Wichita, Kansas - Marylin A. (Ubel) Thayer, 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Born in Yates Center, KS on August 2, 1929 to John and Sarah Elsa (Neese) Ubel. Marylin was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Charles Lindeman and Everett Earl Thayer, Sr, sister Martha (Moody) Barnes, and grandson Scott Lindeman. She is survived by her children Larry (Mary) Lindeman, Sherilyn Lindeman, Everett E (Lisa) Thayer, Jr, Loretta (Jay) Yoss, and James (Trecia) Thayer, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Marylin had a long and fulfilling life as a loving mother and wife. She worked at Maize Hardware/TMC's Homecenter for many years along with being very active in the First Baptist Church of Maize, Maize schools, civic events and activities, Girl and Boy Scouting, Maize baseball program, crafts, as well as being an independent distributor for McNess products for many years.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church at Maize from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday morning November 12, 2021 followed by a short graveside service at Maize Cemetery at 10, and then a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Maize. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Maize shoebox ministry which was of great importance to both Marylin and Everett.
