kay (Chris) Christiancy of Salina.

Carolyn Jean (Neufeld) Buhler, 71, passed away Saturday May 29, 2021 at Mennonite Friendship Community in South Hutchinson, KS.&nbsp; She was born July 5, 1949 in McPherson, KS.

On December 19, 1969 Carolyn married James Buhler and lived in Canada where their children were born, until 1984 when she moved back to Inman, KS with the children. &nbsp;

Carolyn loved the Lord and served Him in various ways.&nbsp; She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and spent most of her life working with children.&nbsp; Before she retired, she changed careers and worked at the nursing home doing what she loved most, making crafts and singing with the residents.&nbsp; She loved her family and always looked for opportunities to send gifts for special occasions or make birthday cakes for the grandchildren.&nbsp;

Carolyn is survived by her son Tim Buhler (Nicolle) and their children, Jordyn, Holly, Caleb, Nathaniel and Benjamin; daughter Tammy Galloway (Scott) and their children, Joshua, Levi, Bella, Christian, Joseph, Evie and Ruthie; and son/nephew Jason Herren (Lacey) and their son, Cody; 2 sisters, Betty Hamm and Faye Grounds and brother Leland Neufeld (Jolene), niece Christin Grounds, and nephew Christopher Grounds (Sherinda) and their 3 children.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Larry Dee Becker, 86, of Canton, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2021, surrounded by family at Riverview Estates, Marquette.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a farmer and dairyman.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also worked in maintenance at Central Plastics and in the oil fields as a driller and roughneck.&nbsp;

Larry was born on January 16, 1935, in McPherson, KS, the son of Kermit P. and Sophia C. (Unruh) Becker.&nbsp;&nbsp;On October 6, 1957, Larry was united in marriage to Goldie Marie Clarkson in Larned, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;She preceded him in death on January 9, 2013.&nbsp;

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a member of the Canton American Legion and McPherson V.F.W.&nbsp;&nbsp;He attended Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: four children, Reba Becker (Duane) of Lindsborg, KS, Stephanie Becker (Eric Peterson) of Olathe, KS, Justin Becker of Canton, KS, and Denise Taylor (Mike) of Canton, KS; siblings, Marion Becker (Carolyn) of Montezuma, KS, Gordon Becker (Carolyn) of Kirksey, KY, and Dale Becker (Joyce) of Siloam Springs, AR; a granddaughter, Monica Diederich; two step-grandchildren, Brandon Taylor and Holly Leiker; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

Joann Ilene Danley, 90, went to be with the Lord May 30, 2021 at Pratt Health and Rehab Center.

She was born January 13, 1931 in Pratt to William Everett and Hallie Pearl (Alexander) Baker.

Joann married Stanley D. Petrie, May 12, 1951. They were married for 27 years.

She married Lawrence A. Danley May 18, 1985 in Pratt, Kansas. Lawrence passed away April 26, 1991.

Joann graduated Pratt High School in 1949. She worked for the Clerk of the District Court of Pratt County.

Her faith in God was always an important part of her life and she was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Church, where she taught children's Sunday School and played the piano for worship services. Joann had a heart for volunteer service and was a member of PRMC Hospital Auxiliary, helped with the Pratt County Fair through Cairo EHU and was a lifetime member of Glendale Mother's Club. She was a founding member and the first president of the South Central Special Education Cooperative, which worked to bring special education into public schools. Gardening and raising flowers was something she enjoyed, along with playing cards, especially pitch.

She is survived by Daughter, Patricia (Roger) Shippy of Pratt, KS; Sons, David Petrie of Pratt, Daniel (Mary) Petrie of Garden City, KS, Brother, Garry Baker of Stafford, KS; Sister, Darlene Mayberry of Weatherford, TX; Two Step Sons, Keith (Laticia) Danley of AZ, Tim (Laurel) Danley of Rapid City, SD; and Step Daughter, Pricilla Danley; .

She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a soon to arrive great, great grandson, 9 step grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren.

Doug was born on April 14, 1956, in Salina, KS, the son of Elden R. and Phyllis J. (Miller) Keeslar. He graduated from Burr Oak High School in Burr Oak, MI in 1976, and had been a McPherson resident since 1982.

He graduated from Burr Oak High School in Burr Oak, MI in 1976, and had been a McPherson resident since 1982.Survivors include: his parents, Elden &amp; Phyllis Keeslar of Inverness, FL; three siblings, Philip Keeslar (Somwong) of Singapore, Greg Keeslar of McPherson, KS, and Rebecca Burton of Inverness, FL; aunts and uncles, Ron &amp; Pat Anderson of McPherson, KS, Kathie &amp; Doug Unruh of McPherson, KS, Doug &amp; Vicki Vollmer of Kanopolis Reservoir, KS, and Jackie Eberle of Herscher, IL; three nephews, Clint Bohling of Portland, OR, Matt Keeslar of Seoul, South Korea, and Jack Keeslar of Honolulu, HI; a niece, Eva Keeslar of Bothell, WA; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and numerous cousins.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, June 4, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Douglas Elden Keeslar |1956-2021|

Dwayne’s life began on December 6, 1927, in Herington.  He was the son of Charles and Edith (Schuster) Stroda.  Dwayne is a 1946 graduate of Herington High School.  He was united in marriage to Delores M. Bezdek on May 1, 1954, in Marion.  Dwayne was a lifelong farmer and rancher in rural Herington.  He was a parishioner of St. John’s Catholic Church in Herington and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Dwayne was a member of the Farm Bureau and the US Custom Harvesters Association.  He loved spending time with his friends over coffee at the coffee shop and enjoyed creating metalworks.  Dwayne was a people person, he never knew a stranger and genuinely loved people.  He enjoyed card club and supper club and loved to travel. Dwayne and Delores traveled to Hawaii on an anniversary trip, and to nearly all 50 states. He and Delores also enjoyed bus trips to the casino with friends.  He enjoyed his family and family reunions.  

Dwayne’s loving family includes his children Darrell (Laurie) Stroda of Pratt, Chuck (Kim) Stroda of Abbottstown, PA, Pat (Kathryn) Carpenter of Oceanside, CA and Mary (Gordon) Schroeder of Herington, and son in law Bill Suenram of Salina; his grandchildren Hayley ( Tony) Ferris, Nick Suenram, Ben Suenram, Sadie Suenram, Gordon M. (Mary) Schroeder, Jason (Lisa) Schroeder, Erik Schroeder, Matt Stroda, Lindsay (Tom) Schuurman, and Josh Carpenter; 20 great-grandchildren and his siblings Ralph Stroda, Oraina Schump, LaVada Holub, sister in law Rosemary Stroda and several nieces and nephews.  Dwayne passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Geary Community Hospital.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores, daughter Pam Suenram, and brother Dean Stroda.  

His family will gather with friends on Friday, June 4th from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Herington where his Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5th at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Herington led by Father Peter O’Donnell.  Dwayne will be laid to rest in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Herington.

Shirley K. Bartel, 75, died May 30, 2021 at Salem Home in Hillsboro. She was born November 25, 1945 in McPherson County to Alvin and Mabel (Hanson) Johnson. She married Gilbert Bartel July 23, 1965 in McPherson. 

Survivors include: son, Steve (Krista) Bartel of Rural Hillsboro; daughters, Kris Spence, Jenny (Jeff) Wells of McPherson; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Gilbert Bartel in 2005.
