Joe Edward Roseberry, 68, of Hutchinson, passed from this life on December 23, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 1, 1953, to Frank Barnes Roseberry and Joyce Ann (Redinger) Roseberry, in Dodge City.
Joe attended Hutchinson Public Schools, and later in life, took some courses at HCC. He had a 40-year career with Buhler USD 313, where he started as a custodian and ended his time there as the Building Maintenance Director.
Joe made it his mission to know every square inch of the buildings, and to do whatever it took to make sure the teachers and kids were happy. After retirement he was restless, so he went back to work part-time at the Plaza Go Truck Stop, doing maintenance work. In his spare time, he created coloring books from his own original drawings.
Joe had a great love for his family. He would tell the grandkids jokes and stories with life lessons sprinkled in here and there. You were not quite sure what you were going to get when he started telling a story, but that was Joe.
On June 12, 1981, he married Patricia McAllister, in Hutchinson. They shared 40 years of marriage until his passing.
Joe is survived by: wife, Patricia Roseberry; sons, Mark (Karin) Roseberry; grandson, Brenton, of Independence, KY; Jason (Reyna) McAllister; grandchildren, Jade, Raven, Tiera, and Gabe of Hutchinson; Shane (Sammie) McAllister; grandchildren, McKinnley, Ashton, Brooklynn, Michael, Noah, and Amaya of Hutchinson; self-adopted daughter, Jennifer Perez; and Jennifer’s daughters, Justyce and Ellyanah of Andover; mother, Joyce Ann McMannis of Hutchinson; brothers, Steve Roseberry, Alan Durham, both of Hutchinson, and Mark Durham of Kansas City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his Italian Greyhound, Bella.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Frank Roseberry; brother, Murray Roseberry; and his beloved Italian Greyhounds, Jagger, Ozzy, Ace, Dimitri, Tina, and Bear.
