Rosalie “Rose” Forkell, 71, passed away on November 3, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 5, 1953, in La Jara, CO, to Eutimio and Rosella Mercedes (Marquez) Vigil.
Rose was a devoted and loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she took great joy in attending their activities. She was an active member of Countryside Baptist Church in Hutchinson.
On June 30, 1971, Rose married Allen David Forkell, Sr. in Colorado Springs, CO, and together they shared over 53 years of marriage.
Rose is survived by her husband, Allen Forkell, Sr. of Hutchinson; children, Allen (Amy) Forkell, Jr. of DeKalb, IL, and Lisa Marie Forkell of Mississippi; grandchildren, Allie Forkell of Manassas, VA, Peyton Brand and Katie McCullers, both of Hutchinson, Dylan Forkell of Inman, Nick Stanky and Jason Stanky, both of Mississippi; 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dan (Pamela) Vigil of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Timothy Vigil, Joseph Vigil, and Frank Vigil, Sr.; and her sister, Sara Vigil.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Countryside Baptist Church, 819 W. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has already taken place.
