Patricia Lynn Frazier, 86, died July 10 at the Cedars care facility in McPherson. Pat was a friend of many, a talented businesswoman, loyal member of the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish, and an example of both warmth and grit to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared most of her life’s adventures with her husband, Louie, whom she was married to for 64 years before his death in 2016. One of her favorite sayings conveyed the wisdom of humility – “Pride Goeth Before a Fall.” She was born Patricia Kingsbury in 1933, the first child in a family with pioneer heritage in Dickinson County, Kansas. She grew up on the farm near Carlton that her great grandparents had homesteaded in 1870, and drove grain trucks to the elevators in Elmo and Carlton well before she was old enough to apply for a driver’s license. Her early years coincided with the depths of the Great Depression. When her sister Joan died while still a toddler, the family couldn’t afford a burial plot so Joan was buried in a spot donated by relatives in a nearby town. Besides farming, her father also was a pianist who passed along his love of music to her. She started on piano and blossomed into a saxophone player who graced the band at Kansas State University for two years. She continued with piano for many years, teaching piano lessons in McPherson, and introducing music to her children via the piano, though all three fled the piano bench as soon as they were old enough to wriggle away to other instruments. She entered K-State the same month she turned 17, and earned her teacher’s certificate in 22 months. In 1952, as she turned 19, she got her first teacher’s contract earning $300 a month (and $2 for every county and state teacher’s meeting she attended). She taught school in a one-room schoolhouse in Carlton, where she claimed that her most ornery student was her little brother, Steve. Then she was promoted to principal of a two-room school in Hope. As she began her teaching career, she married her boyfriend Louie, whom she had met while in high school at Chapman. Louie worked for the railroad, then later went to work for the Safeway grocery chain. Safeway sent the young couple to Arkansas City, Emporia and Anthony before they landed in McPherson in 1959, where they moved into a home in the then-new Eastmoor Addition. In McPherson, Pat began her 60-year membership in St. Joseph’s parish, including many years involvement with the Altar Society. She also was a member of PEO, a Cub Scout den mother, and a diligent and fearsome competitor in many bridge clubs. Weekends were split between time at her parents’ farm – she helped with wheat harvest well into the 1980’s – or on hobbies that included golf, boating, and enjoying RV life at the lake. She studied to become certified as a Master Gardener by K-State Extension Service, and helped organize garden events in McPherson. Pat was a substitute teacher in McPherson in the early 1960’s, and in the mid-1960’s began her financial services career with a job at Farmers Alliance Insurance. She loved the challenge at Farmers Alliance, but was frustrated by the sense that her work was not as highly valued as the work of men doing the same job. At one point, when she believed she was being underpaid relative to her male peers, she went to her manager to ask for equal pay. Instead, she was told, “We don’t need to pay women the same as men because wives have husbands to support them and their family.” She was livid, and went home to tell her children, who benefited from that early lesson in workplace equity. On another occasion, she ranked first in a class to learn underwriting skills, but as the only woman in the class she was denied a plaque commemorating completion of the course. When she complained, she was given a Xerox copy of the plaque that the men had received, with her name scratched in by hand. Later, she helped open the local branch of Columbia Savings &amp; Loan, an Emporia-based S&amp;L, and remained branch manager and Vice President for several years. She also worked for a local insurance agency, before temporarily retiring. She unretired when Louie expanded his paint and home furnishings store on North Main Street, Frazier Interiors, and she remained Louie’s business partner and decorating specialist until they sold the store a decade ago. Louie and Pat instilled a love of adventure and historic curiosity in their children. They traveled by car to destinations like Florida, New Orleans, Colorado, Texas and Yellowstone Park -- long summer vacations that included visits to relatives, historic sites and natural landmarks. A feature of trips with Pat was her regular instructions to Louie to pull over and read any historic landmark sign that popped up along the roadside, just to make sure her kids learned a tiny bit of history as they roamed (In later years, she denied responsibility for imprinting the story on her children that Coronado himself built the picnic castle atop Coronado Heights). She helped keep expenses down by lugging along a large electric skillet to cook fried Spam sandwiches in the motel room at night. Pat and Louie continued to travel into their late 70’s, visiting furniture shows, the son who started a new life in Washington DC, and the other son who lured them abroad, to his temporary homes in Mexico City and London. In 2009, Pat fought and won a harrowing, life-threatening battle against a cerebral aneurysm, resulting in emergency surgery and months in recovery. Despite doubts by doctors she would survive, she emerged strong, witty, loving and energetic, prepared for a final decade of life enjoying her friends, many hands of bridge, and a growing family. After years of gentle persuasion, she also helped Louie convert to Catholicism in the final years of his life, which gave them both great joy as he helped contribute to the St. Joseph’s community. She slowed down moderately after Louie’s death in 2016, but continued to enjoy life until her health took a sharp turn for the worse in the past several weeks as her Alzheimer’s quickly advanced. In the final days of her life, one topic of conversation that seemed to bring her joy was tales of wheat harvests past and present, the impact of weather forecasts on crop yields, and the challenges of hustling a cold six-pack of Coors out to the combine before it would grow warm in the late June heat. She is survived by three children: Greg Frazier, Washington, D.C.; Steve Frazier and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Leech, Mercer Island, Washington; and Marcia Frazier-Boos, Wichita. Larry Nisly, 78, of Hutchinson, died August 18, 2021, at his home. He was born September 27, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Edward D. and Elizabeth (Yoder) Nisly.

Larry was the owner and operator of Midwest Farm and Dairy Supply for 46 years. He was a member of Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church, where he served with steady faithfulness on various committees. Larry valued education; he served as board member of Pilgrim Christian School for twenty-five years, and as high school administrator for much of that time. He also served eight years on the board of Prairie View Mental Health in Newton. Larry enjoyed singing and gardening. He valued relationships, and treasured times with his grandchildren. Larry sought ways to serve others, and was particularly known by customers and community members for his listening ear.

On June 4, 1967, Larry married Barbara Miller, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, Stan Nisly (Carol) of Altamont, Rod Nisly (Sylvia) of Nickerson, Jeanene Nisly (Wendell) of Harrisonburg, VA, Angela Schmucker (Abner) of Hutchinson, Andrea Troyer (Leon) of Bourbon, IN, Brad Nisly (Rosa) of Hutchinson; 29 grandchildren; brother, John F. Nisly (Sara Mae) of Hutchinson; sister, Barbara Ellen Miller (David E.) of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Edna Nisly of Abbeville, SC, Iva Nisly and Cora Nisly of Hutchinson; brother-in-law, Paul Nisly (Nancy) of Grantham, PA; and numerous extended family members.

He was born April 13, 1995, in Wichita the son of Orrin and Renee Fairchild Westerman.&nbsp; A longtime resident of Kingman, he was a farm laborer.

Josh was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman.

She was born March 9, 1926 in Augusta, Kansas, the daughter of Homer and Clara Corral Thomas. Ora graduated from Chase High School, Chase, Kansas, with the class of 1944. She has resided in Lyons since 1976, formerly of Midland, Texas. Ora cleaned houses and was a housewife. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and even made some of her own clothing. On June 20, 1947, Ora was united in marriage with Walter William Vaughn in McPherson, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Ora is survived by her son, Gary Vaughn of Lyons; and a cousin, Phillip Morris and wife Janice of Ponca City, OK.

Gable M Harrod Jr. (Marty),&nbsp;55, passed away at his home on August 15, 2021 in Bentley Kansas. He was born in Dodge City, to Gable and Elizabeth Harrod.

He enjoyed fishing, working on his truck and wood working. Yet, one of his greatest joys were family get togethers.

He is survived by his sisters Robin &amp; Robert Kroulik and Evelyn &amp; Fred Martin, all of Bentley; and many nieces, nephews and family members.

Justin worked as a chef at Legends for 2 years. He was a member of Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. He enjoyed playing guitar, Nascar, Kansas City Chiefs, playing Playstation, karaoke, attending concerts and making people laugh.

Joseph (Joe) William Myers died on August 12, 2021 at his home in Neosho Rapids, Kansas.

He was born October 5, 1922, in Faulkner, Kansas (Cherokee County) to William W. and Ina (Boyes) Myers. In 1968 he married Dorothy Mahan who survives. Joe grew up in the Galena, Kansas area and attended Brush Creek, Hickory Grove and Empire schools in the area.

He served in the US Army Infantry during WWII in North Africa and Italy for which he was awarded a Bronze Star. Joe was a life member of the Newton VFW post #971.

He retired from Wonder Bread Bakery in Wichita in 1984 where he was a diesel mechanic and transport driver. Joe was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church of Sedgwick.

Joe leaves one son, George Myers of Nob Hill, Arkansas; nephew, Bobby Myers of Baxter Springs, Kansas, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Luis Myers; granddaughter, Trena Jo Myers; daughter-in-law, Joan Myers; son, Carl J. Myers of Missouri; and step-son, Michael Rice.

Jim was born on September 13, 1946, in Benkelman, NE, the son of Arthur Lafayette and Doris Maxine (Goddard) Baker. On May 25, 1964, Jim was united in marriage to Lois D. Curtis in Liberal, KS.

Jim served in the United States Army during Vietnam.

Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Lois of the home; a daughter, Angela Miller (Tim) of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Garett Miller (Bree Alstatt), Marisa Lott (Tanner), Quenten Miller (Brenda), and Teagan Miller (Brittany Bailey); six great-grandchildren, Aiden, Indigo, August, Brogan, Sonja, and Lincon; siblings, Doris Goddard of Liberal, KS, Jackie Jones of Stillwater, OK, Val Jean Wheeler (Jerry) of Apache, OK, and Ronald Baker (Patty) of Yardley, PA; and many extended family and friends.

Delbert Eugene Moore, 85, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 16th, 2021 peacefully at Angel Arms.

Delbert was born in rural Osborne, Kansas on September 21, 1935, a son of Glen Eugene and Mary Laura (Chandler) Moore.

Delbert attended Greenwood Grade School and graduated from Osborne High School, Osborne, Kansas in 1956.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in McPherson.

Delbert worked different jobs through the years including going to California for a couple years to work in vehicle upholstery, worked for Luray Co-op Grain Elevator for 25 years. After moving to McPherson he worked for Blue Beacon Car Wash until he retired in 1999. After Delbert retired he volunteered his time with the McPherson County Food Bank in McPherson.

Delbert was a Lions member in Luray, Kansas.

Delbert Eugene Moore was united in marriage to Loeta Kay Wilcoxson on March 27, 1960 in Osborne, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in rural Osborne. Loeta passed away Jan. 12, 1983.

Delbert Eugene Moore was united in marriage to Jane Dibble on April 27, 1989. This union established their home together in McPherson. This union joined Jane's two sons, Darin and Dorin with Delbert's three daughters and a son, Evelina, Linda, Darwin and Leah to become a blessed family of six.

Through the years Delbert enjoyed working, gardening, limestone projects, walking, fishing with his friend Rodney Borne and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jane Moore, of McPherson, Kansas; his children, Evelina Moore, of Manhattan, Kansas, Linda Mock and her husband John, of Greenville, South Carolina, Darwin Moore, of Ravenna, Nebraska, Leah Cochran and her husband Danny, of Russell, Kansas, Darin Nelson and his wife Teresa, of Galva, Kansas and Dorin Nelson, of Marquette, Kansas; his sister Carolyn McKinney, of Olathe, Kansas.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren - Crystal, Annie, Joseph(Miranda), Nathan, Josey, Zachary, Gabriel(Sarah), Seth(Megan), Ethan, Alicia and Jason(Michelle).

4 great grandchildren, Adalyn, Emerson, Natalie and Logan.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loeta and his brother, Donald.

Randy proudly served in the US Marines Corp Reserve Unit.  He was a graduate of Wichita State University.  He worked in the insurance industry for 30+ years before retiring.

Clyde Richard Goering, a lifelong resident of Moundridge, left this earth at the age of 83 surrounded by his family. He was born August 28, 1937, to Jonas and Katie Goering, the youngest of 12 children. He was baptized at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge.

Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Felice A. Goering, of the home.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Katie Goering; nine siblings and nine in-laws—Meta Juhnke (William), Elmer Goering (Linda), Mary Ann Preheim (Delbert), Laura Krehbiel (Reuben), Harvey Goering (Viola), Philip Goering, Rueben Goering, Emil Goering (Lavina), Marvin Stucky, Donald Goering (Loua), Patricia Goering; and one grandson, Avery Miller.

Clyde attended Pioneer grade school and graduated from Moundridge High School in 1955. He then took his studies to Bethel College, where he graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. A Master of Science degree in Education from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia in 1970 rounded out his studies.

Following their graduation from Bethel and marriage on May 25,1959, Clyde and Felice began a voluntary service assignment at Junior Village in Washington DC, serving until 1961. They returned to Clyde’s home place to farm and start their family. Farming was Clyde’s passion. He loved working the land his father had worked and reaping the harvest. He grew the wheat Felice used for her wheat weaving. After cleaning the wheat for her, he learned how to spin the wheat into threads. He also learned how to weave some wheat on his own! He was Felice’s right-hand-man when they went to shows, events and their annual meeting of the National Association of Wheat Weavers.

In addition to farming, Clyde taught at Harmony, Liberty, and Cloverleaf schools before completing his teaching career at Moundridge Junior High School. He also coached Junior High boys’ basketball, served as custodian at Eden Mennonite Church, and worked at the Co-op in Goessel, KS, retiring in 2002.

In high school and college, Clyde was active in sports, playing basketball and running track. After college, he played second base with the Bachman Oilers softball team. He was involved in music groups throughout his life as well, playing saxophone in high school, singing in the Bethel College choir, the Eden Mennonite Church choir, the Kansas Mennonite Men’s Choir and the Newton Chorale and many Masterworks concerts at Bethel College.

After his retirement Clyde had more time to enjoy his many hobbies which included playing golf and pool with the guys (and making a hole in one on March 1, 2021, at the Goessel golf course), gardening and attending his grandchildren’s activities. His greatest love was his family. Nothing made him happier than gathering with relatives, whether that be a Christmas gathering, Easter dinner, or a family reunion with his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. While he was a bit outnumbered with six women in the house, his patience and love never failed. He will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, bridge partner, pool team member and golf partner.

Family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021 at Moundridge Funeral Home.  A celebration of life will be on Saturday, August 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Eden Mennonite Church, rural Moundridge, KS. LeWayne Edale Tresner, 58, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Hutchinson Medical Center. He was born on October 14, 1962 in Garden City to Lee and Lenora (Sharp) Tresner. LeWayne married Rebecca (Torson) Tresner on April 16, 1987 in Scott City, Kansas. They were married for 34 years.

LeWayne worked as a Tool Pusher in the oilfield for Sterling Drilling and Southwind. He enjoyed plants, fishing, hunting with his brothers and watching sports. He was a very humorous man and loved to give everyone a hard time especially his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; sons, Tyler Tresner of Wichita and Joshua Dearden of Iuka; brothers, Leon Tresner of Wichita and Lee Tresner of Texas; sisters, Norma (Jim) White of Virginia, Noralee Bertholf of Dodge City and Nona Tresner of Garden City; and grandchildren, Zachary Dearden and Bella Dearden both of Pratt, Tristen Dearden of Pretty Prairie, Veronica Tresner, Adrian Tresner and Cruz Tresner all of Pratt.

LeWayne is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dustin Ray Dearden; brothers, Leland Tresner and Les Tresner; twin sister, Natalie Tresner; brother in-laws, Phil Bertholf and Freddy Valverde; and sister in-laws, Kathy Tresner, Rose Tresner and Mary Tresner.

Peggy Thompson, 88, passed away 15 August 2021. Peggy was born in 1932 in rural Kearney County, the daughter of Earl Johnson and Florence (Kearns). Peggy attended school in Hopewell, where she met and married, Loren Thompson, in 1948. The couple relocated to Syracuse, Kansas in 1950, where they farmed and raised their family. Other than 3 years helping her husband run the Daylight Donut in Dodge City, most of Peggy’s life was spent as a homemaker, and a wonderful caring mother to their 8 children. Peggy loved to cook, and she was renowned for her homemade cinnamon rolls, and her egg noodles. Peggy also enjoyed gardening, driving trips, camping, fishing, and playing all games. She was a member of the Macksville Christian Church and the VIP Center in Macksville. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Loren Thompson, daughters, Susan Myers and Kathryn Kimbrough. She is survived by her, daughter, Patricia (Patrick) Goodwin, of Brighton, CO., son, Tom (Deborah) Thompson, of Ulysses; son, Gary (Tammy) Thompson, of Hudson; daughter, Denise (Dickie) Diehl, of Halstead;&nbsp; daughter, Donna (Bill) Culver, of Garden City; and daughter, Anita Scott, of Macksville,&nbsp; 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 10 great, great-grandchildren. She married Daniel L. Letourneau on August 5, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV. . 

Karen is survived by her husband: Daniel L. Alice Cash Mills, 78, of Hutchinson, died August 15, 2021, in Denver, Colorado. She was born April 28, 1943, in Mexico, Missouri, to Juanita (Gribble) and Billy Jim Cash.  Alice graduated from Abilene High School in 1961, and went on to earn a BA in Art Education from the University of Kansas in 1965.

While at KU, Alice was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, where she met many life-long friends. It was also at KU where she met her husband, William Merrill Mills III. They were married July 10, 1965, and shared 52 years of marriage before he passed away in 2018.

Alice loved teaching and making art. She could often be found with a sketchbook and colored pencils drawing in her garden. Alice curated a full, colorful life in which she enjoyed her family, gardening, painting, drawing, quilting, and knitting. Alice will be remembered for the ever-present twinkle in her eyes and her ability to capture the beauty of everyday life, whether it be through a colored-pencil drawing, a watercolor painting, or a quilted or knitted piece. She delighted in sharing her talents with those she cared about.

Alice is survived by: her children, Alyssa Mills of Hutchinson, Hilary Lindsey and husband Troy of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, William Mills of Austin, Texas,  James Mills and wife Molly of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Nathalie, Allabelle, Claire, and Eleanor Lindsey, Finley, Lucy, and Anna James Mills; and brothers, Frank Cash and partner Stephen McCoy of San Francisco, California, and Dale Cash of Enterprise, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Jim and Juanita Cash.

Donald Wayne “Don” Cleveland, 89, died August 14, 2021, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson.  He was born September 20, 1931, in Larned, to Loman Henry and Dorothy (Buckman) Cleveland.

Don graduated from Larned High School in 1950, and then attended trade school to be a printer.  He began his career as a newspaper printer for Larned’s Tiller &amp; Toiler, and Dodge City Globe, before retiring from the Hutchinson News, after over 30 years of service. Don was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose #982, and a current member of CrossPoint Church, Hutchinson. He was soft-spoken, and enjoyed tinkering around the house and yard. 

On September 30, 1956, he married Marilyn Jean Nickel, in Great Bend.  She died September 24, 2015, after they shared almost 59 years of marriage.

Don is survived by:  children, Brenda Wandling (Todd) of Sugar Land, TX, and Curtis Cleveland (Laura) of Hutchinson; sisters, Shirley Opp of Lincoln, NE, and Betty Ewing-DeWitt of Haines, AK; grandchildren, Joshua Cleveland (Lindsay), Jeremiah Cleveland, Jacob Cleveland, Tyler Wandling, Ashley Wandling, Noah Cleveland, Caleb Cleveland, and Jordan Baggett; and great-grandchildren, Haley, Heidi, Bradley, Gwendolyn, and Jeremiah, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Robert Cleveland and Clarence Cleveland.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Andy Addis officiating.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Terry Curtis Ray, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on November 18, 1941 in Pratt to Ross and Mary (McNearney) Ray. Terry married Mary Lou Ray in February of 1985 in Canyon City, Colorado.

Terry was a graduate of Pratt High School and UMKC School of Pharmacy. He worked most of his career as a pediatric pharmacist at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.

He is survived by his children, John Ray of Springfield, Missouri and Sara Lohnes of Canyon City, Colorado; grandchildren, Jakob, Chloe, Saylor and Sydney Ray all of Springfield, Missouri; brothers, Keith Ray of Pratt and CJ Ray of Mission, Kansas.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

Marlene was a member of First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi and BPOE Elks Lodge #1451. She enjoyed reading, traveling and following sporting events.

Allen Ray Keough, 49, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, in the presence of family at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He worked as a welder at Agco and Excel Industries in Hesston, KS.

Ronnie Dale Jantz, 68, of Galva, KS, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Pine Village, Moundridge.

Ron was born February 10, 1953, the son of Virgil and Betty (Sitts) Jantz. They moved to Galva where he attended elementary and high school.

He learned to work hard and as a youth. He would ride his bicycle along the roads to collect pop bottles. Later, he would clean after hours at a restaurant and helped run errands for workers pouring cement.

Clock #96 was Ron’s number when he began working at John’s Manville in the Plant Services Department in McPherson. After 30 years, he decided to retire. He then was employed as a custodian at the Smoky Valley Middle School in Lindsborg. The next 11 years, he worked at Farmers Alliance in McPherson. He always had a smile and enjoyed greeting his co-workers.

Ron enjoyed camping with his parents and then with his own family. Riding his bicycle gave him a lot of enjoyment. He was patient teaching his children to ride bikes and then later, driving the car. He was known for always having a “clean” car.

The sound of race cars could be heard in the house on Sundays as Ron enjoyed NASCAR racing. The second year of marriage found Ron and Janis flying to Alabama for the Talladega NASCAR race, not to see relatives, just to attend the race!

Ron was always willing to help family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. When his children began their school days, he volunteered many hours at Elyria Christian School painting, mowing, trimming, and spreading sand for new cement floors. He was always supportive of any activities the family was interested in.

Ron and Janis (Hodson) met at a Christian singles group and were married May 17, 1980, at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson.

It was important for his family to attend church and participate in the weekly activities. For 43 years, Ron enjoyed singing with the Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janis Jantz of Galva, KS; a daughter, Lori Klatt and husband, Bradly of McPherson, KS; a son, David Jantz of St. Joseph, MO and his fiancé, Caitlyn Powell of Manhattan, KS; two grandsons, Rylan and Kasen Klatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 19, 2021, at First United Methodist Church with Pastors Emily Spearman Cannon and Jeanne Koontz officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will follow the service at West Zion Cemetery, Moundridge.

Russell Carter Ehrlich (Russ) was born April 30, 1950 in Colorado Springs Co. Russ died August 15, 2021 in Salina, KS. 

Russell’s parents were Claude King Ganner and Barbara Louise (Waggoner) Ganner. Russell was later adopted by Barbara’s second husband, Clinton Ehrlich. He was a 1968 graduate of Lyons High School. Russell was a member of the Osage Nation. He served his country in Vietnam, before working in various machinist and oil field jobs until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Karen; his brother, David (Carol) Ehrlich of Brandon, FL, and Mark Ehrlich of Raymond, KS; his son, Bobbie (Jerri) Ehrlich of Manter, KS; a daughter, Christina (Britt) Hinkle of Williston, ND; his step-children, Kathy McLean of Little River, KS, and Wendy (Jerry) Parrish of Derby, KS; 7 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his fathers; his mother, and a sister, Anne. 

A graveside service will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery on August 21, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. Service will be directed by the Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons. Because cremation has taken place, there will not be a public visitation before the graveside service. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.

James Lee Bogner, 64, of Burrton, died August 12, 2021, at Harry Hynes Hospice, in Wichita. He was born October 3, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Vernon and Donna Block (Bogner).

James graduated from Haven High School in 1974 and went on to attend Hutchinson Community College to study engineering and music. He was a talented trumpet player and traveled to Europe with tour group of musicians. James was a farmer, and engineer in the agriculture industry, and worked part time at the Moundridge Post Office. He served on the Reno County Drainage District No. 2 board, as well as the Valley Township Cemetery board. James enjoyed woodworking in his early years.

On April 7, 1990, he married Karilynn French in Haven. They shared 31 years of marriage.

James is survived by: his wife, Karilynn Bogner, Burrton; daughter, Stacey; son-in-law; grandchildren; and two nieces.
