Vicki Sue&nbsp;(Miller)&nbsp;Arick , 76, loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend, went to be with Jesus on October 27, 2021, &nbsp;surrounded by her loved ones at home in Valley Center, where she has lived since 1970.

Vicki was born weighing only 2 lbs. 13 oz. on December 13 to Anne (Nicoson) Miller in Brazil, Indiana in 1944.&nbsp; Anne later married Archie Fry and moved to Valley Center, in 1952.&nbsp; Vicki graduated from Valley Center High School in 1962. She was a Hornets cheerleader and crowned Home Coming Queen her Senior year. &nbsp;After graduation she went to Wichita Business school for 2 years.&nbsp; She worked at Bank Four of Wichita and B &amp; D Instruments of Valley Center. Vicki was most proud of being a "Domestic Engineer" for her family for many years.

She met her husband Bill in 1952 in the 3rd grade and later started dating in the 7th grade. They were married on August 20, 1965 and have been married for 56 years. She supported Bill through his Military service. In 1968 they had their son, Shane Arick in California where they were stationed.&nbsp; In 1970 they moved back to Kansas to lay down roots. They had their daughter Anne in 1971. Vicki had many "bonus" kids that were her kids’ friends that she always treated as her own.

She enjoyed going dancing with her hubby back in the day,&nbsp; ceramic classes, sewing, cooking, the Jaycees club, snow &amp; water skiing, good times at her cabin with all her lake friends, loved watching HER Chiefs, Royals and Hornets play, proud Military wife, loved her country, and a woman of God. She enjoyed her kids and grandkids most of all. That was simply her pride and joy. Later in life she enjoyed QVC and her Ipad to keep connected with her loved ones. She was truly the best mom that never missed anything her kids were doing; supporting them in every way possible.&nbsp; She then became the best grandma ever to 6 grandchildren and one very special great granddaughter that she adored.

Vicki is survived by her husband William ‘Bill’ Arick, children Shane (Kristen) Arick and Anne (Daryl) Hainlen; grandchildren: Felicia (Andrew) Wiesing, Darien Hainlen, Myles (Taylor) Carter, Dagon Arick, Dalton (Jaime) Arick, and Donovyn Arick; great grandchildren: Madeline Arick and one due June 18,&nbsp;2022; sister Judy (Virgil) Shrauner; in-laws Lin (Mike) Neal, and Sue Fry; many nieces and nephews that she adored; numerous other family and friends.&nbsp; She is preceded by her parents Anne &amp; Archie Fry, sister Marilyn Hunt, brother Phil Fry, in-laws Ivan &amp; Dorothy Arick, nephew Ted Hunt, bonus daughter Doni Arbuckle, grandparents Dennis &amp; Cora Nicoson and Amos &amp; Maude Miller;&nbsp; many family and friends.

The family will honor Vicki's wishes to not have a funeral service. There will be a family &amp; close friends graveside service at the Valley Center Cemetery, on Nov. 13th at 3pm.

Nico enjoyed reading, gaming, gardening, animals, especially his cats, and watching anime shows. He loved telling jokes, listening to music, and most of all spending time with his son, Leon Ray Cruz Banuelos and family. Alan Ray ‘Pete’ Maxfield, 72, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully October 31, 2021, at Hospice House. He was born June 22, 1949, in Hutchinson, to LeRoy V. ‘Bus’ and Dorothy F. ‘Dot’ (Renner) Maxfield.

Pete graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. He served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973 and was deployed to Vietnam. Pete worked as a heavy equipment operator for Reno County. He enjoyed reading, loved music, and was fascinated with wolves and everything about them. Pete was of the Baptist faith.

He married Leslie Ann Leonard. She died December 11, 2017.

Pete is survived by: sons, Justin Maxfield of Sedgwick County, Danny Maxfield of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Paige, Harley, and Darian Maxfield; brothers, Jerry Maxfield of Hutchinson, Michael Maxfield (Edie) of Monument, CO; caregivers, Mike and Sally Chansler; and many extended family members.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Ron Kyker officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Alan 'Pete' Ray Maxfield |1949-2021|

Donna Lee Ida (Harcey) Wright was born in Uti­ca, Minnesota, on March 4, 1934, as the 6th of 11 children to Ralph and Ruby (Small) Harcey. As a farm girl, she learned early how to lovingly invest in her family. She was a good student and always valued her education. Reading became her life-long passion, especially in later years, when chores no longer consumed her days.

She accepted Christ as her Savior as a child through the Rural Bible Crusade missionary. As she helped with VBS by leading music, she made a personal commitment to Christ, and began serving Him by teaching Sunday school and children’s clubs soon after. Donna graduated from St. Charles High School in 1951. Donna attended Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute for the purposes of preparing for the mission field. There she met Richard Wright, her husband, who was also preparing for Christian service. Richard and Donna married July 17, 1954, in an outdoor wedding in St. Charles, MN and returned to resume their college education. Though Richard and Donna farmed in early married life, Richard was soon called to the pastorate. In their 67 years of marriage, they served in five different churches in various denominations, always ready to teach the Scriptures. Donna is remembered by her children as the children’s church teacher, carefully walking through the Old and New Testaments with her flannelgraph stories. In addition, the pastor’s wife was found leading Christmas programs, providing special music, preparing newsletters, and doing office work. Richard, her husband, credits his success to her partnering with him in service. When asked what career Donna had, the answers are varied. She has been a pastor’s wife, accountant, store owner, cook, school teacher/daycare director, and always a faithful housewife and patient mother. Her nurturing spirit drew all who knew her to love her. She frequently inquired about the concerns and activities of her friends and family and maintained an active relationship with them. Donna was a lovely soprano, but enjoyed trios over the years. When the family prepared to travel and sing as a support to Dad’s ministry, Donna taught separate parts to the children, so that duets, trios, quartets and fam­ily numbers all had their harmonies in concert. On her last birthday, the entertainment was the family singing Mom’s favorite hymns and songs in close harmony. Christian education was important to Donna. She completed her Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in 1994, fulfilling her life-long dream and enabling her to teach in St. Charles Christian School. Each of her children also attended Christian high school and Christian college, with a design toward being ready to serve the Savior. Those investments and many prac­tical conversations about living for Jesus gave a Biblical worldview to her children, which has since passed on to her grandchildren. All five children have been involved in Christian ministry full-time, either in missions or Christian education. Her grandchildren continue the legacy of being involved in education and/or church ministry. Her legacy is described in Ps 61:5 “For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.” Donna is survived by her husband, Richard, and their children, Paul (Beth) Wright, Mendoza, Argentina; Cherry (Elwyn) Stucky, Whitewater, KS; Sandra (David) Smith, Palmer Lake, CO; Rochelle “Shelly” (Dale) Friesen, Walton, KS; and Richard “Ric” (Jamie) Wright, Elbing, KS; grandchildren, Keren, Jon (Amber), Lisa (Jorge), Ben (Rachel), Josiah, Matthew, Mark, Jordan (Abbi), and Sara; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Caleb, Gideon and two coming this fall; her brother, Stanley (Lavonne) Harcey of St. Charles, MN, and sister, Joyce Narveson, Moberly, MO.

Mikah Jensen Leigh Ansell, infant son of Andrew Ansell and Alexus Barlow-McKenna of Herington, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2021, at the Herington Municipal Hospital. 

Mikah was born on July 27, 2021, at Irwin Army Hospital in Ft. Riley, KS. Mikah’s life on earth might have been short, but the impact he made on his parent’s and grandparent’s life will be long lasting. Mikah, is survived by his parents of the home, his maternal grandparents; John Mckenna and Zarra Barlow, paternal grandparents John Herrick and Kathryn Ansell. Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many other relatives. Carol Mae (Heinrichs) Friesen, age 89, died peacefully on September 18, 2021, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.  Carol was born in Hillsboro, KS, on March 6, 1932, to Peter E. and Lillie (Boese) Heinrichs and raised on the family farm south of Canton with older sister Wanda and younger brother Lowell.  She attended the one-room school near their home, then graduated from Goessel HS in 1950.  She attended Tabor College, where she met Walter S. Friesen from Meade, KS, and they married on September 5, 1953.  They parented three children and lived in many locations in support of Walter’s education and career in education and ministry, retiring in the Newton area. While Carol held numerous secretarial positions and enjoyed volunteering, her passions were music and nature. 

Carol participated in more than thirty church and community choirs, numerous duets, trios, and quartets.  She accompanied many musicians and was a highly expressive pianist.  Carol and Walter sang duets at many weddings, including their children’s.

A keen observer of her environment, Carol coordinated her efforts to the finest detail, taking a scientific approach to adjustments she made in the garden and kitchen.  She nurtured remarkable gardens at each residence.  She was curious to explore new places near and far, and especially enjoyed nature outings with the family. Carol was an amateur naturalist and knew the names and relationships of plants, birds and butterflies in their environments.  She made an art form of collecting and pressing flowers for making exquisitely arranged pressed flower cards.

Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings, and many brothers/sisters-in-law.

Carol Mae (Heinrichs) Friesen, age 89, died peacefully on September 18, 2021, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. Carol was born in Hillsboro, KS, on March 6, 1932, to Peter E. and Lillie (Boese) Heinrichs and raised on the family farm south of Canton with older sister Wanda and younger brother Lowell. She attended the one-room school near their home, then graduated from Goessel HS in 1950. She attended Tabor College, where she met Walter S. Friesen from Meade, KS, and they married on September 5, 1953. They parented three children and lived in many locations in support of Walter’s education and career in education and ministry, retiring in the Newton area. While Carol held numerous secretarial positions and enjoyed volunteering, her passions were music and nature. Carol participated in more than thirty church and community choirs, numerous duets, trios, and quartets. She accompanied many musicians and was a highly expressive pianist. Carol and Walter sang duets at many weddings, including their children’s.A keen observer of her environment, Carol coordinated her efforts to the finest detail, taking a scientific approach to adjustments she made in the garden and kitchen. She nurtured remarkable gardens at each residence. She was curious to explore new places near and far, and especially enjoyed nature outings with the family. Carol was an amateur naturalist and knew the names and relationships of plants, birds and butterflies in their environments. She made an art form of collecting and pressing flowers for making exquisitely arranged pressed flower cards. Carol was deeply spiritual and trusted her Creator. Carol Mae (Heinrichs) Friesen |1932-2021|

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — All of us at Eagle Radio are sad to announce that longtime BW Morning Show host and salesman Doug Morse has died. He was 78.&nbsp;

Doug was hired by the late Fred Conger in 1971 after coming to Hutchinson from McPherson and spent 44 years at BW Radio. He was sales manager and the leader in sales for the Hutchinson market for many years. Doug also hosted the morning show for 40-plus years and Wednesday’s phone forum was always his favorite day of the week.&nbsp;

Doug’s favorite hobby was fishing and, if you ever saw his desk, you would see 15 to 20-plus pictures of fishing trips surrounding his desk. Doug also was very close to his family and most of those fishing trips included the family. He spent many weeks at Table Rock Lake.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Doug worked on the morning show with well known names such as Fred Conger, Sam Jones, Barbara Withrow, George Batchelor, Bob Watson, to current members Sue Achilles, John Brennan, Rob Dreher and Max Bringle.

He handled the sales account list of many local businesses and, according to Sue Achilles — host of the Party Line and morning show — she&nbsp; never met anyone who was more loyal and cared about his clients than Doug.&nbsp;

One of our favorite morning show stories about Doug was when his wife Karon had a garage sale and Doug hated haggling over prices. There was something listed for $1 and this person said, "I’ll give you $.50." Doug looked at him and said, “I'll throw the damn thing away for that,” and threw it in the trash and left. He said Karon didn’t ask him to help with many garage sales after that.

Doug is survived by his wife, Karon, they were married 58 years. He also has three sons Mark, Rob, and PJ, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

All of us at Eagle will miss Doug and his loyalty to his job, his passion for Eagle and his sense of humor.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Galva Christian Church in McPherson.

The viewing is Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home in McPherson.

Roland Devere "R.D" Johnson, 83, of McPherson, passed away at 10:37 a.m., Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 at the farm he was born on, north of Conway with his daughter nearby. R.D. was born in Rural Conway, on June 14, 1938, a son of Evelina Beda (Ledell) and Leebert Bernard Johnson. R.D. attended Elmdale Country School for the 1st Grade until they consolidated with Centerview Country School where he attended until the 8th Grade. He then attended and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson. He served in the U.S. Army as a SP5. Kansas Army National Guard Company A. Throughout the years Roland worked as a farmer and a dirt mover driving his D6C Caterpillar. R.D. appreciated Agriculture and Soil Conservation. R.D. enjoyed collecting antique farm and dirt moving equipment. He is survived by his daughter, Inga Alicia Marie "Boogedy" Johnson, of San Francisco, California and his nephew Greg McCullough, of Homer, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leebert and Evelina Johnson and his sister, Ruth Elaine McCullough. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson. Rowena B. Albright, 96, slipped peacefully from this earthly life to the one especially prepared for her by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Oct. 30, 2021. She was born Feb. 17, 1925, at Elk City, Oklahoma to Ira and Cecil Burwell who preceded her in death. She married Donald E. Albright on Oct. 1, 1943 at Camp Roberts, Monterey, California. He died on Aug. 30, 2016.

She was also a 1968 graduate of Sterling College. She taught in the Kingman Middle School for twenty years.

She served six terms as Reno County Representative to the Silver Haired Legislature and was president of the council for one year. She held local and district offices in the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church and UMW and was a Hutchinson District Lay Speaker. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, KNEA and Better Homes EHU. She served as a volunteer for Hospice, Prairie Sunset Home and was a Kansas Volunteer Ombudsman for three years.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at the Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Livingston Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Lone Star Cemetery.

Alison graduated from Kingman High School and Emporia State University and began her teaching career in the Wichita Public School system.&nbsp; She was passionate about teaching and all her children held a special place in her heart.&nbsp; Alison pursued a master’s degree in special education and held her colleagues in high regard at Anderson Elementary School.&nbsp; The only thing she loved more than teaching was her therapy dog Custer and her nieces and nephews. Her love for all things Kansas State and Kansas State Football was evident daily.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Alison S. McVay  |1978-2021|

Bill Clyde Reddick, 91, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Kiowa Manor. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Clyde and Bernice (Puckett) Reddick. Bill married Gladys (Wilhelm) Reddick on August 23, 1954. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2014.

Bill joined the United States Army at the age of 16 and was stationed in France. Upon returning home from the Army he completed 2 years of Business College. He worked in the oilfield. He is a former Mayor of Seward, Kansas. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with family especially the grandchildren.

He is survived by his stepson, Steve (Lori) Hoffman; children, Susan Stocking of Medicine Lodge, Scott Reddick of North Platte, Nebraska and Sharolyn Reddick of Seward; six grandchildren; many loved great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys A Reddick; parents; and brothers, Bernard Reddick and Jerry Reddick.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at a later date in Seward Cemetery, Seward, Kansas.

Bill Clyde Reddick, 91, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Kiowa Manor. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Clyde and Bernice (Puckett) Reddick. Bill married Gladys (Wilhelm) Reddick on August 23, 1954. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2014.Bill joined the United States Army at the age of 16 and was stationed in France. Upon returning home from the Army he completed 2 years of Business College. He worked in the oilfield. He is a former Mayor of Seward, Kansas. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with family especially the grandchildren.He is survived by his stepson, Steve (Lori) Hoffman; children, Susan Stocking of Medicine Lodge, Scott Reddick of North Platte, Nebraska and Sharolyn Reddick of Seward; six grandchildren; many loved great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys A Reddick; parents; and brothers, Bernard Reddick and Jerry Reddick.Cremation has taken place. Aurelio “Willie” Nunez 96, died Sunday October 31, 2021 at his Newton residence.  He was born October 14, 1925 in Newton, Kansas to Jesus and Ventura “Terrones” Nunez.  On July 6, 1949 he married Jovita “Jo” Hernandez at Newton, Kansas. They shared 64 years together and she preceded him in death on April 2, 2011.

Willie was a lifelong active member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.  Traveling was an enjoyable time for Willie. He especially enjoyed traveling in Mexico. He promised each grandkid to take them on a trip when they turned 10 years old and many fond memories of these trips were made through the years.

With time and patience Willie could repair anything.  He ran Nunez repair in Newton for many years before his retirement. Willie made lifelong friends with many of his customers caring for their routine home maintenance and repairs.

He is survived by his daughters Rita (Ben) Large; Maryann Locken; sons Phillip (Kitty) Nunez and Aurelio “Willie” (Kennan) Nunez Jr.  He is also survived by his sister Frances Gomez and several grandchildren and great grandchildren which he adored.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother Max and two sisters Vita Sanchez and Isabel Alanzo.

Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Monday November 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with The Reverend Jorge Lopez, celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Private family inurnment will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Newton.

Deirdre “Dee” KaRen (Darling) Prouty, 57, passed away October 30, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family.

Dee, or Carrie as she was known to many family members, was born on August 30, 1964, in Fairbury, Nebraska, the daughter of Linda (Kuper) Darling. Dee attended Beatrice High School in Beatrice Nebraska, graduating with the class of 1982. Following high-school she attended college in Fairbury where she took several courses.

On November 10, 1990, Dee was united in marriage to Theodore “Butch” Prouty Jr. in Las Vegas, Nevada. They would have celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary this November.

Dee was beautiful inside and out and had an admirable, out-going personality. She was a friend to all. Throughout life’s hardest moments and trials Dee kept a strong, positive attitude. She never let the diagnosis of cancer get her down. She battled for 10 years and endured so much but she never wavered. It was also very important to her to do her part when it came to new drug trials or cancer treatments. Her contributions will never be forgotten and will help so many people.

For over 30 years Dee called Cargill her work-home, where she was well respected and a dedicated employee. She was loved by her co-workers and friends, who became her family. Dee was employed as a transportation and operations coordinator; though she wore many different hats and worked in various departments.

A family-oriented person, Dee enjoyed spending time with Butch and growing closer to God together, attending everything her daughter Rachel was involved in, she was her number one fan. Dee loved bowling, winning at the casino with her sister, playing with her granddaughters and shopping for them. She also loved to be at any of her niece’s and nephew’s activities. She would frequently travel many hours to be there for family. She loved her people so very much.

Steven K. Williams 63, died October 29, 2021 at Ascension Vis Christi St. Francis in Wichita, He was born  February 5, 1958 in Newton, Kansas to Robert I. and LaVeta D. Williams.

Steve was a graduate of Newton High School and earned an Associates Degree at Dodge City Community College.  He was a farmer and stockman in the Newton area.

He was an active member of the Grace Community Church in Newton. He served on the hospitality team of the church and was instrumental in the organization of the Newton Community Thanksgiving meal.  Steve was a true people person and enjoyed visits and connections with the community.

He is survived by his mother LaVeta Williams of Newton; Brother Neal and his wife Sheila Williams of Newton; Niece Tonya (Tom) Cowan; Nephews Ryan (Jay) Williams and Nathan (Jessica) Williams. There are also 6 great nieces and nephews that survive.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Grace Community Church with Pastors Jack Napier and Kyle Schanbacher presiding. Mary Patricia Kaufman “Pat” 86, passed away on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Ks.  She was born September 16, 1935 in Newton, Kansas to Richard C. and Catherine (Bernard) Morgan. She attended Newton High School followed by semesters at Kansas University and Emporia State University.

Pat traveled the world when she started her career as a flight attendant for TWA in 1957.   She flew with TWA until she was twenty-eight.  On June 6, 1964 she married her high school sweetheart, Clayton D. Kaufman. Clayton and Pat were active in the Newton Community through their involvement in Junior Reading Circle, the Elks Club, the Newton Country Club, and St Mary’s Catholic Church.

Pat was an active mother of two children, Kimberly and Rex.  Pat enjoyed spending quality time with family traveling, camping, skiing and throwing awesome pool parties. She also took pride in moving out to the farm they purchased in 1978. Clayton was diagnosed with ALS in 1983 and they both helped start the ALS support group in the Wichita/Central Kansas area. Clayton passed away in 1986 and Pat moved to Wichita in 1993. She was active with several lady groups playing cards, enjoyed entertaining friends and loved spending quality time with family.

Pat is survived by one son Rex (Mary) Kaufman of Newton, KS; one daughter Kimberly (Richard) Ortega of Louisville, CO; one sister Gwen (John) Suderman of Newton, KS; one sister in law Maggie Morgan of Newton, Kansas.  She is also survived by three grandchildren Clayton J. Kaufman, Lucas D. Kaufman and Quinten R. Ortega.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Richard “Dick” Morgan and one sister Gail Morgan.

Inurnment will be at 2:00 in the Greenwood Cemetery Memorial on November 5th. Followed by a 3:00 memorial service at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton with The Reverend Donna Voteau presiding.  Followed by a gathering (celebration of life) for friends and family at Sand Creek Event Center.

Jereline Tackett 81, died October 26, 2021 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. 

She was born August 8, 1946 in Tirmonton, Utah to Maynard and Laverne (Childs) Summers. On November 28, 1963 she married Darryl Tackett At Elko, Nevada and he survives of the home.  She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Darryl and Jereline were sealed in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. She enjoyed spending time crocheting and loved to travel. She and her husband traveled most all of the Western United States in their camper and especially enjoyed Yellowstone National Park and seeing the Giant Redwoods in California.  They belong to a camping club that regularly met at Marion Reservoir.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 2nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Newton Ward with Bishop Brian Kynaston Conducting.

Burial will be in the Mound Township Cemetery in Rural Moundridge, Kansas.

Lois (Hauge) Goering; beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on October 24, 2021 at the age of 68.

Lois Goering is survived by her husband; Curby Goering of North Newton, KS; her children; Carmen (Jason) Weller of Walton, KS and their five children; Chastity (William) Barnett of West Columbia, TX and their five children; and Christopher (Ashley) Goering of Branson, MO and their three children; her siblings; Barbara Hinrichs and Sharon Gunafson; and several nieces and nephews. Lois is preceded in death by her parents; Inga and Helbert Hauge; her sister, Doreen Porter; and her brother, Loren Hauge.

Lois was born on August 21, 1953 on her mother’s birthday in Mahnomen, MN, as the youngest of 5 children. Her family resided on a farm near Winger, MN before moving to town when Lois was a teenager. She graduated high school in 1971 and attended Bible School in Fergus Falls, MN. She took an adventure to Alaska where she married her husband, Curby Goering, in 1978. After the birth of their first child, Carmen, in 1980, the young family moved to Minnesota to be closer to Lois’s family. While living in Fergus Falls, Lois and Curby welcomed Chastity in 1981 and Christopher in 1983. Lois and her family realized their dreams in 1990 with the purchase of a small hobby farm near Becker, MN. In 1997, the Goering family moved to Moundridge, KS to be closer to Curby’s family. Over the next several years, Curby and Lois became beloved in-laws and grandparents. They have 13 grandchildren.

Lois was an active part in her church, Bible studies, community groups, and political organizations, but the joy of her life was being a Grammy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and took every opportunity to support them and her children. Faith and family meant the world to Lois.

Lois will be remembered for her hospitality, genuine spirit, compassion, joyful laugh, passion for animals, love for her family and friends, and strong faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a sweet legacy that will live on in all who knew her.

A public viewing will be on Monday, November 8 at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, KS from 5-9 p.m. There will be a graveside service at Eastlawn Cemetery near Newton on Tuesday, November 9 at 8:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life service following at 10:00 a.m. at Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston, KS.

Barbara L. Eberle, 87, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a 3rd grade teacher at Halstead and Americus, a cashier at Kansas Power &amp; Light, and retired in 1996 from the District Court where she was a bailiff. Barbara was born on September 18, 1934, in McPherson, KS, the youngest of six children born to Ellis S. and Gertrude May (Post) Gayer. She attended the McPherson schools and graduated from McPherson High School in 1952. She received her Associate Degree from Emporia State Teachers College. On April 24, 1955, Barbara was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” A. Eberle in McPherson, KS. This union was blessed with three children, Susan Rene, Gena Sue, and Brad Scott. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She spent many years of volunteer work through First United Methodist Church, Churches United in Ministry, McPherson Hospital and other outreach programs. In 1980, Barbara was a survivor of cancer but was sorry many of her family members were not. Lois Fay (Andrew) Tinkler-Larson, 97, of Lindsborg, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Bethany Home.  She was born August 20, 1924 in Gypsum, KS to the late Asa and Grace (Swisher) Andrew.  

Lois graduated from Gypsum High School in the class of 1942.  She married Merlin Tinkler.  After his passing in 1969, Lois would go on to marry Paul Larson, who passed away in 1995.  

Lois was a cook at various places around the Lindsborg area.  She was also a telephone operator, a farmer’s wife, and an Avon representative.  Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindsborg, where she was a Deacon and active in numerous committees and boards.  

Survivors include her  daughters: Bonnie Lindsay (Gary) of Protection, KS,  and Lois Bishop of Rockwall, TX; son: Rick Larson (Judy) of Wichita, KS;  son-in-law: Ralph Nelson of Salina, KS; as well as 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and many extended family members.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter: Linda Nelson; brother: Lloyd Andrew; and son-in-law: Bob Bishop.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 3 from 5-7PM at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.

Lenora Anne (Linscheid) Althaus, 79, of Hutchinson, died October 28, 2021, at her home. She was born September 23, 1942, in Burlington, to Harold and Marjorie (Pultz) Linscheid.

Lenora attended McPherson High School. She worked for 36 years at Underground Vaults and Storage and held numerous titles, including records supervisor. Lenora belonged to Moose Lodge #982 and often spent her Friday evenings there. Her dog, Sassy, was very special to her and they shared a close bond. Lenora was baptized in the McPherson Church of Christ.

On March 11, 1993, she married Dale Althaus, in Hutchinson. He passed away on October 20, 2013.

Grace Marie Dahlke (Frankenstein), 94, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Bixby, Oklahoma, in the presence of several family members. Following her passing, her family celebrated her with two hours of singing gospel songs and hymns, praying with her, talking to her, loving her, and wishing her a beautiful reunion in Heaven with her husband, son, family and friends. We are comforted by her love of the Lord and lifelong service to Him.&nbsp; We can only imagine the joy she is experiencing now!

Grace lived in Hutchinson, Kansas, beginning in 1982, and only recently moved to Tulsa to live with her daughter, Lisa.

Grace was born on March 2, 1927 to Rev. Carl and Clara Frankenstein in the parsonage of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, New York, where her father was the minister. She graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1944, and attended one year of college at Rockport State College.

In 1948, she married Rev. Victor W. Dahlke at St. Matthews with her father officiating. Victor and Grace were married 50 years. Their first church together was Holy Ghost Lutheran in Bergholtz, New York, where they spent 9 ½ years. Five of their children, David, Deborah, Jonathan, Lisa (Dorcas), and James were born there.

The Dahlke family moved to Watertown, Wisconsin, in 1958, where Rev. Dahlke was called to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Their daughter, Joanna, was born there. While there, they placed their older son, David, who was born with severe developmental disabilities, at Bethesa Lutheran Home for the Disabled.&nbsp; After the family moved from Watertown, Grace traveled to Watertown to visit David three to four times a year.

The Dahlke family moved to Ellinwood, Kansas, in 1962, where Rev. Dahlke was called to St. John’s Lutheran Church. &nbsp;Their seventh and last child, Dinah (Raine) was born there. They lived in Ellinwood until Rev. Dahlke’s retirement in 1982.&nbsp; All of their children graduated from Ellinwood High School.

In 1982, Victor and Grace moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, where Rev. Dahlke continued to serve as Pastor Emeritus at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (ORL).&nbsp; Victor’s ministries were Grace’s ministries too.&nbsp; It was a lifelong partnership of service and ministry.

Grace lead a life of service to the Lord and the community.&nbsp; She taught Sunday School and music to the children until she was 90 years old.&nbsp; She lead the Children’s Choir in both Ellinwood and Hutchinson.&nbsp; She volunteered at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Youth Club as a Table Parent until she was 90. She loved the children at her church, and was especially thrilled when they would come up to her as adults and tell her of their memories of her. Grace was named Volunteer Teacher of the Year for the Kansas District (Missouri Synod Lutheran Church) in 1997.

Victor and Grace started a ministry at ORL called College and Career, for young adults, that lasted 15 years. Grace chaired the Older Adults Committee at ORL from 1998-2018. Each year this committee planned a service to commemorate the older members called “Bless the Years Sunday”. Grace was especially proud of her Adult Committee and the ministry they provided.

Grace also organized ORL members to form a choir that sang once a month for many years at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.&nbsp; She took great care in choosing the songs and making sure the choir had copies of all the songs. Grace lead Bible Study at Good Samaritan once a week.&nbsp; In 2004, she was named Volunteer of the Year. Grace continued to visit ORL shut ins for 20 years after Victor passed.&nbsp; She was always amazed at how happy they were to see her.

Grace was a Charter Member of the “Saints Alive After 55” Kansas District Committee, traveling to Topeka for 30 years for meetings.

In the community, Grace was a CASA Volunteer for many years, and she was awarded CASA Volunteer of the Year in 1995. She was also a Reading Tutor at Yoder Elementary.

In Ellinwood, her hobbies included china painting, wood carving, and she was in a bowling league! Her children remember her spending all day Saturday baking for Sunday. She always had homemade coffee cake, kuchen, pastries, and even donuts. She was the best cook!

In later years, her hobbies included scrabble, Sudoku, gardening and yard work. She spent hours on her patio enjoying the outdoors.&nbsp; She mowed her own yard until she was 90, despite the protests of her children. Grace was a great supporter of the arts and faithfully attended the Dillon Lecture Series and Hutchinson’s Community Theater programs.

Grace is survived by six children: Deborah Matan, Columbus, Ohio; Jonathan (Cheryl) Dahlke, Holyrood, Kansas; Lisa Winters, Bixby, Oklahoma; James Dahlke, Joplin, Missouri; Joanna Penn (Ty Petty), Topeka, Kansas; and Raine Dyani, Issaquah, Washington; ten grandchildren, Alyson (Mike) Houlden, Kristin (Kenny) Moore, Marcie (Elliott) Bilbry, Amanda (Levi) Ellis, Natalie (Scott) Penn-Mayton, Jake (Hannah) Dahlke, Olivia Penn, Sydney Dahlke, Jordan (Caitlin) Dahlke, Tanner Dahlke; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Dahlke; father, Carl Frankenstein; mother, Clara Brusehaber Frankenstein; sisters, Ruth, Anita, Doris; brother, Carl; and her son, David.

Roy Lavern Tracy Jr., 55, of Hutchinson, died October 30, 2021, at his home. He was born March 9, 1966, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Roy and Billie (Seward) Tracy.

Roy is survived by his siblings: sister, Thelma Minium (Kenny), Hutch; brother, Jessee Tracy (Lucy), Hutchinson; sister, Roberta Osenbaugh (Melvin) Turon; and brother, Ed Howes (Linda), Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Roy Tracy and Billie Howes; brothers, Bill Howes and Larry Howes; and son, Wyatt Tracy.

Lori’s life began on February 13, 1971, at Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix, AZ. She was the daughter or Les (Brenda) Lalouette and Marilyn (Bezdek) Lalouette. Lori was a 1989 graduate of Marion High School and the class Salutatorian. She continued her education at Fort Hays State University before transferring to Wichita State where she graduated with a triple major and near the top of her class. Lori later went onto Washburn University where she earned a Juris Doctorate in Law. She worked as a computer systems engineer for several years prior to law school and after graduating in the top 10% of her class, opened her law practice in Hillsboro.

Lori served as a Marion County Commissioner and village attorney for Lincolnville. In high school, she participated in debate club and participated in FFA. Lori was an avid reader and researcher. If she did not know how to do something she researched the problem until she solved it. She never gave up. She also learned to be an amateur electrician, plumber, and carpenter. Lori and her spouse, Randy Crawford found each other in 2004 and never looked back. Lori is survived by her spouse Randy Crawford of Hillsboro; parents Les (Brenda) Lalouette of Florence, and Marilyn Lalouette of Newton. Lori passed away on October 29, 2021, at Newton Medical Center at 50 years old. She is preceded in death by her sister Lynette Roberts and beloved cat Mindy. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 4 at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Point Cemetery. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family.
