\Della Mae (Meek) Ellwood, 88, of Windom, KS, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home.&nbsp; Della was born July 13, 1935, at home in McPherson County, KS, the daughter of Jesse and Rose Meek of Windom, KS.&nbsp; Della was united in marriage to Galland E. Ellwood on September 1, 1953.&nbsp; This union was blessed with four children.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include three children: Randall (Randy) Ellwood (Nancy), Rhonda Fortenberry, Krystal (Krysti) Bergkamp (Jason), all of Windom, KS; nine grandchildren: Derek Ellwood (Megan), Leslie Block (Tristan), Jenna Adams (Steve), Callie Newman (Justin), Justin Prindle (Krista), Josh Prindle (Michelle), Jamie Newton (Zach), Jaylie Bergkamp, Kyler Bergkamp;&nbsp; ten great-grandchildren:&nbsp; Kate, Addyson, Jordyn, Isla, Andrew, Kamdyn, James, Acelee, Brecklyn, and Rory; numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces whom she loved.&nbsp;

She was a longtime member of the Windom community and the Windom church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Galland E. Ellwood, son, Michael (Mike) Ellwood (1954-1966),&nbsp; her parents, Jesse and Rose Meek,&nbsp; her sons-in-law, Nick Prindle and David Fortenberry, her great-grandson, Calum Block, and all her siblings and their spouses,&nbsp; Lawrence, Gene, Inez, and Carl.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.&nbsp; A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Monday, May 6, at the Windom Cemetery.&nbsp; A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, Monday, at the McPherson church of Christ with Minister Kenny Graham officiating.&nbsp;

Daniel Luis Raya, 61, of Hutchinson, died April 23, 2024, in Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born July 8, 1962, in Hutchinson, to Tiburcio Juarez “Paul” Raya and Margaret (Martinez) Sterns.

Daniel graduated from Hutchinson High School, and worked for various companies such as Collins and Jackson Ice Cream. &nbsp;He was an extremely hard worker, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking (especially barbeque). &nbsp;Daniel also enjoyed raising pigeons and working with his hands as a carpenter. &nbsp;Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.&nbsp;

On February 14, 1985, he married the love of his life, Renee D Raya. &nbsp;Even after the marriage ended, they remained friends.

Daniel is survived by: &nbsp;daughters, Brooke Curtin (Steve) of Hutchinson and Chelsea Raya of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Payton Huffman, Claire Curtin, Zander Curtin, Lexington Plummer, all of Hutchinson; siblings, Paul Raya (Joyce), Susan Mora (Lawrence), both of Hutchinson, Joanne Lemmon (John) of Fort Worth, TX; and Mark Raya of Wichita; Brooke and Chelsea’s mom, Renee Raya; three aunts, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son. &nbsp;

Marjorie Alene Davis |1949-2024|

Shirley Joann Evens Hodge was born April 30, 1935 to Ernest Jasper ("E.J.") and Mable Evens in Amsterdam, Missouri. She was born at home and weighed 3 ½ pounds. The doctor thought she wouldn't live through the night, so they wrapped her in blankets and put her in a shoebox. She obviously made it! Jo was named Shirley by the doctor, who named three other girls Shirley that year in honor of Shirley Temple.

Jo was an excellent student and musician; she sang and played piano and began teaching piano lessons while attending the newly built Miami Rural High School. At Baker University, she earned a bachelor's degree in Music Education. There she met her future husband, Edwin Eugene Hodge, while waiting in line at the registrar's office. Ed had been accidentally enrolled in a girls' gym class. Jo and Ed graduated from Baker University in May of 1957 and were married August 4 the same year. Jo taught music at Lindberg Elementary School until they began a family, and then came home to raise their three children, Karen, Russell, and Nancy. While the children were small, she worked from home as a seamstress and as a private music teacher. One of Nancy's earliest memories is being in the playpen while Jo taught voice and piano lessons. Today, all three children are passionate musicians.

Later, Jo completed her master's degree in Music Education at the University of Kansas. She taught at Kansas City Kansas Community Junior College for 20 years, where she accompanied the choir and taught piano and organ classes, Music for Elementary Teachers, and Music Appreciation. During her last few years at KCKCJC, she also directed, choreographed and costumed the show choir. She is fondly remembered by the thousands of students whose lives she touched over the years.

Throughout her life, Jo was active as a church musician; she began playing piano for the church at age 11. While the family lived in Kansas City, Kansas, she was a long-time member of Grandview United Methodist Church. After she and Ed retired, they moved to Lake Pomme de Terre, in Hickory County, Missouri. Jo was the pianist and church organist for the United Methodist Church there until she and Ed moved back to Kansas in 2018. In Newton, Ed and Jo joined Trinity Heights UMC.

Jo loved to read, and she and Ed traveled the world. As a master quilter, she made many quilts for the Festival of Sharing, and her quilts are highly treasured by family members and friends. She created a series of seven quilts based on the American Civil War using Civil War reproduction fabrics. In 2012, she developed a historical program based on the quilts and the 1861 border wars between Kansas and Missouri and gave presentations at community events. Her daughter Karen is now carrying on with the program and the quilting.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, EJ and Mable Evens, and by infant twin brothers. She is survived by her husband, Ed Hodge, of the home, and three children: Karen Wagner (Doug) of Wichita, KS, Russ Hodge (Gabi Krietemeyer) of Heidelberg, Germany, and Nancy Jo Blockcolsky (Lyle) of Olsburg, KS, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson due May 11.

After a very brief battle with cancer, Jo passed away peacefully on April 19, surrounded by family. Like her entire life, her last days were filled with humor, compassion and love.

Her life is celebrated by friends and family near and far who loved her dearly.

Patricia Darlene “Patty” Tinder, 78, died April 25, 2024, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. She was born October 31, 1945, in Canton, OH, to James P. and Barbara R. (Moorehead) Wenner.

Patty graduated from Haven High School in 1965 and attended Hutchinson Community College. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a child care provider for over 30 years. Patty was a cat-lover and absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.

On October 18, 1969, Patty married Richard G. Tinder, in Hutchinson. He died June 18, 2011.

She is survived by: her daughter, Rebecca D. Cukjati (John); grandchildren, Serenity Davidson, Kylan Cukjati, Devlin Cukjati, Edward Cukjati, Roger Cukjati; sister, Mary Felty; brothers, Gary Wenner, Jim Wenner; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wenner; and many extended family members.

Patty was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Timothy Tinder; sister, Sheryl Chappell; brothers, David Wenner, Tom Wenner; sister-in-law, Shirley Wenner; and brother-in-law, Gary Felty.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, in Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson.

Ricky Gene “Rick” Blakesley, 64, of Hutchinson, died April 22, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. &nbsp;He was born July 12, 1959, in Russell, to Claude Ray and Margaret Ellen (Boxberger) Blakesley. &nbsp;

Rick graduated from Hays High School in 1978, National College in 1996, and the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, in 1980. &nbsp;His work career was quite varied. &nbsp;Rick was a deputy for the Barton County Sheriff’s Department, oilfield worker for B.J. Titan, team member at Arconic (formerly Alcoa), before retiring from Reno County Youth Services and the Reno County Public Works Department.

Rick was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and volunteered every year at the National Junior College basketball tournament. &nbsp;He supported the Hutchinson Salthawks, Hutchinson Blue Dragons, and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas University basketball. &nbsp;In his spare time, he collected coins, worked on old cars, and rode his motorcycle. &nbsp;Above all, Rick loved his family. &nbsp;He was a proud son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. &nbsp;Rick was always there to support his three children in their school activities, take family vacations, and spoil and tease his six grandchildren. &nbsp;He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.

On May 18, 1985, he married Lori Michelle Otte, in Great Bend.

Rick is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of almost 39 years, Lori Blakesley of Hutchinson; children, Audree Lynn Blakesley Senestraro (Adrian Joseph) of Lawrence, Emile Michelle Blakesley Frantz (Dylan Jeffrey) of Lubbock, TX, and Tanner Blakesley (Claire Morgan Gee) of Topeka; grandchildren, Maddison and Maia Senestraro, Maddex and Brynley Frantz, and Avery and Eleanor Blakesley; parents, Claude and Margaret Blakesley of Salina; siblings, Ginny Neil (Allan) of Derby, Tina Burtzloff of Salina, and Rodney Blakesley (Barbara) of Urbandale, IA; and his beloved dog, Cosmo.

He was preceded in death by: &nbsp;his grandparents, Ted Boxberger, Leona Price, and Vernon and Delia Blakesley; brother-in-law, Tom Burtzloff; and his beloved four-legged Zoey.

Richard “Dick” Henry Rawson, 73, of Marquette, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

Dick was born on July 12, 1950, in Lindsborg, KS, the son of Floyd Albert and Nyla Laurine (Hendershot) Rawson. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1968 and attended Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; On November 5, 1989, Dick was united in marriage to Bobbie Kay Long in Marquette.&nbsp;

Dick retired from Johns Manville in McPherson where he was a machine chief.&nbsp; Following retirement from Johns Manville, he worked at McPherson Quick Lube and Rusty Bucket Liquor in Marquette.&nbsp; He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle on the side.

He was a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Bobbie; three children, Gwen Klepper (Jeff) of Ellinwood, KS, Kristen Leatherwood (Ryan) of Wister, OK, and Nic Rawson (Brittany) of Lyons, KS; brothers, John “Bill” Rawson (Louise) of Marquette, KS and Robert “Bob” Rawson (Diana) of Marquette, KS; sisters, Peggy Geiman of Marquette, KS and Patsy Morgan (Allan) of Cheyenne, WY; eight grandchildren, Lane, Ashtin, Grant, Jude, Clay, Kadee, Harrison, and Quinten; mother-in-law, Bertha “Bert” Long of Windom, KS; and many extended family members and friends.

Robbie met Angie, the love of his life, at a PTA meeting, and they married in 1995.&nbsp; He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and, as his loved ones know well, Robbie was an avid sports fanatic.&nbsp; Go Broncos, Avs, Chiefs, yada, yada, yada.&nbsp; Above all else, Robbie loved God and his church . . . and smoking any nearly expired meat.

 He was born May 30, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Karl and Jackie (Greenrod) Sorensen.  He married Sharon Kobilan November 7, 1982 in Fowler, Colorado.

Cheryl Brandsted, age 76, of Osage Beach, Missouri and McPherson, Kansas passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Stonebridge Senior Living, Osage Beach, Missouri.

She was born on July 9, 1947, in McPherson, Kansas; daughter of Theodore Tobias and Evelyn Jenny (Moulds) Becker.&nbsp; She graduated from McPherson High School in 1965 and attended McPherson College and Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to John Brandsted on July 14, 1968.

Cheryl enjoyed reading, gardening, drawing, antiquing, and working with her friends at Best Western and NCRA. When her children were young, she volunteered as room mother at their school, in Camp Fire Girls, and supported them through years of swim team. She was active in Grace Bible and New Gottland Covenant Church, as well as in P.E.O.&nbsp;

In her youth, she loved to ride her horses and take care of animals of all kinds. She loved to talk to people, preferably with a coffee in hand. She was known as the neighborhood mom to many. Her most precious thing in life was her family. She was a cat lover at heart, especially her beloved Larry.&nbsp; Cheryl will be missed by every person she touched.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, John Brandsted; her children Rebecca Brandsted and husband Nathan Cowan, Erick Brandsted and wife Cheryl K Brandsted; her grandchildren Jacob and Lillian Cowan, and Nina and Vera Brandsted; her brother Mike Becker (Anita), and Mitchell Becker (Susan), and her nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Cheryl was preceded by her parents Theodore (Ted) and Evelyn Becker; and her brother Marlin (Mutt) Becker.

Curtis William Moore, 69, of Hutchinson, died April 21, 2024, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born March 16, 1955, in Hutchinson, to Howard and Ada (Johnson) Moore.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Curtis was a graduate of Nickerson High School. He worked in many different roles for Stroburg Equipment Company. Curtis was married to Nina Jarmer from July 30th 1978 to August 1989. On May 29, 1995, Curtis married Karen Motz-Moore, in Hutchinson. They shared 17 of years before her passing on March 16, 2013.&nbsp;

Curtis is survived by: daughters, Emily Baumann (Brent), Inman, and Stacy Moore, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kaylee Schule (Daniel), Jaelynn Filipi, Mason Baumann, Addi Filipi, Aubrie Filipi; and brother, Jay Moore, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Remedios “Mello” Navarro, 90, of Hutchinson, passed away April 23, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at her home. She was born October 5, 1933, in La Union, New Mexico, to Antonio Olmos Ventura and Juanita Castro Llamas.

Mello married Peter M. Navarro in February of 1955, in McPherson. They settled in Hutchinson and, in addition to being a mother and a homemaker, she worked in several Hutchinson businesses – Peter Pan cleaners, Meschke’s Clothing, and International Homes. Mello was an excellent cook and loved doing crafts and sewing and helping others. She was a member of Church of the Holy Cross and volunteered in the kitchen at Holy Cross Catholic School.

Mello is survived by: her sons, John C. Navarro of Hutchinson, Steve &amp; Connie Navarro of Hutchinson, Peter “Edd” Navarro of Austin, TX, Martin Navarro of Hutchinson, David &amp; Margaret Navarro of Wichita; grandchildren, Matthew Navarro of Hutchinson, Anthony &amp; Bailey Navarro of Lawrence, Devin Porting of Manitowoc, WI, Daniel Porting of Hutchinson, Joshua Navarro of Lawrence, Haley Navarro of Hutchinson; great-grandchild, Calland Navarro of Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Tonia Navarro of Hutchinson; and several godchildren.

Emily often spoke fondly of her childhood years raising rabbits with her mother and her sister, Rose, listening to and singing with her mother and how her father was a good storyteller. It was also early on that she developed a love of the outdoors and gardening. Emily and Rose would work a garden with fruits and vegetables and can them together.&nbsp;

Emily was a devout Catholic her entire life. After graduating 8th Grade from Sacred Heart School, Emily continued her education by going to live with the sisters at St. Joseph’s Convent in Oxford, MI. At the age of 16, after finishing high school, she decided to stay and took her vows as a sister of the Dominican Order. It was there and then that she began to teach. By 1971, Emily decided she wanted to “change her style of living” and left the convent, but continued her teaching career.&nbsp;

In the 1972 school year, she would meet Michael J. Ronan, an assistant principal of the Michael O’Sullivan school at which they were both set to work. On June 23, 1973, the two were married in Flint, MI. They would go on to raise their family in both Michigan and Arizona, and of course, Emily would always have a garden.&nbsp;

Emily continued to teach and for a time served as a director at a number of daycare centers and a private school. &nbsp;Her favorite classes to teach were the preschool students. Emily would retire in 2000.

She was always calm in her demeanor, no matter the situation, selfless, and the rock of her family. Emily was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish, Phoenix, AZ, followed by St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Cave Creek, AZ where she enjoyed singing in the choir.&nbsp;

Immediately after finishing chemotherapy and beating cancer in 2006, she and her husband fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Italy and to the Vatican. On their trip, despite Emily’s temporarily weakened state, she was a force of nature, never missing an excursion. After the birth of her first grandchild in 2009, Emily shifted into grandma mode. She would babysit during the days and spend as much time with her grandchildren as she could, until they moved away in 2013. After moving to Kansas in 2017 to be closer to the grandchildren, Emily became a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Michael passed on February 6, 2020, after the two had shared nearly 47 years of marriage. Emily spent her final years enjoying the love and care of her grandchildren. She passed away the afternoon following her youngest grandchild’s confirmation in the Catholic faith. In the days leading up, she was a proud grandmother.

Emily is survived by: son, Marc Ronan (Hollie) of Hutchinson; daughter, Susan Gourley (Vicki) of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Brendan Troy Ronan, Grace Kathryn Lenae Ronan, and Gavin Richard Ronan; sister, Rose Pileri of Flushing, MI; brother, Herb Dyer (Carol) of Onekama, MI; sisters-in-law Patricia Redding (Peter) and Peggy Ronan both of Troy, MI and many numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents and brothers, Ronald Dyer and James Dyer.

Charles C. “Chuck” Porter peacefully passed on to his heavenly home on Monday, April 22, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife and children at home in Buhler, Kansas. He was born April 29, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas to John Clarence and Carol Alene (Miller) Porter. Chuck grew up on his family farm outside of Viola and attended Viola schools from K-12th grade. He graduated from Viola High School in 1961. Chuck received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University in 1967.

Chuck was a lifelong teacher, coach, and mentor and was lovingly referred to by others as “Coach”. He taught History, Government, and Physical Education. Students at Buhler High will remember spirited badminton matches against the coaches, one of Chuck’s favorite activities in P.E. classes. With his background in History and Government, he was a fierce competitor in countless Trivia games with family and friends.

Coach was an avid golfer and played anytime, anywhere, and every chance he got. He attended Medora Community Bible Church and his faith in his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ was the most important commitment in his life.

Through his career he coached football, wrestling, and golf. Chuck’s premiere passion in sports was football. He started his coaching career at St. Patrick’s Junior High School while in his senior year at WSU. His next stop was Kapaun High School (later Kapaun-Mt. Carmel High School) where he coached under his beloved friend, Ed Kriwiel. Coach used the same quiet yet determined approach he learned from Ed to successfully coach and mentor many young men over his 34 year coaching career.

Chuck’s first head football coaching job was at Bishop Carroll where he taught and coached for 4 years, also winnings a State Championship along with 4 district titles. His next stop was East High School for 3 years where the football team brought home 2 State Championships. After East High, Coach spent 2 years as an assistant at WSU, until the Football program was discontinued. His last teaching/coaching position was at Buhler High School, where he taught and coached football for the remainder of his career.

Chuck was honored with many awards over his career, some of them being; 11 coach of the year awards, 5 times Kansas Coach of the Year, 2 high school Hall of Fame at East and Buhler, Hall of Fame in the Kansas State High School Activities Association, and coaching Shrine Bowl teams.

Chuck was united in marriage to Schari E. Andrews on April 20, 1974 in Wichita. Chuck and Schari just shared their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

He is also survived by his children, Cris Porter of Wichita, Charlie Porter of Lawrence, and Blasi Porter of Buhler. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kelly Schuessler; and his brother, Walter Porter.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Medora Community Bible Church in Medora. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 27, at the church. Kathi Anne Smith, 64, died April 23, 2024, at her home. &nbsp;She was born October 27, 1959, in Scott City, KS, to Paul George Smith and Carol Ann (Reed) Smith.

Kathi enjoyed shopping at Walmart and writing letters. &nbsp;She loved getting in a car and just going for a ride. Kathi was a Special Olympics athlete and a Clayworks artist.

She is survived by: &nbsp;her siblings, Paula (Mark) Padilla of Newton, KS, Charles Smith of Dodge City, KS, John Smith of Minneola, KS, and Jo (Joel) Burnett of Minneola, KS; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Joyce Elaine Crow, 96, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Regent Park Rehabilitation and Health Care, Wichita, KS.

Joyce was born February 18, 1928, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Phillip and Grace (Wilson) Crow. She attended Hutchinson High School.  Joyce was known for greeting everyone she met with her big, beautiful smile and kindness.  She enjoyed many adventures in her life, starting with working for the Aramco Company in Saudi Arabia in the 1950’s.  After returning to the US from the Middle East, she attended and graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Colorado.  The majority of Joyce’s career was with the Social Security Administration, giving her the opportunity to explore and experience life in many parts of the US before returning to her hometown of Hutchinson, KS.  Through work Joyce met her longtime friend, Michele Groves, and together they enjoyed many adventures including sailing, golfing and travel around the US.  One of Joyce’s greatest joys was enjoying activities with her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Phillip Crow, Jack Crow, Patricia Goracke, Frank Crow, Dale Crow and Charlene Crow.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Judy McDonald; brother, Bill Crow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Pastor Tom Scott officiating.  Inurnment will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park.

Leroy A. Adwell, 91, of Lindsborg, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Bethany Home in Lindsborg.

Leroy was born on October 9, 1932, in rural Ravenwood, MO, the son of Jacob and Dortha (O’Bannon) Adwell.&nbsp; Part of his childhood was in Idaho and then in Oregon where they lived on Roger’s mountain before moving to Portland, Oregon.&nbsp; Moved back to Missouri in 1945, he graduated from high school in Ravenwood, MO.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, with the rank of Platoon Sergeant serving at the end of the Korean War from 1953 to 1955, being part of the Float Bridge Company, placing temporary bridges where permanent bridges had been destroyed in battle.

Leroy moved to Kansas in 1955 and worked for Skelgas, an underground storage facility in Conway.&nbsp; Later it became Texaco, where he worked for 35 years until taking early retirement in 1990.

He was united in marriage on September 8, 1956, to Murla D. Becker at the Presbyterian Chapel in McPherson, KS.&nbsp; To their union were born four children: Patty, Roger, Laura, and Douglas.

Leroy and Murla’s first purchased home in Conway was a story and a half house that they transformed into a ranch style house.&nbsp; He could never just sit and do nothing, was always building something, whether it was a play house, merry-go-round, or a go-cart for us kids.&nbsp; He’d go fishing whenever he got the chance. Then, they decided to move to the country, and they built that house.&nbsp; He decided to get into the hog business.&nbsp; What started out with a few sows, turned into a lot more.

After a time later, he gave up the hogs and changed to buying Holstein calves in Wisconsin where they were bottle fed and then raised up to 300 to 400 lbs before being sold&nbsp; In 1984, they sold the farm and moved to Lindsborg, where again they remodeled a 2 ½ story house.&nbsp; Dad enjoyed keeping busy building furniture and crafts that they sold at craft shows.&nbsp; Also, he loved being with family, gardening, raising pigeons, doves, and chickens.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gary Adwell, and sister, Mary Lou Sledge.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Mural Adwell of Lindsborg, KS; four children, Patty Turnquist (Bryce) of Lindsborg, KS, Roger Adwell (Melody) of Chanute, KS, Laura Johannsen (Richard) of Lindsborg, KS, and Douglas Adwell (Linda) of Valley Center, KS; a sister, Shirley Coffelt of Maryville, MO; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.&nbsp; The final resting place will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.

Then, they decided to move to the country, and they built that house.&nbsp; He decided to get into the hog business.&nbsp; What started out with a few sows, turned into a lot more.After a time later, he gave up the hogs and changed to buying Holstein calves in Wisconsin where they were bottle fed and then raised up to 300 to 400 lbs before being sold&nbsp; In 1984, they sold the farm and moved to Lindsborg, where again they remodeled a 2 ½ story house.&nbsp; Dad enjoyed keeping busy building furniture and crafts that they sold at craft shows.&nbsp; Also, he loved being with family, gardening, raising pigeons, doves, and chickens.Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Gary Adwell, and sister, Mary Lou Sledge.Leroy is survived by his wife, Mural Adwell of Lindsborg, KS; four children, Patty Turnquist (Bryce) of Lindsborg, KS, Roger Adwell (Melody) of Chanute, KS, Laura Johannsen (Richard) of Lindsborg, KS, and Douglas Adwell (Linda) of Valley Center, KS; a sister, Shirley Coffelt of Maryville, MO; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.A private family service will be held at a later date.&nbsp; The final resting place will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.Memorial donations can be made to Bethany Home in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.Personal condolences may be sent to the family at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stockhamfamily.com/" target="_blank">www.stockhamfamily.com</a>.

Randi Jean Gifford, 60, of Lindsborg, died April 13, 2024 at her residence. 

She had lived in the Lindsborg area most of her life and was a registered nurse. She was born July 7, 1963 in Lindsborg, the daughter of Everett W. and Anna L. (Pauls) Johnson. She graduated from Lindsborg High School and Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina. She was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include her sister, Jane A. (Greg) Yount of Bakersfield, Missouri and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

A private family inurnment will take place in the Christian Ridge Cemetery in rural Lindsborg at a later date. 

Memorials have been established with the KJIL radio station or the Kansas Bible Camp, in care of Olson's Mortuary, Canton.

Anna Ruth Endicott, 82, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 18, 2024. &nbsp;She was born July 4, 1941, in Hutchinson, KS, to Roy Hamilton Woosley and Allie Ruth (McKenna) Woosley. &nbsp;

Anna was a 1959 graduate of Hutchinson High School. &nbsp;She was from Hutchinson, KS, but moved to the Waterloo, KS, and Kingman, KS area.&nbsp; On May 15, 2014, Anna married William ‘Tom’ Endicott.

She was the kindest and beautiful soul you would ever meet. &nbsp;Anna always made sure that you knew that she loved and cared about you. &nbsp;She was an amazing wife, sister, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. &nbsp;Anna enjoyed singing and joking around. &nbsp;She loved sunflowers and animals, especially her dog Oliver.

Anna is survived by: &nbsp;her husband, William ‘Tom’ Endicott; brother, David Woosley; son, Wayne LeRoy McMillan, Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Wedgeworth; grandchildren, Jerry Grindley, Amanda Garcia, Evangeline McMillan, Kara Wedgeworth, Travis Tull, and Marshall Tull; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces; four nephews; six great-nieces; two great-nephews; and beloved canine companion, Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lloyd Woosley.

Cremation has taken place. &nbsp;Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary H. Newton, 90, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, KS. Mary was born June 2, 1933, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Albert and Phebe Ella (James) Gibson. 

On May 7, 1954, she married Jesse Paul Newton in Hutchinson. Mary worked for Consolidated Rebuilders and retired after 16 years. Mary was a lifetime resident of Hutchinson and loved the Lord with all her heart. 

Mary was a member of First Church of God for 86 wonderful years. Mary loved to read the bible and listen to Christian music. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and Grand-doggies. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bob Gibson, Eugene Gibson and Frank Gibson; six sisters, Sue Hughes, Phebe Jennings, Ina Harper, Marie Rodgers, Sophia Baize and Fern Stoughton. 

Mary is survived by her two sons, Chris (Delora) Newton and Jay (Laura) Newton; three daughters, Beth Boese, Leta (Gary) Green and Mary (Barry) Homfeld; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at First Church of God, 704 N. Jefferson, Hutchinson, KS. A visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. with family present at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson.

Arthur Andrew Hoch passed away March 27, 2024, at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp; He was born January 19, 1942, near Dwight, Kansas to Harry and Opal Engstrom Hoch.&nbsp;

Art graduated from Dwight High School in 1959 as valedictorian.&nbsp; He graduated cum laude from McPherson College in 1963 with Education and Sociology majors.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On April 13, 1963, he married Karen Crain in Waka, Texas.&nbsp; He taught and coached at Buhler Elementary.&nbsp; Art graduated in 1966 from Emporia State with a masters in Elementary Administration.

He was Principal at Ashland, (where Mike was born) and Burlington elementary schools.&nbsp; Art, Karen and Mike moved back to McPherson in 1970 (where Scott was born).&nbsp; He sold insurance until he was asked to return to teaching.&nbsp; He taught 5th&nbsp;graders at Park and Roosevelt schools until 1992.

After 28 years in education, Art worked at The Cedars as Administrator for Independent Living, in charge of the (old) Cedars Towers and Cedars Village and helped new residents plan their homes in the Village, until his 2004 retirement.&nbsp;

Survivors are Karen; Mike, (Melanie), and Isabella; Scott, (Shanna), and Skylar (Gretchen), Foster, and Thatcher; Sisters-in-law Shirley Hoch and Patsy Hoch; Sister-in-law Mary Stephenson (Terry).&nbsp; He was predeceased by parents, and brothers Lowell, Don, and Willis.

Visitation is Friday,&nbsp;May 10, at Church of the Brethren, 5-7 pm. A Memorial Service for Art will be on Saturday,&nbsp;May 11, at 1:00 pm at the Church.

Earl Oscar Pike, 60, of Arlington, died April 17, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. &nbsp;He was born February 25, 1964, in Hutchinson, to Darrel Dwayne and Vina May (Dyche) Pike.&nbsp;

Oscar worked as a driver for Gravel &amp; Concrete Inc., Nickerson, for 5 years. He worked for Concrete Enterprises for 19 years. He was also a custom cutter for Rick Maynard. He had a wood business with Bill Bailey, W E B Firewood, he was part owner of Cheney Ready Mix, for 5 years, and Kingman Ready Mix, for 7 years. He grew in Arlington and Partridge. &nbsp;He traveled to roping events and enjoyed riding his dirt bike. He was an avid KU and Chiefs fan, and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and an immaculate yard. &nbsp;Oscar will be remembered for his most unique sense of humor and how he was always supporting his family when they asked.&nbsp;

On November 15, 1985, he married Cheryl Soukup, in Kingman. He raised Cheryl’s daughter, Jennifer as his own, in Kingman, KS. They divorced in January 14, 2003.

On June 10, 2003, he married the love of his life, Terri Rae Halfmoon Stanton, in Hutchinson.&nbsp;

Oscar is survived by: &nbsp;his wife of over 20 years, Terri Pike of Arlington; daughter, Jennifer Sharp, and son, Christopher Jenkins, both of Hutchinson, and daughter, Charleen Jenkins (Michael Rivers) of Wichita; grandson, Jamie Sharp of Hutchinson; sister, Jo Shelton (Tom) of Arlington; brother, Dwayne Pike of Arizona; in-laws, Rita and David Jamison of Moundridge; and sisters-in-law, Angela Smith (Chuck) of Burrton and Samantha Richter (Ryan) of Newton

He had many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He enjoyed being an uncle, great uncle, and a great-great uncle. He joked about who was his favorite niece, between Margo and Megan.
