Mona’s life began on October 20, 1934 in Waverly, KS. 

She was the daughter of Arthur “Art” and Angela “Ink” (Beemis) Stonebreaker. Mona is a 1952 graduate of Lebo High School. She was united in marriage to Thomas “Wint” Smith on November 14, 1954, at the Lebo United Methodist Church. Wint and Mona were the owners of Wint’s Phillip 66 station in Marion and the Short Stop Store next door. Later in life she retired from her position as a cook at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mona was a long-time member of the Valley United Methodist Church in Marion. She enjoyed cross stitch and needlepoint, word searches, coloring and watching sports. Mona also enjoyed playing the piano. Her greatest joy was her family and friends which includes her children Steve (Stacie) Smith of Marion, and Jay (Judy) Smith of Marion; son in law Randy Hulett of Marion; grandchildren Dusty Hulett, Trevor Smith, Jared Smith, Michelle (Drew) Looper, Tyler (Kendra) Smith, and Jake (Melissa) Smith, all of Marion and Josh Smith of Newton; great grandchildren Brayden, Madisyn, Eldon, Kaden, Tucker, Cole, Max, Tessa, Brylee, Cooper, Weston, Deven, Mazie, Ella and Oliver. 

Mona passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday October 12, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. She is preceded in death by her husband Wint, daughter Teresa Hulett, sisters Sonie Wise and Donna Smith and her parents. Her family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Valley United Methodist Church and she will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery.

RosaLee (Hathaway) Ford, age 90, passed away on Oct. 12, 2021 at her home in Kinsley, KS.  She was born on Aug. 2, 1931 at St. John, the daughter of Robert Thomas and Lovina Belle (Weibling) Hathaway.  She was a professional cook and resident of Kinsley, since 1951. Barbara Hoglund, 83, formerly of Hutchinson, loving wife and mother of two daughters, passed away October 11, 2021, with her family by her side.&nbsp; She was born June 6, 1938, in Russell, to Sarah Edith Palmer and Hadley Palmer.

Barbara began her teaching career in Great Bend, and finished her career teaching business classes at Hutchinson Community College (HCC) and later as the counselor at HCC, retiring with over 33 years of service.&nbsp; In her tenure at HCC, Barbara married another business faculty member, Vern Hoglund.

Barbara is survived by:&nbsp; husband, Vern Hoglund of Spring, TX: daughters, Kirsten (Charles) Schutt and Carrie (Bradley) Hoglund-Carey, both of Houston; and grandchildren, Ethan Schutt, Elizabeth Schutt, Payton Carey, Gracie Carey, and Sailor Carey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Edith Palmer.

Samuel “Sam” Crawford Cave, 75, passed away October 9, 2021, at his home.&nbsp; He was born April 1, 1946, in Enterprise, AL, to Clifford Crawford and Ruth (Thompson) Cave.&nbsp;

Sam graduated from Waggener High School, Louisville, KY, and the local technical college.&nbsp; He retired from Hercules, Inc, a resin plant.&nbsp; Sam enjoyed electronics, small engine repair. gardening, and loved to draw.&nbsp; He especially loved studying his Bible, and sharing the gospel with others. He also gave devotionals in retirement communities and served on his local mission field. &nbsp;Sam was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.

On October 25, 1980, he married Sheila Johnson, in Hattiesburg, MS.&nbsp; They shared almost 41 years of marriage.

Sam is survived by:&nbsp; wife, Sheila of Hutchinson; children, Lisa Churchill of Mayflower, AR, Samuel Cave, Jr. (Amy), and Jessica Cave, all of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Samuel Cave III, James Cave, Zachary Cave, Rebeka McKeehan (Dylan), and Justin Guttery; and great-grandson, Elijah McKeehan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Malone.

Robert L. Nixon, 79 passed away on Sunday, October 10th, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas. Bob was born in Seattle, Washington to Leon and Opal Nixon. He was a life long resident of Wichita, KS. He graduated from Wichita West High School in 1960. Bob was a State Champion in Wrestling. Also, was an All-City Football player. His football team was inducted into the West High School Hall of Fame in October of 2020. After graduation he joined the Marines during the Vietnam War, serving in Japan and Okinawa. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, he became a Car Salesman for various dealerships in Wichita. He also owned his own Car Sales business, Nixon Motor Company.

Bob enjoyed spending time with family, and attended the many sporting events involving his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He went to a fly in fishing camp at Lake Deception in Northern Canada, along with Beaver Lake and the White River near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. As well as many lakes in Kansas including Milford Lake his favorite where he caught many fish, but never won the Big Fish Award!

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Dennis Grigg and Mark Wilkins.

Survived by Linda, his wife of 31 years; children Robert Nixon II, Tara (Dan) Hagemann, Justin Nixon, Brian (Shonda) Watkins, Kevin Watkins, Michelle (Fred) Watkins-Held; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Donna Grigg; brother Doug (Tammy) Nixon; sisters-in-law Shirley Wilkins and Kathy (Ed) Tatro; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be held Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 11 am at Riverlawn Christian Church, 4243 N Meridian, Wichita. Burial will follow at the Valley Center Cemetery, Valley Center.

Michael Lee "Mikey" Formoso, 51, of McPherson, passed away at 6:25 p.m., Saturday, October 9th, 2021 while in the company of family members at McPherson Hospital. Michael was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 31, 1970, son of Manuel A. and Linda J. (Hendrickson) Formoso. Michael attended McWhorter grade school, Vanston Junior High School and attended North Mesquite High School, Mesquite, Texas. He was a member of Hope Community Church in Andover. Michael enjoyed Star Wars movies, fishing, hunting, cooking and loved spending time with his friends and family. Michael Formoso was united in marriage to Melissa Pritchett. The young couple established their first home together in Kleberg, Texas. This union was blessed with two children, step-daughter Kristen and Brittany. He is survived by his daughter Brittany Smith and her husband Keith, of Fort Necessity, Louisiana and his step daughter Kristen Maestas and her wife Christine, of Seagoville, Texas; his brother, Manuel Formoso and his wife Denise, of Commerce, Texas and his mother Linda Formoso, of McPherson. She worked for 20 years in the corporate and sales arena and then in 1984 she established McMillan and Company Professional Organizing and cofounded Island Organizers in 2006. She was a driving force in the industry; a mentor, leader, teacher, writer and was respected by all her peers. Besides her career, Donna loved spending quality time with her family and friends. She had a real zest for life, positive, upbeat, and always a true friend. She was predeceased by her parents Madeleine and Richard McMillan. Survivors include her sisters Alice Lockridge, Renton WA; Lora Hase, Phoenix AZ; three nephews Isaac, Andrew, and Jesse; and many dear friends and family. She will be missed by all who loved her. Cindy J. Guffey, 46, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 11, 2021, surrounded by her family at McPherson Hospital. She was a daycare provider and later was the office manager at Overhead Door Company.

Cindy was born on October 30, 1974, in Fullerton, NE, the daughter of Raymond and Connie June (Meader) Sowards. She graduated from Washington High School (Washington, KS) in 1993 and from Cloud County Community College (Concordia, KS). On November 4, 2000, Cindy was united in marriage to Brian J. Guffey in McPherson, KS.

Survivors include: her loving husband, Brian of the home; daughter, Katelyn Guffey of McPherson, KS; son, Kane Guffey of Ellsworth, KS; mother, Connie Sowards of McPherson, KS; one grandson, Koda McFadden of El Dorado, KS; brother, Craig Sowards (Sandy) of Norton, KS; sisters, Marie Thayer (Steven) of Kearney, NE and Lacy Sowards of Sioux Falls, SD; father-in-law &amp; mother-in-law, John &amp; Kay Guffey of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, Betty Laney (Josh) of Walton, KS; and many extended family and friends.

Kathryn Louise Miller, 76, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away October 9, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. 

She was born August 30, 1945 in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Norman Lorraine and Mary Jeanette Bolton Miller. Kathryn has resided in Wichita since December of 2012, formerly of Chase, Kansas. She attended Chase schools. Kathryn was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Chase. She is survived by her brother, Donald Miller and wife Ruth of Chase; and several nieces and nephews. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rebecca Malone.

Kathryn Louise Miller, 76, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away October 9, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. She was born August 30, 1945 in Lyons, Kansas, the daughter of Norman Lorraine and Mary Jeanette Bolton Miller. Kathryn has resided in Wichita since December of 2012, formerly of Chase, Kansas. She attended Chase schools. Kathryn was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Chase. She is survived by her brother, Donald Miller and wife Ruth of Chase; and several nieces and nephews. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rebecca Malone. Everett Walker Wooledge, 97, longtime Nickerson resident, died October 11, 2021, at Waldron Place in Hutchinson. He was born November 30, 1923, in Sedalia, MO, to Benjamin F. and Ella N. (Sampson) Wooledge.

Everett was a proud graduate of Nickerson High School, graduating in 1941. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946. Everett retired as Grain Terminal Superintendent at Bunge Corp. after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Grain Elevator and Processing Society and one of the founding members of the Hutchinson chapter. Everett was also a member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, and Nickerson United Methodist Church. He was honored to participate in the Kansas Honor Flight in 2011.

In 1941, Everett married Mary Patricia 'Pat' Thompson, in McPherson. They shared over 70 years of marriage before her death on March 9, 2013.

He is survived: daughters, Karen Brown and husband Bob of Riley, and Janis Berridge and husband Brad of Nickerson; grandchildren, Dr. Michael Brown and wife Lisa of Muncie, IN, Stacey Mahaffey and husband Scott of Riley, Brent Berridge and wife Sheila of Nickerson, Amy Quillin and husband Ty of Hutchinson; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; stepsister, Barbara Spencer of Hutchinson; and numerous extended family members.

Everett was preceded in death by: his parents, sisters, Mary Switzer, Fern Woodall, and Dorothy Shaff. Private family graveside service will be held in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Jerold Lehman “Jerry” Weaver was born in Dhamtari, India on October 14, 1941 to parents Ed and Irene Weaver. Jerry attended Woodstock, a boarding school in the foothills of the Himalayas, for nine months of the year. Above all else, Jerry valued time with family, and he spoke of going into the jungle with his parents and sisters for special picnics and how important that “undivided family time” was to him. Jerry also spoke often of his parents’ commitment to prayer and their relationship with Jesus and how that shaped his own faith journey. Jerry’s years growing up in India showed in his life-long appreciation for spicy Indian food, his fluency in Hindi, and his overflowing hospitality. Jerry remained attuned to the state of India and its people, and led several trips to India, including a family trip during which he was able to bury his mother’s ashes in his home village. 

Jerry came to the United States as a sophomore in high school, attending Hesston Academy. After graduating, he attended Hesston College for two years, during which time he met the love of his life, Catherine Carol Peachey. Jerry graduated from Hesston Academy and married Cathy on August 3, 1962. He attended Bethel College the next year and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree. Further education took place at Goshen, where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1982. Jerry used his education and skills in many ways over the years, official positions being: the minister of Whitestone Mennonite Church; the Bethel College campus pastor and women’s tennis coach; serving in Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in Calcutta, India; the Dean of students for Hesston College; the pastor of 1st Mennonite Church in Denver, CO; an independent insurance broker for LTC &amp; Life; and the interim pastor for Hesston Mennonite, Crystal Springs (Harper), and Pleasant Valley (Harper) churches.

Jerry and Cathy created a warm, loving home wherever they went. They raised their three sons in Hesston, KS, and eventually moved to Colorado when the boys were grown. Jerry always commented how Cathy could make any place they lived feel like home. Jerry and Cathy were renowned for their hospitality towards family, friends and strangers alike. Jerry took joy in many things, including golfing, playing tennis and racquetball, photography, hiking, listening to choral music, traveling, expanding his mind, pastoring church camps, and volunteering for causes such as Victim Offender Ministries, Mennonite Economic Development Associates, and MCC. The one thing that was always the most important to him was time with family and friends. Jerry loved getting to know people, and he had a special gift for continuing the relationships he began in a nurturing, tender way. Jerry met others with an open mind and heart, and Jesus’ love shone through his clear blue eyes. 

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, Jerry’s extensive family gathered inside and outside his room at the Schowalter Villa for a service of anointing and communion, at his request. Grandchildren sang hymns and favorite songs, and sons read Scripture. Jerry used this time to reaffirm his belief in Jesus Christ as his Savior and to bask in the love of the family into whom he invested so much time and joy. Later that night, Jerry died surrounded by his wife and sons.

Jerry, in his humble, loving way, showed us exactly how to make time for each other, and how to meet each other with the love of Jesus. Jerry embodied “Namaste,” which is a greeting and goodbye in Hindi, and translates to, “The God in me recognizes the God in you.” No matter what differences Jerry had with others, he did not forget the sacred value of the human lives around him. His invitation to warm and deep hospitality lives on in all of us. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents (Ed &amp; Irene Weaver) and his two sisters (Carolyn Esch &amp; Betty Shima). Jerry is survived by his wife Cathy; three sons: David (Emily), Bruce (Lori), and Rick (Jill); six grandchildren: Miranda (Jamie), Madelyn (Jeff), Matthew (Crystal), Ashley (Caleb), Kendrick, and Ally; and four great-grandchildren: Devon, Rowan, Caelynn, and Dawson.

In his younger days, he was an avid hunter. He was a dedicated reader of the High Plains Journal, was known for his humorous comments, and loved to make people laugh. He was devoted to his beloved dog, Rachel. Surviving are one daughter, Amy (Larry) Brownlee of Sterling, KS; two sons, Mike McGrath of Medicine Lodge, and Matt (Megan) McGrath of Medicine Lodge; nine grandchildren, Bryson, Macy, &amp; Bella Brownlee, Darrek, Deagan, Davin, Mattison, &amp; Cooper McGrath, and Zack Snow; and two great-grandchildren, Hendrix and Scarlet McGrath. On December 16, 1962 she married Marvin Dale Koehn at DeRidder, Louisiana and he preceded her in death in December 9, 2004.

Bertha was a member of the Eden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Burns, Kansas.&nbsp; She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed her time with family and friends.

Bertha is survived by her daughters: Loretta Koehn, Paula Toews and Bonnie and Glen Ensz; brothers: Jim, Benton, Chester and Dan Smith; and her sister: Luana Isaac. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchild and was anticipating the arrival of her 5th&nbsp;great grandchild in the next few months.

Lee Phillip (Phil) Kern, 72, passed away at his home in Hoisington, Kansas June 29, 2021. He was born July 9, 1948, in Great Bend, Kansas to Kenneth and Ellen (Carter) Kern. A Great Bend High School and Fort Hays State University Alum, Phil was a keen businessman and entrepreneur, working in the oil industry and as a general contractor. He made his home in Salina, Kansas; Tucson, Arizona; Springdale, Arkansas; and Overland Park, Kansas until returning to the Great Bend area. He was of Catholic faith. Phil could almost always be found engineering a project, fine tuning it down to the smallest detail, leaving no stone unturned. He enjoyed traveling, watching golf, spoiling his black Lab Shady, and sharing good stories and cold beer. He is survived by his son, Clark Kern; daughters, Kimberly Kern and Katherine Shelton; ten grandchildren; sister, Mary (Kenny) Bath; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wade Patrick and Kenneth Michael Kern; and an infant granddaughter. Hazel Screna (Carlisle) Pontious, 80 of Lincolnville, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at her home.

Hazel was born October 17, 1940, to Straud Franklin and Alice Marie (Helms) Carlisle in Grainola, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended schools in Grainola and Foraker, OK, graduating from Shidler High School; Shidler, OK in 1958. On June 1, 1958, at the age of 17, after 5 years of dating Hazel married Jay Early Pontious. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his death in 2019. They made their first home in Foraker, OK and where they started their family. Throughout their married life, Jay &amp; Hazel lived in various cities including Shidler, Pawhuska, Webb City, OK; Cunningham, Marion and Lincolnville, KS. She was baptized in Foraker United Methodist Church and then later became a member of the Shidler Methodist, Cunningham Methodist and Marion Church of Christ Church. In 1972 Jay and Hazel bought their first house,and moved to the Lincolnville area. Together, they purchased and ran K&amp;J Well Service and then changed the name to J&amp;H Oil Company. Hazel owned and operated the Owl Car Cafe in Marion and later the Hitchin’ Post Western Wear Store in Marion and Lincolnville. Hazel also worked for several businesses in Marion area including; Western Associates (Hoppy), Sears, Marion Elevator and numerous cafes, plus bookkeeper for J&amp;H Oil and the Lost Springs Pump Shop. Hazel served as troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America in Cunningham and Marion. She enjoyed bowling, going to National Bowling Tournaments all over Canada and the United States. She had a passion for making Christmas candy, baking cinnamon rolls, canning, working on family genealogy and hosting family reunions. She loved collecting anything John Wayne, belt buckles and zippo cigarette lighters. Survivors include son Brad Pontious of El Reno, Ok; daughters Gloria Pontious of Wichita, KS; Alice Pontious of Lincolnville, KS; Roberta (Ron) McGlachlin of Newton, KS; adopted son, Sam (Dena) Bowman of Lincolnville, KS; sisters Frankie Fulsom of Cedar Vale, KS; Arley (Lonnie) Bennett of Wellington, KS. 13 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, numerous Nieces and Nephews. Raymond Wesley Thiessen, 94, of Buhler, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler.  He was born on October 30, 1926, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Isaac and Anna (Neufeld) Thiessen.

He attended schools at Inman and Buhler. Raymond served in the United States Army during the Korean War as an infantryman and was honorably discharged.  After serving in the military, he moved back to the farm and helped farm with his dad for many years. Raymond later went on to work for Hesston Corporation.

Raymond met Edith Evelyn VanZandt and were married on August 11, 1971 and made Buhler their home. She passed away on February 1, 2007. They enjoyed 35 ½ years of married life. 

He liked old western movies and loved horses.  Raymond and Evelyn enjoyed spending time outdoors together camping and fishing.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Enid Cady, Linden Thiessen, Marsha Bouse, Jan Utech, Johnnie Peters, Marlin Peters, Gaylene Peters, Glen Peters, Diane Ediger, and Joetta Ediger; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn; two brothers, Jacob and Nick Thiessen; three sisters, Mary Thiessen, Sara Ediger, and Elizabeth Peters; and nephew Donald Ediger.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler.  Private burial will take place at Zoar Cemetery, Inman, Kansas. Christine (Chrissy) Ann Ward, 70, went home to be with her Lord on October 7, 2021.&nbsp;

Christine is the oldest of five children born to Clifford and Iva Mae Hummel on August 27, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri. &nbsp; When she was an infant, the family moved back to their hometown of Newton, Iowa, and she spent her formative years there. As a teenager, her first job was working for her father at “Cliff’s” restaurant in Newton.&nbsp; Christine began her most important job, mother to Matthew, on April 1st, 1972.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She worked in the mid 1980’s to earn her GED which led to her furthering her education at Tarrant County College in Ft. Worth, Tx.&nbsp; As a member of the National Honor Society, she completed her associates degree with highest honors in 1991. That year she was accepted to the University of Colorado, she then moved to Colorado Springs and began work as an undergraduate. &nbsp; It was there she was inducted into the Psi Chi honors society in 1995. One of her greatest achievements in life was graduating from UCCS, with honors, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1998.&nbsp;&nbsp;

While living in Colorado, Christine met Denis Ward.&nbsp; The two of them were married January 1, 1994.&nbsp; She and Denis built a life together and blended their families.&nbsp; They were married for 27 years and in that time they lived in: Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, and Louisiana.&nbsp; In 2017 they moved back to Kansas from Louisiana for their retirement. They have spent the past few years together in Newton, Ks.&nbsp;

Christine lived a full life.&nbsp; She was always singing in the kitchen, looking for ways to show her love to family through her cooking and baking.&nbsp; Caring for others was her life calling. She was always helping her friends and family and even strangers by showing them Christ’s love.&nbsp;

Christine is survived by her husband Denis Ward and her son Matthew George. To the marriage Denis brought daughters: Jayde, Jasmine, and Jenna. Her siblings are: Cathi (Hummel) Dunnam, Kimberly Hummel, Kevin Hummel, and Kari (Hummel) Burks. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, her great nieces, her grandchildren and great grandchild; many other family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Christine's life will be Wednesday, Oct. 13th&nbsp;at 11:00 a.m. at Shalom Mennonite Church, 800 East 1st&nbsp;Street, Newton, KS

Sandra "Sandy" Sue Mills, 60, of Hesston, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her home.&nbsp; She was born on August 22, 1961 in Newton, the daughter of Alvin R. Jr. and Catherine (Wherrell) Schmidt.

Sandy was a member of the Christ Tabernacle Church in Newton.

She was a CNA for Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Schowalter Villa in Hesston and Bethesda Home in Goessel, retiring in 2009.

Sandy was united in marriage to David C. Mills on June 21, 1997 in Newton.

Sandy loved to crochet in her spare time.&nbsp; She enjoyed baking and was known for making the best brownies.&nbsp; Above all, she loved spoiling her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her mother, Catherine Schmidt of Hesston; siblings, Daniel (Carol) Schmidt of Haysville, LaDena Self of Hesston, Sonia (Brad) Buchta of Halstead, and Jerry (MariShawn) Schmidt of Hillsboro; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, David; father, Alvin Schmidt Jr.; and nephew, Brent Dickerson.

Deborah Hill, 67, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Sedgwick, Kansas.  She was born in Wichita, Kansas to Glenn &amp; Dorothy (Wilson) Kennedy on April 21, 1954. She was a long time resident of Sedgwick, a graduate of Sedgwick High School and Fort Hays State University.

She worked at Cessna for many years as a chemist. Debbie enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and playing with their miniature schnauzer Buddy. She loved dogs, dolphins and watching cheesy Scifi movies. She was also active for many years helping at the American Legion Post 268 in Sedgwick.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Vicki, and ex-husband Curtis.

Debbie is survived by her husband John Pittinger, siblings Glenda (Greg) Krehbiel, Annette (Bill) Cook and Patti (Robert) Unruh, and her son William (Sarah) Hill. 

An informal memorial service will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 17th at the Sedgwick City Park shelter, Sedgwick, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in her memory to Caring Hands Humane Society of Newton, 1400 SE 3rd St, Newton, KS 67114.

Aileen Naomi Eaton, 92, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, surrounded by family at MTM Boarding Care Home, McPherson. She was a retired Deputy City Clerk for the City of McPherson. Aileen was born on February 14, 1929, in Pacific Junction, IA, the daughter of Roland O. and Grace N. (Ewell) Davison. She graduated in 1946 from Thurman High School, Iowa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Starlite Lanes 700 Club, and Kansas Bowling Hall of Fame. Survivors include: nieces &amp; nephews, Linus LeFever (Kay) of Glenwood, IA, Mary Forney of Sidney, IA, Joni Angleton (Robb) of Eagle River, AK, Sue LeFever of Glenwood IA, Judie Steiner (Joe) of Inman, KS, Larry Woods (Beverly) of Moore, OK, Lisa Nelson (Dave) of Kansas City, MO, and Lynda Krahl (Jeff) of McPherson, KS; and many numerous great-nieces &amp; great-nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lois Seibel and Ruth LeFever. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 15, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Emily Spearman Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Thelma Marie Hubbell, passed away on October 7, 2021. She was born on her family farm in Colwich, Kansas. Parents Henry and Rosie (Doll) Nigg. She snuck out of her bedroom window on her 18th birthday to elope and marry the love of her life, her husband, Raymond Hubbell. She was a career military wife, moving all over the United States and Japan to support her husband’s career and raise her family. After Ray’s retirement from the military they settled in Kingman KS in 1961.  She was an avid gardener and loved competition trap shooting. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Raymond Hubbell, and her son, Ronald Hubbell, brothers Bill and Dennis Nigg and sister Dorothy Heimerman. Thelma is survived by 3 children, Max Hubbell with wife Barbara, Rose Marie Henning, and Michael Hubbell and wife Susan; 1 sister, Lillian Cipriani;  8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Parish rosary will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.,  Monday at the Livingston Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the St. Patrick Grade School in care of the funeral home.
