Guadalupe “Lupe” Mendoza, 83, died November 7, 2021, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab. He was born October 12, 1938, in Sylvia, to Federico and Rafaela (Flores) Mendoza.

Lupe worked at the Reno County yard for many years. He loved music and dancing. Lupe enjoyed fishing and gigging for frogs and doing yard work. He was a member of St Teresa Catholic Church.

In 1958, Lupe married Angelita Navarro in Hutchinson. They later divorced. On July 23, 1976, he married Linda L. Gonzales, in Dodge City. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, Lillian Mendoza (Bob), Laura Enriquez (Jose), Deborah Vieyra (Tom), Ann Gonzales-Jaqui, Daniel Rivera (JoAnn), Andrea Mendoza, Misty Mendoza, Jason Mendoza, all of Hutchinson; bonus daughter, Mariah Sibley; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Ernest Mendoza (Toby) of South Hutchinson, Fred Mendoza Jr. (Charlotte) of Hutchinson; sister, Gloria Rodriguez of Dodge City; and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, John Mendoza; granddaughters, Victoria and Rochelle Vieyra; brothers, Victor, Margarito, Felix, Carlos, Esteban; and sister, Linda Sanchez Hernandez.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2021. There will be a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., all at Elliott Chapel. Private family burial will take place in Eastside Cemetery at a later date. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
