Donald Ray “Don” Farmer, 53, of Russell, Kansas and formerly of 
Colorado, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the Pratt 
Regional Medical Center in Pratt, Kansas.

Don was born July 11, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio.&nbsp; He was the son of 
Ron, Sr., and Dianne (Vaughn) Farmer.&nbsp; He grew up in Ohio and graduated 
from Mt. Healthy High School in Mt. Healthy, Ohio.

Don served his country in the U.S. Army.&nbsp; He was injured during active duty and was honorably discharged as a Disabled Veteran.

Don was united in marriage to Deon Cochran on May 15, 2005, in 
Divide, Colorado.&nbsp; They made their home in Florissant, Colorado for 
several years then later moved to Victor, Colorado.&nbsp; Most recently they 
lived in Aurora, Colorado before moving to Russell, Kansas in 2020.

Don mainly worked in the Security business.&nbsp; He worked as a Security 
Officer and Casino Manager in the Casinos of Cripple Creek, Colorado. 
Prior to leaving Colorado, Don worked as an armed guard at the Arapahoe 
County Court House.&nbsp; He attended the Olive Branch Church of Russell.&nbsp; 
Don was an outdoors man who enjoyed guns, target shooting, fishing, 
camping, and hiking.&nbsp; His greatest joy was his family.&nbsp; He was a very 
loving and protective husband, father and grandfather.

Don’s surviving family include his wife of 16 years, Deon of Russell,
 Kansas; five children, Evan McCue (Kristine) of Randolph, Vermont, Sean
 McCue (Rachel) of Eldersburg, Maryland, Donnie Farmer, Jr. of Russell, 
Kansas, Sarah Farmer of Hutchinson, Kansas and Justin Farmer of Canon 
City, Colorado; his mother, Dianne Farmer of Sunman, Indiana; brothers, 
Ron Farmer, Jr. of Divide, Colorado and Herb Farmer of Sunman, Indiana; 
and six grandchildren that called grandpa “Bagu”, Leah, Natalie, Ronin, 
Aurora, Joey and Brogen.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his father.

Ethel R. (Dalke) Bartel passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the age of 96 in Valley Center, Kansas.

She was born in Hillsboro, Kansas to Charles Dalke and Verna (Nichol) Dalke. Ethel grew up in rural Lehigh, Kansas on the family farm. Later the family moved to town and her Dad managed the local coop. Ethel attended Lehigh schools and graduated from Lehigh High School. She attended McPherson College and received a Bachelor of Science in Business. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper for the Lehigh Coop.

She married (Richard) Dick Bartel on August 8, 1949. where they farmed in Lehigh for 3 years. Later the couple moved to Newton and she attended Bethel College to receive her teacher certification.

She and Dick bought the hardware store in Valley Center, Kansas. In addition to bookkeeping at the hardware store, Ethel began her teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher at Abilene Elementary school and continued her career there for the next 24 years until her retirement.

Ethel loved spending time at their Lake House in Shell Knob, Missouri where many happy family memories were made. She enjoyed quilting and made beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren and loved visiting the quilt shops in Branson as well as going to various shows there. She also enjoyed collecting ceramic chickens and had many.  She and Dick liked to travel and took several Chartered bus tours.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Verna Dalke, brother, Carl Dalke. She also had an older sister Evelyn Dalke who died at a young age during the Spanish Flu epidemic and a son, Richard Keith Bartel, who died as a child in 1961.

Ethel is survived by her husband, Dick Bartel, 2 sons and their wives; Mike and Charlotte Bartel,  Tom and Lynn Bartel, all of Valley Center, her grandchildren, Jennifer and Joe Anaya of Kansas City, Stephanie and Brad Blessen of Kansas City; Sarah and Benjie Wolter of Denver, Colorado, Nathan Bartel of Valley Center Kansas, Michael Hodson of Valley Center and Kristen Bartel of Racine Wisconsin, Her great-grandchildren, Mayson Hodson, Hunter Hodson, Owen Hodson, Griffin Hodson, Sawyer Hodson, all of Valley Center, Dillon and Daniel Wolter of Denver, Colorado and Barrett Blessen of Kansas City, Kansas

Jane Carol Randall, 90, finally got her wish to be in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at The Oxford Grand Memory Care in Wichita, Kansas.

Jane Randall was born November 28, 1930 in Independence, Kansas.  She was the youngest of three children born to Glen Hobart Hackmaster Sr. and Isabel Frances Bechtel Hackmaster.  She had a wonderful childhood growing up in Independence Kansas where she was well-known as the daughter of the prominent and beloved city manager.  She graduated from Independence Junior College in 1950.  During those years she became an accomplished singer and participated in various choirs, singing groups and musicals.  She followed her mother's side of the family to the University of Kansas where she graduated in 1952 in the first class to graduate with a Bachelors of Elementary Education Degree. She was a  member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and a huge KU Jayhawk fan the rest of her life.

Jane met her husband of 66 years, Richard Dean Randall while attending KU.  She taught kindergarten for 2 years in Topeka, Kansas before they were married August 1, 1954 in her hometown of Independence, Kansas.  Dick and Jane made their home in Wichita, Kansas where Jane taught kindergarten for 5 years in the Wichita Public School System before retiring and having 2 daughters who were then the joy and focus of her life.  Dick and Jane built the house of their dreams in the Park East Addition in east Wichita in 1958.  They lived there for 61 years where they made lifelong friendships and many happy memories.  They moved together to Park West Plaza Retirement Community in 2019 and then Jane moved to the Oxford Grand after Dick passed away in 2020..

Jane was a devoted wife, mother and friend who was generous and always helping others.  However her life changed on November 4, 1965 when she accepted Christ as her personal Savior while reading the book "New Life in the Church" by Robert Raines.  She knew she would never be the same again.  From that point on her desire was to see people come to know Jesus as she had.  She and Dick joined the Navigators where they discipled couples and held Bible studies in their home.  She volunteered at the Union Rescue Mission Thrift Store, taught Child Evangelism Good News Clubs, Sunday School and AWANA and volunteered many hours  in the Christian schools their girls attended.

Her five grandsons were the joy of her older years.  She and Dick enjoyed attending their multitude of soccer and basketball  games, as well as band and choir programs even into the boys' college years. She was a faithful supporter and spectator. 

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Richard Randall; her parents, Glen Sr. and Isabel Hackmaster; a brother, Glen Hackmaster Jr.; and a granddaughter, Davida Busenitz.  

She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Dana (Rick) Friesen of Wichita, and Gayle (David) Busenitz of North Newton; five grandsons, Chad (Rachel) Friesen, Mitchell (Annarose) Friesen, Luke Friesen, Broxton (Jessica) Busenitz, and Braeden Busenitz;  Six greatgrandchildren June, Asher, Nash and Mae Friesen, and Everest and Ezra Busenitz.

The celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday (September 27, 2021) at Community Bible Church in Bel Aire, Kansas.  Memorial gifts may be designated for Milk and Honey Ministries, 5500 E. 45th St. N. Bel Aire, KS  67220.

A loving husband and father, John Philip Hays, 71 of Valley Center, Kansas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 15, 2021 after suffering a massive heart attack when at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born in Topeka, KS on October 22, 1949 to his parents Barney and Luella (Moffitt) Hays. He spent most of his younger life living in the Topeka area and attended school at the Berryton schools and Shawnee Heights High School. The family moved to Wichita and he graduated from Campus High School in Haysville, Kansas and Wichita State University.

He was united in marriage to Janet Bland on December 5, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas. John retired as co-owner of Ferroloy, Inc., a Wichita foundry, and spent many years in that field. He enjoyed being part of the Payne Township Board after his retirement and had many friends throughout the community. John developed, received a patent and marketed a device, K9-Fork, for dog care. John and Janet enjoyed country living being active for years owning Miniature Horses and had many special friendships by doing so. John was always willing and wanting to help his wife, family, or friends. He loved the Lord and was dedicated to studying his Bible daily and being part of the Summit Church where he highly respected and loved Brother Joe Wright and others there, as well as those he knew from Countryside Christian Church where they attended services for years. He was active and enjoyed being busy and on the go every day never slowing down so this was totally unexpected and he will be greatly missed. We're very thankful to those at the Wesley Hospital for his care and their kindness to his family.

John is survived by his wife, Janet Hays of the home, his sons Jeff and Brian (Christi), four grandchildren, and his wife Janet's parents Kenny and Maxine Daniels, who were like parents to him. John is also survived by his brothers, Richard Hays, Topeka, Kansas and Robert Hays (Jackie), Wamego, Kansas and sister Marcia Kuhlman (Rod), Heber Springs, Arkansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents.

John Philip Hays |1949-2021|

Larry Beam Heidebrecht, 75, concluded his earthly journey on Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Omaha, Nebraska, with his wife of 52 years by his side. His eternal journey in Heaven has begun. Larry was a warehouser at Johns-Manville for almost 30 years before he retired. He also worked at CertainTeed for almost 10 years. Larry was born in McPherson, Kansas, on May 4, 1946, the son of Ralph Franz Heidebrecht and Orpha Idella (Beam) Heidebrecht. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1964 and then attended McPherson College. In 1969 Larry married Kathy Taylor in McPherson, where they lived together until three years ago when they moved to Omaha to be closer to family. Larry and Kathy were members of the First Baptist Church in McPherson for 40 years before they became members of the First Presbyterian Church in Omaha. Larry was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. and the Optimist Club, both in McPherson. He thoroughly enjoyed playing sports during his lifetime, especially baseball with the Babe Ruth team, football in high school and softball with the All-Stars and other teams. One summer he played on four softball teams! Following the Bullpups during any season was a must, especially when his son and daughter were participating. Larry loved to go hunting and had such perfect vision that he could see quail and pheasant a half mile ahead on the road! He was a scholar of the Civil War and enjoyed reading historical biographies, narratives, and non-fiction. Larry followed his favorite sports teams and often could rattle off a list of players and stats at any given moment. He also loved class reunions, where he sometimes portrayed the Great Karnac, and family reunions, and any reunions when the Aces were involved. And, oh, how he loved the Aces! He was known for his exquisite handwriting, perfect memory and perfect kindness, honesty and charity. Larry was also a meticulous accountant for the household, also, and rarely needed a calculator! He was a generous and hard-working provider for his family and always ensured his children could attend summer camps, take family vacations and excel in their interests, all of which generated so many wonderful memories. Larry particularly loved his canine and feline pets, who equally relished in his attentions and provided him great companionship throughout his life. No one could ever say an unkind word about Larry. Survivors include: his wife Kathy, Omaha, NE; two children, Matthew Taylor Heidebrecht (Inga), Omaha, NE, and Sarah Elizabeth Heidebrecht, Hanover, NH; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Lukas David and Markus James, both of Omaha, and Nova Lise of Hanover, NH; his brother, John "Babe" Stanley Heidebrecht of Wichita, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carmon Ray Heidebrecht and Ralph Richard Heidebrecht. Honorary pallbearers are the original Aces: John Holecek, Mike Jones, Bob Kelly, Terry Rhea, Stu Wood and Michael Wood (deceased). The family will receive friends at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson, KS, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021. He was known for his exquisite handwriting, perfect memory and perfect kindness, honesty and charity. Larry was also a meticulous accountant for the household, also, and rarely needed a calculator! He was a generous and hard-working provider for his family and always ensured his children could attend summer camps, take family vacations and excel in their interests, all of which generated so many wonderful memories. Larry particularly loved his canine and feline pets, who equally relished in his attentions and provided him great companionship throughout his life. No one could ever say an unkind word about Larry. Survivors include: his wife Kathy, Omaha, NE; two children, Matthew Taylor Heidebrecht (Inga), Omaha, NE, and Sarah Elizabeth Heidebrecht, Hanover, NH; his grandchildren, whom he adored, Lukas David and Markus James, both of Omaha, and Nova Lise of Hanover, NH; his brother, John "Babe" Stanley Heidebrecht of Wichita, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carmon Ray Heidebrecht and Ralph Richard Heidebrecht. Sharon Kay Palmgren, 79, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away September 21, 2021, at Hospice House of Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born March 19, 1942, in Lyons, the daughter of Hiram and Marceline Tener Smith. 

Sharon was a near lifelong Rice County resident. She graduated from Lyons High School, with the class of 1960, and attended Union 5 Schools. Sharon owned and operated Burrton Mini Mall in Burrton, Kansas, where she sold arts &amp; crafts; she was also a Avon Sales Representative; military spouse; and a homemaker. She enjoyed making arts and crafts, especially Burden Bears, which she enjoyed giving away. Sharon loved spending time with her family and ingrained the love of family into her own family. Sharon was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Lyons, where she sang in the church choir and served on several church committees; and was a member of the United Methodist Women. On August 27, 1971, Sharon was united in marriage with John Palmgren in Hutchinson, Kansas. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her six children, Chris Allen Morrison and wife Christy of Lyons, Steve Morrison and wife Tonya of Whitewater, TX, John Chris Palmgren of Salina, KS, Dan Brown and wife Haley of Nesbit, MS, Jennifer Demoret and husband Brad of Lynchburg, VA, and Cynthia Rivera and fiancé Jeremy Bilson of Lyons; twenty-five grandchildren; and forty-one great grandchildren and one on the way. Mattie Bernice Hemry, 84, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away September 20, 2021, at her home. 

She was born March 25, 1937, in Haxton, Colorado, the daughter of John and Zella Spelts Luntsford. Mattie has resided in Lyons since 1952, formerly of Denver, Colorado. She attended Lyons High School, Lyons. Mattie received her CNA, CMA, Activities Aide, Rehabilitation Aide, and Alzheimer’s Aide certificates from Good Samaritan Society. She was a certified nurse aide, med aide, and rehabilitation aide at Good Samaritan Society of Lyons from 1983 until her retirement in 2012. Mattie dedicated ten years in the Angels Wing of Good Samaritan Society. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, and the First Christian Church, both of Lyons. Mattie volunteered at the Rice County Women’s Thrift Shop, Rice County Food Bank, Boy Scout cabin, and volunteered at Good Samaritan Society, to host ice cream socials and bingo nights, and run the soda shop. She attended dinners at Park Place and traveled on bus trips with the Park Place residents. On July 5, 1954, Mattie was united in marriage with Larry Hemry in Lyons. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1986. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and step brother, Robert Shank. Arlene Jean Barrett, 93 of Lost Springs, formerly of Herington, danced through heaven’s gates on September 19, 2021, at Herington Municipal Hospital.

Arlene was born on June 3, 1928, in Latimer, KS to William Frank Ohm and Martha Emma Johanna Pegorsch. She attended school at the Lutheran Parochial School, then the school in Latimer. Prior to marriage she cleaned houses, apartments and worked at the Herington Air Base. After marriage she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for her and Lloyd’s business Barrett Plumbing. On July 24, 1948, she married the love of her life, Lloyd Barrett at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington. They spent 49 wonderful years together before his passing in 1997. To this marriage was born a daughter, Marsha, with whom Arlene lived with in Lost Springs the last 13 months of her life.

Arlene, lovingly known to family as “Madam Queen”, was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved to garden, play checkers, dominoes, and cards, she also loved to embroider, dance and sing silly songs. Arlene’s favorite meal was fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, but her signature meal was chicken noodle soup, deviled eggs, and peanut butter cookies. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Marsha Pagenkopf (Mark), of Lost Springs, KS; grandchildren; Holly Stenfors of Ormond Beach, FL, Kelly (Leanne) Wonser of Goessel, KS, Mark (Julie) Pagenkopf II of Lincolnville, KS; Great-grandchildren; Amanda (Michael) Patterson of Herington, KS, Hannah (Matthew) Calisi of Daytona Beach, FL, Logan, Adam, Dawson Wonser of Goessel, KS, Marlie Pagenkopf and Weston Pagenkopf of Lincolnville, KS; and great great-grandchildren; Sadie Patterson of Herington KS, Sage and Hazel Calisi of Daytona Beach, FL. Ruby had a passion for friend and family gatherings and all&nbsp;Holidays. She was also an amazing Hostess! &nbsp; George William Hodson Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021, at 6:15 AM. He was the widower of Jeanette Marvelle Hodson, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage, and Maxine (McHenry) Hodson, with whom he shared 5 years of marriage. Born in Taylor, Nebraska on May 20, 1937, George was the son of Ralph and Blanche Hodson. He graduated Taylor High School in 1955, Central Christian College in 1957, and Washington State University in the early 1960s with a degree in Industrial Arts. He was employed at many different jobs throughout his life, including High School Industrial Arts teacher, dorm parent and head of maintenance, insurance salesman, fertilizer plant assistant manager, and farmer. George belonged to the Free Methodist Church in McPherson, and later was part of the Northwest Free Methodist Church in Wichita. He was a Sunday school teacher, a worship leader, and a choir singer for many years. He had a great work ethic, loved helping others, and he liked new challenges. From fixing broken items to assembling all types of puzzles or learning a new game, he was always ready to play. George loved working with his hands outside and enjoying nature. LaWanda L. Hoffman, 88, died September 20, 2021, at the Thorne Healthcare Center, Hutchinson. She was born October 12, 1932, in Great Bend, the daughter of August and Hattie Mae Bryant Langrehr. She was a graduate of Ellinwood High School and had attended Salt City Business College. She attended Crossroads Christian Church and was retired from Graphic Impressions Sign Company.

She married Frank Hoffman, Sr on April 10, 1951 in Ellinwood. He passed away on March 4, 2012.

Survivors include her children, Vicky Hoffman, Burrton, Nancy (Craig) Allen, Windom, Joan (Dave) Schrag, South Hutchinson, Donna (Chuck) Hoefer, Hutchinson, Frank Hoffman, Jr., Hutchinson, and Scott (Julia) Hoffman, Spivey; 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harry and Dwayne Langrehr.

Debra Lynn "Debi" Hill, 68, of McPherson, passed away at 9:45 p.m., Friday, September 17th, 2021 peacefully at Cedars House. Debi was born in McPherson, Kansas on January 1, 1953, a daughter of Robert L. and Shirley Ann (Shafer) Hill. Debi attended the McPherson elementary schools and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1971. She then attended and graduated from Hutchinson Junior College, Hutchinson, with her degree in Accounting. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson. Debi started working for the Hutchinson National Bank in the Accounting Department for 3 years prior to working for Keith G. Mines, Accounting, McPherson, as an Assistant Accountant for 7 years. She then worked for McPherson Business Machines for 10 years as the Bookkeeper and Accountant; then worked 3 years for the McPherson County Tag Department prior to her retirement. During her retirement she volunteered for M.C.D.S. and Disability Supports, both of McPherson and the gift shop at the McPherson Hospital. Debi enjoyed all sporting events especially the NJCAA Basketball Tournaments in Hutchinson, where she had tickets for any years, cheering on the Bullpups, playing bingo and spending time with her friends and family. Clifford, Vernon, and Laurel, and her sister Lydia.&nbsp; She enjoyed fishing in the farm pond, watching birds, gardening, and music. &nbsp; Erma attended Morgan County Public Schools, and on May 19, 1949 she graduated from Versailles High School.&nbsp; Upon her confession of faith, Erma was baptized on April 12, 1944 by the Rev. Howard Raid at the Bethel Mennonite Church, Fortuna, MO, where she was a lifelong member.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Erma attended Bluffton College in Bluffton Ohio before beginning work as a secretary for most of her adult life.

In the late 1960s she moved to Newton, where she lived until her marriage to Wilbert “Toby” Goering on July 27, 1985, at which time she moved to Moundridge.&nbsp; All of a sudden she not only became a wife, but also a stepmother and grandmother.&nbsp; After becoming part of the Goering family, Erma joined Toby in attending Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition to following the stock&nbsp; market, Erma continued to enjoy gardening, fishing, bird watching, and travelling around the United States with Toby after her retirement.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Erma is survived by three step children, Janice Johnson (Merlyn) of Greeley, CO,&nbsp; Sharon Regehr (Duane) of Hesston, &amp; Barb Goering (Joe Smucker) of Newton, two former daughters-in-law Carol Goering of Hutchinson and Ailene Amador of Hutchinson, ten step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Daniel and Elma, her husband, Toby Goering, brothers D. Clifford, Vernon, &amp; Laurel, her sister, Lydia Lehman, stepson Larry Goering, grandchild Kerry Johnson, and great grandchild Sierra Issel.

Master Chief Petty Officer Navy ‘SEAL’ Douglas Jack McNutt, 56, of Sterling, Kansas, passed away September 12, 2021, at his home. 

He was born February 3, 1965, in Lyons, Kansas, the son of Earl Henry McNutt and Nancy Lucinda “Cindy” Heter McNutt. Doug has resided in Sterling since 2015, formerly of Coronado, California. He graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1983, where he led the football team undefeated to the State Championship. Doug was a retired United States Navy ‘SEAL’, where he served for 30 years. He enjoyed nature walks, exercising, meditation, especially at Quivira National Refuge, and most of all spending quality time with those close to him. Doug was a member of the Native American Church and served on the Board of Directors for OMS Church. On August 23, 1989, Doug was married to Mary Lee Kelly in San Diego, California. They later divorced. On January 1, 2004, Doug was married to Loranne Miller in Sterling. They later divorced. He is survived by his two sons, Tom McNutt and Scott McNutt and wife Bethany all of Sacremento, CA; daughter, Sophia McNutt and fiancé Moe both of Bowie, MD; brother, Bradley Earl McNutt and wife Pam of Wichita, KS; sister, Emily Kay McNutt of Woodstock, NY; uncle, Bob Heter and wife Nancy of Sterling; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close lifelong friends and brothers in service. He is preceded in death by his parents; and uncle, Bill Heter.

Marjorie was born April 13, 1937, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Theodore R. and Doris V. (Troy) Carson. On July 10, 1955, she married Michael L. Trotter in Hutchinson. He died on April 18, 1967. She married James C. Wandel on May 7, 1993 in Hutchinson. He died on June 22, 2012. She was a lifetime resident of Hutchinson and was a homemaker. Marjorie was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Michael Trotter and James Wandel; a son, Michael Trotter; three brothers, Robert Carson, Roger Carson and George Carson; a sister, Diana Wilkinson and a granddaughter, Stephanie Trotter.

Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Annette Russett and Nola (Kevin) Doering; a step-daughter, Lynda (James) Johnson; a sister, Mildred Swain; three grandchildren, Nathan (Amber) Looney, Jaklynn (Nathan) Welker and Seth Russett; two step-grandchildren, Mandy (Lidia) Johnson-Lopez and Jennifer Johnson and seven great-grandchildren.

Scott Edwin Neher, 56, died September 18, 2021, at his home. He was born February 11, 1965, in Pittsburg, to Doyle H. and Sharon K. (Bailey) Neher.

Scott worked as a maintenance technician at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson for 34 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and camping. Scott was a member of the Amateur Radio Association and Maranatha Mennonite Church.

On March 25, 1989, he married Linda Ruth Boese in South Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, Christopher Neher (Savana) of Hutchinson, Katelyn Harmon (Dustin) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Shiloh Neher and Seriniti Harmon; parents, Doyle and Sharon Neher of Pfeifer; siblings, Steve Neher (Jolene) of Lawrence, Vicki Stoll (Dave) of Collinsville, OK, Pam Hernandez (Marcelo) of Branson, MO, Jeff Neher (Jesica) of Pfeifer; and numerous extended family members.

Delores Ann Gouge was born February 18, 1938 in rural Huron County, Michigan. Her parents were Alfred H. and Verna Dietzel.

Delores graduated from Pigeon High School in 1956. Delores got her LPN license a few years later in LaJunta, Colorado. A man named Dewey Gouge worked in the laundry of the hospital where Delores did her clinical work. He swept her off her feet. Her first job was in the same hospital she received her training.

Dewey and Delores were married November 29, 1959. In 1963 they moved to Pigeon, Michigan, where they had their first child, Dewey Robert Gouge, Jr. Next they moved to Whitewater, Kansas. On November 23, 1954 a daughter, Debra Cay, was born. Then on November 23, 1965 a second daughter, Pamela Sue, was born. They moved to Buhler in 1969. In 1978 Delores went back to work. She had not renewed her license when they moved to Colorado because the next state said she would need more coursework done. So she took a job as a janitor at Central Christian, the school where her daughters would attend the next year. She worked until Pam was in college. Then to stay active Dewey and Delores took tickets for games at Central. They joined a senior Bible group called Young at Hearts.

Delores enjoyed gardening until she moved to Sunshine Meadows Assisted Living in 2016. She moved to the nursing home in 2019. Her last move was to Heaven to live with her Lord on September 19, 2021.

Delores’s parents preceded her in death, along with her sister, Jeannette Reibling and her husband Edsel, and two of her brothers, Cleason Dietzel and Alfred Dietzel, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Dewey Jr., Debra and Pamela; two brothers, Kenneth Dietzel (Judy) and Gerald Dietzel (Judy); in laws, Louise Dietzel and Georgia Dietzel; and an aunt, Helen Loewen.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Buhler Mortuary.  Burial will follow at Buhler East Cemetery. Lloyd Leeman Fundenberger, 84, of Lyons, passed away September 19, 2021 at Hospital District #1 of Rice County, Lyons. He was born November 17, 1936, in Lyons, the son of Leeman Ray “L.R.” and Amanda Josephine Barks Fundenberger. Lloyd was a lifelong Lyons resident. He was owner and operator of Fundenberger Construction and Concrete for 60 plus years. Lloyd was a member of the NRA, Rice County Sportsman Club, Liar’s Fishing Club, and the Kansas Bowhunters Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, rebuilding antique cars, and most of all giving candy to all of his grandchildren. On April 23, 1955, Lloyd was united in marriage with Delores Faye Zent in WaKeeney. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his four sons, Vernon Fundenberger and wife Kathy of Sturgis, SD, Steve Fundenberger and wife Francine of Lyons, Eldon Fundenberger and wife Pam of Lyons, and Darren Fundenberger and wife Tammy of Lyons; brother, George C. Fundenberger and wife Ann of Lyons; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. On Friday September 17, 2021, Edmond Lee Spencer entered Heaven’s Gate. He was born September 12, 1940, and was the son of Willis and Leoma Spencer. He was united in marriage 59 years ago to Carolyn Spencer on May 24, 1962.

Edmond was a long time over the road truck driver with a perfect over 1 million miles incident free driving record. To fellow truckers he was known by his radio CB handle “Rusty Nail.” After trucking, Edmond turned his focus to spending time with his loving wife and supporting his grandchildren in their activities. He could be seen at gymnastic meets, softball games, wrestling meets, football, track, basketball, and school concerts and plays cheering for those that he loved dearly. Edmond has three children Matt Spencer, Edmond (Eddie) Jr, and Becky Fetrow. He was a dad to his “outlaws” Darla Spencer and Kelley Spencer and son in law Bruce Fetrow. His grandchildren and great grandchildren loved him without exception: Dallas wells, Kasey Orlik, Hunter Spencer, Kaylyn Spencer, Dakota Spencer, Shyla Harris, Shyann Harris, Lilliana Salamone-Harris, and Barrett Orlik. Edmond was met in heaven by his loving wife of 59 years, his parents, and a sister.

Edmond could be seen daily at Town &amp; Country Café, which he was part owner, greeting locals, regulars, and having trucker talk with OTR truckers who visited frequently to catch up with him. He served as mayor of Florence and served on numerous boards in town. Edmond loved having family get togethers and was first to serve himself at family meals. He gave love and received love from everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed and always loved.

Edmond’s family will gather with friends on Friday, September 24, 10 a.m. at the Christian Church of Florence, of which he served as an Elder, for his funeral service led by Pastor Mitchel Diemer. He will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence, following the service.

Ronald Keith Mauck, 71, was born at Newton Medical Center in Newton, to Hoyt and Irene Mauck on October 10, 1949. After being taught about God and living for Christ from infancy, he was baptized into Christ as a teenager and faithfully loved and served the Lord the rest of his life. He graduated from Frederic Remington High School, Whitewater, in 1967. He then attended Oklahoma Christian College for four years and earned a BSE Degree. He taught junior high science classes in Midwest City, Oklahoma from 1971 until 1976, and then he and Ginger moved back to the family farm near Whitewater, Kansas to farm and also work for Ron’s brother, Don, running heavy equipment. Ron was a man of hard work and integrity, always committed to giving his all to what he was doing.

While attending Oklahoma Christian, Ron met Virginia (Ginger) Ann Summers and they were married on August 12, 1972. They were gifted with two children, Tracy Klaassen and Matt Mauck. Time spent with them and the grandchildren were a joy to him. Ron loved spending his spare time riding four wheelers with his grandchildren and friends, hunting, traveling with family and friends, and serving his church.

Ron served as an elder at Northside Church of Christ for 16 years and excelled in welcoming and connecting visitors and members. People were attracted to his joyful nature and genuine care for them. He was so friendly that it seemed like he never met a stranger. Ron died at home on September 19, after valiantly battling a rare neurological disease for 6 years. One of the things Ron missed most these past few years was getting to be out and about seeing and talking to people. Every card, call, meal and visit meant the world to him, especially meals shared with precious friends and the worship services held at the house. Good Shepherd Hospice of Newton was a tremendous source of help and strength to both Ron and Ginger for several months. The staff is very treasured and loved.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Irene Mauck and his step mother Winifred (Claypool) Mauck. He is survived by his wife, Ginger, of rural Benton, his daughter Tracy (Kourt) Klaassen of rural Whitewater, his son Matt (Kim) Mauck of Durant, Oklahoma, and five wonderful and hugely loved grandchildren, Dylan and Drew Klaassen and Katelyn, Cameron, and Kennedy Mauck. He is also survived by his two brothers, Don (Archie) Mauck of rural Whitewater and Paul (Diane) Mauck of Mead, Oklahoma, several cousins, and many nephews and nieces.

There will be a celebration of life memorial service at Northside Church of Christ, 4545 N Meridian, Wichita, at 1:00 p.m. on September 21, 2021.

Wanda Neyhart Fox died on September 18, 2021 at Salem Home in Hillsboro, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fox and a brother, Charles Neyhart. She is survived by her brothers, Paul Neyhart of Filer, Idaho, EJ Burke of Crofton, Nebraska, Alvin Burke of Dannebrog, Nebraska, daughter, Malinda Stuchlik (Ken) of Marion,&nbsp; son, Dale Fox (Becky) of Westmoreland, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was born on December 10, 1933 in Nelson, Nebraska. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1952 and afterward attended Stormont-Vail Nursing School in Topeka. She was united in marriage to John Fox on June 29, 1957 in Beloit, after meeting him when her car broke down due to engine problems. Two years after they were married they moved to Norton,&nbsp; where she was Registered Nurse at Norton County Hospital for 35 years, a job she loved especially when she became a labor and delivery nurse. Upon retirement she moved to Lehigh, to be closer to family and the milder winters. Wanda especially enjoyed traveling to visit family and while belonging to the Kansas Campers and Hikers Association traveled extensively across the country and was involved in many of their activities. She was an avid bowler, gardener and spent many years as a Girl Scout leader. Later in life she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro,&nbsp; at 10:00. Interment will be immediately following the service at the Glen Elder Cemetery in Glen Elder.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dewey and Delores were married November 29, 1959. In 1963 they moved to Pigeon, Michigan, where they had their first child, Dewey Robert Gouge, Jr. Next they moved to Whitewater. On November 23, 1954 a daughter, Debra Cay, was born. Then on November 23, 1965 a second daughter, Pamela Sue, was born. They moved to Buhler in 1969. In 1978 Delores went back to work. She had not renewed her license when they moved to Colorado because the next state said she would need more coursework done. So she took a job as a janitor at Central Christian, the school where her daughters would attend the next year. She worked until Pam was in college. Then to stay active Dewey and Delores took tickets for games at Central. They joined a senior Bible group called Young at Hearts.

Delores got her LPN license a few years later in LaJunta, Colorado. A man named Dewey Gouge worked in the laundry of the hospital where Delores did her clinical work. He swept her off her feet. Her first job was in the same hospital she received her training.Dewey and Delores were married November 29, 1959.
