Clayton Eugene Hyder, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 82. He was born in Springfield, Missouri to Rachel Marie (Davison) Hyder and Albert Frank Hyder. Clayton was born and raised in Elkland, Missouri, graduating from Elkland High School in 1958. While showing sheep at the Empire State Fair in Springfield, Missouri, he met his wife, Lora Lee Duncan. He lived in Mountain View, Missouri, Elkland, Missouri, La Cygne, Kansas, and Valley Center, Kansas during his lifetime. Clayton was drafted by the US Army in March of 1963. He was stationed in Kitzingen, Germany serving two years and eleven months. He enjoyed hunting, farming, ranching, and being outdoors. Clayton was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his father Albert Frank Hyder, his mother Rachel Marie (Davison) Hyder, and his sister, Jean Ann Hyder.

Clayton is survived by his wife Lora Lee (Duncan) Hyder; children, Brenda Lee (Hyder) Nash of Wichita, and Steven Eugene Hyder of Evanston, Ill.; grandchildren, Brian Paul Nash of Wichita, and Sarah Elizabeth Nash of Wichita.; niece, Jessica (Hyder) Martin of Chino Valley, AZ., and Chris Tuckness of Fairbanks, AK.

A graveside service will be held at the Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Clayton’s memory to: Harry Hynes Hospice, and American Heart Association.
