On the ensuing onside kick attempt, Juanyeh Thomas returned it 43 yards for a touchdown as the Cowboys ended their losing streak at five in improbable fashion. Saquon Barkley sets Eagles franchise record with 255 yards rushing, 2 TDs in a 37-20 win over Rams

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Saquon Barkley ran for touchdowns of 70 and 72 yards in the second half and finished with an Eagles-record 255 yards rushing in the streaking Philadelphia Eagles' seventh consecutive victory, 37-20 over the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley finished with the ninth-most yards rushing in a game in NFL history, largely thanks to his huge TD runs early and late in the second half. He rushed for a 70-yard score on the opening snap of the third quarter, and he added a 72-yard surge up the middle with 2:44 to play. Barkley finished with 302 total yards. He leads the NFL with 1,392 yards rushing.

Sam Darnold leads game-winning drive in OT and Vikings beat Bears 30-27 after blowing late lead

CHICAGO (AP) — Sam Darnold threw for 90 of his 330 yards in overtime to set up Parker Romo's game-ending 29-yard field goal, and the Minnesota Vikings outlasted the Chicago Bears 30-27 after giving up 11 points in the final 22 seconds of regulation. Darnold threw two touchdown passes, Jordan Addison caught eight passes for a career-high 162 yards and a touchdown, and T.J. Hockenson had 114 yards receiving for the Vikings, who remained one game behind Detroit in the rugged NFC North. Caleb Williams threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns for the Bears, who lost their fifth straight.

A wild weekend in Los Angeles set up for a new No. 1 in The Associated Press women's basketball poll when it's released Monday. The question is who will it be? Defending champion South Carolina has been No. 1 for 23 straight weeks after going undefeated last season and winning its first few games of the new season before losing 77-62 at No. 5 UCLA. Sixth-ranked Notre Dame took it to No. 3 USC winning 74-61 a day earlier. Besides the Bruins and Irish, No. 2 UConn can make a case to move up to the top spot. If they do move up to No. 1, it would be the 251st time that Geno Auriemma's team has held that spot. The last came in the final poll of 2021.

Alabama and Mississippi tumbled out of the top 10 of The Associated Press college football poll and Miami and SMU moved in following a chaotic weekend in the SEC. Oregon is No. 1 for the sixth straight week and Ohio State, Texas and Penn State held their places behind the Ducks. The shuffling begins at No. 5, where Notre Dame returned for the first time since Week 2 after beating Army for its ninth straight win. No. 6 Georgia moved up two spots, No. 7 Tennessee and No. 8 Miami rose three and No. 9 SMU jumped four places. Indiana dropped from No. 5 to No. 10 following its first loss.

Thitikul finishes eagle-birdie to win CME Group Tour Championship and claim record $4M prize

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Down by two shots with two holes to play, Jeeno Thitikul knew exactly what was needed to capture the biggest prize in women's golf history. And a eagle-birdie finish for the second straight day made it happen. Thitikul claimed the record-setting $4 million first-place check by winning the CME Group Tour Championship on Sunday. It was the biggest money prize in women's golf history. Thitikul shot a 7-under 65 on Sunday and finished the week at 22 under, one shot ahead of Angel Yin (66). Yin had a two-shot lead walking to the 17th tee, only to wind up settling for the $1 million runner-up check.

Injured Joel Embiid, Paul George watch from the 76ers' bench once again

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — All-Stars Paul George and Joel Embiid both missed Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers with knee injuries. Six-time All-Star guard Kyle Lowry also sat out with a bad hip. It's turning into a lost season for the struggling Sixers. The Sixers can only wonder how good they might have been if former stars Ben Simmons and James Harden stayed healthy and happy when they were with the franchise. Both players returned to Philadelphia over the weekend and served as a reminder of how little has changed for the 76ers over the last decade.

From Maui to the Caribbean, college hoops' Thanksgiving tournaments a beloved part of the sport

College basketball is ready for its Thanksgiving Week closeup. The schedule is full of early season tournaments that could create buzzworthy marquee matchups. And many of those come in warm-weather locations. The Maui Invitational in Hawaii turns 40 years old this year. It opens Monday with a field that includes two-time reigning national champion and second ranked UConn. The Battle 4 Atlantis men's tournament in the Bahamas opens Wednesday. It has a field topped by No. 3 Gonzaga. There are also multiple women's events in the Bahamas featuring ranked teams, including the fourth Atlantis women's tournament.

Jannik Sinner leads Italy past the Netherlands for its second consecutive Davis Cup title

MALAGA, Spain (AP) — Jannik Sinner clinched Italy's second consecutive Davis Cup title and capped his breakthrough season at the top of tennis by beating Tallon Griekspoor 7-6 (2), 6-2 for a 2-0 win over the Netherlands in the final of the team competition in Malaga, Spain. Matteo Berrettini won Sunday's opening singles match 6-4, 6-2 against Botic van de Zandschulp. The Italians are the first country to win the Davis Cup twice in a row since the Czech Republic in 2012 and 2013. The No. 1-ranked Sinner stretched his unbeaten streak in singles to 14 matches and 26 sets. Netherlands reached the Davis Cup final for the first time.

Verstappen still manages to win 4th straight F1 title in one of worst seasons of his Red Bull career

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Max Verstappen won an unbelievable 19 races last season that included an incredible streak of 10 in a row in what would arguably go down as one of the greatest years in Formula 1 history. And yet it is this year's eight-win season — his lowest victory total since 2020 — that Verstappen considers a career-defining campaign. Those eight wins were enough to win him a fourth consecutive F1 championship on Saturday night with his easy drive at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The championship made Verstappen only the sixth driver in F1 history to win four or more titles.

Hutchinson CC Sports Information
A total of 29 Hutchinson Community College football players earned spots in the 2024 All-KJCCC Football teams which were released Sunday.
The Blue Dragons earned two of the three major awards as sophomore running back <a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/jordan_jr._waymond_h58l" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Waymond Jordan Jr.</a>, was named the 2024 KJCCC Offensive Player of the Year and Hutchinson head coach Drew Dallas was named the league&apos;s Coach of the Year.
A total of six Hutchinson offensive players, five defensive player and a special teams player were named to the 2024 all-KJCCC first team. Nine other players were named to the second team and eight more were named to the honorable mention list.
The Blue Dragons tied for a Jayhawk Conference championship this season, posting a 9-1 overall record and a 5-1 mark in KJCCC games. The No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons will find out on Monday about the NJCAA National Playoffs.
WAYMOND JORDAN JR. &ndash; OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR The sophomore from Pensacola, Florida, became the 20th Blue Dragon running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Jordan led the nation in rushing this season with 1,331 yards and is tied for second with 18 rushing touchdowns. Jordan averaged 7.6 yards per carry this season.
He had eight games of 100 or more rushing yards. His season high was 213 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns in a 44-0 victory over Highland on November 9.
Jordan is currently seventh on the Blue Dragon single-season rushing list. His 18 rushing touchdowns are tied with Alvin Kamara (2014) for second on that single-season list. His 7.6 yards per carry ranks second in team single-season history.
Jordan is the fourth-straight Blue Dragon player to earn KJCCC Offensive Player of the Year honors. He joins running back Anwar Lewis in 2021, running back Dylan Kedzior in 2022 and quarterback <a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/collier_samari_f7ro" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Samari Collier</a> in 2023. Indirectly, Jordan also joins current teammate <a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/prosper_benson_2z8u" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Benson Prosper</a>, who shared Offensive Player of the Year honors with Collier in 2023 when Prosper played at Highland last season.
Jordan was a five-time KJCCC Player of the Week and he was an NJCAA National Player of the Week once in 2024.
DREW DALLAS &ndash; COACH OF THE YEAR This is the fourth time in his tenure at Hutchinson that Dallas has been named the KJCCC Coach of the Year.
The Blue Dragons won at least nine games for a fourth-straight season under Dallas. The only time Hutchinson didn&apos;t win at least nine games was the covid-shortened season in 2020-21 when the Blue Dragons won the national championship going 8-0.
The 2024 Blue Dragons won their fourth conference title under Dallas. The Dragons also won the 2021 KJCCC Playoffs under Dallas, who is 47-5 on the Hutchinson sideline.
Offensively in 2024, the Blue Dragons averaged 45.0 points per game, which was first in the Jayhawk This season. The Dragons led the league in total offense at 473.2 yards per game and were second in the KJCCC in rushing at 265.0 yards per game.
Defensively, the Dragons led the KJCCC in scoring defense at 14.5 points per game with three shutouts. Hutchinson was No. 1 in total defense at 257.9 yards per game and rushing defense at 102.8 yards per game.
FIRST TEAM OFFENSE <a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/collier_samari_f7ro" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Samari Collier</a> &ndash; QB: Collier is a two-time first-team all-KJCCC selection. This season I nine games, the sophomore from DeSoto Texas completed 82 of 152 passes (53.9 percent) for 1,163 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. Collier was the second-leading rusher this season with 441 yards on 72 carries and seven touchdowns.
<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/hoover_tate_7wfn" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Tate Hoover</a> &ndash; FB: A tremendous blocker at the fullback spot, the redshirt freshman from Manhattan didn&apos;t have a rush this season, but caught three balls for 102 yards and a touchdown.
<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/brown_tre_1kab" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Tre Brown</a> &ndash; WR: A redshirt freshman from Savannah, Georgia, led the Blue Dragons and the Jayhawk Conference with nine touchdown receptions. Brown had 27 receptions for 500 yards and averaged 18.5 yards per carry.

FIRST TEAM DEFENSE <a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/lowe_devan_0k31" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Devan Lowe</a> &ndash; DT: Lowe, a sophomore from Olathe, had 29 total tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss. He had three quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Oxley had 34 total tackles with six quarterback hurries, one pass broken up, one fumble forced and one fumble recovered.

FIRST TEAM SPECIAL TEAMS <a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/fball/2024-25/bios/barr_davis_n0ok" style="color: rgb(204, 45, 55);font-size: 14px;">Davis Barr</a> &ndash; P: A freshman punter from DeSoto, Kansas, had only 24 punt attempt this season, but averaged 43.5 yards per punt, including a season&apos;s-long 74 yards punt. He had eight punts of 50 or more yards and had seven others downed inside the 20-yard line.

McKinney had 22 tackles in 10 games with a sack and 2.5 tackles for loss.
Spencer was third in tackles with 45. He also had an interception, eight passes defended and seven tackles for loss. Walker, who was the Week 12 KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week, finished this season with 47 tackles and eight tackles for loss.

🏈 Chiefs top Panthers on Shrader's field goal as time expired

The NJCAA has announced it will hold the NJCAA Division I football selection show on Monday at 11:30 a.m. to unveil the top four teams that will play in the national semifinals.

The show will be streamed on the NJCAA YouTube page by clicking <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@njcaa3124/featured">here</a>.

The top four teams in the poll revealed will qualify for the national semifinals. The No. 1 team will host No. 4 and No. 2 will host No. 3.&nbsp;

Hutchinson was No. 2 in the most recent poll released last Monday. None of the teams in the top four of that poll played this weekend, so more than likely there will not be any changes come Monday.

If the top four stay the same, No. 1 Iowa Western would host No. 4 Northwest Mississippi and No. 2 Hutchinson would host No. 3 Georgia Military. Again, none of this is official until Monday at 11:30 a.m.&nbsp;

The national semifinals are scheduled to be played Friday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 8 with times to be announced on Monday.

WICHITA, Kan. — For the first time in seven years, the Wichita State volleyball team will compete in the NCAA Tournament. The Shockers beat Florida Atlantic in the American Athletic Conference championship inside of Charles Koch Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Shockers swept the Owls, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19 to claim the title.

Nickerson High School alum, Morgan Stout was named the AAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The redshirt senior finished with 12 kills in the championship match, and 35 for the tournament. She also finished with eight blocks in the three matches.

The Shockers are now 18-13 overall and await their seed for the NCAA Tournament, which begins Thursday, Dec. 5. The selection show is Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. CST.

🏐 Shockers win AAC championship, Nickerson alum named MOP

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — DJ Giddens rushed for 143 yards, on just 15 carries, with two touchdowns, as Kansas State defeated Cincinnati 41-15 Saturday night.

Kansas State (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) snapped a two-game losing streak with the victory.

“It was an inspired win by our guys,” Kansas State coach Chris Klieman said. “I'm proud of the whole team, proud of our seniors for responding to the adversity that we’ve had.

"We knew we needed to start fast, and we did start fast. Our defense really made them one-dimensional early on, and then we did some really good things.”

Cincinnati (5-6, 3-5 Big 12) lost its fourth straight game. The Bearcats need a home win against TCU next Saturday to achieve bowl eligibility.

Avery Johnson was 13-of-23 passing for 147 yards and two touchdowns for KSU. With running back Dylan Edwards out with an undisclosed injury, Johnson also ran the ball 10 times for 81 yards and a score.

“(The coaches) definitely said it was going to be a heavier QB-run game this week,” Johnson said about the extra workload. “And you know, that’s one of the strongest suits of my game. I was just running behind my pads, kind of fitting up in some gaps when I needed to and just trying my best to follow those guys' blocks.”

Klieman was especially proud of his defense in the clutch.

“Cincinnati was 3 of 12 third down, 0 of 5 on fourth down," he said. "That was a big-time effort on fourth down especially, because there’s a handful of those that were in critical situations and those weren’t fourth-and-10 or fourth-and-12. Those were fourth-and-short to fourth-and-medium.”

Brendan Sorsby was 21 of 39 for 200 yards and two touchdowns for the Bearcats.

Trailing by 24 points, Cincinnati found the end zone on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Sorsby to Tony Johnson late in the third quarter. The 2-point conversion failed. Giddens had his second rushing touchdown on K-State's next drive.

Johnson's 8-yard touchdown pass to Will Swanson put K-State up 41-9. Sorsby then found Johnson for a 6-yard touchdown.

“We were contemplating between two plays, and (offensive coordinator Conor Riley) asked me what I wanted,” Johnson said. “And I (chose) the play we ended up calling. Riles kind of looked at me a little bit funny, and then we called it. We had two guys wide open because they didn’t know how to cover it. It was just all smiles on the sideline.”

Kansas State wasted little time grabbing a 7-0 lead on its opening drive on a 21-yard touchdown run by Johnson. That capped a five-play, 65-yard drive.

The Wildcats extended the lead to 10-0 on a 28-yard Chris Tennant field goal, and then to 13-0 on his 32-yarder.

After K-State held Cincinnati on fourth-and-8 at the KSU 33, Giddens pushed the Wildcats' lead to 20-0 when he used a spin move at the line of scrimmage and then raced 32 yards for a touchdown, capping a four-play drive.

Cincinnati got on the scoreboard with 4:17 left in the first half with a 42-yard field goal by Nathan Hawks.

Brendan Mott then intercepted a Sorsby pass at the Cincinnati 22-yard line and returned it to the 6. It was Mott's first career interception in his last home game.

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it off and get the 6 points,” Mott said. “When I got to the sideline, I don't know if I got more ‘Congratulations’ or, ‘Man, you should have housed that thing.’”

Two plays later, Johnson found Tre Spivey for a 6-yard touchdown and the Wildcats led 27-3 at halftime.

The Dragons built at 13-point lead just nine minutes into the contest before heading to the break ahead 39-31.

Quez Thornton (10), Bo Aldridge (8) and Bobby Cannon (7) scored 25 of Hutchinson's first-half points.

The Dragons held the Fort Hays Tech Northwest Tigers (formerly the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Tech) to just 2-of-8 shooting from three in the opening 20 minutes.

The Tigers (1-4, 0-2) caught fire from three in the second half and the Dragons went cold.

Tech hit 6-of-11 triples in the second half and held Hutchinson to 3-of-11.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Devin Neal ran for 207 yards and three touchdowns, caught four passes for 80 yards and another score, and led Kansas to a 37-21 victory over No. 16 Colorado on Saturday that dealt a big blow to the Buffaloes' hopes of playing for the Big 12 title.

Jalon Daniels threw for 189 yards and a touchdown, and the Jayhawks (5-6, 4-4) scored on every offensive series but their last, keeping Colorado stars Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy candidate Travis Hunter standing on the sideline.

Sanders finished with 266 yards passing and three touchdowns, setting the Colorado single-season record with 30 TD passes, while Hunter finished with eight catches for 125 yards and two scores. But the two-way standout did little on defense — nor did anyone else wearing all-white uniforms — as the Jayhawks beat a ranked team for a school-record third straight week.

Now, the Buffaloes (8-3, 6-2 Big 12, No. 16 CFP) need to beat Oklahoma State and get some help to play for a championship in their return to the Big 12, and earn the league's guaranteed spot in the College Football Playoff.

NEW YORK (AP) — Outfielder Austin Hays, right-hander Kyle Finnegan and second baseman Brendan Rodgers were among 62 players who became free agents when their teams failed to offer 2025 contracts. Conor McGregor must pay $250K to woman who says he raped her, civil jury rules

LONDON (AP) — A civil jury in Ireland has awarded more than $250,000 to a woman who says she was raped by mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor in a Dublin hotel penthouse after a night of heavy partying. The jury on Friday awarded Nikita Hand in her lawsuit that claimed McGregor "brutally raped and battered" her in 2018. The lawsuit says the assault left her heavily bruised and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. McGregor testified that he never forced her to do anything and that Hand fabricated her allegations after the two had consensual sex. McGregor says he will appeal the verdict.

Brock Purdy will miss Sunday's game for the 49ers with a shoulder injury

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will miss Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers with a sore throwing shoulder. Purdy injured his right shoulder in last Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) announced Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. as the overall winner of the 2024 Heart and Hustle Award.

The award celebrates active players who demonstrate&nbsp;passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and tradition of the game. The award is voted on by former players.

The MLBPAA formed 30 committees comprised of Alumni players with established relationships to each team. Fans and all MLB Alumni voted to select the final winner from 30 team winners. The award is voted on by former players.The MLBPAA formed 30 committees comprised of Alumni players with established relationships to each team. Fans and all MLB Alumni voted to select the final winner from 30 team winners. Witt Jr. joins a distinguished list of past winners who have demonstrated unparalleled passion and effort in their careers.The previous overall winners are David Eckstein (2005), Craig Biggio (2006, 2007), Grady Sizemore (2008), Albert Pujols (2009), Roy Halladay (2010), Torii Hunter (2011), Mike Trout (2012), Dustin Pedroia (2013), Josh Harrison (2014), Anthony Rizzo (2015), Todd Frazier (2016), Brett Gardner (2017), Mookie Betts (2018), Howie Kendrick (2019), Ozzie Albies (2021), Paul Goldschmidt (2022) and Marcus Semien (2023).
