TOPEKA, Kan. — The Kansas State High School Activities Association released classifications Thursday for the 2025-26 school year, along with football classes for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Only a handful of area schools will be impacted by the new classifications, all for the football cycle only.

Lyons will move up from Class 2A to Class 3A for the next football cycle in 2026 and 2027.

Little River will drop down from 8-Player Division I to 8-Player Division II, while Pratt Skyline also moves from 8-Player DI to 8-Player DII.

The changes take effect in the fall of 2025 for all sports and activities except football, which is scheduled in two-year cycles.
