Benjamin L. Thiessen, 96, died September 19, 2021, at the Reno County Hospice House. He was born at home near Inman, KS, January 31, 1925, the third of eight children, born to Henry D. and Tina (Klaassen)Thiessen.

He married Stella Ann Martens on December 3, 1947, in Inman, KS. They shared almost 64 years together before she passed away on September 11, 2011.

Ben worked as a farmer and in construction. He was a friend to all and loved spending time at coffee but most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The “Littles” were the joy of his life. He enjoyed going to the sale barn, ball games, visiting on the front porch, reading, his bible was often open on the table, and was a dedicated prayer warrior for his family and friends. Ben loved going to rodeos with Stella and later taking grandkids and the whole family. He was the best peppernut baker and shared them with many.

He was a a lifelong member of Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, where he held many positions through the years.

He is survived by his children; Lois (Gail) Wiens, Inman, and Lyle (Donna) Thiessen, Hutchinson; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Patrick and Molly, Ben, Annie and Sean Thiessen, Arvada, CO; Laura and Jon, Declan, Allie &amp; Claire Paine, Olathe, KS; Joel, Rachel, Kate and Abby Wiens, Wichita, KS; Daniel, Ashley, Cooper, Dietrich, and Stella Wiens, Inman; his brother and sisters, Bruce (Verbie) Thiessen, Inman, Sophia (Jim) Stephens, Inman and Eva Friesen, Inman; sister in law Alma Thiessen, South Hutchinson, KayLee Thiessen, Denver, CO, brother in law, John (Florence) Martens, Inman; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella and his siblings, Phillip, Clarence, Leo, and Lilly Ann Pankratz; in laws, Emerson Pankratz, Pat Thiessen, Willie Friesen, and Irv and Rosella Pauls.

Ben was a hard worker, generous, humble, caring, fun-loving, and lived his Christian faith quietly and peacefully.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 24, 2021, at the church, with burial to follow at Zoar Cemetery. Lawrence Marion Parsons, 81, died September 17, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born January 12, 1940, in Hays, to George Marion and Nora (Batman) Parsons.

Lawrence graduated from Collyer High School, Collyer, in 1957.&nbsp; He worked in grounds and maintenance for Willowbend Golf Club, Wichita, and Prairie Dunes Country Club, Hutchinson. Lawrence loved watching NASCAR, and especially liked Corvettes.&nbsp; He was a member of the Corvette Club, Hutchinson, and was a HUGE Haven Wildcat basketball fan. Lawrence attended Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, and served in the United States Air Force.

On February 9, 2001, he married Cynthia “Cindy” Kay Ziegler, in Hutchinson.

Lawrence is survived by:&nbsp; wife, Cindy of Hutchinson; stepdaughter, Megan Bland (Justin) of Hutchinson; granddaughters, SenaKay Bland of Rose Hill, Carlee Bland, and Austyn Bland, both of Hutchinson; and brother, Steve Parsons of El Cajon, CA.

 Susan was born on January 13, 1947, in Great Bend, Kansas, to LC (Bud) 
and Josephine (Seeger) Pryor. She grew up in Great Bend and was a proud 
graduate of the class of 1965. She continued her education and graduated
 from Fort Hays State University in 1972. She was united in 
marriage to Gary Rosenbach on January 6, 1973. Throughout their marriage
 they lived in several cities and states before moving to her favorite 
location, the farm near Dannebrog. This is where all of her 
passions truly thrived. She was able to share her love of animals, 
especially horses, with her daughters. She spent countless hours sitting
 through riding lessons, going to horse show, and just watching them 
ride. Susan always believed in giving back and served as the Chairperson
 for the Nebraska State 4-H Horse Exposition for many years. Susan 
loved gardening and could get any plant to thrive. She is well-known for
 her floral quality sunflowers and extraordinary garlic and shallots. 
She was even dubbed the “garlic queen.” Susan brought much of her 
produce into the kitchen where she could turn anything into a gourmet 
meal. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. She was an avid 
quilter and you could often find her at her machine working on a new 
pattern. She was extremely precise and never started a project without 
reading all the directions first. Some of her favorite quilts were the 
two she made with her grandson. For the last twenty years, she 
worked at Stuhr Museum teaching classes for the education department. 
She truly loved interacting with and teaching kids about what it was 
like to live in the 1890’s. She often said she was going to retire, only
 to say, “well maybe I’ll teach one more time.” Those left to 
cherish her memory are her husband Gary of Dannebrog; two daughters, 
Jamee (Jeff) Bockerman of Hastings and Allison Rosenbach of Grand 
Island; grandsons Brodyn, Hadyn and Hudsyn Bockerman; sister Jody Zink 
of Pratt, Kansas; and niece Hayley Zink of Turon, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her in-laws.

She was born in Mineola, Texas on January 6, 1947, to Robert and Lois (Galliton) Cannon. She was the spunkiest of four. She was a “tell it like it is” person with no filter and many people loved her for that. She loved spending her days doing crossword puzzles, playing computer games, and going to the casino, every chance she got, with her best friend, Vanessa Vallee. Survivors include: two daughters, Terri (Danny) Newhouse of McPherson and Tawana (Emilio, Jr.) Garcia of Georgetown, Texas; five wonderful grandsons, (whom she referred to as her little chickens 1-5) (#I) Jerrod (Sarah) Newhouse of Galva, (#II) Jeremy (Emily) Newhouse of Walton, (#IV) Justin Newhouse of Wichita, (#III) Simon (Glenys) Garcia of Terrell, TX and (#V) Nick Garcia of Orlando, Florida. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, Keelyn, Rilynn, Kinsley, Keigan, Kaiser, Kynlee, Koty, Gracie, Lillian, Elliana, and Tatum; sisters, Debbie (Bill) Turner of Texas and Gail (Bill)Adams of Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Maynard P. Robertson, Jr., 69, died Sept. 17, 2021 in Wichita.

He was born Oct. 3, 1951, the son of Maynard P. and Bonnie Beck Robertson.  A longtime Kingman County resident, having also lived in Texas and Colorado, he was a former employee of Cessna and a former liquor store owner/operator.

Survivors include son Aaron and his wife Shandra; daughters Stephanie Foley and her husband Clint, and Laura Robertson; brothers Keith and Kent Robertson; sister Bonita Bradley; and six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Joan; his father Maynard P. Robertson, Sr. and his mother Bonnie June Beck Robertson.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont, Kansas.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.

Bessie Lou Colvard, 85, of Hutchinson, died September 18, 2021, at Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie. She was born September 2, 1936, in Hutchinson, to Charles “Harvey” and Edna (Sartain) Voss.

Bessie was retired from Hutchinson Hospital, where she worked in patient accounts. She loved to quilt, embroider, and bake cookies. She also collected Precious Moments and Cherished Teddies. Bessie was a member of Bethany Nazarene Church, Hutchinson.

On December 31, 1951, she married Edwend Leroy “Ed” Colvard, in Sterling. They shared nearly 70 years of marriage, before he passed away on July 30, 2021.

She is survived by: children, Meryl Colvard (Evelyn) of Pretty Prairie, Cameron Colvard (Jana) of Augusta, Cindy Teter (Les) of Buhler; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

Bessie was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ed Colvard; sister, Helen Voss; brother, Cameron Voss; sisters, Lona Edwards, and Ada Whitney.

Wayne E. Busch passed away on September 18, 2021, at Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas.

Wayne was born in Rugby, North Dakota on March 9, 1933 to John and Mary Busch. He finished his education at Minot State Teachers College and began his teaching career in Mott, North Dakota in 1961. He spent his entire career there as a junior high science teacher along with coaching physical education, driver education, and was principal of the junior high.

He was deeply involved at Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as president, treasurer, usher, teacher, and choir member. He continued to support his church even after moving to Omaha to be closer to his family.

Wayne was preceded in death by Joyce, his wife of 44 years, his parents, two sisters, a brother and granddaughter, Beth Lemke. He is survived by his loving daughters: Sharon (Stan) Lemke, Sandra (David) Kern, and Charlene (Stan) Herauf; six grandchildren: Dr. Stephanie Kern Schutte (Kyle), Dr. Jennifer Kern Tracy, Dr. Alysia Kern Lovgren (Jimmy), Amy Lemke, Carrie Lemke, and Derek Herauf; seven great-grandchildren: Melanie, Tyler, Ryan, and Cody Schutte, Brandon and Mariah Tracy; sisters Betty Nelson and Janice Knutson; and brothers Jerry Busch and Philip Busch.

Gary Owen Clarke, 85, of Hutchinson, died September 16, 2021, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born October 5, 1935, in Dodge City, to Owen and Eleanor (Leiker) Clarke.

Gary graduated from Buhler High School in 1954. He then served in the United States Army. Gary retired after 30 years with Sears, working as a warehouse manager and then sales associate. He loved to garden and was known by many as the “watermelon man”. He also enjoyed going to farm sales and auctions.

On July 1, 1955, Gary married Janet Mae Davidson, in Hutchinson. They shared 66 years together.

He is survived by: wife, Janet Clarke, Hutchinson; daughters, Lynette Morris (Toby), Dana Point, California, Cynthia Wise, Overland Park, Pamela Adams (Steve), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brandon Wise, Olathe, Whittney Wise, Prairie Village, Cheyenne Morris, Dana Point, California, Blaisi Adams, Hutchinson; great-grandchild, Costner Wise; and brother, Ronald Clarke, Lindsborg.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Clarke.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dale Edward Miller, 75, died September 15, 2021, at Via Christi St. Francis Specialty Hospital, Wichita. He was born October 3, 1945, in Hutchinson, to Frank and Leona (Stucky) Miller.

Dale graduated from Hutchinson High School and then served in the United States Air Force.  After the air force, he worked for Cessna/Eaton as a machinist for 32 years. Dale was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Amvets Post #11, and Westside Baptist Church. 

On May 17, 1986, he married Lynda Jeane (Robinson) Fields, in Hutchinson.

Dale is survived by:  his wife of 35 years, Lynda of Hutchinson; daughters, Koi Law (Brian) of Hutchinson and Karri Kirkendoll (John) of Lawson, MO; son, Jacob Fields of Pretty Prairie; sisters, Joyce Matthew and Shirley Newby; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his beloved dog, Sarge; and numerous extended family members and friends.  Dale was well-loved, and will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Doris Crawford.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson, with Pastor Eldon Smith officiating. Nancy Marie Graham, 84, passed away September 15, 2021, at her home.  She was born March 7, 1937, in Delphos, KS, to Orlan Raymond and Tossie Marie (Sinclair) Somers.

Nancy was a graduate of Culver High School and worked at Dillon Living Center as a Certified Nurses Aide, retiring with 23 years of service.  She enjoyed quilting and putting jigsaw puzzles together.  Nancy loved her family and supported the activities of her grandkids.  Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

On August 30, 1958, Nancy married Curtis ‘Ray’ Graham, Sr., in Lincoln, KS.  They shared over 47 years of marriage, prior to his death on September 17, 2005.

She is survived by:  children, Keyna (Zach Stinson) Graham and Curtis Graham, Jr.; grandchildren, Loyal Ray (Kylee) Kienzle, Jessica Marie (Kyle) Oyler, Shannon Marie Symonds, Kacie (Martina Saiz) Kienzle, Tyler Eugene Symonds, and Jimmie Doyle Symonds; and great-grandchildren, Railyn Pattinson, Eco Kinast, Lexi Keazer, Konner Cooper, Keanu Kienzle, Mila Kienzle, Iggy Kienzle, and Journey Farrell.

Juanita (Hutchens) Purkey, age 105, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.&nbsp; She was born southeast of&nbsp; Plainfield, Indiana to John Edgar Hutchens and Martha Ann (Dorsett) Hutchens.&nbsp; In early 1920's the family moved to Kansas. On March 2, 1935 she married the love of her life, Victor Gerald Purkey. They made their home on the farm northwest of Valley Center, Kansas ever since.&nbsp;

Juanita was a very hard worker at home, on the farm and also as a riveter for Beechcraft. She also worked at Buck's Department Store as a shipping clerk.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Victor G. Purkey, daughter Vicky L., son-in-law CJ Barber, parents Edgar and Martha Hutchens, siblings Edward Raymond Hutchens, James Howard Hutchens, George Vestal Hutchens and Nellie Isbelle Fry; and many other family as well.&nbsp; She is survived by nieces, nephews, many other family and&nbsp; friends.

Marion Edward ‘Ed’ Bates, 56, was taken from us August 27, 2021. He was born August 5, 1965, in Fort Jackson, SC, to Emmett L. and Betty L. (Wilson) Bates.

Ed graduated from Hutchinson High School and spent two years studying photography and drama at Hutchinson Community College. He worked as a collections agent for NCA for many years, and most recently at Harris &amp; Harris. Ed was an outdoors and survival enthusiast, and the biggest Cheese Head Green Bay Packers fan in town. He loved live music, especially Blues and Rock. Ed had a nickname for everyone and a quick wit. You never knew what he was going to say or write, but he was sure to get a laugh out of you, even if he was the butt of the joke. Ed had a great heart and would do anything to help others, even if they didn't ask for help.

He was married to Lori Hess before they divorced.

Ed is survived by: his mother, Betty of Buhler; brothers, Ken Bates (Karen) of Beaverton, OR, Ron Bates (Sarah) nephew Ross Wilson Bates and great nephew Beau of Haslet, TX; stepson, Damond Flowers of Wichita; stepdaughter, Hailey Ummel of Seattle, WA; and numerous extended family members, including some favorite cousins.

Cremation has taken place at his wish, and a remembrance of Ed’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. Phillip Duane Anstine, 58, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at his little acreage east of Hutchinson. He was born December 19, 1962, to Duane and Phyllis Anstine.

Phillip is survived by:  his father, Duane; siblings, Melody Weiss, Randy, Robert, Scott and Darin Anstine; bonus sisters, Kate Rudiger (Ric) and Marjean Meeder (Alan); half-brother, Vince Wernsman; half-sisters, Monique Maxa and Cristyl Wernsman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by:  his mother, Phyllis Wernsman; bonus mother, Norma Anstine; and baby sister, Melinda Anstine.

Phillip graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.  He then entered the military, where he was on active duty for twelve years, followed by six years in the National Guard.  Phillip returned to Hutchinson following his active duty and attended Hutchinson Community College, where he received two associate degrees.

Phillip worked at several positions over the years, but the one he enjoyed the most was at Interfaith Housing, because he could help people in need.  He also really enjoyed being a substitute teacher in the Hutchinson schools.  The many students whose lives he touched always called him “Mr. Sir”.  Phillip made life-long friends from his teaching.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with The Reverend Michael Tomson-DeGreeff officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Karen Maxine (Marlett Wilhite) Hall, 76, went home to be with the 
Lord on Thursday, September 16th, 2021, at Diversicare of Hutchinson.

Karen was such a pure and sweet soul.&nbsp; She always maintained a 
gracious forgiving spirit, even after enduring some cruel blows in 
life.&nbsp; In this way especially she was a role model to her children and 
others.&nbsp; Karen endeavored to love others the way her savior, Jesus 
Christ, loved her.&nbsp;

Karen had many fond memories of her childhood with her “Granny”, 
parents, brothers, Marlett, Durler, and Kirchgassner cousins, and 
friends.&nbsp; She talked a lot about loving her dolls, short-haired terrier 
Trixie, a pogo-stick, a phone in her room, riding horses, and her dear 
housekeeper, Annabelle.&nbsp; And the family has a treasure-trove of pictures
 as evidence.&nbsp;

She also loved life and as a beautiful teen, Karen was known for 
“dragging the gut” in Larned, watching Elvis Presley movies, getting 
into mischief with her closest friends and cousins, and riding her horse
 “Poco EP” (Elvis Presley).&nbsp;&nbsp;

Karen surely loved her family and friends. &nbsp;In late 2019 she was 
asked what made her happiest in life, and Karen said it was her four 
children and her beloved devoted husband Judd. She said that Judd always
 took really good care of her, and for all the years after his passing 
she pined to be reunited with him in Heaven.&nbsp; The Lord has now made that
 reunion happen.

Karen was born September 5, 1945, in Larned, the daughter of Lawrence
 Elwood “L.E.” “Mick” and Alma Maxine Smeltzer Marlett.&nbsp; A lifetime area
 resident.&nbsp; She worked from 1960 through 1980 at A&amp;W restaurant, 
Ritzman’s pharmacy, Larned State Hospital, and T’s Place restaurant.

She was a member of New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene in Larned.

On May 8, 1966, she married John A. Wilhite, they later divorced, and
 he passed away May 7, 2016.&nbsp; On November 9, 1981, she married Judge 
“Judd” Edgar Hall.&nbsp; He passed away May 11, 1995.

Survivors include: two sons, Scott (Rebecca) Kirby Wilhite, Hartford,
 CT, Christopher (Angela) John Wilhite, Larned; two daughters, Teri 
(Jim) Janell (Wilhite) Thomas, Hutchinson, Cindi (David) Diane (Wilhite)
 Dinning, Larned, stepson, Paul Hall; eight grandchildren, Brandon 
Stegman, Faith Dinning, Christian Dinning, Kiley Dinning, Cami (Wilhite)
 Venhaus, Tanner Madden, Dalton Madden, Gage Lawrence and three 
great-grandchildren, Grayson, Jacob, and Abbott Venhaus.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Raymond Dean Marlett and Lawrence Vernal Marlett.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 
Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Pastor Jack Hopkins presiding.&nbsp; 
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary.&nbsp; 
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.&nbsp; Burial will be 
in the Brown’s Grove Cemetery, Burdett.

He owned his own business T.R.'s Automotive due to his love of cars and being gifted as a mechanic. He also worked at Milcon Concrete then Kansas Ready Mix.&nbsp; He enjoyed gardening, working with his hands fixing, repairing and creating things.&nbsp; Yet his greatest love was spending time with his family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents Strother &amp; Katherine Ratley, brother Bruce Ratley, and grandparents Harvey &amp; Katie Thompson.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife Dianna Ratley, daughter Lorie (Rick) Sobolik, grandkids Miranda Drake and Jackson Taylor, sister Brenda (Robert) Kesterson, and numerous extended family members.

He was born Aug. 22, 1926, at Hutchinson the son of Harvey “Bert” and Juanita Buchanan Hirst.&nbsp; A longtime resident of Pretty Prairie, he was the former owner/operator of Hirst and Son Supply.

Gene was a member of the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge A.F. &amp; A.M., the Pretty Prairie Booster Club and Volunteer Fire Dept., the Salt Miners, and was a WWII Navy veteran.

On June 10, 1944, he married Bertha Mae Miller; she died in Sept. 2007.&nbsp; Survivors include sons Larry and Charles; daughter Anita Field and Cindy Hedrick; brother Thomas; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.&nbsp; He was also preceded in death by a son David.

Kristi Kay (Deering) Gamble, 46, of Hesston, Kansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family, on September 9, 2021.&nbsp; She was born June 21, 1975 in Newton,&nbsp; the daughter of John David and Sharon K. (Krehbiel) Deering.

She was united in marriage to Andy Gamble on April 8, 2000 in Hesston.&nbsp; They shared three children together, Samantha Gamble (25), Logan Gamble (19), and Trevor Gamble (17).&nbsp; Kristi and Andy later divorced.

Kristi enjoyed caring for the elderly throughout the years and spent her career as a CNA at Comfort Care Homes in Newton, Bethesda Home in Goessel and Schowalter Villa in Hesston.&nbsp; Kristi most recently moved to Foley, Alabama to begin a new career with her cousin, Starr Nicosia, managing a Smoothie King store.

She enjoyed traveling, thrift shopping, going to the beach and attending concerts with her daughter, Samantha.&nbsp; Kristi enjoyed watching her sons, Logan and Trevor, play tennis and participate in school activities.&nbsp; Above all, she loved spending time with her kids and her dog, Chloe. Upon returning to Kansas last fall, Kristi enjoyed a lot of family time, family meals with her boys, parents, and extended family.&nbsp; She was blessed during this time, spending time with her wonderful boyfriend, Sheldon Klaasen.

Kristi is survived by her mother, Sharon Stutzman and stepfather, David Stutzman of Hesston; children, Samantha Gamble of Shawnee, Logan and Trevor Gamble of Hesston; brother, Todd Deering and wife, Julie of Hesston; and niece and nephew, Daxon and Aira Deering of Hesston.

Doris Jean Brown, 91, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 8, 1929 on a farm in Utopia, to Floyd and Marguerite (Little) Worley. Jean married Don Eugene Brown on November 22, 1950 in Wichita. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2011. She attended school at Fairview Elementary and graduated from Eureka High School. She graduated from Kansas State College with a degree in Industrial Chemistry. She commuted to Wichita State and earned a Master's degree in Math Education. She taught at Cheney High School, Russville while Don attended law school in Topeka, and Council Grove while Don worked in a local law firm. They moved to Pratt in 1955 where she gave Red Cross Swim lesson's and taught half days for sixth grade at Haskins Elementary for 2 years. She then taught at Pratt Middle School and Pratt High School until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Prayer Circle, American Association of University Women, Pratt Library Board, and Investment Club. She volunteered at PRMC, Red Cross, Food Bank and RSVP. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and tennis, bowling, gardening, reading, tutoring her grandchildren and other students in math, and doing crosswords. She is survived by her children, Stephen Worley Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Scott Brown of Pittsburgh, and Nancy Louise (Steve) Brown-McClain of Pratt; sister in-law, Lois Worley of Chanute; grandchildren, Casey Brown of Chicago, Illinois, Marshall Brown of Mesa, Arizona, Floyd Jaggy and Nancy Brown-Jaggy both of California, Austin (Heather) McClain, Lauren McClain, and Julieann McClain all of Pratt; and great-grandchild, Lukas Scott McClain with another on the way. Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Lions Club, and Ninnescah Lodge #230 A.F.&amp;A.M., all of Kingman. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1954 and from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1958; he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Fraternity; served as the attorney for the City of Kingman from 1962 to 1978; Kingman County Attorney from 1969 to 1973; served as a State Representative from 1983 to 1988; was a Trustee of the Rose Spurrier Scholarship Fund; former Director of the Kansas Children’s Service League, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War.

In October of 1960, he married Barbara Bateman in Kansas City, Missouri; she died on Feb. 22, 2017.

Survivors include daughter Melissa Tetrick and her husband Bill; sister Delores Stevens and her husband James; grandchildren Will Tetrick and his wife Jenna, Becky Pickett and her husband Kale, Travis Tetrick with his fiance’ Courtney Giefer, and Victoria Tetrick; and great-grandchildren Brynlee, Audrey, Tripp, Raelynn and Teighton.&nbsp; He was also preceded in death by a son Stephen Wunsch and grandson Steven Tetrick.

Ralph Cagle, 82, died September 16, 2021, in Newton.

He was born on January 1, 1939, in Henderson County, Tennessee, the son of Clyde and Jinnie (Britt) Cagle.

Ralph went to school in Miflin, Tennessee, and was a cotton chopper in the fields of Arkansas and Tennessee for most of his young life.

He then moved to Kansas, where he has lived since.

Once in Kansas Ralph’s brother, Tony, got him a job at ENH Phone Company as a phone shredder, where he worked until they went out of business.

Ralph was currently a resident at a greenhouse at Paramount Nursing Home.

Ralph is survived by two sisters, Laverene Connors of Henderson, Tennessee, and Dale Piper of Salina.

Ralph Cagle, 82, died September 16, 2021, in Newton.He was born on January 1, 1939, in Henderson County, Tennessee, the son of Clyde and Jinnie (Britt) Cagle.Ralph went to school in Miflin, Tennessee, and was a cotton chopper in the fields of Arkansas and Tennessee for most of his young life.He then moved to Kansas, where he has lived since.Once in Kansas Ralph’s brother, Tony, got him a job at ENH Phone Company as a phone shredder, where he worked until they went out of business.Ralph was currently a resident at a greenhouse at Paramount Nursing Home.Ralph is survived by two sisters, Laverene Connors of Henderson, Tennessee, and Dale Piper of Salina.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clyde Jr., Tony and Max Cagle; and two sisters, Katherine LaCross and Eliza Billingslee.A graveside inurnment will take place at 2:00pm, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery.

Liselotte Serviss, 92, of McPherson,&nbsp; passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was an elementary school teacher, having taught in Moundridge,&nbsp; from 1962 through 1992. She was born on October 22, 1928, in Kaiserslautern, Germany, the daughter of Heinrich and Lydia (Henn) Geiger. She attended elementary and high school in Kaiserslautern, Germany, graduated from Kindergarten Nursery Seminary in Landstuhl, Germany, and received a teaching certificate from Bethel College, Newton. Liselotte was united in marriage to Arnold L. Serviss on July 12, 1974, in Moundridge. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2012. Liselotte was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post #24 Auxiliary. She volunteered at the McPherson Opera House Apt. 6, Trash to Treasure, and at McPherson elementary schools as a reading assistant. Survivors include: daughters, Arnell Whited and husband, Gary, of Hutchinson, KS, Bettina Luttig and husband, Monte, of McPherson, and Lori Hardin of Newton; six grandchildren, Stephanie King (John), Melanie Schulz (Chris), Leslie Shaw (Kerry), Steven Medina (Sakura), Devin Medina, and Helene Medina; two step-grandchildren, Mercedes Lecklider and Tanner Luttig; seven great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Carl Heinz Wolfgang Geiger, and sister, Hilda Rosa Luis. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 19, at the First Presbyterian Church, McPherson. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury.&nbsp;&nbsp;
