Gladys Elizabeth Wiens, 92, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Moundridge Manor. She was born May 28, 1929 in McPherson County, Kansas, the daughter of Frank W. and Mary Magdeline (Becker) Holdeman.
Gladys was a member of Meridian Mennonite Church in Hesston.
She was united in marriage to Henry Wiens on September 21, 1962 at Meridian Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2009.
Gladys worked as an LPN at Mercy Hospital and Moundridge Manor for many years. She also cooked at the Moundridge Senior Center.
Survivors include her sons, Dale (Sara) Wiens of Atwood, Illinois, David (Marlene) Wiens of Hesston, and Warren (Kathleen) Wiens of Newton; daughter, Cynthia (John) Holdeman of Louisville, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren plus one on the way; sister, Elaine Holdeman of Hesston; and brother, Ordo Holdeman of Versailles, Missouri.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Deloris Holdeman and Annabel Penner; sister-in-law, Janice Holdeman; and brothers-in-law, Larry Strother and John Penner.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Meridian Mennonite Church, Hesston. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
