Lori’s life began on February 13, 1971, at Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix, AZ. She was the daughter or Les (Brenda) Lalouette and Marilyn (Bezdek) Lalouette. Lori was a 1989 graduate of Marion High School and the class Salutatorian. She continued her education at Fort Hays State University before transferring to Wichita State where she graduated with a triple major and near the top of her class. Lori later went onto Washburn University where she earned a Juris Doctorate in Law. She worked as a computer systems engineer for several years prior to law school and after graduating in the top 10% of her class, opened her law practice in Hillsboro.

Lori served as a Marion County Commissioner and village attorney for Lincolnville. In high school, she participated in debate club and participated in FFA. Lori was an avid reader and researcher. If she did not know how to do something she researched the problem until she solved it. She never gave up. She also learned to be an amateur electrician, plumber, and carpenter. Lori and her spouse, Randy Crawford found each other in 2004 and never looked back. Lori is survived by her spouse Randy Crawford of Hillsboro; parents Les (Brenda) Lalouette of Florence, and Marilyn Lalouette of Newton. Lori passed away on October 29, 2021, at Newton Medical Center at 50 years old. She is preceded in death by her sister Lynette Roberts and beloved cat Mindy. Rev. James D. “Jim” Gingerich, 89, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Newton Medical Center.  He was born September 3, 1932 in Harrisburg, New York, the son of Nicholas and Dorothy (Mosher) Gingerich.

Jim graduated from Lowville High School in New York.  He later graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a Master’s of Divinity from Goshen Bible Seminary in Goshen, Indiana.

He was a lifelong minister, starting his career at Warden Mennonite Church in Warden, Washington. He later ministered at Burrton Mennonite Church in Burrton, Kansas, until his final move to First Mennonite Church of Christian in Moundridge, Kansas, where he spent 26 and ½ years, retiring in 1997.  A day after his retirement, Jim started working for General Conference in Newton, Kansas, as director of Mennonite Men from 1997 until 2010.  Jim later worked as a bookkeeper and financial advisor for several businesses, and worked in sales for his son until his death.

He was united in marriage to Roberta Sally Janzen on August 25, 1956 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota.  She survives.

Other survivors include his son, Darwin (Jodi) Gingerich of Moundridge; daughters, Lynette (James) Allen of Moundridge, and Kara Revell of Salina; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marie Snider and her husband, Howard.

Private graveside services will be held at First Mennonite Church Cemetery, Moundridge.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021 at First Mennonite Church of Christian in Moundridge. Donald Dean Sorenson, 72, of McPherson, passed away on October 26, 2021. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He raised his family in Holcomb, residing there for almost 30 years before retiring, and returning to his childhood hometown of McPherson. Don was born July 9, 1949, to Chloris (Grout) and Maurice Sorenson. He grew up in McPherson where he graduated from high school in 1968. He was part of the MHS basketball team, where his adoration of Bullpup basketball and the Roundhouse began. He continued his education at Emporia State University and graduated with a Business Degree. He also attended Central Christian College, McPherson. Throughout his childhood, ‘Donnie’ spent much of his time at his family’s business, United Dairies, where he delivered milk to the residents and businesses of McPherson. His love for dairy and ice cream led him to his soon-to-be wife, Cora, as they first met at Dairy Queen, where she was working. They began dating and later were married on June 8, 1974. After uniting in marriage, they moved to southwest Kansas and began growing their family. Don worked in the oil and gas industry for almost 30 years, but his true passion was found in his family. He was a volunteer coach for many youth sports teams. He found great joy in watching his own children participate in athletics and extra-curricular activities. Don’s grandchildren knew that their Papa always kept his freezer stocked with ice cream— usually with his favorite treat, drumsticks. Survivors include four children, Kami VanCampen (Eric) of McPherson, KS, Kelly Sorenson (Annie) of McPherson, Kelsie Jusko (Eric) of McPherson, and Keaton Sorenson of McPherson; brothers, Lynn Sorenson (Joyce) of Bonner Springs, and Gayle Sorenson of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren including Parker, Paisley, and Piper VanCampen, Cooper and Boston Sorenson, Landri and Tripp Jusko, Lanay Grothen; and many nieces and nephews. Carl Henry Hoelscher, 95, of Bushton, Kansas, passed away October 29, 2021 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. 

He was born July 21, 1926, in rural Chase, Kansas, the son of Homer David and Lydia Anna Mehl Hoelscher. Carl graduated from Bushton Rural High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He has farmed in the Bushton area since 1951. Carl was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, rural Bushton and Gideons International. Carl enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. On November 12, 1950, Carl was united in marriage with Velma L. Cruth in Bushton. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1981. On November 23, 1985, Carl was united in marriage with Helene Clark Appel in Bushton. She preceded him in death on August 10, 1998. On August 14, 1999, Carl was united in marriage with Lois Doughty Biehler Behnke in Bushton. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2010. Carl is also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patricia Carlene “Patti” Hoelscher Rolfs; two brothers, Verl and Alvin Hoelscher; and two brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Frees and Jim Fredrickson. Angeline “Angie” Catherine Biggs, 93, died Oct. 28, 2021 at Park West, Wichita.

She was born May 29, 1928, in St. Mary’s Aleppo, Kansas, the daughter of Michael Jacob Martin, Jr. and Angela Marie Ewertz Martin.&nbsp; A longtime resident of Kingman County, previously of St. Mary’s, Garden Plain and Andale, she was a retired teacher.

Angie received her education at St. Mary’s Aleppo Grade School, Andale High School, Newman University and Wichita State University.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kingman, St. Catherine of Sienna in Wichita; and the Daughters of Isabella.

On Oct. 24, 1950, Angie married Daniel Biggs, Jr. at St. Mary’s Aleppo; he died Apr. 1, 2011. Survivors include sons Gregory (Jeri), Wichita, Bradley (Sherri), Shalimar, FL, and Daniel III (Elvira), Miami, FL; daughters Sharon (Bill) Buscher, Topeka, Constance (John) Leavitt, Olathe, Marianne (Bruce) Larue, Oberlin, and Judith (Benjamin) Garbuio, Washington, D.C.; sisters Joan Wood-Smith, Wichita, Patricia Beardsley, Omaha, NE and Mary Bremerman, Salina; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. &nbsp;She was also preceded in death by brothers Louis and Raphael Martin; and sisters Rose Marie Kasel and Betty Bowling.

Parish rosary will be 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the church. &nbsp;Friends may call at the Livingston Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Angeline “Angie” Catherine Biggs, 93, died Oct. 28, 2021 at Park West, Wichita.She was born May 29, 1928, in St. Mary’s Aleppo, Kansas, the daughter of Michael Jacob Martin, Jr. and Angela Marie Ewertz Martin.&nbsp; A longtime resident of Kingman County, previously of St. Mary’s, Garden Plain and Andale, she was a retired teacher.Angie received her education at St. Mary’s Aleppo Grade School, Andale High School, Newman University and Wichita State University.She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kingman, St. Catherine of Sienna in Wichita; and the Daughters of Isabella.On Oct. 24, 1950, Angie married Daniel Biggs, Jr. at St. Mary’s Aleppo; he died Apr. 1, 2011. Survivors include sons Gregory (Jeri), Wichita, Bradley (Sherri), Shalimar, FL, and Daniel III (Elvira), Miami, FL; daughters Sharon (Bill) Buscher, Topeka, Constance (John) Leavitt, Olathe, Marianne (Bruce) Larue, Oberlin, and Judith (Benjamin) Garbuio, Washington, D.C.; sisters Joan Wood-Smith, Wichita, Patricia Beardsley, Omaha, NE and Mary Bremerman, Salina; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. &nbsp;She was also preceded in death by brothers Louis and Raphael Martin; and sisters Rose Marie Kasel and Betty Bowling.Parish rosary will be 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kingman. On January 28, 1961, she married Francisco “Frank” Torrez, Sr., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, when it was located on Avenue E and Adams, Hutchinson.

Mary is survived by:&nbsp; her husband of almost 61 years, Frank; children, Frank Torrez, Jr. (Bridget), Karen Torrez, Joe Torrez (Cathy), and Lisa Torrez, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Angelina Rivera of Hutchinson and Carmen Mello of Las Vegas, NV; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Raymond G. “Ray” Torrez; and seven brothers and sisters.

Burton W. Snyder passed away on October 27, 2021, at Mennonite Friendship Communities.  He was born on March 26, 1920, to Burt and Rachel (Dowdy) Snyder in St. John, Kansas.  Burton grew up west of St. John on the farm homesteaded by his grandfather.  He graduated from St. John High School in 1939.

Burton was a WWII veteran, serving in the South Pacific with the Coast Guard.

He married Virginia Ann Taylor on January 22, 1950, at her parents’ home, in rural St. John.  They shared 71 years of marriage. They resided on the Snyder farm for 60 years as farmers.  Upon retiring, Burton and Virginia Ann traveled internationally and in the United States.

They moved to Hutchinson in 2010, and to Mennonite Friendship Communities in 2017.

Survivors include:  wife, Virginia Ann of the home; daughter, Eileen (Mark) Yamauchi, Hutchinson; son, Lance (Olivia) Snyder, Ouray, Colorado; grandchildren; Sara Yamauchi, Hutchinson, Crystal (Paul) Gonzales, Hutchinson, Adam Snyder, Durango, Colorado, and Eloris Snyder, Houston, Texas; great grandchildren, Quentin (Casey) Clapp, Hutchinson, and Kaiya Vallas-Yamauchi, Hutchinson, and a great-great -grandson due January 2022; and brother-in-law, Tom (Jean) Taylor, Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wendell and Wayne Snyder

Cremation has taken place.  A graveside service will take place at a future date.

Lauren’s life began on September 18, 1948, the son of Willard and Lena (Neufeld) Thiessen in Newton, Kansas. He graduated from Berean Academy Class of 1966 and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University in 1971. He married the love of his life, Jo Ann (Giebler) Gottschalk on May 8, 1982, in Hays, Kansas.

Lauren retired from Scott Rice Office Interiors as a salesman in 2018. He was a member of Central Christian Church where he taught marriage classes, mentored married couples, and was an elder. He was also a member of Bel Aire Chamber of Commerce. He loved his family especially the grandkids, fishing, golfing, and restoring his 1979 El Camino. His loving family includes his wife, Jo Ann of the home; sons, Garry Thiessen of Ames, Iowa, Brent Thiessen (Wendy) of Marshalltown, Iowa, Scott Thiessen (Tammy) of Avon, Ohio, Cory Gottschalk of Norman, Oklahoma, Chad Gottschalk (Cassie) of Wichita; daughter, Nicole Thiessen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters and their husbands, Jolyn and Dave Stark of Raymore, Missouri and Lavada and Dan Klinger of Phillipsburg, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. Anna was born on June 5, 1947, in Durango, Mexico, the daughter of Felipe´ Galarza and Maria E. Santillano.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: three children, Oscar Galindo (Eva Galindo) of Temecula, CA, Anna Galindo (John Pyle) of El Dorado, KS, and Carmen Schowengerdt-Moore (Derek Moore) of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Oscar Galindo, Jr., Alex Galindo, Naomi Galindo, Jason Schowengerdt, Jr., Rosario Schowengerdt, and Derek Moore, Jr.; and many extended family and friends.

She was born on Feb. 24, 1931 at Eagle City, OK., the daughter of Charles A. and Jessie M. (Stott) Martin. She worked 17 years as a cook for St. John District Hospital and previously ran the Delp’s Café and worked as a clerk at Rexall Drug store, all of St. John.  On Feb. 9, 1951 she married Robert E. Felin at Marshfield, MO., he passed away in 2000.  She loved spending time with her family and hosting meals which she prepared from scratch.  She loved the Atlanta Braves Baseball team, watching NASCAR, drinking Dr. Pepper in her Mark Martin mug and listening to Johnny Rodriguez sing.  She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (Joe) Hearn, St. John, KS., Cathey (Gary) Johnson, Larned, KS., Sandra Spencer, Hutchinson, KS; a brother, Eldon (Joyce) Martin, Mannford, OK; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a son Bobby Felin, daughter-in-law Cindy Marie, an infant daughter, brothers, Rex and Joe, sisters, Bonnie and Barbara.

Lavina M. Yoder, 94, died Oct. 24, 2021 in Kingman.

She was born July 6, 1927, at St. Francis, Kansas the daughter of George Daniel and Josephine C. Tagtmeyer Felzien.&nbsp; A longtime Kingman resident, she was a retired beautician

On June 26, 1943, she married Floyd Yoder at Goodland, Kansas; he died Oct. 22, 2007.&nbsp; Survivors include grandchildren Troy Yoder, Kelsey Yoder, Laurie Simmons, Christy Johnston and Stasi Fox.&nbsp; She was also preceded in death by son Danny Yoder; two brothers and two sisters.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Nov. 15, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Kingman.

Larry L. Harbin, 80, died Oct. 26, 2021 at Cunningham, Kansas.

He was born Nov. 7, 1940, at Anthony, Kansas the son of Squire Oliver and Beryl Helene Wilcox.&nbsp; A resident of the Harper and Anthony communities most of his life, he was a retired auto mechanic.

Larry was a 1959 graduate of Anthony High school where he excelled in sports and was an Eagle Scout.&nbsp; He was also active in the Anthony Gun Club.

He married Barbara J. Renollet.&nbsp; He married Donna Burling on Aug. 24, 1985, at Anthony.&nbsp; Other survivors include sons and their wives, Mike and Carol, Brad, Mark and Pam and Galen and Claudia; step-daughter Joyce Ann Robinson and husband David; step-son Marvin Burling, Jr. and wife Shannon; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.&nbsp; He was preceded by a brother Donald Jack Harbin and his sister Donna Sue DeWoody.

Richard “Dick” Arthur Stow, 88, of Buhler, Kansas, passed away on his 88th birthday, Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.  He was born October 28, 1933, in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Orville and Mabel (Bloomberg) Stow.

He graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Iowa, with the class of 1951. 

Dick was enlisted in the United States Navy from 1955-1959, attaining the rank of Engineman 2nd class.

He was a member of the Young at Hearts in Hutchinson.  Dick attended Union Valley Bible Church in Hutchinson.

Dick worked as a Poultry Serviceman at Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. for 28 years, retiring in 1999.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Semones on November 29, 1968, in Hutchinson, Kansas.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his sister, Mary E. (Phil) McAlearney, and their children, Steve McAlearney and Sheryl McAlearney.

Amy Laynae Archer, 48, passed away October 27, 2021 surrounded by all of her family. She was born July 19, 1973 in Great Bend, the daughter of Greg and Yvonne Zimmerman Sumner. Amy graduated high school in 1993 and worked as a CNA in high school. After high school, Amy was united in marriage to Mark Archer on September 18, 1993 where they then moved to McPherson, to start their life together. She enjoyed playing recreational volleyball each week. Amy had a vast social network. She would frequently call to visit her family and friends along with very frequent visits to all the neighbors.

Survivors include her husband Mark, of the home in McPherson; parents, Norcatur; children, Andrew (Significant other, Courtney), Norcatur, and Gracie Archer, Ellinwood; a granddaughter, Emery; brother, Todd Sumner, Norcatur; sister, Michelle Homolka, Ellsworth; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and numerous friends. Brenda graduated from Hutchinson High School and Salt City Business College.&nbsp; She was employed for over 30 years at DJ Liquor Store, formerly Rayl’s Liquor Store.&nbsp; Brenda was also employed at Rayl’s Car Wash, then later became the owner and operator of Kay C’s Car Wash for over 10 years.

She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden and attending concerts, no matter the genre of music.&nbsp; Brenda enjoyed working and was a dedicated and hard worker her entire life.

She is survived by:&nbsp; daughters, Letitia ‘Tish’ (Greg) Flores of Hutchinson, Bridget (Gary) Blevins of Joplin, MO, and Wendy (Michael) Brown of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brishna Flores, Gregory Flores, Antonio Flores, Alexis Flores, Cody (Alisha) Pattinson, Chyanne (Brett) Newton, Julio (Kyla) Cantu, Kalib (Ceanna) Blevins, Tanner Brown, and Tatum Brown; six great-grandchildren; and Yorkie fur baby, Sophie Jo.

Roxanne S. Treece, 67, of McPherson, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her home.&nbsp; She was born on January 22, 1954 in Loveland, Colorado, the daughter of Ralph and Barbara (Neitzel) Treece.

She attended Washington Elementary, Loveland Jr. High and Loveland High School.

Roxanne worked as a cook at Sirloin Stockade and the Cedars in McPherson.

She was a member at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson.&nbsp; Roxanne was a former president of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI). &nbsp;She was also a volunteer worker at the Cedars.

Roxanne enjoyed reading and going on drives with Karen.&nbsp; She loved nature and the mountains, and her cats, Dozer and Smokie.

She is survived by her brother, Bruce (Nadine) Treece of Loveland, CO; sisters, Jennifer (Bill) Wagaman of Loveland, CO, and Kaylene Treece of Loveland, CO; and adoptive sisters, Alicia Heim, Mindy Komarek, and Marcy Smith.

Raeburn M. “Marvin” Howard, 92, died October 26, 2021, surrounded by his family, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.&nbsp; He was born April 22, 1929, in Hutchinson, to Raeburn McKinley and Jessie E. (McElwain) Howard.&nbsp;

Marvin grew up on the family farm east of Burrton, attended Page School-District 08 and graduated from Burrton High School.&nbsp; He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.&nbsp; Marvin retired from Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after more than 25 years as a maintenance engineer.&nbsp; Prior to that, he worked at Detroiter MH and in the Great Bend area oil fields as a roughneck in the 50’s &amp; 60’s.&nbsp; He enjoyed “hobby” farming, researching and monitoring investments, artistic painting, creating decorative metal art, working on family home improvements, and attending grandchildren’s activities.

On March 18, 1956, he married Annetta Marie Unruh at First Mennonite Church in Halstead.&nbsp; She died May 1, 2019, after sharing 63 years of marriage.

Marvin is survived by:&nbsp; children, Susan Stroberg (David) of Hutchinson, Steven Howard (Vicki) of Halstead, David Howard (Debbie) of Hutchinson, and Kathy Dey (Mike) of Overland Park; grandchildren, Andrea Kitch (Scott) and their children, Kinley and Kasen, Scott Stroberg (Gretchen) and their children, Lewis, Sylvia, and Hank, Amy Rine (Cody), Aaron Howard (Taryn), Kyle Howard (Malika), Shelby Kaufman (Tyler), Andrew Howard, Ross Howard (Liz), and their child, due January 2022, Jack Howard, Elyse Howard, Owen Dey, and Miles Dey.
